A good documentary by a simple American guy from LA, who goes to Crimea to discover the truth. Must watch!

  1. Hatoyama was ridiculed harshly on the Sunday news debate program for doing exactly as this fellow: going there himself to see what is true and what isn’t. A few of the panelists seemed to recognize the seriousness of the Ukraine stand-off, though the majority of those had been “brainwashed” by America, to use a word Hatoyama himself used about Japan, and called Russia the aggressor.

In Japan, many people will be fooled and remain stubbornly so. Those that go to America these days and go beyond the Japanese “bubble” of packaged tours (even English school programs insulate the students from actual interactions with the natives), can see that America is no longer the “knight in shining armor” that would defend human rights. They are few, but I think Hatoyama was popular enough, and people realize he is not an idiot. Knowledge of a duality of “truth” is also a strong part of Japanese culture, with an “official truth” and the “actual reality,” so there are many who will quickly ascertain why the government is attacking our ex-Prime Minister. I wonder if my friend who scoffed at the idea of Nazis in Kiev because he’d heard that it was only Russian propaganda from sources he trusted, were still alive (accident or murder–we still don’t know), if Hatoyama’s brave action would cause him to reconsider what I was telling him.

Sources like the Guardian are trusted because they have exposed scandals in the recent past. They and Avaaz, whom we saw exposed the other day, can become serious obstacles to revealing the truth. The late Michael C. Ruppert, who had worked for the LA police and a stint for the CIA, said that for disinformation to work, it has to be 95% (not sure of the exact figure) accurate. We who fight that 5% of lies have a frustrating time. As a rule, once a source lies to me, I never trust it again.

    • Very well put!
I know from direct Crimean sources that Hatoyama went to Crimea and was charmed and very impressed by how happy Crimeans were to be with Russia. Me, I didn’t need to go anywhere – I always knew that.
He said that it was so nice in Crimea he wouldn’t mind living there. In response, Crimean authorities offered him Crimean citizenship, as a good will jesture I guess. He said he would consider should he have trouble in Japan and if government prevents his return. Perhaps he was being polite, or who knows… It appears Japanese govt took all that as a personal insult.
That’s in addition to being US puppets.

  3. Thank you Lada Ray for the video.Of course most of us that read your site know what is going on in Crimea .There is and old story ,not sure if it is true but it is about the Russian KGB visiting the USA ,they asked their American counterparts ,”How do you do it ? In the USSR the people laugh at our propaganda ,here everyone believes your propaganda ”
True or not it is exactly what is happening. There is no ministry of propaganda here in the West but it is here none the less and they are so much better at it.

    • LOL. Propaganda: that has been true for 2-3 centuries, but they are losing their grip and it is changing.
The global society is moving to the formula that: ‘truth is the best propaganda’ ever so slowly.

  5. Thank you so much Lada!
What a great video, and what great potential for tourism.

Under the Ukrainian yoke this could never happen. With no referendum most of Crimea and its people would have been destroyed!!
Now people are very relaxed, happy and at peace!
Even without considering the geopolitical side, Russia has no choice but to act the way they did and all the while following international law.

It looks idyllic and full of inspiration conducive to artistic endeavours.
(and of course, I’ll pass it on)
    Blessings!

PS: lets not forget the ancient astronauts history in Crimea. Another reason for the West to grab Crimea by whatever means. The exceptional(s) must have the monopoly on retrieved technologies no matter where their location in the world

  6. I saw the video last night. What a beautiful place. The climate reminds me of my home in southern California. It’s definitely one of my to go places in the world. The movie did a great job in showing that Ukraine all throughout Crimea’s history had no role whatsoever. Only an arrogant Kruschev decided without asking the people of Crimea to give it over to Ukraine. What a scumbag he was. And for Ukraine to deny this and think that Crimea belongs to them is really stupid.

Lada I read a review of a very interesting book about Stalin that he and Lenin had a major disagreement on the composition of the former Russian empire after the revolution. Lenin wanted to artificially create new republics like Ukraine and then conjure up the USSR while Stalin thought it was better to keep the Russian empire but give newly liberated nationalities the title of autonomous republic and stay within the Russian federation. Of course Lenin won out. I think in retrospect Stalin’s idea would have been much better in the long run and Ukraine would not have become this failed nation. It just goes to show that Lenin, while a genius at revolution, was totally clueless on how to administer a large nation. Stalin, while a very brutal person, was actually much more realistic and pragmatic than Lenin and actually a better administrator (again brutally).

In my heart of hearts I really believe that Ukraine won’t survive as a country. It’s too artificial. It will break up with the south (Odessa) and the east of Dnieper River gaining independence as Novorussia. It will have the same status as South Ossetia but in time will incorporate into the Russian Federation as an autonomous republic.

    Let’s see if I’m correct.

  8. Thanks, Lada, for posting this documentary. I’ve placed it on my blog and facebook, with this message: “It is so sad to see how deprived many Americans are by their lack of international travel and lack of knowledge regarding the countries we are taught to consider “Enemy.” My sister, who has traveled the world because she works for an international agency, and I, who have been privileged to travel on 4 other continents, were talking recently about how deprived those who have not had the opportunity to travel are. Deprived, because they do not know that people in every country are no different from us–in their desire to love, to live in peace, to have fun, to share music, food, dance, and friendship. WE ARE TRULY ONE! But sadly—deprived of this knowledge—many Americans believe the lies we are taught and are therefore unable to look out over our planet and see Russian friends, Egyptian friends, Syrian friends, Afghan friends, Iraqi friends, Iranian friends …. on and on and on. There is no limit to the amount of loving friendships all Americans could have. IF ONLY ALL KNEW THE TRUTH!”

I am so appreciative of your blog–to find a place where I can learn the truth about Russian history and its people!

  10. Former PM of Canada, the Hon. Paul Hellyer, made a video in which he warns that “The USA is in Grave Danger”! This is a must see/listen to video, very good for sharing with people who are not familiar with how they have been duped, and still are……

    • “The USA is in Grave Danger”

Thank you so much Christa for recommending Paul Hellyer’s video!!
By the way, it is a very recent video and I am wondering how long it will remain available in Canada….our laws are getting more and more tyrannical.

In only 30 minutes he truly gives an overview of all that is covertly manipulated in the world and he offers solutions. I am amazed that he was able to cover so much in only 30 min. Many people would not realize that he is in his 90’s.

Right now I have three hero-politicians that I highly admire: Sergei Lavrov, Putin and Paul Hellyer. No doubt there are others but these three are tops in my books.
      Blessings!

    • Not sure about your first comment, China. I never saw it – I don’t see all comments, as I already explained to another reader. We do have several layers of filters on WP, plus a moderator here on FT. Not everything makes it. So, please always mind what you put in your comment.
Also, as you well know, we have strict BLOG RULES here on FT re. being civil to each other. NO racial/or anti-any-nationality/religion, including Americans, discrimination or statements of any sort are allowed on this blog. The country’s policy is one thing – people is another, as we also see on the example of Poland.
I beleive Nancy expresses her views and hopes for her country that she loves. I think it pains her to see where this country (I mean US, of course) is heading, just as much as it pains you or me. Perhaps, I don’t agree with everything Nancy says, but I respect and trust her good intentions and sincerity.

Peace and hugs to you and to all 🙂

  14. Lada, two urgent alerts! I’ll post links in two posts:
    http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2015/march/23/congress-demands-war-in-ukraine/

Just weeks after a European-brokered ceasefire greatly reduced the violence in Ukraine, the US House of Representatives today takes a big step toward re-igniting — and expanding — the bloody civil war.

A Resolution, “Calling on the President to provide Ukraine with military assistance to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” stealthily made its way to the House Floor today without having been debated in the relevant House Committees and without even being given a bill number before appearing on the Floor!

Yesterday, in a vote that largely slid under the radar, the House of Representatives passed a resolution urging Obama to send lethal aid to Ukraine, providing offensive, not just “defensive” weapons to the Ukraine army – the same insolvent, hyperinflating Ukraine which, with a Caa3/CC credit rating, last week started preparations to issue sovereign debt with a US guarantee, in essence making it a part of the United States (something the US previously did as a favor to Egypt before the Muslim Brotherhood puppet regime was swept from power by the local army).

The resolution passed with broad bipartisan support by a count of 348 to 48.

They’re doing everything from raising private funds to providing supplies to troops – and even taking up arms on the front lines. As Mark MacKinnon reports, Ukrainian-Canadians aren’t content leaving the defense of their homeland up to Ottawa.

AT LEAST ONE VOICE OF REASON at Carleton University:
Piotr Dutkiewicz, director of the Centre for Governance and Public Management at Carleton University, says that Canada has squandered the “very good” relations it had with Moscow prior to the conflict in favour of a one-sided pro-Kiev stance.
“We were in an almost ideal position to be good negotiators and brokers of peace,” Prof. Dutkiewicz says. Instead, “Ukrainian organizations in Canada are forcefully and loudly feeding the anti-Russian foreign policy.”

  17. Hi Amin! You are probably refering to the link with the “ears”! I did some checking today on the internet and found nothing unusual! 😉 Putin has a very distinctive “earmark” and it is the same ear, as far as I can see, from his youth up till now! So, that is pure disinfo about so calles “clones”. “They” also think that Mr.O is a clone…….mmmmm…..don’t know…..
