Idiocracy and new ‘Kremlin Sanctions’: Russian Ambassador to the US is World’s ONLY Ambassador Under Sanctions!
The new and already infamous “Kremlin sanctions package” was adopted yesterday by the US. We discussed it in this latest post, which is going viral: Major Russian Bank CEO Dire Warning: Anti-Russian Sanctions Mean War, US Should Remove Ambassador from Moscow.
On the preliminary list are CEOs, politicians, large companies, international organizations and Russia’s rich. A big chunk of the list consists of international companies, organizations and countries doing business with Russia’s defense industry. As I told you a few days ago, there is a long line of countries wanting to buy Russian S-400s and modern Russian aircraft despite all the sanctions, while US arms orders are propped up only by American threats and intimidation of its vassals. Think about it! New Russian High Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov, a man with diplomatic immunity — the whole nine yards… is the only(!) ambassador in the world, who is simultaneously under EU and Canadian sanctions!!
You might ask, how come he isn’t under US sanctions? That’s the snag. See, he would have been… except, one cannot sanction the High Ambassador to one’s own country. Ooopps…

EU Trouble: Why Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Romania Support Separatism in Ukraine
According to some, this is what Ukraine’s map will look like in a few years. This is one idea… I personally think the map will look a bit different, but it certainly won’t be anything like it is today. Just give it time, and it may be a bit longer than a few years due to the fast-changing timelines, as a consequence of the Earth Shift. Will even the country’s name and the infamous ‘zhovto-blakitniy’ (yellow and blue) flag survive this ukro-nazi Kiev regime? To me, that is a BIG question!
LADA RAY PREDICTION:
Ukraine will continue rocking and burning up in fever, until the many injustices, clashes of inner economic and outer geopolitical interests, layers of lies and mismatches with reality are resolved.
I always said, and will continue saying, that Ukraine in its today’s form and substance, including its very name, is an artificial still-born creation, which could only survive and prosper under the tutelage and protection of Russia. Once it became separate, making it a juicy prey of the greedy local and international oligarchy; once alien ideology has been introduced, the whole thing began disintegrating.
It will continue on its road to self-destruction until, one way or another, all or most tensions and problems are resolved. Only this kind of solution will clear up the road to renewal and progress for Malorossia and Novorossia.
Today we are talking about one long-brewing issue, which was left dormant on the back burner for as long as Kiev and ukro-nazis didn’t touch it. As soon as this issue is disturbed, the overboiling of the old problems is bound to occur. The overboiling would be better for Ukraine’s many people, who are sick of this regime. However, it is very bad for Kiev, Poroshenko and ukro-nazis, who call themselves ‘Ukraine patriots’.
These self-styled ‘Ukraine patriots’ aren’t very bright, and through their actions, such as the one described below, they will continue pushing Ukraine into abyss, until complete disintegration, or until Russia is ready to pick up the pieces.
Hungary, Slovakia and Romania support separatism in Ukraine and demand self-determination for ethnic minorities
I had previously written about Poland, Hungary and Romania licking their lips and trying to quietly bite off pieces of Ukraine, hiding behind the Western and Ukrainian hysteria targeting Russia. This time Kiev, by accusing Russia of supposed ‘aggression’ and trying to pass more and more anti-Russian laws has stepped on the new rake and gotten itself into a very tight spot. The EU, as well as Germany/Merkel are equally in a tight spot, as lead defenders of Poroshenko and the Kiev junta.
Ukraine Rada recently passed a new ‘education law,’ according to which school education in the languages of minorities — and those are many in Ukraine — is banned, and education only in Ukrainian is permitted. As of 2017, education in minorities’ native languages is still permitted in primary school, however, all students past grade 5 are mandated to study only in Ukrainian. As of 2020 100% of pupils from first to last grade must study only in Ukrainian.
This news immediately caused an uproar in western Ukraine, where the following large minorities, numbering in hundreds of thousands reside: Hungarians, Romanians and Slovaks. In Odessa Oblast there also are numerous Bulgarian villages. Till now, they all had a choice of sending their kids to ethnic schools, however, gradually the number of subjects taught in minority languages has been declining over the years. There are also fewer and fewer such schools available.
Hungary PM Viktor Orban, a well-known nationalist, immediately reacted to the ukro-fascist ‘education law’ by denouncing it and demanding that EU demand that Ukraine rescind this new law as a condition to keep its ‘EU association agreement.’
To remind everyone, the infamous Ukraine’s EU association agreement was the pretext for the Kiev Maidan and coup 2014, leading to the ousting of president Yanukovich, war in Donbass and the loss of Crimea by Ukraine. Poroshenko proclaimed the signing of the EU association agreement and the accompanying 90-day visa free travel to the EU for Ukraine citizens as the crowning achievement of the Maidan and his administration.
Viktor Orban, who never minces words, announced that if EU fails to react to Hungary’s demands to protect the Hungarian population of western Ukraine, Hungary will block all EU’s initiatives in support of Kiev, such as Euro loans, further liberalization of trade quotas and any political or economic support of Poroshenko and Kiev regime.
Slovakia and Romania joined in the chorus of Kiev condemnation and demanded the same. These countries pledged to vote down any EU initiatives that would give breaks or afford loans to Kiev.
Furthermore, Hungary, supported by Slovakia and Romania, demands broad autonomy for the Hungarian and Rusyn populated Zakarpatska Rus, also called Podkarpatskaya Rus. (NOTE that ‘s’ in Rus and Rusyn is pronounced as ‘s’ in the word state, not as ‘z’) As seen on the map on top of this post, it is the western-most tip of today’s Ukraine, also known in the West as Transcarpathia.
There are about 200,000 Hungarians residing there, most of whom also posses Hungarian passports. This is because this area was a part of Austria-Hungary for centuries prior. However the core majority of the population in Podkarpatskaya Rus are Rusyns (aka, Rusins, Ruthenians). As you see by the name, it’s another way to say ‘Russians.’ I’ll tell you more: in 19th — beginning of 20th centuries the population of most of today’s Ukraine called themselves ‘Rusyns.’ The word ‘Ukrainian’ in the 19th century signified basically traitors to the Rusins, their language (an older version of western Russian) and Russian Orthodox faith. Later, the true history was successfully forgotten, aided and abetted by propaganda from Poland and Austria-Hungary. I explained in detail how it all happened in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 2 UKRAINE: TRUTH, LIES & FUTURE HOPE.
Rusyns have been very vocal about the fact that they wanted autonomy and recognition as a separate ethnicity, with their own language. They are recognized as a separate from ‘Ukrainians’ ethnicity by the neighboring countries, such as Slovakia and Hungary, as well as Russia and the UN. But Kiev refuses to recognize them as a separate minority, with their own rights, and insists they all are ‘Ukrainians.’ The leaders of the Rusyn movement have been either threatened or driven out of Ukraine altogether. As we see, Rusyns, as the core population of Transcarpathia, are ripe and ready for secession — they only need a push — and a support from abroad. In this case, the necessary support may come from Hungary and Slovakia.
This map allows you to see approximately where Zakarpatska Rus (Podkarpatskaya Rus) is located — marked in bright aquamarine color. I say approximately because it does have some discrepancies. It’s surrounded by Hungary in red (Wegry), Romania, Slovakia (light blue) and Poland. The rest of Ukraine is not marked here, but it is to the east in gray.
However, Germany and EU are vehemently opposing the autonomy and self-determination of these regions. Ukraine has to be kept intact despite the unwillingness and inability of different parts to stay together. Ukraine has to be as big and strong as possible, according to EU, Merkel and US. Why? Because as big and as menacing as possible a thorn is needed against Russia. But it is simultaneously a thorn against Eastern/Central European countries, such as Hungary, Austria, Czechia and Slovakia, some of which are starting to see the light and want better relations with Russia. Maintaining a permanent Iron Curtain between Russia and these countries, as well as entire Europe, is the No.1 goal of the neo-liberal globalist and West-centric elites.
Conclusion: there will be lots of fights and arms twisting in the EU in the next couple of years. Get your semechki and popcorn ready.
Many Rusyns have relatives on the other side of the border and many own Hungarian passports, in addition to Ukrainian passports. However, at large they prefer to be a part of Russia. The problem is that they are surrounded by the rest of western Ukraine, which tends to be ukro-nazi inclined and there is no direct border with Russia. In such situation, they hope to escape the clutches of Kiev with Hungary’s help.
Slovakian population has also resided in those parts since it was a part of the Austria-Hungary. On the top map, you will also find small pieces of south-western Ukraine marked as populated by Romanians.
But the biggest chunk of today’s Ukrainian territory coveted by Romania is the southern part of the prized Odessa Oblast, aka, Bessarabia (on the top map it is marked under the Russian flag). Romania also claims that all of Moldavia (presently separate from Russia Republic of Moldova) and the breakaway Pridnestrovie should both be a part of the ‘Great Romania.’ All that can happen in their wet dreams only, of course. I can tell you with absolute confidence that Romania will never get its hands on either Odessa Oblast, Moldavia or Pridnestrovie. What is marked on the top map as the territory claimed by Poland is the largest part of Western Ukraine. Poland has been for years publicly supporting Russophobia and discrimination of Russian language and culture in Ukraine, while at the same time secretly plotting to tear Western Ukraine with center in Lvov from Ukraine.
Overall, either quietly or loudly, Poland, Hungary, and Romania have been encouraging and supporting separatism in Western Ukraine, while voting for sanctions against Russia, for supposedly supporting ‘separatism’ in south-eastern Ukraine and Donbass. The double-faced hubris of this position is obvious: in reality they are licking their lips and waiting for the right moment when Kiev weakens enough, secretly hoping to chop off the pieces of Ukraine they can get their hands on.
It has to be mentioned that Hungary, along with Austria, Slovenia, Greece and Finland, has been one of the most vocal opponents of the anti-Russian sanctions, repeatedly demanding their repeal. Hungary also made a serious effort to keep its good relationship with Russia going, despite sanctions and EU threats. Same goes for the the other countries mentioned in this regard.
Poland, on the other hand, has been the biggest proponent and initiator of the existing and new anti-Russian sanctions. Many anti-Russian moves in the EU have been pushed through based on the insistence of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Romania hasn’t been that far behind.
Hungary and others demand broad autonomy and self-determination for their respective minorities in order to preserve the culture and the right of people to speak their native language. Hungary’s Orban even uttered something that till now was considered blasphemy and a taboo in Hungary and the rest of Eastern Europe. Ready for this?.. He said that Hungarian minority was batter off in the USSR than in today’s Ukraine!! Can you imagine this coming out of the mouth of an EU head of state?!
What Orban said is the real, honest to goodness truth of course, as I can personally confirm. But it is something no EU politician could admit to himself — forget admitting it publicly!
The demands of autonomy and self-determination for Hungarians in Ukraine caused a major uproar in Kiev. Foreign minister Klimkin lashed out by accusing Hungary of supporting separatism in Ukraine. Ukraine in general is in shock from the EU/Hungary/Romania/Slovakia’s reaction to the new law. They have thought that because Kiev serves as a major thorn in Russia’s back, EU will always look the other way, no matter what Kiev junta does. After all, EU conveniently didn’t notice any of the atrocities by Kiev and ukro-nazis against the peaceful population of Donetsk and Lugansk. That’s because Donbass is populated by Russians and Ukrainians. But an encroachment on the rights of those ethnicities they consider their own is a different story altogether.
In their twisted and dim minds the Kiev Rada honestly thought the EU would say ‘Thank You’ and reward them for the new anti-Russian move — because make no mistake, this new ‘education law’ is aimed against Russia.
And now we need to say a few words about the elephant in the room, aka, RUSSIAN LANGUAGE. The thing is, when the Rada was passing this already infamous ‘education law,’ what they were really targeting was Russian language and culture. It is the highly preferred culture and language for the majority of Ukraine’s population, despite major persecution. Therefore, its complete eradication from people’s genetic and ancestral memory is the ultimate goal.
It once happened the same way to Poland and to Germany (Prussia and beyond). But that was centuries ago, and this is happening in front of our very eyes. Problem is, no matter how hard they tried, they were largely unsuccessful with adults, who refused to stop speaking Russian. It is helpful that we live in the TV and Internet age, where much info can be found bypassing official channels.
I described in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 2 UKRAINE: TRUTH, LIES & FUTURE HOPE how in 2007 the Gallup poll inadvertently confirmed that 70%+ of Ukrainians preferred to read and write in Russian. This is when it was decided that slow and insidious means of color revolutions and election fraud, employed to elect the US agent Yushchenko in 2004, didn’t produce the desired result. It was judged that instead a violent coup d’etat was needed, using sold-out elites, criminal element, the jobless, angry and disgruntled youths, silly students and impoverished villagers. The preparation for the 2014 Maidan began.
We can easily point fingers here. Recall US State Dept’s Victoria Nuland bragging during Washington Press Club meeting in the end of 2013 how US spent $5 billion to subvert Ukraine. Top EU and US politicians were on Kiev Maidan every day, calling to overthrow Yanukovich. The names that come to mind first are Nuland, US ambassador to Kiev Pyatt, US senator McCain and Poland’s top politician Kachinski, twin brother of ex-president Kachinski who died along with 96 Poland’s top brass in self-inflicted plane crash near Smolensk, Russia, several years prior. This surviving Kachinski twin is presently called the ‘shadow ruler of Poland.’
Both then Ukraine PM Azarov and president Yanukovich were threatened daily with a coup and bodily harm if they resisted the Maidan and tried to make up with Russia. PM Azarov writes extensively in his recently published memoirs how he was personally threatened more than once by Nuland and US ambassador Pyatt, as well as EU’s then foreign minister Catherine Ashton (a UK native). All top Ukraine politicians, ministers, security services personnel, police and military commanders, bureaucrats and oligarchs were either bought or threatened, if they refused to succumb to pressure. The most ‘disagreeable’ to the West’s agenda for Ukraine were killed or driven out of the country. Ex-PM Azarov was one of them.
At the same time, since late 1980s-early 1990s, the children were targeted through a wholesale assault and mutilation of the educational system of Ukraine. If it didn’t work with adults, they needed to switch target to the next generation and watch how they grow up hating their own heritage. And that, unfortunately, did produce the result they were after. It is a well-known fact that Ukraine school books were created using free Soros grants, by western Ukrainians from Poland, Canada and US. This was done simultaneously with the re-writing of history and re-inventing Ukrainian language to make it seem as non-Russian as possible. Again, all that was done using fat grants provided by Soros, USAID, Endowment for Democracy and other Western NGOs. But the result was still relatively meager and localized.
As of 2017, despite urko-nazi threats, parents still continue to go out of their way to find a Russian school for their kids. I just heard from those who live in Ukraine and they complain that it’s harder and harder to find a Russian school in most areas, even where Russian is traditionally the ONLY language spoken, such as Odessa. In Kiev it’s nearly impossible to find a Russian school. But people still try.
There are bizarre incidents being reported. A Russian-speaking teacher would ask a question in Russian, but the pupil is required to answer in Ukrainian, even though the pupil’s language is also Russian. In some schools teachers and parents secretly agree on a work-around, such as the class is advertised as Ukrainian-language, but all lessons are conducted in Russian, for as long as no outsiders are present. In other cases, when teachers in class teach falsified history, parents at home are forced to re-educate their children by telling them not to believe what is said in school. Can you imagine the trauma and confusion all this causes to a fragile child’s psyche?
I recently read this story by a very popular in Ukraine blogger, who writes under the name Yura Sumi. He was forced out of the country after telling the truth about Donbass and Kiev regime. While he was trying to get naturalized in Russia, his family remained in Ukraine. They came to visit him in a small town near Moscow, where he resided. His teenage daughter didn’t want to go back to Ukraine. Parting, she uttered longingly, ‘Papa, why wasn’t I born here?’
Oftentimes Russian is marked in school curriculum as a ‘foreign’ language, and in many schools it is pushed out altogether, being overtaken by other FOREIGN languages: English and German.
But the resistance to forced ukrainization is huge. In the absence of good Russian language education, parents often take it upon themselves to teach kids Russian through the love of the Russian literature and through watching Russian films and cartoons.
This is why the real assault against Russian language was needed. The new ‘education law’ was aimed to target specifically Russian language and culture. But Hungarian, Slovakian and Romanian were caught in the crossfire. The Kiev junta hasn’t counted on backlash from Hungary and other EU countries. Kiev is afraid to spoil relations with EU, its biggest backer apart from the US. Poroshenko and Rada made an attempt to get around this by calling only on Russian language to be banned from schools, while giving exception to Hungarian, Slovak and Romanian. But that created additional backlash from western Ukraine ultra-nationalists, who want ONLY Ukrainian in every school. At the same time it caused a protest storm from Russia, and even more international accusations of blatant discrimination of the minorities’ rights. The UN was forced to get involved.
The pressure on Poroshenko to rescind this discriminatory law will continue from the EU and UN. Meanwhile Ukrainian ultra-nationalists and ukro-nazis continue pressing Poroshenko to uphold it. So far, Poroshenko, this unusually large, yet slippery snake, has been able to squirm his way out of tight spots, hanging on by his teeth to power. But the spot he is in is getting progressively tighter. He knows he must get re-elected as president just to stay alive. The moment he’s out of office and loses his immunity, he will be hunted for the rest of his life.
The example of ex-Georgian president Saakashvili, a man without citizenship, is right in front of his eyes. Saakashvili was stripped of Georgian citizenship, but he quickly and illegally received Ukraine citizenship. At the same time he was made by Poroshenko the governor of Odessa Oblast, also quite illegally. Late last year (right on time, based on my prediction made in Earth Shift Report 8: Black Sea Gambit), he lost his lucrative Odessa post and was stripped of Ukraine citizenship by Poroshenko, following a public row.
Earlier, US refused to give Saakashvili a green card and/or a visa, which in itself is interesting. The reason: US needed him to have no choice but to stay close to Ukraine and Georgia, where he could cause most damage to Russia. However, my prediction is that with his latest actions, Saakashvili is helping Russia, Novorossia and Malorossia’s future in the long run.
After being kicked out of Ukraine Saakashvili became a person without citizenship and stayed in Poland. A few weeks ago, with the help of US and Poland, Saakashvili boldly and illegally crossed Ukraine border. The video of Saakashvili’s crossing is incredibly bizarre to watch. Kiev dispatched police, armed troops and armored vehicles to the border to prevent Saakashvili crossing. Yet, he was able to do so quite easily, with the help of a mob of local ukro-nazis. The Ukraine armed forces didn’t resist it very much. At this time Saakashvili is roaming Ukraine, threatening to expose and to oust Poroshenko during upcoming presidential elections.
The video below shows how Saakashvili forces his way into Ukraine from Poland, with the help of his ukro-nazi friends. On the Ukraine side he was met by Yulia Timoshenko (remember her?), who nurtures her own ambitions to become Ukraine PM or president, and whose ultimate goal is to unseat Poroshenko. For that, she is ready to make alliances with anyone, including Saakashvili. In the video below Georgian national Saakashvili, turned the most Ukrainian of all Ukrainians, is singing Ukrainian songs with his western Ukraine supporters. Later, they’ll head directly to Lvov, the capital of the ukro-nazi Galichina (western Ukraine), where he again will be greeted by Timoshenko, together with Lvov mayor Sadovoi, who also covets presidential chair.
Ukraine is a farce and a mad house, so what else is new? We had talked about the mad house called Ukraine in previous years, but this tragic comedy just gets better and better (or worse, depending on how you look at it).

How easily Saakashvili crossed into Ukraine reminds me of another famous episode, that of Lenin arriving to Russia in 1917, across several countries, including through Germany, which was at war with Russia at the time. Lenin arrived in time to head the Bolshevik Revolution on November 7, 1917.
We now know why Lenin’s carriage was allowed free passage through WWI-torn Europe and warring Germany: there was a collusion between UK and Germany to let him pass. In Saakashvili’s case, there has been a collusion between US and Poland.
Saakashvili is being kept in his useful capacity as a short leash and a whip for Poroshenko. For both Kiev and Poroshenko it can only get worse, and it can’t get any better. More turmoil to come!
This is a map of Ukraine, posted in the streets of Odessa (Odessa for now is a part of southern Ukraine). Over western and central Ukraine it reads in big letters ‘SOLD.’ Over eastern Ukraine: ‘LOST.’ Over the empty space where Crimea used to be as part of Ukraine: ‘LOST.’ Over southern Ukraine: ‘SOON TO BE LOST.’ If anyone still has any doubts of the language spoken in the south and east of Ukraine — well, in most of Ukraine really — it is Russian, of course. As a matter of fact the text on the flier above is in Russian, not Ukrainian, which is turning more and more into an artificial language.

DIPLOMATIC WAR: RUSSIA TO EXPEL 755 US DIPLOMATS AND STAFF
Putin has announced that the staff of the American embassy in Moscow, as well as consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok are to be reduced by 755 people. This will bring the US diplomatic and support staff in Russia to 455 people, down from 1100, which will be on par with the number of Russian diplomatic and support staff in the US. Both US diplomatic and technical staff has to leave the country by September 1.
Moscow also announced that US diplomatic missions in Russia are losing the use of storage facilities in Chertanovo area of Moscow, as well as the embassy dacha resort in Serebryany Bor near Moscow.

Side note about color revolution in Russia, pro-West ‘opposition’ and Navalny
I should mention that Trump recently announced that the US ambassador and much of the staff in Russia would be replaced soon. It’s not clear yet what form it would take, but there is a possibility of more future Russian sanctions against new US staff, most, if not all of whom tend to be engaged in creating a color revolution and regime change in Russia. As the 2018 Presidential Election in Russia nears, the US embassy spies have tripled their efforts to destabilize Russia.
A notorious recent example was how in the middle of a local election US diplomats were caught on camera meeting with opposition leader Alexey Navalny. Similar documented meetings, including passing on of suitcases full of cash took place in the past. Some of that had been caught on camera and shown on national Russian TV.
Navalny is well-known for his unsanctioned, openly manipulative and provocative rallies in Moscow, the latest of which was a provocation during a Russian State holiday, subjecting unsuspecting holiday-goers with families and small children to danger in the center of Moscow. Navalny was also exposed for recruiting young teenagers to do his bidding, who were promised a good payday for coming out to protest (sounds familiar — Kiev Maidan anyone?). Per Russian sources, Alexey Navalny had previously been exposed in various journalistic investigations as a CIA asset on US payroll.
The true popular support of Navalny and other anti-Putin, pro-West ‘opposition’ leaders is anywhere between 1 and 2 percent, as previous elections showed. However, using the support and training US and their vassal Poland provide, they make a lot of noise on social media and in streets, attempting to reproduce the Kiev Maidan 2014 scenario. Are they really this stupid and don’t get it that Ukraine scenario is impossible in Russia, that the population will simply come out and bury them, should they try anything like that? In part, yes, they are that stupid. After all, it did work for them to dismantle the Soviet Union. They run on the old CIA playbook inertia, failing to grasp that today’s Russia, and Putin as Russia’s leader, are a completely different story.
But in part, they don’t care if they achieve their ultimate goal or not. Plan B involves simply destabilizing Russia, weakening Putin and miring Russia in internal problems, so that Russia and Putin cannot participate effectively in their role as The Great Balancer of the Planet Earth. If they can somehow make Putin so weak and compromised that he would not run for presidency next year, that would be their ultimate wet dream (obviously, NOT gonna happen).

This wolf in sheep’s clothing, universally hated in Russia, is now engaged through his Twitter account in very skillfully igniting discord between Russia and US, and Russia and Ukraine. As I said in above-linked article, when they choose to use their talents for evil, all of us suffer.

As usual, Putin waited till last second with his ‘US diplomatic staff reduction’ move and gave as much benefit of the doubt to Trump administration as possible. And as usual, Putin’s move is surgically designed and carefully thought through.
If you recall, just as he was leaving the White House in December, Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats, giving them and their families, including school children, hardly 48 hours to leave the country. Check out my December 2016 article: I Hate Being Right! Obama/US expel 35 Russian diplomats. Lada Ray analysis and calibrations. This was done in a notoriously cruel and inhumane fashion, so that families would be unable to settle their financial, housing and school affairs. In fact, they hardly had any time to pack.
Obama also took away two Russian diplomatic resorts, where the children of diplomats could go to summer camp and where families went for R&R. One such resort was not far from Washington DC. In 1977, The Soviet government officially purchased the compound for $1.2 mln.
Usually, such diplomatic compounds would be swapped between countries, based on mutual agreement. For instance, there was an agreement between the USSR, inherited by Russia, and USA about mutual exchange of properties in each country, to be used for diplomats and their families as private resorts or other needs. If the US allotted a piece of such real estate to Russia (USSR) in the US, a comparable piece of real estate had to be allotted to the USA in Russia.
The problem is that the resort near Washington DC wasn’t even a part of the exchange deal. It was purchased for $1.2 mln fair and square, and was fully owned by Russia. Therefore, taking away that particular resort amounts to an illegal expropriation of private property by the US government, using threats and force. This never happened even at the height of the Cold War. And you still think the USSR was bad?
I described why this was done by the USA right before the New Year – Christmas holidays, in the above referenced article: I Hate Being Right! Obama/US expel 35 Russian diplomats.
The first words ‘I hate being right’ refer to the fact that I predicted things like this would happen in my bestselling Earth Shift Report 16: US ELECTIONS & WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER (release Oct. 20-21, 2016).
In the report I predicted that Trump would be put in a straitjacket so he would not be able to fulfil his campaign promises. I also said that there would be no need to assassinate him, that a whole big and all-encompassing campaign would be designed around him and his people, in order to sabotage anything he tried to change, until he would be forced to cave in and make deals in order to simply survive.
The frantic activity to sabotage Russia-US relations in late December by Obama, when usually a lame duck president would be playing golf, accounts for the fact that the outgoing administration had to create as many obstacles to improving Russia-US relations as possible. As we remember, ‘improving Russia-US relations’ was one of the key promises of the Trump campaign, which no doubt helped him win presidency.

Just a week into Trump being in office it was already abundantly clear that he would quickly cave in and try to make deals with those who did everything to sabotage him — in order to survive. 4D WAR BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW: TRUMP’S STRAITJACKET & NEW ANTI-RUSSIAN SANCTIONS
In my writings and talks, I also explained why Russia did not retaliate as soon as the Russian diplomats were expelled and Russian property was expropriated by the USA. Putin and Russia understood what was happening. They were graciously giving the Trump administration time to settle in and act accordingly. One of the promises Trump made early on was that once in office, he would immediately take steps to return Russian properties and diplomats. It never happened. Russians still waited, because during phone calls, Trump explained to ‘dear Vladimir’ that he was in a tight spot: recall the phrase I coined while predicting this outcome: ‘Trump’s straitjacket.’
July 7-8 G20 in Hamburg came, along with the much-anticipated meeting between Putin/Lavrov and Trump/ Tillerson. Discussed were Syria, Ukraine and N. Korea, as well as anti-Russian sanctions and China. The promise by Trump administration to return Russian diplomats and properties was raised more than once during negotiations, according to Russian FM Lavrov. After the meeting, Lavrov stated, with a very disappointed expression on his face, that no progress on that front was achieved and that the work would continue.
Let’s recall that the only progress that was achieved during G20 Trump-Putin meeting, as far as Russia-US cooperation goes, was on Syria. This corresponds with my EARTH SHIFT WEBINAR 1: WILL TRUMP SURVIVE HIS FIRST TERM prediction, where I said that I am reasonably skeptical (I tried to break the bad news slowly and mildly) about Trump being able to turn around relations with Russia due to his tight straitjacket, and that the only cooperation between Russia and US I can see is in Syria — and only tactical, only in small ways, nothing substantial or truly groundbreaking.
Trump’s straitjacket turned out very tight; it was constructed solidly and much faster than many of my readers thought possible. That is because they didn’t waste any time: Plan B was already in motion even before US election, when it was becoming clear that Trump could win, while Hillary was not fit for office. And what did you think, they’d wait, naively hoping their candidate would win? These forces, lurking in the dark, work on contingencies months and even years ahead, depending on the situation.
Speaking of planning… I am sure Russia was preparing the US diplomats expulsion months ahead as well, but was giving Trump/Tillerson the benefit of the doubt till last second. In the true fashion of the Great Balancer and Harmonizer, Russia wanted to see whether it was possible to resolve the issue without rocking the boat and without wrecking the US-Russia relationship even further.
However, instead of any sort of return gesture of good will, typically for the aggressively imbalanced West, Russia received new sanctions. These new sanctions, passed by the Congress by a landslide (only 3 were against), target Russia’s very economic livelihood: the Energy Sector. They also target one of the key Russian infrastructure projects to the EU: Nord Stream 2. In fact, the document published by Congress, which details sanctions against three main US enemies, Russia, Iran and N. Korea, dedicates two-thirds of its pages to Russia. It states point-blank that the goal of the US is to sabotage Nord Stream 2 at all cost.
Trump didn’t sign the new sanctions into law yet, but there is no chance of his vetoing them as the Congress adopted them practically anonymously and presidential veto can be easily overcome. This is that ‘Trump’s straitjacket’ — in action. This is that by-partisan war against Trump in full swing, of which I warned in Earth Shift Report 16 and EARTH SHIFT WEBINAR 1.
Therefore, dear readers, you can forget about Trump if you still had any illusions.
By the way, look at what happened with the repeal of Obamacare, and look at the number McCain has pulled on the Senate floor. As I advised you all in 2015-16: forget old divisions on democrats vs. republicans, left vs. right wing. This is all so 20th century!
The new No. 1 telltale litmus test of who is who is how they feel and act regarding Russia. No. 2: how they feel about US hegemony and bases all over the world. Once you have done these two tests, you can know for sure if such and such politician deserves your vote.
In this regard, I would like to ask you all, my dear American readers. Who has voted in a Congress full of rabid Russophobes? The Congress represents in a nutshell the American people. Is that what Americans really are?
VP Mike Pence has indicated that Trump will be signing the new anti-Russian sanctions because ‘of Russia’s destabilizing role in Ukraine.’ In other words, Trump completely caved in to survive his first term, as predicted. But it’s very doubtful he will, also as predicted. I’ll monitor this situation. But my general advice: forget Trump, he is finished — CONSIDER THIS MY NEW PREDICTION.
Speaking of which, the rumor is Tillerson can’t wait to leave his post as Secretary of State. It’s visible to the naked eye that he is experiencing threats and huge pressure, and cannot control his own employees. Don’t blame him, ultimately, he values his life too. But he will (most likely) stay till the end of this year. I am not too concerned about the likes of Tillerson. These types always morph and adapt to whatever comes their way, they easily betray their principles and promises, if it suits them. Tillerson, just like Trump, may have had some relatively good ideas about making up with Russia, etc., but he, along with Trump, can easily forget those ideas, and make deals with the devil in order to come out of this situation with a personal gain, or at least with as little loss as possible.
However, the point is Trump is losing allies and shedding people left and right. Very soon he’ll be left all alone and will cave in completely.
4D WARS INTENSIFY: US-RUSSIA GAS WAR, EUROPE & NORD STREAM 2
The new anti-Russian sanctions target Western and Central Europe and those EU companies that are participating in Nord Stream 2. The enthusiasm for Nord Stream 2 in Europe has been huge. Something to the tune of $5.5 euros was pledged by EU investors immediately, before the construction began. At this point the Nord Stream pledge should be bigger than that.
Germany is the biggest investor. In addition to pledged billions, it has vested interest and direct participation in the construction. Germany supplies the gas pipes for the project, those same pipes that are targeted by new sanctions.
Italy, Austria, Hungary, Finland and others also pledged billions and participation. Germany is the hardest hit, but all these countries are in shock. After all, they are so used to doing what US tells them to do. Now they find themselves in an unnatural territory. There is much hurt feeling that ‘the US has betrayed its biggest ally EU.’ It took them this long to figure it out? I was warning EU about it since 2014. There is also noise in the EU about possible return anti-US sanctions, but do the brainwashed and sold-out EU elites have the courage and will to act?
Ultimately, it all depends on whether Germany will take the lead in the rebellion against the US, as only Germany pulls enough wight. I can tell you that Merkel won’t — she is too far gone. And this is why I have predicted since 2016 that Merkel would lose her election in the autumn of 2017!
The only hope is that the newly elected chancellor will be less sold-out and a little more courageous. However, the prognosis is not very good, despite the fact that German and European companies will suffer huge losses and for some the inability to benefit from Nord Stream 2 will be a kiss of death. When I say ‘for some,’ I mean not just companies, but whole countries. Austria and Hungary are very worried because for them Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream are the only possibility to ensure a secure gas supply for years to come.
Speaking of US lap dogs and French poodles! The moment US Congress passed anti-Russian sanctions, France withdrew its 2 bln euro investment in Nord Stream 2.
Remember the first round of anti-Russian sanctions in 2014 and how France was forced by US to forfeit its delivery of the Navy carrier it had built for Russia? A billion+ project was literally thrown away. Russia got its money back through court, and although some sort of reduced deal was made to sell the ship to a third party, France lost both money and business reputation as a result. After that, India pulled out of lucrative deals with France.
This time, France decided not to wait and withdrew its Nord Stream 2 investment even before Trump signed the new anti-Russian sanctions.
The reason many European countries are worried is Russia’s 2016 announcement that Ukraine transit will be discontinued permanently as soon as the present transit contract expires on January 1, 2019. After that, Russia plans to let the Soviet-built pipe running through Ukraine to rot out unused. This would take the blackmail leverage away from Kiev: it won’t be able to blackmail either Moscow or EU, using its gas transiter status.
However, this announcement by Russia does a lot more. It also ensures that after January 1, 2019 USA loses all leverage over Russia and EU from the side of Ukraine. As I pointed out before, the fascist Kiev junta, and by extension, the occupied by them Ukraine, is used as a ram against Russia. But it’s also used as a blackmail tool against Europe/EU, and especially Germany. But not only Germany; many countries are feeling the pinch, including Austria, Finland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia, to name a few.
USA cannot afford this poison anti-Russian thorn it has created to be rendered useless. This is why Nord Stream 2 has to be sabotaged at all cost.
Many experts have said that the reason US wants to sabotage Nord Stream 2 is because USA wants to squeeze Russia out European market in order to sell their own fracking LNG gas to Europe. That’s just silly. Europeans aren’t that stupid and they know how to count their money. US fracking gas will be 3-4 times more expensive than Russia gas. It’s only Poland and the Baltics that could consider such ripoff to be a good deal. Russia doesn’t care about either Poland or Baltics, but Russia does care about lucrative business with the EU, and would like to keep EU markets, if at all possible.
The true reason for the new US sanctions is geopolitical, not economic. Even ‘Washington dreamers’ aren’t stupid enough to think EU will buy their gas at such prices and before infrastructure is even built. I spoke about this when Ukraine coup and anti-Russian sanctions began in 2014, and we are back to this yet again. What US is after is three things:
- Sabotage and keep down Russia – The Great Balancer as much as possible, preventing Russia’s normal live and steady development, if it’s not possible to annihilate Russia altogether.
- Sabotage and weaken Europe / EU as much as possible, as USA’s main technological competitor. But it goes further than that: a weaker Europe is a more subservient and less sovereign Europe. US is desperately clinging to the old 20th century model, under which weakened by WWII Europe was completely under US and did what the big boss said. US wants to keep that status quo, which is slowly slipping away, due to the Great Earth Shift.
- Keep Ukraine on life support, also completely subservient to the US, as a poison thorn in Russia’s side. This thorn can be activated at any moment to cause pain for Russia, but if need be, it can also be turned against the EU. US is desperate to keep Ukraine as that very important poison thorn. If Russian gas transit through Ukraine stops, then the role of Ukraine as anti-Russia on Russian borders strongly diminishes, until US has to abandon ‘the project Ukraine’ altogether. Trump has talked about slowly disengaging from Ukraine, but his surroundings and Congress won’t let him. The likes of McCain and Pence, and just about everyone else, will make him toe the line. The goal here is not to support Ukraine — they could care less about the people of Ukraine suffering and dying. The only use for Ukraine, from those dark entities’ perspective, is to use it as a poison pill, or as a ram against Russia and Europe. This is why they will support Ukraine till the last possibility.
Therefore, the main goal of the new anti-Russian sanctions is to slow down as much as possible the Nord Stream 2 construction, with the ultimate goal of weakening both Russia and EU.
In conclusion, please recall my 2014 prediction, which may come true, after all. As soon as the EU adopted first anti-Russian sanctions, I predicted that if Russia feels restricted by the West in any way, off to the East Russia goes. I said that Russia would quickly switch her focus to Asia and China. That’s exactly what happened: Russia and China became tighter than ever; various Asian and Middle Eastern countries beg for an increased Russian presence. (Read: Great Balancer Theory in Action! In the same set of 2014 predictions, I also said that as a result of sanctions EU may in several years time lose Russia as gas supplier and begin experiencing gas shortages. Today, July 31, 2017 Russia is preparing Plan B, in case EU caves in to US sanctions. Russian Plan B implies switching to alternative markets and alternative ways of gas delivery, which can cause serious gas shortages in certain EU countries, starting with Germany.
Let’s see if Germany and Europe in general have enough common sense and any sense of self-preservation left to act before it’s too late.

Fake News vs Truth: ‘Power Shortages’ and Crimean Bridge – How the West Sabotages Crimea
LADA RAY SAYS: Dear readers, the referenced article is fake news and lame propaganda. And it’s written with an indecent kind of glee, which attests to a low calibration of the ‘journalists’ behind it.
The real truth:
Crimean power now is already enough to sustain the needs of citizens, plus the present tourism volume, which is going up and has reached 6-7 million guests a year. There were severe power shortages after the Ukraine ukro-nazis and Crimean Tartar Mejlis terrorists blew up powerlines to Crimea in December 2015. This left 2.5 mln people without power and heat for two weeks during winter.
I don’t recall the ‘liberals’ and ‘humanitarians’ in the West expressing indignation over such terrorism, helping alleviate the Crimean humanitarian catastrophe, or protesting the actions of their puppet Kiev regime.
Russia quickly built the underwater ‘power bridge’ to Crimea, consisting of four bundles of power lines and telephone cables. Russia quickly delivered additional power generators (incidentally, with Chinese help). Also, Crimean old power stations have been revamped and expanded. As a consequence, power shortages are completely gone.
However, there is a truth to this: more power is needed and the new local power stations must be built… in order to grow and expand tourism to Crimea. This is the main developmental goal for the peninsula. Crimea has the capacity to receive over 10 million tourists per year, but under Kiev it only was able to receive a fraction of this number. During Soviet times the annual inflow was 10 million and above. During the 25 years of Ukraine ‘independence’ under Kiev regime Crimea turned into a pale, fledgling copy of its former flourishing self. When the neglected Soviet infrastructure has been refurbished, currently constructed new infrastructure is fully up and running, and additional power plants are built, Crimea will get back to the Soviet tourism numbers. Most likely, those numbers will be exceeded within several years.
The new power plants are a strategic investment in Crimea’s future economy.
Sure, it’s hard to disagree with this statement: the West will do absolutely everything to sabotage Russia and Crimea. That said, the Crimea power plant ‘turbine situation’ is a storm in a teacup. It’ll be resolved easily and soon. Won’t say how, so some potentially unfriendly forces who may read this don’t have time to sabotage it.
Let’s never forget that fake news is the new chosen weapon in the global info war against Russia
I basically predicted, or perhaps rather preempted, this would happen when I wrote the following pieces in 2014, 2015 and 2016. There was no term fake news yet – I called this phenomenon ‘hoaxes’ and ‘targeted info dumps.’

Weapons of info war
There is an all out info war against Russia. Ukraine and other E. European ‘countries,’ such as the Baltics and Poland, are at the forefront of this info war. Ukraine and others’ ministries of propaganda spread fake news about ‘protests’ in Russia, ‘hunger and shortages’ in Donbass and Crimea. Western publications happily parrot all this. Western sources are routinely caught quoting obscure Ukrainian publications, known for spreading hoaxes, fake news and targeted info dumps. No facts are checked.
Please be careful what you read and whom you trust. Many so-called ‘alternative’ publications are as, or even more, guilty of spreading fake news and lies! I warned my readers about this growing problem as early as in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 1, as well as in other above-referenced articles. Now, in 2017, I see that many people finally began talking about the fake news problem. I recommend my above-linked articles as eye-opening reads to avoid falling for it in the future.
The truth about Crimean Bridge
The above-referenced article was a very clear example of the fake news at work. Another such example is fake news about The Crimean Bridge. I’ve heard lots of fake news originating from Ukraine and supposedly Russian ‘opposition’ sources, such as Navalny, who in fact are on the payroll of Washington. These fake news contended that Russia is lying and that no Crimean Bridge is being constructed as it’s an impossible engineering feat; that all the money has been stolen; that Crimea will always remain a hostage of Ukraine… This usually goes accompanied with fake pics and videos. It appears that even the Western fake news propaganda didn’t so much fall for it. The reason is simple: any satellite footage will prove these fake news wrong. Therefore, the Crimean Bridge in the West is met with a stony silence, accompanied with futile attempts at anti-Russian sanctions.
The truth is, The Crimean Bridge is being built well ahead of schedule and it will soon alleviate the transportation pressure on the peninsula. Another investment in the bright future of Crimea it has been dubbed ‘The Construction Project of the Century.’ It is a rare engineering feat indeed.
There were many famous attempts to build a bridge from mainland to Crimea in different eras: by Russian Tsars, Stalin and even Hitler during WWII. All had failed. The stories are fascinating and I’ll tell them to you in a future book. This is the first time such bridge will become a reality – and what a reality it will be soon!

Ukraine starts energy blockade of Donbass, but Crimea volunteers to help
On another note, two days ago Ukraine has disconnected electric power supply to Lugansk Republic (LPR). Lugansk is now experiencing power shortages, much like Crimea did in 2015. Donetsk (DPR) power lines from Ukraine are still working, however, it is expected that Kiev will turn off the electric power to Donetsk as well.
In this situation, Crimea has volunteered to share its know-how in dealing with energy blockade by Kiev. It is expected to dispatch to Lugansk and Donetsk those surplus portable emergency generators Russia had purchased to save the people of Crimea in 2015.
Why did Kiev disconnect power to LPR? After recent blockade by ukro-nazis of Donetsk and Lugansk coal, Kiev ‘discontinued’ purchases of the Donbass coal. As a result of this new stupidity by Kiev junta, Ukraine’s own power stations and industrial giants are going cold one after another. Kiev is quickly losing what little industrial base it had left after 2014 coup. Let’s recall what I discussed in other Ukraine articles: the energy grid and industrial production of Ukraine was built by the USSR as one integral system, and Donbass was part of this big system. The power plant located on Ukrainian side that used to send energy to Lugansk in exchange for coal and a hefty payment is down to 1 month or so in coal supplies, and prospects for more coal are very dim. By not delivering energy to LPR, the power plant may survive a month or two longer. But that’s all the time it has: after that it will go cold, with workers losing their jobs.
What will Kiev’s energy blockade of Lugansk and Donetsk achieve? Nothing, except irrevocably distancing DPR and LPR from Ukraine and expediting the republics’ integration into Russia. Crimea has already announced that it’ll help the break-away republics achieve this goal.

Dying Western Neo-Liberalism and EU Revolt against Russian Sanctions
In the previous post All Putin Speech/ Q&A videos at Valdai Forum 2016 in Sochi in one place (Eng) I shared with you Vladimir Putin’s speech and remarks at the Valdai Discussion Forum 2016 in Sochi.
Out of various Putin’s remarks, this is the one that stuck out for me.
The former president of Finland, Tarja Halonen, who on the video (click on All Putin Speech/ Q&A videos at Valdai Forum 2016) sits on Putin’s right (in gray suit), in her speech remarked that the bells of Finland toll for the killed children of Aleppo. Putin’s response: sorry they toll only for Aleppo; what about the killed children of Mosul (LR: Bombed as we speak by the US-led coalition, where the humanitarian catastrophe is horrendous, per reports. And indeed, where was Finland’s compassion when the children of Iraq, Libya, Serbia and Afghanistan were dying under the US and EU bombs? What about all those poor children being killed by US and Saudi strikes in Yemen?)
In other words, the hypocrisy of the Western, blindly double standard, neo-liberal mentality is clearly visible in this example – one of very many. The amazing thing is that Tarja Halonen seriously thinks that she’s saying the right and honorable thing, while the double standards and the blinders on her eyes are glaringly obvious to anyone who has eyes. And the sad thing is that she isn’t the worst kind of Western politician. She actually wants some sort of dialogue and cooperation with Russia, at least from Finland’s economy survival standpoint. She tries to reach out and make some sort of feeble steps towards Russia.
In truth, Finland certainly has a closer and more profitable relationship with Russia than most. Finland was for years a part of the Russian Empire, and it received independence from the hands of Lenin after the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution, whose 99th anniversary we’ll be marking in a few short days, on November 7, 2016.

Next year we’ll be marking a milestone of 100 years for this important and controversial event, that shook the world and changed the global map in the 20th century. I’ll talk about the TRUE meaning and consequences of both 1917 Russian revolutions next year. You may be shocked to discover a lot of things you never suspected – and it’s NOT what the Western ‘gurus’ who have no idea what they are talking about, tell you. Stay tuned for the REAL TRUTH!
Back to Finland and EU
Finland always profited from its ‘in between’ status. During the Cold War it was used as an intermediary between Russia and the West. Even when Russia’s trade with the West was on the fritz, Finnish agricultural products were in abundance in Russia (I recall that from my childhood).
As to the Tarja Halonen remark, you simply don’t say a silly thing like that to Putin, otherwise you’re just begging to get the answer you deserve. Putin’s too sharp to let the silliness slide. (Same applies to me, incidentally, so be careful.)
The problem is, these poor Western politicians have been put in such straight jacket by their life-time of Manchurian Candidate training and neo-lib brainwashing that even if Tarja Halonen understood that saying what she said makes her a laughing-stock, she’d still be obliged to say it because otherwise she’d get crucified by her Transatlantic bosses and Finnish MSM for not bringing it up. And that could affect adversely her ‘speaking’, ‘consulting’ and book publishing fees, which for Western ex-presidents is a way to get a nice kick-back in return for being good US vassals.
Another recent example of how it gets them in trouble: look what happened with French President Hollande after he wasn’t sure whether he should, or shouldn’t, meet with Putin. Putin cancelled his French visit, following which Hollande received a major backlash from his own electorate and MSM, making him un-electable in next election. I discussed the Hollande gaffe in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 15: PUTIN’S PLUTONIUM ULTIMATUM TO THE US.
Examples of something positive happening in the EU abound! The people are slowly, but surely, awakening, questioning the old paradigms and the usual Western BS. And this is just the beginning.
The signs of the awakening are visible in both US and Europe. We spoke about the US electorate rebellion in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 16: US ELECTIONS & WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER.
Recently, Italy led a revolt in the EU against new Syria anti-Russian sanctions. US/Obama/Biden tried to push the new round of sanctions with all their might for a month. Finally, EU bureaucrats and heads of state gathered to adopt them. The three countries proposing sanctions within the EU were: UK, France an Germany. There was, as they originally announced, every intention to adopt a new round of sanctions.
Suddenly, Italian PM Matteo Renzi vetoed them, supported by several other states (Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Slovakia and Spain – I hope I didn’t miss anyone).
Brexit and UK side note:
Incidentally, notice how tight the post-Brexit UK is with Germany and France. As if nothing happened. The Brexit negotiations have been postponed once, then again. Believe me, they’ll find ways to postpone them once more. Now recall my prediction made in ESR 12: THE FUTURE OF THE EU (BREXIT, TTIP/TPP & EU Revolts). I specifically said that regardless of the referendum result, UK, US and EU will find ways to swindle electorate and postpone the actual UK exit out of the EU. What I predicted was that ‘they’ll make it look as if UK exited EU, but in reality they’ll keep it in for as long as possible.’ I also identified the time frame: at least until after Russian Presidential Elections 2018. If they can, they’ll drag it out longer.
In other words, yet another LADA RAY PREDICTION is coming true!

Oh yes, just recalled my other prediction:
The revolt against the US will intensify close to US elections; various countries and their leaders will suddenly find the courage they never had – in the period of several months preceding US elections. This is due to the fact that Obama is a lame duck and no real recourse (aka, revenge for disobedience) from US will be forthcoming, plus, due to the Trump phenomenon and the hope that the new president would be different. It’s a certain risk, but it’s still the best time to rebel and try to distance your country from the US, as its grip on its vassals has been the loosest for a long time. As we see, this is indeed what’s happening now. Remember the Philipines Duterte’s rebellion? And now also the EU rebellion.

Back to today’s topic:
After Italy and others’ revolt, in order to safe face, EU had to say that they really never meant to pass those new sanctions; that there were no definitive proposals from anyone… really.
It helps that Italian business is crying bloody murder due to anti-Russian sanctions. Italy is second only to Germany in its sanctions-related losses. Italian business people have been pushing for the removal of anti-Russian sanctions for over 2 years. Five regional Italian parliaments adopted their own resolutions recognizing Crimea as part of Russia, and began doing brisk business with Crimea, bypassing the EU laws. This effectively means that Italy stands to benefit most after sanctions are off. All the best business deals with Russia will already be theirs when the rest of EU countries finally are allowed by their ‘democratic’ regimes to do business with Russia.
Meanwhile, while EU is suffering the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions through the shrinking bilateral EU-Russia trade, US-Russia trade increased in the past two and a half years, despite the US-initiated sanctions.
EU, however under the US thumb it is, finally grasped a simple fact that in succumbing to US pressure, they got the short end of the stick. The rebellion is brewing. After the Italian revolt, Czech President Miloš Zeman announced that it was time to create a coalition against sanctions and to restore relations with Russia. Speaking to Czech farmers, who are some of the worst affected by sanctions, Zeman generated a storm of applause when he announced that he was ready to spear-head the coalition of EU states against the sanctions and asked other willing EU countries to side with him.
Perhaps, this will become the ‘coalition of the willing’ redefined: a true ‘coalition of the willing’?
EU revolt against anti-Russian sanctions:
Yep, the revolt is brewing. The longer these fork-tongued EU bureaucrats and US Manchurian Candidates (Federica Mogherini, Hollande, Merkel, UK elites, Polish US vassals) ignore it, pretending it doesn’t exist, the worse will the outcome for them be.

Lady Lada, Putin has signed a decree pardoning “Nadezhda Savchenko” recently! i just don’t know what to say about this !!? Just hope, we do not see her again directing Ukrainian artillery on Donbass & Lugansk, within months ! That would be very sad outcome !
The real reason Putin pardoned Nadezhda Savchenko
Background
Nadezhda Savchenko is a Ukrainian subversive operative and member of the ukro-nazi battalion Aidar. For some incomprehensible reason she is often referred to as ‘pilot,’ which is false since she had never flown a single mission anywhere. The ‘pilot’ title is clearly attached to her to give her more weight. Those who knew her report that she always had sadistic tendencies and enjoyed torturing prisoners.
Savchenko was captured after she subversively and knowingly directed the fire of Ukraine artillery to the territory of DNR, which killed two accredited Russian journalists. She is also accused of directing Ukraine fire against a large crowd of unarmed refugees, many of whom were killed. Savchenko was tried and received 22 years in Russian prison. The Russian trial was accompanied by unprecedented pressure on Russia by the West and the pogroms of the Russian embassy and consulates in Ukraine.
During her trial Savchenko behaved like a crazed maniac, screaming out profanities, showing rude gestures to the judge, jumping up and down chairs. Her ‘support club’ made a lot of noise during court sessions, waving Ukrainian flags and screaming ukro-nazi slogans. All this happened in Russia, which, as we may conclude, is the most liberal, forgiving and democratic country in the world.
I can only imagine what would happen to Savchenko and her bouncing of the wall supporters if they tried such stunts in a US court. Savchenko would have never seen the light of day again, and said supporters would be in jail before they could say ‘oops.’
Certainly, none of this would have been possible in Ukraine at all. If anyone ever dared to publicly support during their Kiev trial the two Russians, Erofeev and Alexandrov, who ended up being exchanged for Savchenko, they would simply be tortured and killed. That’s exactly what happened to the defense attorney representing one of the Russians. A well-known Ukrainian lawyer Yury Grabovsky, originally from Odessa, was defending Alexander Alexandrov. According to testimonials, he managed to make a pretty good case against conviction. While Grabovsky was there, junta simply could not seal the case against the two Russians.
Incidentally, these two Russians were kidnapped by Ukraine subversives inside DNR territory, dragged across the border to the Ukrainian side and put on trial on trumped up charges.
How lawyer Yury Grabovsky was killed by Kiev ukro-nazis
Grabovsky, who was too successful in proving the charges of terrorism to be bogus, was kidnapped, tortured and killed. His only crime was doing his job as a public defender. When he didn’t show for trial, his friends became suspicious. To confuse the investigation Grabovsky’s killers for two weeks made bogus entries into Grabovsky’s Facebook page. In these entries, Grabovsky supposedly wrote that he was tired and that he was leaving abroad on vacation. Two things rose red flags: the fact that he was due in court and the uncharacteristically illiterate style of writing.
Grabovsky’s body was found over two weeks after his disappearance. It was dumped in an abandoned orchard very far from Kiev, where the Russians’ trial was taking place. Ukro-nazi thugs responsible for his death published his video admission, extracted under torture. In it, disoriented and, apparently, in much pain Grabovsky is made to repeat after the invisible man, whose voice sounds very young – no more than 20 or so. This young man forces Grabovsky to say that he was wrong to defend the ‘Russian terrorist,’ that he asks for forgiveness and that he won’t do it again.

(I could, but I deliberately won’t publish a photo of the murderer Nadezhda Savchenko. Don’t want to sally my blog with such filth.)
I watched Grabovsky’s ‘apology’ video when it first came out (there may still be something left on YouTube, but I wouldn’t hold my breath – YT is usually very good at removing the truth). I had chills watching it.
All smart and good people left Ukraine – only the dregs are left
As I said many times before, all people with brains, hearts and reason left the territory we so far still call Ukraine. The smartest ones left 20-30 years ago. They moved to Russia or other countries, where their talents could be appreciated. Millions of others left later. By 2014, the few decent ones that were still left to hold down the fort were either killed, disappeared, thrown in jail or chased out of the country by Kiev junta and ukro-nazis. The very, very few brave people who are still there and who have not submitted to the open ukro-fascism, are in grave danger.
The murders of Grabovsky, journalist Oles Buzina, activist Oleg Kalashnikov, as well as a long string of high profile fake ‘suicides’ prove this beyond any doubt.
Those who call the shots in Ukraine are the worst dregs of society, outright criminals and vicious thugs. The rest is the silent, scared to death, confused and desperate population. And all this disaster is supported, encouraged and egged on by the US and EU. A very sad and shameful state of affairs indeed.
Humanitarian exchange: Russians Erofeev and Alexandrov swapped for Savchenko
This is the video of the two men landing in Russia, after a year in Ukrainian prison.
Below is a video of the young wives of the Russian officers Erofeev and Alexandrov saying how hard it was for them to live through their husbands’ capture and sadistic trial, in which they were denied any semblance of normal defense and were constantly intimidated. But, the women say, they always knew their loved ones wouldn’t be abandoned by the country. As we see from the Grabovsky story, there was a very legitimate reason to fear for the men’s lives, should they remain in Ukraine.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the mother and sister of the two slain Russian journalists, who are dead because of Savchenko, asked to release her for humanitarian reasons in order to exchange her for Erofeev and Alexandrov. Peskov said that the request from the two women came in March 2016.

How Russians feel about Savchenko and her pardon
There are many voices saying Russia should have made Savchenko serve the entire term and that pardoning her and sending her back is like announcing an open season for kidnapping or killing Russians in Ukraine and DNR/LNR. Such people think that this would only encourage more crimes by ukro-nazis. There is some logic to that. Others say Savchenko should have been exchanged for as many people as possible, perhaps, for all political prisoners Kiev has in prisons, and then some.
Presently, there are many unhappy people, who do not accept that Savchenko was let go that easily; people are indignant at how she behaved in court and the fact that she made an open mockery of the court, her sentence and crime.
This mockery was parroted and multiplied in Ukraine, EU and Anglo-American countries. Russians are absolutely outraged at how the West behaves in this matter, as well as others (which we will discuss in the following articles).
Many Russians are now convinced USA and NATO want to start nuclear World War III – and US and EU have no one to blame for it but themselves!
THE REAL REASON SAVCHENKO WAS RELEASED
I’ll give you my view of why Savchenko was pardoned and released.
Savchenko = bargaining chip
Firstly, I believe that she was from the start perceived by Russian leadership as a bargaining chip. She was taken prisoner, tried and convicted, while the hysteria in Ukraine and West around her intensified. While unpleasant, I believe that Russians wanted this hysteria to take place, for one purpose: to hype up her value as a bargaining chip.
There were constant screams from Ukraine and West: ‘free Nadezhda Savchenko.’ Savchenko kept announcing her fake ‘dry hunger strikes,’ which no one believed. After a dry hunger strike a person can’t even stand on one’s feet, while she was jumping up and down during trial and screaming out obscenities. Yulia Timoshenko tried to capitalize on Savchenko’s fame by nominating her to Ukraine Rada from her party. While remaining in Russian jail, Savchenko, bypassing any imaginable laws, suddenly became a Rada deputy. I believe Savchenko was also ‘elected’ in absentia to Europarliament (illegally, of course).
It appears the Rada isn’t a zoo enough – Savchenko will definitely enhance its ‘Lord of the Flies’ look. Europarliament is right behind the Ukraine Rada in that.
All the above hype made Savchenko – nothing in real life – a very valuable bargaining chip.
Poroshenko vs Timoshenko
One of the things many overlook is that Poroshenko is mortally afraid of Savchenko returning to Kiev in her present capacity as a perceived victor. With her loud and black mouth, plus no brains to speak of, she may become someone who may damage Poroshenko’s reputation and wreak havoc in the Rada. She may cause havoc in Europarliament, as well.
Poroshenko is afraid that she will be used to rival him. Yulia Timoshenko will do everything to wind her up and set her loose on her rival. Timoshenko is licking her lips at the presidential post, dreaming about unseating Poroshenko. One possibility: she can announce her candidacy together with Savchenko. Considering how stupid and deranged Savchenko is, it’ll be nice to see these spiders in a jar devouring each other.
Basically, they all do what US ambassador, Nuland and Biden say. I described how it all works in ESR3: OLIGARCH WARS. Incidentally, US ambassador Payet, who orchestrated Kiev maidan and 2014 coup together with Nuland, is out, replaced with another colonial ruler. But it’s still the same drill. That said, it’s getting really hard for the US to keep all these spiders in Ukrainian jar under control. Soon, it will prove impossible.
If Savchenko remained in Russian jail
Another thing to keep in mind about Savchenko is that for the duration of her being in a Russian jail she would be creating anti-Russian propaganda ops all around her persona by constantly going on fake hunger strikes and yelling and screaming for Western audiences how she is being mistreated.
Then, there is the issue of her security. It is almost certain that she would have been killed in Russian jail within 1-2 years.
By whom? Either by Ukraine operatives or by CIA, probably working together. Why? Because to them she is a lot more valuable dead than alive. Her dying in Russian jail would be yet another GOLDEN opportunity to vilify Russia and get a new round of sanctions going.
Hermitage Capital, Magnitsky Act and anti-Russian conspiracy
This is not a supposition, but an almost 100% assurance. Do you recall the death in a Russian jail of Sergei Magnitsky? Supposedly, Magnitsky died of a heart attack as a result of not being given proper medical care. However, it is well-known in Russia that a member of medical personnel was bribed (it was an infiltration, actually) not to provide medical care when prisoner needed it, resulting in his death. Magnitsky is presented in the West as a lawyer to Hermitage Capital. This is false: Magnitsky was an accountant, not a lawyer. Here’s why it’s important.
Hermitage Capital was a US/UK investment company that was accused by Russian authorities in money laundering and tax avoidance. Magnitsky was the accountant who was in charge of the cooking of the books.
In reality, Hermitage Capital was the front for subversive conspiracy focused on regime change in Russia. It was curated by MI6 and CIA. The goal was to unseat Putin and sabotage Russian industry, leading to the country’s complete disintegration. The supposed investment company Hermitage worked with a very influential pro-West Russian opposition leader, whom it supplied with money, secret intel and instructions.
In THE EARTH SHIFTER and in ESR3: OLIGARCH WARS I described the high-profile case involving oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky and his cronies. Khodorkovsky was nailed on charges of money laundering, while the real charge should have been treason. The Hermitage Capital story is another one in the same vein, the difference being that pro-West political oppositioner was used as a pointman, instead of oligarchs.
In OLIGARCH WARS I also mention another oligarch Boris Berezovsky and the failed plot to blame Putin for his sudden death in London. In the Hermitage Capital conspiracy Berezovsky is important. This story is even more convoluted than Khodorkovsky’s. I have the full material on the recently revealed scandal, who blew the whistle and who was implicated. I may have an Earth Shift Report on that soon (stay tuned!).
Long story short, Magnitsky was very dangerous to CIA alive in jail, where he could eventually start talking, but he was very valuable dead. He conveniently and suddenly dies and now we have the Magnitsky Act.
Wikipedia tells us what it is: The Magnitsky Act, formally known as the Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal and Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012, is a bipartisan bill passed by the U.S. Congress and President Obama in November–December 2012, intending to punish Russian officials responsible for the death of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in a Moscow prison in 2009.
So, If, by some miracle, Ukraine or CIA didn’t get Savchenko in Russian jail, chances are those who suffered from ukro-nazis, battalion Aidar or as a result of Savchenko’s personal actions, would. Frankly, if I were the president of Russia, I wouldn’t want this kind of high maintenance prisoner on my territory. Try her, give her guilty verdict and maximum sentence and then unleash this furious Trojan Horse on Ukraine to undermine it from within – a much better plan.
If she remained, I’d have fully expected Savchenko to die in Russian prison of some mysterious cause, thus triggering US Congress and Europarliament passing ‘the Savchenko Act.’
When she dies in Kiev, it’ll be their problem. In either event, keeping this hysterical and not very bright ukro-nazi alive and happy will be a very big job. Good luck to them – they’ll need it.

In this specific case, she has been exchanged for two Russians, who’d be in grave danger otherwise. This is already a good outcome.
But there is much more going on behind the scenes, and it’ll never be admitted or advertised…
I have been noticing for a period of time that Western investments into Russia have begun accelerating. Recall that I predicted in 2014 that the West would huff and puff for about 2 years after Crimea: sanctions, anti-Russian hysteria, etc. I said in 2014 that it would be just like the 2008 Georgia/S. Ossetia conflict. After 2 years of hysteria, they would begin remembering that they can’t really do much without Russia, such as various peace negotiations as well as business deals and trade relations.
Although Europe seems to be ready to abandon sanctions, US is really standing in the way, stubbornly attempting to prolong sanctions for as long as possible. Obama’s ego is permanently wounded due to his usually looking like a loser compared to Putin. This wounded little ego is one of the reasons.
Considering Obama’s childish pouting and silly resentment of Russia and Putin, an additional push was needed. I am sure that Savchenko’s pardon was used as a bargaining chip in relaxing anti-Russian sanctions. They will keep those sanctions on for a while, probably till the end of year. This has to do, as I said, with Obama’s wounded ego (what do you expect from such little, tiny man). Obama wants to leave office with sanctions intact. Try to save face, count at least this as his ‘victory’…
But what’s impossible to hide is that suddenly more and more European businesses are investing in Crimea and the flow of new Western investments into Russia is substantially up. This, despite sanctions! There is a definite coincidence between Savchenko’s release and sudden blindness of the EU when their businesses break anti-Russian sanctions. This is not to say that it’s all going to be champagne and roses, but I am certain a deal was struck that sanctions would remain in place in name only.
My opinion: this, at least in part, explains frequent recent mystery visits to Russia by Kerry and Nuland (and Kissinger earlier in the year).
Incidentally, this also likely concerns the Nord Stream-2 construction. I would expect an acceleration of this mega-project between Germany and Russia. After Nord Stream-2 is completed, Ukraine will lose its position as the most important transiter of Russian gas to EU. This will make Ukraine un-interesting to the US as a means of blackmailing and inflicting pain on both Russia and EU. As a result, US will release its grip on Ukraine.
In conclusion:
As to the concern that Savchenko may return to direct Ukraine artillery strikes on Donetsk and Lugansk.
That would be really stupid of her, and here’s why. First, her face is now too well-known. Should she be captured again, this time she won’t get out alive – there are too many in Donbass who have a score to settle.
Secondly: she is too famous and ‘valuable’ now. Her card will be played by Timoshenko, who won’t let her go to Donbass, if she can help it. I’m sure others will also try to play her card. She’ll be wined, dined and courted. They’ll try to groom and mold her into something. But I think she is so dim and so stupid that she’ll definitely get herself in trouble within 6-7 months, or better yet, she’ll get the whole Kiev junta in trouble.
In short, a pawn such as Savchenko is very useful as a tool and bargaining chip. She doubles as an unpredictable Trojan Horse.
She’s about to fulfill her purpose. I intend to kick back and watch how Poroshenko and Kiev will manage to keep this loose cannon under control. US will have to work overtime, too. This should be quite a show.

Venice Parliament Votes to Recognize Crimea as Part of Russia
Italy: The regional parliament of Veneto (with capital in Venice) will vote on May 18 whether to recognize Crimea as part of Russia: source.
It also plans to insist that EU removes anti-Russian sanctions. If everything goes to plan, Veneto parliamentarians plan to take their votes to Italian parliament and to EU. Once the regional vote has passed and regardless of how it goes in the country and EU votes, Veneto province plans to unfreeze economic relations with Russia and begin doing business with its big interest, Crimea.
Veneto, one of Italy’s richest regions, loses 1 bln euros annually due to Russian sanctions, while all of Italy loses 3.2 bln annually.
Business contacts between Veneto and Crimea have already begun at the Spring 2016 Crimean Business Forum, which attracted first investments (if memory serves me, something to the tune of 90 bln rubles, which is good, considering sanctions). Italian businesses are some of the most active. Their primary interests are (of course) Crimean wines and tourism. German investors are also quite active – you’d think there were no sanctions whatsoever. Japanese investors are right up there, as well.

The French vote was non-binding. But the Veneto vote, should it pass, will be.

Following the February Ukraine coup, on March 16th, 2014, Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to secede from Ukraine and reunite with Russia. 95% to 97% voted for reunification, depending on the area. Simultaneously, a referendum whether to accept Crimea and Sevastopol as two new subjects of the Russian Federation took place in Russia. 95% of Russians said ‘yes.’
On March 18-19, Crimea and Sevastopol joined the Russian Federation as two newest subjects. The transition went smoothly and peacefully, not a single shot was fired and only two casualties were registered on both sides, shot by a provocateur Ukrainian sniper sent there to attempt inciting violence (by the old CIA playbook).
At the time, 16,000 Russian troops were stationed in Crimea, based on the Black Sea Fleet Sevastopol base lease agreement with Ukraine. Simultaneously, 20,000 Ukrainian troops were stationed on the peninsula as well. Out of these 20,000, about 18,000 Ukraine troops pledged allegiance to Russia, while only 2,000 chose to leave back to Ukraine. They were allowed to leave peacefully and with dignity.
As a result of professional actions of the Russian troops, fleet and politicians, they received a nickname ‘vezhlivie lyudi’ directly translated as ‘the polite people,’ aka, ‘real gentlemen.’
However, none of that mattered. Russia was accused by the West of aggression against poor, weak Ukraine and annexation of part of Ukraine’s territory, Putin was called Hitler and crippling sanctions were imposed on Russia.
The West supported the bloody ukro-nazi Kiev junta against Russia, Crimea and against the people of Donbass, who were also fighting for their independence from the regime that wanted to take away and rewrite their memory, their history and their way of life. The West also supported ukro-nazis and Ukraine ultra-nationalists in their quest to create a fascist state with thousands of political prisoners, torture, kidnappings and lynching, where the rights of the largest, Russian-speaking part of the population were denied.
The West, together with its stooges in Kiev, did everything to isolate and humiliate Russia and its leaders. Vladimir Putin was always the most visible target. But many others were targeted, as well. For example, in 2015 the Head of the Russian Duma Sergei Naryshkin was illegally denied visa to Helsinki, where he was invited to the anniversary of the Helsinki Accords, of which Russia, as the legal heir to the USSR, was a founding member; The Head of the Soviet of the Federation chamber of the Russian Duma Valentina Matvienko in 2015 was illegally denied USA visa, and was unable to come to New York, where she was invited to speak at the UN General Assembly and at the global inter-parliamentary symposium. The exceedingly ultra-nationalist and Russophobic Poland snubbed Putin for an invitation to the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz – the camp that the Soviet Army liberated along with all of Poland!
For 2 years, Ukraine, US and EU did everything to sabotage and stunt Crimea. In 2014 Kiev ukro-nazis destroyed the Russian-built (like most everything that ever was built in Ukraine) North Crimean Canal, which supplied with badly needed water most of the peninsula, leaving it in dire straits.
In 2015, Ukraine began the food blockade of Crimea; in December 2015 Ukraine, aided by some foreign governments (I will disclose who in the upcoming ESR9: CRIMEAN AGENDA) blew up power lines and left 2.5 million people and the entire peninsula without power during the winter.
Two years later, Russia and Crimea survived all the attempts at humiliation, blockade, attacks and sanctions, emerging with flying colors.
As a matter of fact, Russia’s prestige and clout are the highest they have been since the breakup of the USSR. Putin’s global and all-Russian popularity is through the roof at 90%+ approval. Russia’s Syria operation further advanced this clout, making Russia the one and only go-to peacemaker in the Middle East (read upcoming Syria withdrawal article, ESR5 & ESR7).
Call it karma or justice… Let’s compare that to what has happened in the past 2 years to those who tried to isolate and humiliate Russia and Putin. Obama is a disappointment even to his formerly ardent supporters – and as I predicted last year, democrats will pay dearly for their behavior towards Russia during these elections (more on that in my future US elections prediction). Australian and Canadian PMs, who were nasty to Putin and Russia, are gone (does anyone even remember their names?..). Extremely popular before 2014, Merkel is hated in her own country and abroad, and I project her to gradually lose her remaining support soon.
Ukraine PM Yatsenyuk has 0% approval rating; Poroshenko, who has been drowning his sorrows in vodka, holds no power and is hated just as universally; Ukraine has made a nuisance of itself, always complaining about Russia and begging for handouts, which both Europeans and Americans are sick of hearing.
Someone tweeted me recently that Ukraine filed a complaint with WTO that Russia is preventing them from trading with her. This insane asylum, this ‘idiocracy+’ in Kiev, suddenly woke up to realize that they needed trade with Russia after all, since EU imposed strict quotas on Ukraine imports as their rightful reward for signing the ‘EU association and slavery agreement.’ Ukraine’s complaint to WTO about mean Russia, who doesn’t want to trade with them, comes after Ukraine itself broke all ties with Russia, joined sanctions, blockaded Crimea, banned Russian air traffic and blockaded truck traffic, called Russia aggressor, announced that Ukraine was at war with Russia, threatened Russians and Russian-speakers in Ukraine, and applauded ukro-nazi attacks on Russian embassy and consulates.

Look Who’s Finally Waking Up! EU Plan B: ‘Treat Russia Nicely, Stop Being US Stooge’
My readers who follow me regularly know that I’ve dedicated a big part of 2014 to trying to talk some sense into the EU politicians and Europeans in general. I wrote countless articles explaining how harmful it was for the EU to continue as a US slave, and how necessary it was for the EU to make a turnaround towards cooperation with Russia. By 2015, I became so disgusted with European ‘leaders’ that I stopped talking about that.
However, to the surprise of some of my readers, I continued being long-term mildly optimistic about the EU turnaround, saying that it would have to happen sooner or later because there really was no other way for the future to play out.
Sooner or later EU would have to deal with Ukraine’s bills they couldn’t carry on paying (it is happening now); with the influx of armed ukro-nazi thugs on EU territory (may happen soon as Ukraine continues to disintegrate); the aftermath of sanctions forced on EU and Russia by the US and corrupt European politicians could become unbearable (farmers all over EU are protesting as we speak).
I also said from the very start of 2014 that just like with the Georgia/S. Ossetia crisis of 2008, the 2014 Ukraine would also blow over. They would yell and scream for a couple of years, and then start forgetting about it, turning to business as usual. They’d eventually tire of anti-Russian statements, remembering that, after all, EU and Russia did share one continent and trade between the two was too significant to jeopardize.
It turned out that the shock of Syrian refugees became the event that broke the camel’s back. Oh yes, the US prostitutes such as Merkel and the bought-and-paid-for EU MSM still puff their cheeks in the direction of Russia. But many of EU’s elites, as much as ordinary citizens, approve of Russia’s actions in Syria. The approval of Putin’s actions is through the roof, the fact being diligently hushed up.
Bought-and-paid-for or not, EU politicians have to start responding. And the turn begins.
The desperate need for a turnaround in European politics was crystal clear to me and my smart readers from the start of the 2014 Kiev maidan and coup. But EU politicians are awfully slow. Almost two years later, EU governments and individuals are finally timidly starting to see Poroshenko and the ukro-nazi junta for what they are. Poroshenko was again called on the carpet, this time in Paris, and admonished personally by Hollande, Merkel and Putin for non-compliance with Minsk agreements. Again, the meeting lasted for four or five hours, while Poroshenko was left humiliated waiting for his turn as Putin talked in private with Hollande and Merkel.
But on the global stage Ukraine events have now been relegated to the second tier of importance . The Syrian refugee crisis takes the cake. EU has never expected such massive inflow of refugees. More so, EU’s top bras have never expected such fight between countries regarding refugee passage and quotas. EU is strained to the core and is showing cracks, while the economic crisis makes countries question their participation in the EU. Crisis shows that the only unifying factor in the EU was ‘having good times and prospering together.’ The good times are gone, and so is unity.
This reminds me of Napoleon, who was the first to voice the idea that Europe should be ruled from one center, thus being considered the father of the EU. His multinational army only held together while it was advancing and winning. The moment hardship set in and the mighty Napoleon began losing to the Russians, his army disintegrated like a soap bubble.
The pro-Russian moods in the EU are growing, despite all the resistance by the US and anti-Russian/pro-US lobby. Pro-US moods are waning, and rapidly, although it is still far from reaching the level of real change. We can be assured that US itself and USA’s Trojan Horses in the EU will continue putting enormous pressure on Europe to toe the line.

EU may have not liked so much the latest pronouncements from the insane asylum formerly called Ukraine. During his UN speech drunk Poroshenko announced that “Russia is attempting to destabilize ISIS,” which I think embarrassed every remaining sane Ukrainian on the face of the Earth. Later Poroshenko proposed that Ukraine should gather data on families of Russian pilots in Syria in order to pass them on to ISIS so they would terrorize these families. Anton Gerashchenko, former advisor to Poroshenko and present Ukraine’s interior ministry advisor, announced that Ukraine should send troops to help ISIS take revenge on Russia.
I think even the sold-out EU politicians would experience nausea listening to such lunatics, who now scare to death many of their former supporters and maidan instigators from Poland, Brussels, UK and Germany.
However, for the anti-muslim-immigration countries such as Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia and Bulgaria, nothing has worked as well as the cold shower of the mass Middle Eastern migration. Rhetoric towards Russia changed overnight once they realized Russia could quickly accomplish what US and their own NATO were unable and unwilling to do for years: get rid of ISIS and stabilize Syria.
Again, like 70 years ago (WWII), 130 years ago (Ottoman Empire), and 200 years ago (Napoleon), Russia has to rescue these countries or territories, which in good times seem to forget everything that Russia has done for them, betraying their savior on a whim, once someone dangles a bigger and shinier carrot. In some cases, such as the traditionally pro-Russian Bulgaria and Slovakia, we are talking about US-bred russophobic elites installed as puppet governments, and equally puppet MSM. In cases of Hungary and Czechia we actually have relatively pro-Russian heads of state, who are surrounded by the same US-grown russophobic elites.
Out of all the above countries I want to single out POLAND, who for the longest time worked the hardest to damage Russia and whose not very intelligent policies turned it into the biggest US Manchurian Candidate and Trojan Horse in Europe.
It’s hard to turn around the EU. But the process of the EU turning away from the US and towards Russia and China is unavoidable and historically predetermined, unless EU wants to go down together with the mothership. They don’t seem to desire such outcome…
It will be a treacherous and lengthy process, as I’ve predicted in 2014. But this epic turnaround, when completed, will finally re-unite Eurasia, which still remains one continent with one single unified space, the need for cooperation and common goals, despite what some may want you believe.
So, the turn of this huge, misshapen ship has begun, despite the resistance. It is being signaled by the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, who has said in a surprise speech in Germany: “Europe must treat Russia with more decency, improve the relationship, and not let EU policies be dictated by Washington.”

MH17 Lies and Inconsistencies Exposed – Excellent Analysis
In several prior articles (a discussion which continues in the comment section of said articles) we had discussed how US used the Moon landing hoax in order to boost its international image, sway Europe and some other countries towards closer cooperation with it against Russia, and how this masterfully constructed lie contributed to the result of the Cold War.
A similar deviously constructed trap for Russia has been organized in Ukraine. It started as Kiev maidan and the illegal ukro-nazi coup, and continued as attempts to drag Russia into a direct military confrontation in Ukraine. Since they were unable to achieve that, plan B was Russia’s isolation and weakening/destruction of the Russian economy via sanctions. Isolation didn’t work either. But sanctions are still in place, and they will continue being in place for as long as Russia conducts her own independent policy. Russia certainly will continue doing so, which in fact means that sanctions will be on for as long as US is able to twist the arms of the EU countries such as France, Germany and Italy.
Recall that before the MH17 tragedy in E. Ukraine EU was extremely reluctant to start a new round of broader sanctions against Russia. To get EU off the fence, extreme measures were required. Such extreme incident was ‘conveniently’ provided by MH17 downing. Within two hours of the tragedy in E. Ukraine, Russia and Donbass self-defence were immediately accused by US State Dept spokesperson Jen Psaki of shooting down the civilian plane. US got this info, she said, from Facebook and Twitter. Within days of the MH17 tragedy, EU countries, like one, voted for broader sanctions against Russia.
The official report on the MH17 tragedy is to finally come out in October, a delay that in itself is extremely suspicious. Meanwhile, Russia and Donetsk Republic have already been tried and convicted by the Western media and governments.
The fallacy of the official Western party line is obvious even to a layman, albeit a sharp one. Listen to an excellent analysis of the MH17 tragedy and lies surrounding it by a concerned French citizen Thierry Andre Laurent-Pellet. He conducted his own investigation, covering pretty much all incongruities and lies in the official pre-reports and the investigation in general.
When you listen to this interview, recall my article from 2014 in which I reported about a whistleblower who came out with information that a Ukraine airforce pilot Captain Voloshin returned distraught from a flight around the time of the tragedy, confessing in a private conversation that he ‘shot down the wrong plane.’ Captain Voloshin disappeared later, as did the Spanish air traffic controller who worked at the time in Dnepropetrovsk air traffic control responsible for re-directing the Malaysia Airlaines plane into the dangerous war zone, and who tried to expose the truth about MH17 in his tweets. Quantum Calibrations of Major Events: Iran Deal, SCO/BRICS Summit, Russian Sanctions, Ukraine, Armenia and Greece
This post is a logical extension of my latest article: Color Revolutions: Who and Why Takes Advantage of Border Disputes and Historic Resentments?
In the article, I suggested that my readers should use my Quantum Calibrations of Consciousness System, as described in the videos below. This system is extremely helpful for determining the truth or falsehood of any action by any country, or for determining a calibration (energy and intension) of any event in history. This system is accurate both for personal and global, large-scale, usage. I calibrate geopolitical issues in the examples below. But just as successfully, I can use my system for personal issues, whether internal or external.
The key is to ask correct question, so that calibration would deliver an accurate answer.
My Quantum Calibrations scale is based in part on Dr. David Hawkins Power vs. Force Scale of Consciousness, but it goes much further and deeper. It works together with my Chi Kinesiology – the system I use for calibrating.

I thought it would be helpful for my readers if I posted an illustration of how calibrations work, complete with telling examples. This is the first time I am actually calibrating these events. It will be fascinating to see how it will all come out.
It’s a double-blind experiment: I just type out a statement and calibrate the issue at hand live, then type in a numeric value of the answer received, adding my interpretation. I don’t ‘think’ about it. This isn’t about random thinking. I focus and produce the result. Some call it channeling. This is the function of the organized and focused cosmic mind, not the ever-doubtful human mind.
The examples used in this experiment are based on the questions and issues posed in the aforementioned article. Because the Quantum Scale is a relative (comparative) numeric scale, it’s easy to see where each action, event, person, or object falls relative to other events, persons and objects, therefore, allowing us to interpret and understand deeper the underlying motivations and consequences of each occurrence.
In other words, calibrations serve as quantum tool for getting to the very core of the issue and for extracting the real truth.
Below, you’ll see me provide a statement, its numeric value calibration, as well as sometimes also the Chi numeric level (underlying energy level) of the situation/event. You will also see me provide additional interpretations.
Let’s have some examples of quantum calibrations, shall we!

Calibrating the truth of a statement (What is the truth behind…):
Here, we will calibrate official positions of governments:
The position of the Kiev junta government in regards to Donbass: 10 (near death). In other words, practically no truth at all. They simply want Donbass dead, including people and infrastructure. However, when someone is on that level (be it individual or state), they will always end badly. Wishing death on someone else eventually bounces back to cause death and destruction of the perpetrator (per my PREDICTIONS, we won’t have to wait more than 2-3 years for that to happen).
Russia’s position towards supporting Donbass through humanitarian aid and refugee help: 980 (enlightenment, near absolute truth). No surprise. The generosity is obvious.
Russia’s position towards Ukraine in general: 185 (pride). While below the minimum positive calibration of 200 (courage), PRIDE is the first calibration level where confrontation isn’t desired and peace is a prerogative. Therefore, while Russia is critical of Ukraine’s behavior, considering Ukraine basically ungrateful and what is going on there deplorable, the calibration clearly shows that Russia definitely doesn’t want confrontation with Ukraine, trying to resolve everything peacefully.
But let’s see what US, EU and Ukraine positions on Russia are:
Ukraine’s position towards Russia: 1 (practically the level of death). Death = 0 in the Quantum Scale. In other words, they want Russia dead. Chilling, isn’t it?
EU’s (average for all of EU) position towards Russia: 40 (guilt). Guilt is a very debilitating, paralyzing feeling. In the video above I give examples of how some Christians experience the feeling of guilt, which makes them subdued, resentful and debilitated. Guilt, along with shame (calibration 20) are the two highest suicide producers among people. The judgement is so clouded that people simply cannot find the right solutions to problems even if such solutions stare them in the eye.
USA’s position on Russia: 6 (near death). Surprise to anyone that US wants Russia dead?…
Germany’s position towards Russia: 45 (guilt)
Greece’s position towards Russia: 298 (neutrality). A very high, and truly positive energy, but not high enough energy to make active deals happen. By the way, this means, as you’ll see later, that Greece isn’t ready to abandon EU and join Eurasian Union, as some suggested.
Poland’s position towards Russia: 2 (near death). Same as my explanation for Ukraine’s position towards Russia.
Finland’s position towards Russia: 49 (guilt – on the cusp of apathy). Apathy (50-74) is the level of the desperately poor and destitute in Calcutta. It is also the level of absolute and total disregard of another’s position and needs. Just below that (30-49) is a very low and unpleasant calibration of guilt. Guilt is a very stifling energy and it can be very destructive.
Russia’s position towards EU: 180 (pride). Same as my explanation for Russia’s position towards Ukraine.
EU position on Donbass: 10 (shame, near death)
US position on Donbass: 4 (almost death) So… Is it possible that just like Ukraine, US wants Donbass dead?…
The truth of the Kiev junta statement that Ukraine is separate from Russia, while common history is denied: 0 (death). This means that there is zero truth to this statement.
The truth of the statement that Russians and Ukrainians are one people: 995 (high enlightenment), or absolute truth! (the value of 1000 is the top of the human 3D scale)
The truth behind Poroshenko’s insistence that there are 200,000 (they have grown from 8,000 just recently) Russian troops that invaded Donbass: 4 (near death). Obviously, no truth to this statement.
Russia’s position re. re-establishing peace in Ukraine and ending civil war calibrates at: 280 (neutrality). A very nice and positive calibration. Russia essentially is wishing Ukraine well and wants to help out in a detached way, keeping distance and not willing to get deeper into the Ukraine mess. Recall how many times I wrote that both Ukraine/Poland and US are doing everything to drag Russia deeper by making them send the troops.
EU’s position on Ukraine conflict: 10 (shame, near death). This means that EU’s position is borderline absolute falsehood.
Deep within, how EU feels about their role in the conflict in Ukraine: 85 (grief). EU isn’t admitting it, but they are deeply unhappy and depressed about the role they played in Ukraine conflict. However, they feel desperately stuck in the situation, seeing no way out.
USA’s position on Ukraine: 4 (near death). This is what US brings to Ukraine!
Now, let’s calibrate some of the recent geopolitical events
Here we are calibrating the cosmic consciousness level of the event. I also added the Chi level calibration in a few cases. Chi levels in my system signify the intrinsic energy levels manifest in our Earthly 3D reality; it is a practical level of energy available to each situation.
The calibration below will help us understand who and why organized these events, the truth or falsehood of each event; what each event wants to achieve and the prediction for the consequences.
Kiev maidan: 4 (near death). Obviously, that’s what it achieved – the ongoing destruction of a republic that was once the richest per capita in the Soviet Union, having been built-up by Russians.
Crimean referendum: 295 (neutrality); Chi: 580 (joy/creation). The people wanted to live and let live; by voting for a better life outside of the destructive ukro-nazi Ukraine, they didn’t want to fight; they were opting out. The underlying Chi is spectacularly high: these people went to vote in order to create a better future for themselves and their children. For 23 years they dreamed of the day they would be re-united with Russia, and the referendum became the day of true joy for them.
The act of Crimea’s re-unification with Russia: 980 (high enlightenment – an almost absolute truth). Wow, this is much higher than I anticipated! I never took a moment to actually physically calibrate any of this before. What can I say – it was the enlightened decision on Putin’s part and on the part of the people and government of Crimea and Russia. Clearly, that’s where Crimea belongs.
Greek position re. EU debt: 180 (pride); Chi 150 (anger)
Tsipras personal position on debt negotiations: 180 (pride); Chi 150 (anger). Same exact calibration as his country in general. This means that Tsipras behavior is in line with how his country feels. Anger about the terms is prevalent in Greece, hence the anger energy. Deep down Greeks hate the EU and their stranded situation, which, as I predicted, would eventually lead to their exiting the EU. However, for now they have no choice but to negotiate. Pride is below the minimum positive calibration of 200 (courage), but it is the first peace-seeking calibration due to self-preservation. Greece is trying to find a compromise and resolve the debt situation without exiting the EU (but only for now – recall my prediction). I actually never calibrated this issue before, so I note that it confirms what I predicted about the Grexit timeline in my recent articles.
But look how differently US/EU feel about Greece!
EU position re. Greece: 80 – it rose to 85 in the last couple of days (grief/desperation/denial/no way out). Not a good calibration to have while trying to negotiate. Any deals they make with Greece won’t last too long.
US position re. Greece: 45 (guilt). They feel Greece is guilty of all mortal sins and don’t want IMF/EU to compromise with Greece. Recall that Greece is also leaning to Russia and participates in Turkish Stream. US wants Greece punished.
Attempted electric maidan in Armenia: 85 (angry grief/desperation). People felt they had no say in how much they would be charged tomorrow, desperate because of their low-income levels. However, private energy companies geared towards profit felt equally desperate and trapped due to large investments into the infrastructure and expenses they would never recoup. The government felt equally trapped between the two ‘rights.’
Latest settlement in Armenia, which defused electric maidan through temporary subsidies and investigation calibrates at: 185 (pride). Better than nothing – this means that everyone is trying to find a compromise and doesn’t want escalation out of self-preservation.
Finland denying visas to Sergey Naryshkin and Russian delegation to OSCE: 40 (guilt); Chi: 0 (death) – Very, very bad calibration. This will cause misunderstandings and mutual relations problems in the short to mid-term between Russia and Finland, to be resolved only when Finland changes its position towards Russia; when Finland’s energy level increases enough to (excuse me) give a damn.
Anti-Russian sanctions: 100 (fear); Chi 80 (grief). This is self-explanatory, I think.
We talked a lot about color revolutions as the technology to divide and conquer. Let’s calibrate color revolution as a phenomenon: 85 (violent grief) Chi 95 (also violent grief). No surprises. Therefore, even when participants of color revolutions honestly believe they are fighting for a better future, they’ll fail to achieve it.
BRICS and SCO Summit that just took place in Ufa, Russia: 410 (reason – a very high calibration); Chi: 295 (neutrality)! Clearly, all those countries that came to Ufa had a positive and forward-looking agenda, including India and Pakistan making peace and getting admitted into SCO as a tandem; Iran attending as SCO candidate; Belarus soon to be admitted to SCO. BRICS are developing a SWIFT alternative system and the BRICS Bank started its work. There were certain criticisms of the BRICS and of certain actions by China by some Russian analysts. This is probably why the summit didn’t calibrate higher than these values.
New Iran deal just reached between Iran and the sextet – Russia, USA, UK, Germany, China and France (plus EU): 410 (reason); Chi of the Iran deal: 480 (humanity)! This is very high for international relations, which often linger on the level of pride, or worse. There is no other way to describe it other than a major breakthrough!

What happened?
Pre-history: Shortly before the Sochi Olympics Putin personally pardoned a former Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who was serving a sentence on official charges of tax evasion and money laundering. Charges that didn’t make it into the court verdict were much more serious: Khodorkovsky and his crony Lebedev were about to secretly sell-out strategic Russian oil assets over which they took control in the ’90s, during the wholesale looting of what was all of Russian people’s common property.
Khodorkovsky was literally about to board the plane to the US, where he was to make the deal of the century – sell his company Yukos to the US oil interests. In exchange, he was promised an easy election and post of the Russian president. The idea was for him to preside over the completion of the demolition of Russia. The process of the demolition of the country was stopped in its tracks by Putin, and Khodorkovsky’s handlers couldn’t wait to get back on the destructive mode.
However, in his arrogance Khodorkovsky didn’t realize how much the Russian government knew about his plans. He was arrested and tried on the superficial and easily provable money laundering charges.
The real story of Khodorkovsky’s plan and his exposure constitutes one of the main themes of my mystical thriller THE EARTH SHIFTER. Read the book here. Excerpts are here. I also write about Khdorkovsky and other Russian oligarchs in ESR3: OLIGARCH WARS. A Russian oligarch is also one of the main characters in my thriller GOLD TRAIN.
The biggest proponent and intermediary for Khodorkovsky’s early release was Germany, including personally Merkel, citing Khodorkovsky mother’s poor health and other humanitarian reasons. The condition for his release was that he wouldn’t go back into politics. Both Khodorkovsky and his German guarantors swore to that. But then again, Germany swore in 1989, as Gorbachev allowed Germany’s reunification (over USA’s objections!) and as Soviet troops pulled out of Germany, that the unified Germany wouldn’t be a part of NATO…
Today:
Of course, the moment Khodorkovsky was out of jail, he immediately started talking about running for Russian presidency, interfering in Ukraine and rejoicing over anti-Russian sanctions.
Another thing he and his cronies, some of whom are hiding in Israel and others in London, have done was to re-initiate a multi-billion-dollar lawsuit against Russian Federation for restitution to Yukos shareholders.
This lawsuit was attempted several times before and EU courts threw it out every time. This time, however, the entire EU and US jumped on it as if it was an anchor to which they needed to hang on for dear life.
What was different this time? Simply put – Ukraine, Crimea, Donbass and anti-Russian sanctions. Yukos ‘shareholders,’ in fact a lot of shadowy entities, most of which were hiding behind bogus fronts, have their own interests. Their goal is to try to squeeze as much money as possible out of Russia after the nationalization of Yukos, following Khodorkovsky’s conviction. They have judged correctly that this time the Hague court would look favorably upon their claim for political reasons, and they were right.
No question, this lawsuit was suggested by the US and coordinated with the EU – the US fingerprints are all over its timing. Shortly after filing, the court in Hague delivers verdict: Russia is to pay Yukos shareholders $50 bln. Russia’s reply: we won’t abide by the decision of the court we don’t recognize.
As a result, Russian property and asset arrests and seizures began in France and Belgium. The amount cited is so far $1.3 bln. These include: arrests of bank accounts of the Russian companies with any stake by the Russian State, such as Rosneft; Russian Orthodox Church properties; Russian embassy, EU/Council of Europe representation diplomatic accounts.
Diplomatic accounts are illegal to seize in any country. If Russia wanted to escalate, such act could be construed as a declaration of war. Both France and Belgium ‘apologized,’ saying they have an absolutely and totally independent legal system; as such, they ‘didn’t know’ of the diplomatic accounts being seized and that they would release them.
Seizure of the Russian Orthodox Church property (such as Russian Orthodox places of worship) isn’t just illegal, since it’s not a property of the Russian State, but also despicable from the human and spiritual standpoint. It’s low even for them. Let’s recall that a similar war on Russian Orthodox Church property and threats against priests are taking place in Ukraine. All this appears to be a very well-coordinated action – and as my readers know, I am non-religious and therefore my point of view is neutral and detached. As to the property of the Russian banks and Russian companies, it’s more complicated. At present, Lavrov and other ministers announced they will use all legal means necessary to protest this decision and that companies can feel free to file claims in the Russian court, in return for which Russian court can seize appropriate assets of foreign countries in Russia.
Why Belgium and France?
This is a trial run, for now. They want to see how far they can get and what Russia’s response will be.
It’s interesting that at the very same time during the St. Pete Economic Forum, dozens of business leaders from all over Europe tripped all over themselves to assure Russia they wanted to continue doing business. Afraid for their properties in Russia? German business, as usual, was some of the most active during St. Pete forum.
Why is it being done?
Let’s face it, my early 2014 predictions that US/EU won’t achieve their goals in Ukraine, are coming true. Ukraine isn’t working out for them the way they wanted. Moreover, anti-Russian sanctions aren’t working either. Recall my prediction that in the long-run sanctions will be beneficial to Russia as they will stimulate sovereign innovation and production.
Let’s also face it, certain forces in the US and EU are livid. They can’t accept that things didn’t go their way and they want revenge. The pinprick of the Yukos decision is one of those pinpricks Russia, unfortunately, has to endure. Certainly, $50 bln isn’t a huge blow for Russia. Pinprick it is. It’s also a test: how will they respond? Can we dislodge them by doing it? Will Putin lose his cool?
And what if there are many other pinpricks coming at Russia at the same time? Can we make Russians completely lose it if we prick them from all directions? Let me remind everyone that that’s how WWI and WWII started – lots of humiliating pinpricks, resulting in countries losing their cool.
But Putin’s Russia isn’t Hitler’s Germany or Austria-Hungary.
That’s why all these NATO drills, deployment of thousands of tanks and other heavy machinery to Russia’s borders in Eastern Europe. It’s a bigger pinprick. Macedonia’s (FYROM) recent announcement that it will only allow Turkish Stream through its territory if EU agrees to it – is another pinprick. However, this is still not all. The new attempted ‘electric maidan’ in Armenia (under the pretext of 16-17% hike in the price of electricity!) is yet another pinprick.
And the crowning pinprick achievement: Saakashvili as the governor of Odessa and subsequent attempts by Ukraine and Romania to re-ignite the Pridnestrovie conflict! I will soon have new LadaRayLive analytical episodes about that. Stay tuned for these new revelations.
Conclusions:
Everything is going the way I predicted. I warned from the start that US would not accept defeat, and wouldn’t look quietly as its power and dollar dominance are slipping away. Unlike the USSR in 1991, which disbanded quietly and peacefully, It would fight tooth and claw, trying to drag everyone with it into the abyss. I also said that USA’s prime directive is not only to weaken Russia and EU, but also put a wedge between the two, especially, between the what was a newly thriving relationship between Russia and Germany.
Will Russia lose her cool because of these pinpricks? Nope. Russia, as predicted from the beginning, will again achieve a slow change in her favor through quiet and peaceful means.

Four months ago I recorded that commentary immediately after the Greek elections, which unseated the pro-US, pro-Brussels elite and propelled the left-wing Tsipras to power. My prediction was that Greece would exit the EU by 2017 and that Turkish Stream pipeline would after Turkey go through Greece in order to proceed towards Serbia and the Balkans. At that time, some argued with me that Greece wouldn’t exit EU as Greek politicians said they ‘wouldn’t.’ Others argued that Russia’s Turkish Stream pipeline wouldn’t go through Greece, stopping at the Turkish border.
By now we all know that Greece is already discussing exiting the EU; moreover, we also know that Turkish Stream most definitely will go through Greece to deliver gas through the Balkans further into Europe.
Russia, Greece sign €2bn deal on Turkish Stream gas pipeline. Russia and Greece have signed a deal to create a joint enterprise for construction of the Turkish Stream pipeline across Greek territory, Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak said.

Putin’s New Ally: Pope Francis
Pope Francis: Catholic Church’s Pope, an ancient title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, in which capacity he is Sovereign ad vitam of the Vatican City State. Born: December 17, 1936 (age 78), Flores, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Full name: Pope Francis. Nationality: Argentine. Parents: Mario Jose Bergoglio, Regina Maria Sivori.
During his visit to Italy two days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Pope Francis at the Vatican. It has to be noted that, while the Pope is obviously not fooled about what’s happening in the world – undoubtedly, his Argentine roots play a role in his clear vision – Italy as a state also is trying to find a way to quietly mend relations with Russia outside of the EU. It’s interesting that Putin’s visit took place directly after the G7 bash in Germany, during which Merkel and Obama sang a lot of anti-Russian songs in-between of sips of banana-flavored beer (not kidding) and vowed more anti-Russian sanctions.
It is also happening against the backdrop of the US trying to sneak its mid-range nuclear missiles into the EU, targeting Russia, and many other ugly things that signal the fresh push for World War IV (WWIV because, in all truth, we should really consider the Cold War as WWIII). But more about that in another piece.
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s third meeting with Putin in the past year is a signal that Italy is attempting to distance itself from Germany and the US. Italy is obviously trying to wiggle its way out the crippling anti-Russian, and return Russian, sanctions. Italians have told me that Italian agriculture is hard hit by the quid pro quo sanctions.
At the same time, Italy is trying to revive its lucrative energy cooperation with Russia, which the US and its vassals in the EU are actively sabotaging. Italian energy companies have been working on deals with Russia since Berlusconi. The most important component of these deals was the direct supply of the Russian gas to Italy via the southern route, which was supposed to be accomplished via South Stream. The northern route – Nord Stream – was successfully and very quickly pushed through by Germany, utilizing the German clout in international affairs.
Italian clout isn’t nearly as substantial. Moreover (I wrote about that in the past), Berlusconi’s reputation with women notwithstanding, he was undoubtedly pushed out of his post because of his close relationship with Putin and ‘excessive’ friendliness towards Russia.
The Italian energy companies, first of all Eni, took a blow after US managed to sabotage South Stream and the project was closed. The new Turkish Stream project is needed like fresh air by many countries, but it is already running into significant difficulties due to sabotage from the same source. Pope Francis is another thing all together. Catholic church and the Vatican continue to hold a very substantial sway over worldly affairs, even if this soft power is invisible to most.
Francis’ interest in meeting with President Putin isn’t so much economics, although this issue concerns anyone who lives in Italy; while the Vatican is a separate state, it is, after all, geographically a part of Rome. Additionally, much of the Pope’s flock resides in Italy and surely, his people are well-aware of those farmers and shippers who are going bankrupt because of sanctions; they know of losses Italian energy and industrial companies are suffering.
Still the Pope’s main interest at this point is geopolitics and the diplomacy of peace. And that’s where it gets interesting.
During Putin and Pope’s behind-the-closed-doors visit, which lasted 50 minutes – longer than prescribed – Pope Francis gave Putin the “Angel of Peace” medal. This medal is said to have the ability to create peace and protection, as well as the solidarity among peoples. The choice of words is very interesting: a symbol – ‘talisman,’ ‘wish’ – of protection and peace is being given to Putin by the head of the Catholic church. ‘Solidarity’ is the word feared terribly in the US, but used broadly in socialist and left-leaning societies, including South America and Pope’s native Argentina. Pope Francis has also mentioned that the Bible addresses not just spiritual matters, but also geopolitics as one of the important aspects of human co-habitation. The above language of symbols and hints, typical for the Vatican, thus reflects an important message.
The US pressured (and by pressure I mean blackmailed, coerced and attacked in the media) Francis to take a tough line on Putin and condemn Russia. Meanwhile, the head of the so-called Greek-Catholic church of Ukraine archbishop Shevchuk criticised the Pope for meeting with Putin and urged him to shorten or cancel the meeting.
The Greek-Catholic church of Ukraine is something that was created in the 18-19th centuries, during a forceful Catholic conversion of the western Ukraine population – at the time under Catholic Poland and Austria-Hungary. It is in fact Catholicism disguised with a thin layer of Greek flavor (the words ‘Russian Orthodox’ were banished).
Since the 2014 Kiev maidan coup, Ukraine’s Greek-Catholics took a very violent posture against Russian Orthodox churches and priests, traditional for most of Ukraine. Many Orthodox churches in Donbass were destroyed by bombings or burned down and looted. Many priests and church-goers continue being threatened and humiliated. A large number of Orthodox churches all over Ukraine were forcibly taken away from the rightful owners and converted into Greek-Catholic ones.
Someone asked me last year, when all this was going on, whether Pope Francis was becoming a hidden ally of Russia. My reply was that the only thing Francis could do as far as Ukraine was to offer an olive branch and try to distance himself from what was happening in Ukraine. This is what he did.
The extreme violence and rage of the primarily Greek-Catholic element from western Ukraine isn’t something he can control. But after the violence finally calms down and the right people come to power in what is now Ukraine (recall my timeline: 2016 -2018), all the churches wrongly taken away from the Russian Orthodox church will be returned to the rightful owners. Let’s consider this one of my little predictions. Putin and Francis spoke behind the closed doors and the topics of their conversation were not disclosed. But knowing Putin, I am sure that he got a promise from the Pope that he would use his power to return the churches.
The Vatican continues being a powerful and deep-reaching conglomeration of various interests, from spiritual to financial and geopolitical. This is one of those entities that can subtly influence world opinion and serve as part of the diplomatic solution, when used for good. There are one billion Catholics in the world today. The power of the Catholic church stretches through Europe and Latin America, as well as many countries of Asia and Africa. Catholic influence in the US is not as significant and it is doubtful that Pope Francis would be able to talk any sense into the US ‘leadership.’ On the contrary, US has the audacity to admonish the Pope and read him lectures on how he should conduct his affairs. What else is new?
But it is out there for all to see that this Pope is different. Pope Francis clearly disagrees with the West and the US and he clearly prefers Putin. In fact, there is a talk of an unlikely alliance. Call it a soft-power diplomatic-spiritual alliance. Francis likes the fact that Putin has positioned himself as defender of Christians, who are under attack in Syria, Libya and elsewhere in the Middle East. Francis also took a pro-Assad and pro-Syrian government position against the US.
Pope Francis and all heads of the Catholic Church – as leaders of most other main religions – prefer Putin to Obama, or other Western leaders. The reason lies in Putin’s straightforward conservative values combined with his active stance in promoting religious tolerance, equality, friendship and cooperation between various religions. I hear the same from prominent leaders of Jewish and Muslim religions. Since most people on the planet are religious, this is something that endears Putin to many.
Pope Francis is undoubtedly anti-US hegemony, anti-Western imperialism and militarism. He has to be as diplomatic and possible, but the fact remains: this is certainly his Argentine roots talking. Based on the above, Putin and Francis hit it off pretty well.
But it goes deeper than that. I believe that it’s well beyond Pope Francis and his personal preferences, although it helps to have the right man at the helm.
The Vatican elites aren’t blind. They see where the wind is blowing – and it’s away from the US and West, towards the East. Call it abandoning the sinking ship of the West OR steering the Vatican ship into more promising waters…
The Vatican is re-orienting towards the East, Russia and China.
And the Vatican isn’t the only one. Israel is doing the same, and not just Israel.
But what about Putin? Oh, he plays his master chess as usual. I wrote in 2014 that Putin, with his out-of-this-world tireless productivity, circled the world and managed to glue together a network of various allies all over the globe. Sure, the US has the biggest and scariest army in the world; it also controls the world media and financial system. It can intimidate, bribe, blackmail or attack anyone. That’s why countries are afraid to speak up. But the future is behind the alliance that is forming quietly, and often secretly, behind the scenes.
Putin continues looking for new allies, quietly weaving together the new world, where the US won’t be hegemon. And now the Vatican is slowly but surely shifting towards this alliance.
Italy is the friendliest towards Russia out of all significant Western economies. The Vatican, located in the middle of Italy, is positioning itself for the future. The Pope’s friendly position towards Putin and Russia also reflects the opinion of the majority of Catholics in Italy, Spain, Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and all of Latin America, as well as Asia and Africa. And it’s not what Washington has hoped for.

I really don’t read or watch CNN. But as I was looking for the Pope and Putin’s image online, this popped up: ‘Why only Putin could turn up late for meeting with the Pope’ – Link to article. Moscow (CNN):
“There aren’t many world leaders prepared to keep the Pope hanging around for a meeting. Russia’s President is perhaps the only one.
Pope Francis discovered this on Wednesday as he waited, patiently, for more than an hour at the Vatican for his guest to finally arrive. There aren’t many world leaders either who could annex one part of a neighboring country while backing a bloody rebellion in another part, and still avoid strong criticism from, arguably, the world’s most influential religious figure. Vladimir Putin appears to fall into that narrow category too.
The issue of Ukraine was raised, we’re told, during their brief, closed-door meeting. According to a Vatican statement, “The Holy Father affirmed that it is necessary to make a sincere and great effort to forge peace,” in the war-ravaged country. Pope Francis and Putin also agreed to “restore a climate of dialogue.”
But the exchange was not the condemnation called for by many, including members of the Greek Catholic congregation, who number millions in Ukraine, and who have expressed frustration at the Pope’s failure to criticize Russia’s role in the Ukraine conflict. Nor are the words likely to satisfy the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, Kenneth Hackett, who urged the Vatican, ahead of the Putin meeting, to “say more about concerns on territorial integrity” in Ukraine.
To be fair, the Vatican is not following the same diplomatic agenda as Western governments regarding Russia.
Hale goes on to suggest that Francis may play a diplomatic role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine too. But if Wednesday’s meeting was anything to go on, in which the Pontiff and the President exchanged gifts, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
No, that meeting was more about Putin than the Pope. Just a day after being publicly scolded by the world’s industrial powers, the G7 — including a particularly strong rebuke from U.S. President Barack Obama — Putin was shoulder to shoulder with the spiritual leader of 1 billion Roman Catholics worldwide.
Russia may not be quite so isolated after all.”
