After they squeezed out or killed off all normal people, and after they installed in 2014 this bloodsucker, suddenly Ukraine radicals and Ukro-Nazis woke up to the truth? The latest scandal is that Poroshenko and his cronies looted the military budget of the country. Ukro-Nazis are protesting and there is talk of a new Maidan. Poroshenko had to run for his life from a recent election rally where nationalists attacked him. Nationalist radicals say they plan a major protest rally for March 16 and weekly thereafter.
Spiders are devouring each other. Best of luck to them; meantime Ukraine continues plunging into its self-created abyss…
And what did any of them expect? I and a few other sane analysts warned about all this since 2014! The result was entirely predictable and pre-determined…

Four+ Years of Maidan: Ukraine’s Disaster in Pictures and Words
Out of many pictures I could have picked to illustrate the true state of affairs in Ukraine between 2014 and 2018, I decided to select these.
This was the center of Kiev, the Independence Square, during 2013-14 ‘peaceful protests’
Ukraine Maidan: ‘let’s burn everything down, maybe our lives will improve’
Kiev Miadan: ‘peaceful’ ukro-nazi protesters get ready to crush with excavator the huddled together, unarmed police. The ‘peaceful pro-West protesters’ will also burn, beat, torture and shoot those policemen, who’ll happen to be unlucky enough to get in their way. The Ukraine police would become one of the first victims of the violent ukro-nazi Maidan.

I predicted that BREXIT would not happen the way many have imagined: it won’t be swift, it won’t be easy, and most likely, it will be made look like it’s happening, yet nothing of consequence will happen. At a minimum, it would take years to execute it, at a maximum, there will only be an appearance of it, while in reality, it won’t happen.
Those who don’t want to know the true predictions and the real truth, and those who just want to be fed sensationalist tales, didn’t like it.
…That is, until the future Earth Shifting changes in the EU begin taking place.
That prediction was made on June 20-21, 2016, before the actual BREXIT vote! And here it is!
Over two years later, there is still no BREXIT in sight… UK owes EU billions it can’t pay, and Theresa May plans a ‘soft’ BREXIT, which isn’t BREXIT at all.
And this prompted an avalanche of resignations. This is an RT video:

The resignations may seem like a knee jerk reaction to May’s plan. but it’s much worse: in actuality, these are the rats leaving the sinking ship.
The rats smell the dead end UK and May’s government have gotten themselves into. There is no good exit out of this situation, no saving face, and so, those who are the fastest opportunists, like Boris Johnson, are using this chance to leave the sinking ship of May’s government.
To save the situation, everything has been tried, including the Skripal poisoning false flag, the nerve gas false flags in Syria, and again, a few days ago, yet another round of ‘Novichok’ poisoning just a few miles from the Porton Down labs, where the most dangerous chemical substances are kept. To deflect the heat against UK government and to distract the public, they even tried an attack against runaway Russian ex-oligarchs living in London. They tried to bash Russia and Russians, and they tried to boycott the World Cup in Russia. But nothing worked.

This happened many times before in history and it’s happening again, as we are going through this new monumental EARTH SHIFT. This is how and why old systems change and are replaced by new ones. It happens because those who are at the top and in power stop reflecting the needs and aspirations of many; because their views become outdated; because they cannot see clearly ahead.
Speaking in terms of my Multidimensional Energy System and Quantum Calibrations: the energy goes against them.

America’s Worst and Most Complained About Banks
I was just doing some research and stumbled upon this article in magnifymoney.com.

I thought it would be useful and appropriate to let you all know about this, since big changes in the global banking are coming and I’ll be soon doing an article on Patreon on that. Read: Banking Industry Overhaul Timeline: Saturn in Capricorn (preview).
Of course, take everything with a grain of salt and always do your own research when it comes to financial matters, don’t just believe anyone’s word! Still, this is useful info. As for me, I had closed all my accounts with the likes of Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, and any other major banks a long time ago, and never looked back.
This article is by Nick Clements (article’s direct link: magnifymoney.com). It is from 2014, however, the info remains current and some data is very notable. Here is an excerpt:
‘Most Complained About Banks – We crunched the numbers’
- Bank of America remains America’s most complained about bank
- Ocwen has rapidly become America’s most complained about mortgage servicer. (Not surprising, given the mistakes they have made. If you are a customer, you could get money back from them. Find out more here.)
- Citibank Credit Cards have the highest complaint ratio (complaints as a % of total credit cards)
- Capital One received the most retail bank complaints per branch (with Bank of America a close second)
- Experian is the most complained about credit bureau
- Encore Capital Group is the most complained about debt collector
If you are having a problem with your bank, you can get help with your complaint from the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). Just file your complaint online, and they will help you get answers – and maybe even money. I told the story of my friend, who had his credit history fixed and money reimbursed, in this DailyFinance article. The CFPB has received over 400,000 complaints since it was launched, providing a real alternative for people to get help.
The CFPB makes its complaint database public. To date, over 250,000 complaints have been made public (and more are being added to the database every day). At MagnifyMoney, we believe that public access to complaint data is a great public service. It enables people like us to identify trends, rank banks based upon complaints, and help consumers make good financial decisions.
Today we are pleased to release our analysis of the complaint database.
Over 76,000 complaints were made public during the first six months of the year. Of the big four banks, Bank of America remains the most complained about bank. 5,261 people complained about BofA. Wells Fargo received 4,834 complaints. Chase received 3,988 complaints and Citibank received 3,025.
What does this mean for you?
We have crunched the complaint numbers, and have the following tips:

If Ocwen is your mortgage servicer (now the largest non-bank servicer in the country), you should pay close attention. They have a history of mistakes, which can be very costly. If you are having problems with Ocwen, don’t be shy. Complain to the CFPB, and tell Ocwen that you are going to complain to the CFPB. They are a bit touchy, given they have just been punished with a judgment of more than $2 billion due to their mistakes.

If you are receiving calls from a collection agency, you have rights. And if someone like Encore Capital Group keeps calling you – and you don’t know why – don’t be afraid to raise the issue to the CFPB (and tell Encore that you are doing so).

For choosing a retail bank, we have long argued that branch-free banking is the way to go. Traditional banks pay the lowest rates on savings accounts, charge the highest monthly and overdraft fees, and limit you to their ATM network. Look at our checking account and savings account pages to make your checking account free, earn the highest interest on your savings account, and ditch your traditional bank. Of the big banks, Chase has half as many complaints per branch at BofA. And PNC and US Bancorp always did well.

Credit bureaus can make mistakes. You should check your credit report every year, and make sure that mistakes aren’t there. You are allowed to get a free report every year from all three bureaus, and make sure you do. To get the issue fixed, you can go straight to the bureau. But, if they don’t move quickly enough, use the CFPB.

The biggest complaint categories for credit cards are billing disputes and ID fraud. Sign up for alerts with your credit card company (they can send you an email if a large purchase is made). You should also download your bank’s app so that you can keep an eye on spending. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately – and you should keep a paper trail of your communication with your bank. The earlier you catch anything suspicious, the better.

So, according to the above report, the most complained about banks are Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, Capital One — all ‘too big to fail’ major multinationals. Bank of America alone had over 38,000 complaints registered.

As I am observing this whole surreal anti-Russian saga unfold before our very eyes, I am suddenly recalling that I had predicted this whole thing well before FuturisTrendcast, or even Lada Ray Blog existed; in other words, it was well before I began making any public predictions…

Incredible information! Thank you, Lada. I was surprised (sort of) when I heard about the new sanctions. Congress here in the U.S. is a joke, a circus. Do we even have a government, truly? I am constantly reminding myself that this is real life right now, because it feels so surreal. I remember back during the start of the Ukraine coup, writing a CT congressman and asking them not to support Kiev with weapons, supplies, etc. It was as if my email was intercepted by the Dark State because the reply I received read like a script for those CNN liars they call reporters, about how Russia was endangering Ukraine’s sovereignty and blah blah. I knew then that Congress was pretty much unreachable.
I will continue to hold Russia and Putin, and the people of the world, in my thoughts. Things will turn around, little by little. So long, Trump. I had high hopes but thankfully I had your information and predictions, Lada, to help me stay realistic. You also did this with The Future of Money as well. I just finished and I’m so thankful for everything you shared.

You hit the nail on the head: what we used to think of as ‘reality’ now feels completely surreal. This is the result of the Earth Shift and Russia’s rebalancing. The dark forces, who unfortunately most of the time hold power in the West, are unable to accept it and are grasping at straws. As they desperately try to hang on to the slipping away power, they lose all sense of right and wrong, up and down. This is where the surreal feel comes from.

WHAT DOES RUSSIAN PASSPORT REALLY LOOK LIKE
Last but not least, we’ve had an interesting discussion regarding Russian passports in Comments, too.
This is very sad. But we all knew it was coming. Just as Lada said. I’ve hoped that Germany would develop a backbone and pursue its own interests for a while, but as you say Lada, don’t hold your breath.
I’m in Australia. Things are actually pretty bad here. Cost of living is through the roof. Job, or should I say jobless rate, has been stitched up for a while with real figures hard to come by. No one can afford a home any more. Every new car you see on the road is paid for by credit, and to top it off, Australia fell in line behind the U$ when the U$ decided to ‘counter Chinese aggression’. So now our heavily China oriented export market (the only thing driving the economy besides the bank loan ‘housing boom’), is under threat because China considers us ‘aggressors’ standing next to the U$.
It isn’t very good. Really, I hate to focus on the negative but things hear a held together with string and sticky tape and no way out of the horrific debt bubble that everyone is caught in.

Here’s what RUSSIAN PASSPORT really looks like:
This is the Russian version. People from DPR and LPR, as well as many of those who live in Ukraine, or used to live in Ukraine but presently reside and work in Russia, can now apply for this passport in an expedited fashion under the new ‘Sootechestvenniki’ (Compatriots) Program. A separate program has also been designed specifically for the long-suffering people of Donbass, allowing them to obtain accelerated Russian citizenship.
The expedited citizenship under the new ‘Sootechestvenniki’ (Compatriots) Program applies to all those who were either born, or whose ancestors were born and/or lived on the contemporary territory of Russia in any historic time. Usually, proof isn’t hard to find through archives, and Russian Government provides this service to citizenship seekers. It doesn’t matter where you live at this time, in Ukraine, US or Australia.
This is bilingual version, called “Foreign Passport,” indicating that passport is issued for foreign travel out of the country.
This is the inside of a Russian passport issued to an expat from S. Africa (seems like a genuine article, but I cannot fully guarantee it, could be an example).
VALUABLE TIPS: It’s possible to get Russian passport through an investment or via marriage. But please consult very reputable and highly recommended lawyers and advisors before embarking on this journey! Be careful and guard against scams!
Most expats do it the long way: they get a job in Russia first, and then go through the motions.

Heil Poroshenko! Ukraine junta bans Russian SM, prepares to ban Russian Orthodox Church
A lot is happening in Ukraine, as Kiev junta continue beating record after record in schizophrenia and fascist extremism.
Today the Kiev Rada is supposed to pass the new law, which effectively outlaws the traditional Russian Pravoslavnaya (Orthodox) Church, Moscow Patriarchy. The majority of Ukrainians belong to this church — one of the main and most influential branches of the global Christianity.
The breakaway branch of the ‘Ukrainian Church’ is unrecognized by any other religious organization in the world. Yet, it is to this outcast church that the Kiev junta is preparing to pass all the churches belonging to the Russian Pravoslavnaya Church on the territory of Ukraine.
This includes up to 14,000 parishes with church buildings, plus hundreds of monasteries and tens of thousands of church properties all over Ukraine. Each parish owns precious religious relics, icons and other highly valuable items, many in gold and silver. Among important relics is the Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra, one of the main monasteries and historic treasures of the Russian Pravoslavnaya Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site. See image below:
We are talking billions and billions of dollars worth of real estate, art and valuables. Therefore, it is clear that this new proposed law has nothing to do with religion or ‘sovereignty.’
This is a highway robbery and a mafia takeover of the single richest piece of the shrinking pie left in Ukraine. The ukro-nazi junta in charge doesn’t know who else to rob and whose else blood to drink.
And caught in the crossfire are… millions and millions of poor, simple Ukrainian citizens, who have nowhere to run and whose rights, ancestry, history, and very lives are being systematically destroyed.
I am always unpleasantly surprised by how screwed up and Russophobic the Western understanding of the situation in Russia and Ukraine is. I generally think that my readers at large are much more educated than most in the West, therefore, I don’t think they need this explanation. However, for those who have wondered into this page by accident, I’ll tell you what the Russian Pravoslavnaya (Orthodox) Church means for the territory we today call Ukraine.
Ukraine junta is now very actively promoting their false parallel reality to convince the West of the non-existent ‘Russian oppression.’ In this parallel reality Kiev ukro-nazis, aided by Soros, Canadian and American ukro-nazi Banderovtsi, Poland and Germany, contend that Russian Orthodox Church was imposed on Ukraine by ‘evil’ Russian Empire. Of course, the Western ignorant sheeple eat this up — afer all, it is in line with what their media tells them about Russia.
In reality, the Russian Orthodox Church was born in Kiev, Malorossia, well over 1000 years ago. From thereon this religion spread throughout the territory of the Great Russia. At the time — for a short while — the capital of Rus (aka, Russia) was in Kiev. Before Kiev, the capitals were Novgorod, Arkona (now located in Germany), and other cities. Later, the main capital of the Rus State would be moved more than once. There was even a period when the capital was in Lvov, today’s western Ukraine or Galitsia. In 19th century, so not to confuse that period with others, it began being referred to as ‘Kievan Rus.’ The Lvov period was identified as ‘Galitskaya Rus.’
I’ll leave aside the fact that many think it was a grave mistake for Rus to adopt Christianity to replace the Vedic Pravoslavie. I have my own view of this event: at the time this could not be avoided. The Vedic World’s (Vedicheskiy mir) spiritual lifestyle system resonated with the 5th dimension (5D). When people’s consciousness fell below 5D — to 4D and then to 3D — they stopped resonating with the high level spirituality.
As a result, the change took place, and for better or for worse, Russian Christian Church has been for hundreds of years the main unifying religion of the Russian Empire. The Russian Pravoslavnaya Church, incorrectly referred to in the West as ‘Russian Orthodox Church,’ has always been historically dominant in Ukraine, despite various attempts to convert western Ukraine into Catholicism.
VIDEO: Thousands of Russian Pravoslavnaya Church believers gather before Kiev Rada to pray for god to send some reason and common sense to the Rada deputies. The video is very telling. Alas, they are praying for reason and common sense where there can be none.
People are praying and singing peacefully in the video, but there are persistent warnings of an upcoming religious war in Ukraine, should this law be passed and should the forceful takeovers of Russian churches continue.

BAN OF VK AND OTHER RUSSIAN SOCIAL MEDIA & INTERNET COMPANIES
Poroshenko and the junta have banned Russian SM, including Vkontakte, Odnoclassniki, email service Mail.ru and search engine Yandex. Sanctioned and banned are also the leading Russian business accounting software company (whose name I don’t recall) and the leading internet security company Kaspersky Lab. All of the above are dominant in Ukraine. Millions of Ukrainians use Yandex and Russian SM. VK is used several times more frequently than Facebook. Yandex is used much more than Google. The Russian accounting software company’s products are used by the majority of Ukraine’s businesses, some of whom have filed a lawsuit against Poroshenko and his government for damages.
You may ask why do Russian companies dominate Ukraine’s Internet market? Very simple, Russian companies have a major advantage over Google and Facebook: they are in Russian. No matter how much Ukro-nazis and junta try to eliminate Russian language in Ukraine, according to various polls, about 80% of Ukraine denizens continue speaking Russian.
Hitler and German fascists once burned books — Poroshenko and Ukraine fascists ban the internet. The ban of VK, Mail.ru and other Russian SM means that millions of Ukrainian users will suddenly lose contact with friends and family outside Ukraine. Will people again eat up this new gross violation of their rights, or will they finally rebel?
Qui bono? The non-sensical bans on Russian internet companies and products makes me think that it is done to clear up the room for others. Facebook instead of VK; much more expensive and incompatible American or European security and accounting software instead of Russian, etc. We’ll soon see whom Poroshenko and junta push to the top.
But even this isn’t all. On May 9, 2017, we have seen ample proof how Kiev and Ukraine citizens in general really feel about Russia, USSR and victory in WWII. One of the symbols of the Great Victory is Georgievskaya Lentochka (a red and gold band of St. George). 600,000 people came out on May 9 all over Ukraine (some believe it was up to one million). 60,000 came out in Kiev alone. In an act of definance, some of them carried Georgievskaya Lentochkas, despite threats. Following such a showing, Rada and Poroshenko have just passed the new law banning Georgievskaya Lentochka, along with other Soviet and Russian symbolism. About what went on Victory Day.
Even The Human Rights Watch came out and said that banning Soviet symbolism in Ukraine violates human rights and is undemocratic.

The timing and utter stupidity of all these simultaneous bans makes one think that Poroshenko and the junta are trying to divert the public attention from something else. Several things are being named. Among these:
1. The IMF Chief is about to visit Ukraine, and it’s looking bad. Ukraine is staring the default in the eye. Ukraine must come up with at least $6 billion to service its debt this year. It will be more every year after. This kind of money is nowhere to be found.
2. Energy shortages made authorities announce that they would be disconnecting hot water for months, possibly for years, in some key cities, such as Odessa, causing massive discontent. Who needs hot water in the winter, right?
3. Major Ukrainian companies continue going under, major factories and power stations shut down daily, leaving tens of thousands jobless. Depopulation and increasing death rate are very real dangers. Ukraine now tops world lists for corruption, unhappiness and death rates.
4. But the most important reason is this: Poroshenko and his Rada quietly passed the new law allowing the sale of agricultural lands, which was banned under previous administrations. This is expected to generate a frenzy of secret foreign buying via proxies. Monsanto has been licking its lips over the fertile Ukrainian lands for years. One day Ukrainians may wake up to find they’ve lost the last valuable thing they had left – their land. The news caused an uproar, but public attention was quickly diverted via the aforementioned Russian bans.
The victimized people of Ukraine have become hostages of the lunatics and Bandera-Nazis in power, whose only interest is to sell off their country, along with the people, to foreign interests.

In conclusion, I have to again emphasize that the collective West and its ‘leaders’ supported, enabled and financed the Kiev Maidan, and they continue supporting this Kiev junta, no matter what kind of atrocities and violations it commits. Therefore, the collective West and its ‘leaders,’ bear direct responsibility for the severe violations of human rights in Ukraine; they bear full responsibility for the suffering of the people of Ukraine.

I think we can safely go even further back. The way I see it, the coup d’etat of 1917 in Russia bares all the characteristics and attributes of a colour “Red” revolution, maybe in a cruder, earlier form.

That’s why I said the color revolution manual hasn’t been changed since the beginning of the 20th century.
However, the real color revolution was the February 1917 coup/revolution that unseated Nikolay II and ended the Russian monarchy. Without those Russian oligarchs, counts, officers and Tsar’s relatives who came out wearing red bands in February, plotting to unseat Nikolay II, the later Bolshevik Revolution wouldn’t have happened. Without the direct British agent Kerensky (proven fact Kerensky himself brags about in his memoirs) and his Temporary Government – Rus.: Vremennoe Previtelstvo – of oligarchs that destroyed what was left of the country’s infrastructure and morale in the short several months between March and October, the Bolshevik Revolution wouldn’t have happened either.
The 1917 Russian Empire situation looked a lot like Ukraine’s today, in other words, total madness – albeit on an incomparably larger scale. The Bolshevik Revolution of November 7, 1917 capitalized on the ensuing mayhem and went much beyond the color revolution goals, in fact breaking out of the mold, and building an alternative social system to rival and balance out the West.
But yes, February and November 1917 were in fact 2 parts of one mega-coup.
This is where Nikolay Starikov, whom I mentioned on several occasions, shines: explaining color revolutions. The geopolitics of the 20th century – through now is his period. Perhaps also 18-19th centuries as well. (He loses me when he goes deeper in history, into areas he doesn’t understand.)
Just posted: great latest video by Starikov where he gives his perspective on Greece and Armenia electric maidan. He echoes and compliments very well from his angle what I have been saying all along on these issues.

Generally, Starikov is one of my top recommended Russian geopolitical analysts. Just keep in mind what I said earlier about him in regards to different historic times, plus the fact that he takes an exclusively patriotically-Russian angle on things (don’t blame him), while I prefer to think of the good of the entire Planet Earth.
In this video Starikov also talks about a direct connection between Gorbachev’s ‘treason,’ as he calls it, and the EU formation. I did mention in the above-linked article that I think this view of Gorbachev is overly simplistic.
Starikov makes a compelling case that Gorbachev’s actions, resulting in the break-up of the USSR, set in motion a chain of events culminating in the mushrooming of the EU as we know it today, on the bones of the Soviet Union.
Since we are on the topic of Russian geopolitical analysts: one of my readers, Kostya, also asked my opinion about Evgeny Fedorov and his ‘prediction’ that there is a secret negotiation to replace Putin. My readers do know my rule that I don’t discuss other people’s work or personas, unless I can say something positive, as in the case of Starikov above. I’ll make a quick exception here, since I often get questions about Fedorov’s sensationalistic predictions that never come true.
Here is what I replied to this reader’s question:
I generally don’t listen to Fedorov, as I mentioned on prior occasions. My view of Fedorov is that he is a fear monger and sensationalist. But perhaps he plays the role of the boy who cried wolf, which can be useful, I suppose, to wake up those who are normally asleep. Sadly, some need a dose of his scares he likes throwing around, to keep them alert.
I demonstrated in 2014 how his ‘prediction of the upcoming maidan in St Petersburg’ didn’t materialize, while mine that it wouldn’t happen – did. ‘Nough said.
But some don’t want the truth, preferring sensationalism and tall tales.
That said, as you know, I agree with Fedorov in principle regarding the NWO and UK/US globalist hegemony agenda gone too far.
Added to clarify some questions: I also appreciate Fedorov’s long-standing resistance against and vocal position on the US globalist agenda issues. In a way, he is a hero and a great awakener. A Latvian politician and member of Europarliament has told me that he recalls how several years ago any session of the EU-Russia Europarliament Commission would be packed because of the overwhelming interest in doing business with Russia. Everyone understood: that’s where the opportunity was. At the same time, sessions of the US-EU Commission would barely have a few people attending. Those days several years ago now seem to the EU like another lifetime. Events in Ukraine and anti-Russian sanctions changed perceptions and put a visible wedge between Russia and EU – a setback used by the US to continue pushing EU to accept the increase in its military presence, its LNG shale gas and its secret Transatlantic Trade Agreement.
I know what US apologists both sides of the Atlantic will say: it’s the EU people who demand our increased military presence, shale gas and Transatlantic Trade Agreement. I suppose the EU people also demand that NSA wiretap their presidents and business elites, along with every citizen. I suppose the EU people also demand to be robbed blind.
Seemingly, US can celebrate a victory. Seemingly, they have achieved their goals. However, per my 2014 predictions, this victory will be short-lived, followed by a huge reversal.
The top event of last week was the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, yet what happened there went almost unnoticed in the manipulated Western media, busy covering up the new French NSA spying scandal with a fresh dollop of Russia-bashing. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the moment the news that NSA spied on three French presidents broke up, French papers filled with anti-Russian propaganda, blaming Russia for not observing the Minsk peace agreements. Similar thing happened in Germany, where the public is still reeling from last year’s massive NSA spying scandal. Obviously, the news filled with bad Russia and bad Putin, their convenient boogeyman, are meant to distract from the real news.
It should now be clear beyond the shadow of a doubt who controls ALL of the world’s media, except some news outlets in Russia, China and a few other countries. The fact that French and German media immediately jumped to protect their real Transatlantic employer once the scandal against such employer broke out – speaks volumes. The prime directive of the Western MSM is to divert the sheeple’s attention and pull the wool over their eyes every time their puppeteer is in trouble.
What happened in St. Pete was sensational, and therefore, it should have been the stuff of front pages. Instead, it was shyly relegated to the back pages, or avoided altogether.
But at the same time as US and Brussels continued selling their naive populace the stale story of Russia’s isolation – and Russian aggression – a virtual fight over who would become a bigger and better partner for Russian gas transit was taking place in St. Petersburg.

In light of what’s happening in Greece, what’s especially interesting is this: Greek PM Tsipras neglected his scheduled meeting with EU leaders, in which he was supposed to negotiate his country’s crucial pre-default debt restructuring. Instead, he chose to come to St. Pete, where he signed a $2 bln joint venture for building the Greek leg of Turkish Stream to southeastern Europe.
Nord Stream-2: Analysis and Prediction
Less noticed and very under-the-wraps was another mega-deal: potentially even bigger than Turkish Stream. During the St. Petersburg Forum Germany and Russia agreed to build Nord Stream-2, to deliver gas across the bottom of the Baltic Sea directly to Germany, for further distribution throughout the EU. Nord Stream-1 consisted of two branches and cost 8.5 bln euro. Nord Stream-2 will add two more branches, for a total of four, and will cost 9.9 bln euro.
Nord Stream – Rusian gas goes directly to Germany via Baltic Sea
The new pipeline will go on top of the existing Nord Stream. This means that, due to the same footprint, Nord Stream-2 won’t need to go through a very grueling and lengthy approval process with Euro Commission and deal with objections by all countries bordering the Baltic Sea. With German discipline and profit motivation, expect Nord Stream-2 to be built in record time.
Therefore, while Germany is making all kinds of public anti-Russian noises, it’s quietly making serious strides to fortify and expand business with Russia. However, make no mistake! Russian gas transit to the EU is as much in the realm of politics and geopolitics, as in the realm of business. I will illustrate that below.
Nord Stream-2 capacity will rival the current Ukraine pipeline capacity. Russia already announced that the aging Ukraine pipeline will be eventually phased out due to the political instability and inflexible position of the Ukraine government. In short, Russia won’t be held hostage to the whims of Kiev. Nord Stream-2 agreement means Germany is making a decisive move to take away gas transit business from Ukraine.
This led some to speculate that Germany facilitated the 2014 coup in Kiev on purpose: to create an impossible situation for the Russian gas transit through Ukraine, thus making Russian gas transit business its own. I won’t categorically agree or disagree with this opinion, and here is why. There is some logic to it. Germany and other strong EU economies were always worried about the insecure Ukraine gas route. Taking steps to ensure one’s country’s energy security are natural and expected. Still, at least in part, Germany is not initiating but rather responding to various threats, acting to secure gas supply route and quantities for itself and its close allies in northern and central Europe. Germany, of all countries, is able to use its considerable European pull to secure a fast construction of the new pipeline – and it’s doing it.
Is Germany making big anti-Russian noises to appease and fool the US, while behind the scenes making deals with Russia? Here is what I see: I do think Germany is continuing clumsy attempts to sit on two chairs, playing both Russia and US, in the hopes of wiggling its way out of unfavorable agreements with the US, while keeping the door to Russian business semi-open with one foot. It’s some fancy acrobatics, to be sure, and it does look desperate. Germany and German allies – in other words, the strongest northern and central EU economies – see the writing on the wall and they don’t want to be caught in the upcoming Ukraine/US fallout. They are also rushing to secure Russian gas agreements while they still can.
Turkish Stream Prediction
It’ll be somewhat harder for Turkey, Greece and Italy to push the Turkish Stream construction through. Their pull isn’t as hefty as Germany’s and the pressure on them will be significant both from the US and EU.
But my confident prediction is this: unlike the botched South Stream project, which relied on the weak key transiter, Bulgaria, the Turkish Stream project will be accomplished successfully. The reason is that Turkey is much stronger than Bulgaria as a key transiter. Greece (key transiter 2) will be fine as well, as long as it remains steadfast. This will be a tall order, but Greeks are fighters and they can do it.
The Myth of the United EU and NATO: Geopolitical and Economic Rivalries Explosion
What many are missing is that Germany and Greece are acting here as direct rivals. Germany wants to keep all of Russian gas under its control, in order to then distribute it to all of the EU, thus keeping its control over Eurozone. Meantime, for Greece their participation in the Turkish Stream and association with Russia is a terrific negotiation ploy and additional leverage in their fight for independence against the EU, IMF and German dictate. To top it off, Russian partnership is a lifesaver for the fledgling Greek economy.
As such, Germany sees Greek revolt as a challenge to their EU power and hegemony. From this it’s easily understood that Germany and Brussels would try to undermine and sabotage Greece and other countries who are participating in Turkish Stream.
US will also try to sabotage it for both geopolitical reasons and for their own economic reasons. US wants to sell its shale gas to the EU. Its dream is to push Russia out as the primary gas supplier to the EU, taking Russia’s place and, therefore, binding the EU to itself not just militarily and economically, but also energy-wise.
Consequently, the fight between Greece and EU/Germany we are presently observing is much more than a fight for Greece’s debt restructuring. It’s also beyond the projected Grexit. It’s about distribution of Russian gas and future control of European energy security.
When Bulgaria’s puppet government foolishly refused to allow South Stream through its territory, loosing potential billions in future profits, Turkish Stream was born. It will go through the bottom of the Black Sea, using Russian waters, a small stretch of international waters and Turkish waters. Then, it will go through the northwestern-most part of Turkish territory, with branch-outs to supply large parts of Turkey with Russian gas. Why is it important that it only goes through the northwestern part of Turkey? This is the quietest and most prosperous part of Turkey. The east and south are restive and volatile, with Kurdish and Syria-related unrest.
But Turkey isn’t a member of the EU. Turkish Stream will get to the border with Greece at which point Greece will take over the pipeline for further distribution to other EU countries.

As we see, Greece/Turkey and Germany are now in direct competition for the exceedingly lucrative Russian gas venture. Therefore, the fight between them is also the fight for future control and profits.
Putin’s Gambit: the all-around win for Russia
We spoke on many prior occasions about how Putin works. Sometimes, it appears he doesn’t respond directly to various threats and adversarial actions by the US, Kiev junta and EU, instead, he takes his time and acts asymmetrically, when he is ready. And every time Russia acts, it’s an unexpected and pretty crushing move. This is why they call Putin the Grand Chess Master.
Nord Stream-2 partner is the No. 1 German energy giant E.On, as well as Shell (Dutch-British) and other German companies, such as OMV and Wintershall. It is understood that such companies wouldn’t commit to Nord Stream-2 without securing a serious backing of the German government. It is also a given that Nord Stream-2 will be pushed through by Germany in record time. In fact, it will be built faster than Turkish Stream.
This puts fire under Turkey. The thing is that after the Turkish Stream deal was signed by Erdogan, he imagined himself in the driver seat. He began looking for more preferences, playing on the Crimean Tartar controversy and delaying the approval for the engineering survey of the pipeline route. Immediately after the Nord Stream-2 deal was signed, the Italian engineering survey vessel, which was sitting in the Bulgarian port of Burgas waiting for Turkey’s permission to enter the Black Sea for six months, was finally allowed to start work. Erdogan also changed his tack on a number of other issues.
Recall what I once said before: Erdogan and Turkey are attempting to play their own game in the Middle East and southeastern Europe, not always successfully and not always nicely. However, on balance Turkey is still a strong and convenient ally for the Turkish Stream and various other projects, for a variety of reasons – from geopolitical, to psychological and economic. For one, Erdogan is pissed at the US, EU and NATO, and two, he wants gasification of his country, whose archaic coal-based system is in desperate need of replacement with clean modern energy.
Therefore, Nord Stream-2 and Turkish Stream are in direct competition. This is excellent, as it will finally balance the situation with Russian gas supply to the EU, which has become precariously imbalanced after Ukraine, and sometimes Belarus, began playing blackmail games. The result was that Ukraine endangered EU’s energy security and Russia’s energy livelihood. And that’s just not done.
There is an ‘opinion’ of ‘the couch potato experts’ that Russia won’t have enough gas to fill both pipelines.
However, having reserve capacity on hand is actually the point! Two pipelines will be filled with gas as needed, reserve capacity used as necessary. The constant competition between the two will not allow either party to attempt what Ukraine has done for years: blackmail Russia either economically or geopolitically, while keeping EU gas customers hostage.
The realisation of the plan of the competing pipelines will put an end to the American Dream of cutting Russian gas from Europe. Will US try to stop the construction? Undoubtedly. My prediction: because of well-chosen allies, and unlike with South Stream, they will fail.
The deadline for the complete turn off of the Ukraine gas transit system is 2019. Until then, EU and Germany will have to continue paying for Ukrainian gas in order to ensure Ukraine doesn’t turn off the vent.
Alexander Medvedev, Gasprom Deputy Chairman said: “After the current gas transit agreement with Ukraine expires, there will be no new contract, nor extension of the existing contract, under any circumstances. Due to the economic, political, investment and technological risks, there will be no more Ukraine gas transit, not even if sun and moon switch places in the sky.”
China: Deeper reason for the stampede to secure Russian gas
In addition to the Turkish Stream and Nord Stream rivalry, for the EU and Germany there is another, more important consideration.
Germany must act now, before Russian gas gets redirected to China and Asia via the Power of Siberia pipeline. Let’s recall my 2014 predictions: once it happens, it will be too late and EU will begin experiencing gas shortages. Shortages can be avoided if Europe acts now to secure multi-year gas commitments.
Therefore, Russia is building a fully balanced and diversified Eurasian gas supply system, and Chinese counterweight plays a big part in it.
Ukraine Prediction
Nord Stream-2 and Turkish Stream will eventually take all gas transit business away from Ukraine. It means that regardless of how the power in Ukraine changes in the following 2-3 years (and it will), Ukraine will only be able to buy gas for itself – at market prices. It won’t be able to profit from the exclusive gas transiter status.
Poor, naive Ukrainians; while they were yelling and screaming on Kiev maidan that Russia was bad, shrewd Europeans nodded politely and did what they had to do to provide for their energy security. This eventually will render Ukraine unnecessary for either US or EU, and, as I predicted, it will simply be abandoned. Too bad the cost will be so great for the people… I wonder, will Ukrainians ever learn?
This effectively means that US will lose interest in Ukraine and drop it like a hot potato. Recall my timeline for the mega-changes in Ukraine: 2016-18.
US LNG Shale Gas
But what about the US and its LNG shale gas, you ask? Judging by the St. Petersburg deals, Europeans aren’t holding their breath for it.
Let’s be clear: US shale gas is yet another bubble. This, awfully harmful to the environment bubble, will burst, just like so many before it.
Where is China?
What went completely unnoticed in the media was the presence of China at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. Too bad, because this is actually the country everyone should have been watching in the first place. Chinese press wrote after the event that China and Russia fortified their future-oriented, long-term strategic partnership. Russia is the key partner in China’s New Silk Road project, which will unite in one economic space China, Russia/Eurasian Union, most of Asia and EU.

I spoke many times about the need to reunify all of Eurasia. This is one continent. The artificial division on Europe and Asia has to come to an end. Through trade and energy, this is what Russia and China are working on.
While Germany, Turkey and Greece trip all over themselves to be first to sign gas transit agreements with Russia, China is continuing its patient long-term expansion. Unlike the expansions of the US and EU, it targets to cooperatively unite, not divide. Patience is one thing Chinese have lots of. Pragmatic wisdom and vision is another.
Europeans could learn a lot from both Russians and Chinese.
