These are my preliminary notes on the Russian ruble drop, since many people have asked me to address this developing situation. I am also getting questions regarding the oil price drop, OPEC actions and US involvement. I will either do a couple of articles, or possibly a donation-based Earth Shift Report on these topics, as they seem to be on everyone’s minds. Below are some of my preview thoughts on the subject of the Russian ruble drop.
Referenced is the latest Dr. Paul Craig Roberts’ (PCR) interview with Greg Hunter’s USA Watchdog. Here is the complete interview: Paul Craig Roberts-US Government Most Corrupt on Earth. Quote: “No need for economics if US can rig everything.” I understood this 10 years ago, when I left my financial consultant position at Smith Barney/Citigroup.
PCR is discussing the ruble drop from his standpoint as top American economist and former U.S. Asst. Treasury Secretary in charge of domestic economy. PCR is a rare wise man among American economists and I always recommend my readers pay attention to his point of view; the link to his site is on my Resources page. PCR points out correctly that it is most likely the US government/FED, or a combination of the FED/US govt + hedge funds/Soros that has attacked the Russian ruble. My bet is on the latter combo. He also has some other most interesting insights into how the US government and hedge funds rig the markets.
PCR is also spot on regarding the fact that both Russian and Chinese government economic blocks are infested with neo-liberal, Western trained economists. This is what is dragging down and keeping back both Russian and Chinese economies. Russians in particular still adhere to a very harmful notion that they must have foreign investment to properly develop the economy. This is vestige of the Yeltsin era, the oligarchs that represented the interests of Western cartels, Rothschilds and others, as well as those Western advisors who screwed up Russian economy in the ’90s. There are more reasons, which I’ll discuss in future article.
PCR also correctly points out that when currency is fully convertible and tradeable, as Russin ruble is, the world reserve currency master (US) can do anything they want with that currency. This puts Russia at a huge disadvantage to the US and West in general. China is in a somewhat more protected position, but not for long. This folds very nicely into the topics I really need (a mental note) to discuss, such as the new monetary system and nationalization of the ruble.
Having been following closely the Russian press, political and economic analysis on various levels, as well as the Russian government and voice of the people, I will add this:
1. Both Russian (Chinese too) leaderships and people are sick and tired of the neo-liberals in power on the economic front;
2. The reason they are still there is because there is no alternative; in other words, you have to develop your own alternative concept and grow your own economists. Any science, including economics, is a system, which takes time to develop, test and implement.
3. Another reason is of course non-stop pressure and THREAT BY THE US/UK/WEST IN GENERAL on Russian and Chinese economies not to change.
Greg Hunter pressures PCR to say whether what US is doing is in fact an act of war against Russia. PCR admits (I respect his meticulous honesty) he doesn’t know whether and how this pressure on the ruble influences Russian economy, whether it has any effect or not.
Well, I do – and I plan to analyze all this in the future article(s).
Question for readers: Are you interested to hear more on these topics? Please indicate your interest by posting your comments:
Topic #1: Russian ruble and neo-liberal infestation of the Russian (and Chinese) economy.
Topic #2: What is behind the oil price drop/why OPEC acts this way/how Russia, US, UK and other countries are influenced by the oil price drop. I also have some predictions.
As an aside, I also received a question about the dire outlook by Evgeny Fedorov (ref: reader-posted video w. French subs in comments). I’ll touch upon that as well.
Dear readers, the more interest I get from you the better.
P.S. Incidentally, I hope you also take a good listen to my latest 2-part interview with TimeMonkRadio, Part 1 of which is posted here: Lada Ray Interview with TimeMonkRadio: 3D, 4D, 5D, raising consciousness and Earth Karma. Part 2 will come out next week. Even though the subject may seem different from the geopolitical and predictionary themes we usually cover on this blog, I assure you that they are closely related. Don’t be discouraged if at first it seems difficult to understand, although I made a huge effort to make it easily digestible. What we discuss in the interview offers a deeper understanding of our world and potential solutions on how to fix global problems, if people care to listen. For this interview we are offering an opportunity for the audience to ask questions – we are planning a follow-up show where the most interesting questions may be answered. Likes and comments are also very much appreciated both on the blog and YouTube.

Lada’s analysis and prediction:
THE US TRAVELING CIRCUS OF CHAOS
(Ref. : US Government Is Funding The Hong Kong “Student Protests” on PaulCraigRoberts.org)
Hong Kong is on fire. Of course, this should have been expected. You thought they would target Russia via Ukraine, while leaving China alone? These past several months I was just wondering where exactly they would strike. Hong Kong is very logical: it is to China a bit like Ukraine (and by extension, Crimea) to Russia.
The reason this is happening right now is clear: both China and Russia are building anti-dollar coalition and are preparing to dump the Western banking system. Notice that ‘pro-democracy protests’ didn’t happen in Hong Kong at any other time before. They are happening specifically now, although the same exact problems were always there.
Interesting ‘coincidence’: as tensions ease up somewhat in Ukraine, they increase at the same time elsewhere! I said that US will slowly disengage from Ukraine, now that they were unable to get what they wanted there, namely Crimea for their bases and in order to squeeze Russia out of the Black Sea + all of Ukraine for fracking and for bases targeting Russia. They already know they won’t be able to hold on to Ukraine (as I predicted from the very beginning!). See: Predictions and My Latest Intel: Did US Lose in Ukraine? Is Putin the Best Russian Leader? Do People Prefer Conspiracies to Real Truth? The resistance of the population in Ukraine turned out too strong and growing, despite all the intimidation. Therefore, they are moving on to new targets. ISIL, Ebola, and the fresh one – Hong Kong.
What does this tell us? One thing only: ALL THIS IS ARRANGED BY THE SAME TEAM. They have one, two teams max, to create chaos and spread circles of violence around the world! There are only so many circles of violence this hard-working team can juggle at any given moment.
It is a traveling circus of the sort I refered to in my recent post: The Ugly Mask of Fascism in Ukraine 1: Urge to Destroy. Except, this one is of a different kind. The ukro-nazi traveling circus in Ukraine is all about destruction and terrorizing the population so they would be afraid to speak up. It relies on brute physical force. This traveling circus is much more intelligent and subtle. It is about masterminding color revolutions and creating destabilization in various parts of the globe. It is the brain behind the chaos. The similarities are: both hide their faces – ukro-nazis behind black masks, and the geopolitical traveling circus of chaos – just by remaining behind the scenes and therefore, invisible to people. But, make no mistake: they serve one master and they are financed from the same source.
Of course, in order for any riots to take place, there has to be a predisposition, a pre-condition, for such events to take place. There are real problems in Hong Kong, and that’s what they capitalize on. But these problems existed all these years. They have been brought out and exaggerated ten-fold to make this work. The evidence of the outside intervention is very easy to spot. Look how many problems the US has, look how many people are unhappy and talk about it – but very little happens as far as protests. Protests, in order to turn into a bloody coup like in Ukraine, need interference and hefty financing from abroad. And US/UK are so terrific at both!
And another thing: the mask of those who are truly behind the ‘Occupy Central’ movement in Hong Kong, the camouflage of those who orchestrated the right time to act for the leaders of this movement, and who gave the signal – is excellent. The whole thing looks very natural. Therefore, even those people who should know what’s up, are buying it. I just had an interesting discussion with my hubby’s family, the Hong Kong natives…
Every country in the world, especially all those countries opposed to the US-centric world, is now watching very closely what’s happening in Hong Kong and Ukraine. Everyone got the message sent by the Yanukovich’s overturn loud and clear. Except, it may not be the message US hoped for.
China isn’t Ukraine and Chinese government isn’t stupid, or weak.
Moreover, I predicted early on that in Ukraine they bit more than they could ever hope to chew. They should have left Ukraine alone. As a result, more and more countries get convinced that US cannot be trusted.
Prediction: The stampede to join the alliance with Russia and China is about to begin. It will be quiet at first. When it becomes obvious to all, it will be too late.
To illustrate the point further, below is an excerpt from a guest post on PaulCraigRoberts.org, who continues to work tirelessly to inform and bring out the truth. This guest post is by Tony Cartalucci of Global Research.
US Government Is Funding The Hong Kong “Student Protests”
Url of this article:
“Just as the US admitted shortly after the so-called “Arab Spring” began spreading chaos across the Middle East that it had fully funded, trained, and equipped both mob leaders and heavily armed terrorists years in advance, it is now admitted that the US State Department through a myriad of organizations and NGOs is behind the so-called “Occupy Central” protests in Hong Kong.
The Washington Post would report in an article titled, “Hong Kong erupts even as China tightens screws on civil society,” that:
Chinese leaders unnerved by protests elsewhere this year have been steadily tightening controls over civic organizations on the mainland suspected of carrying out the work of foreign powers.
The campaign aims to insulate China from subversive Western ideas such as democracy and freedom of expression, and from the influence, specifically, of U.S. groups that may be trying to promote those values here, experts say. That campaign is long-standing, but it has been prosecuted with renewed vigor under President Xi Jinping, especially after the overthrow of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych following months of street demonstrations in Kiev that were viewed here as explicitly backed by the West.
The Washington Post would also report (emphasis added):
One foreign policy expert, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive subject, said Putin had called Xi to share his concern about the West’s role in Ukraine. Those concerns appear to have filtered down into conversations held over cups of tea in China, according to civil society group members.
“They are very concerned about Color Revolutions, they are very concerned about what is going on in Ukraine,” said the international NGO manager, whose organization is partly financed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), blamed here for supporting the protests in Kiev’s central Maidan square. “They say, ‘Your money is coming from the same people. Clearly you want to overthrow China.’ ”
Congressionally funded with the explicit goal of promoting democracy abroad, NED has long been viewed with suspicion or hostility by the authorities here. But the net of suspicion has widened to encompass such U.S. groups as the Ford Foundation, the International Republican Institute, the Carter Center and the Asia Foundation.
Of course, NED and its many subsidiaries including the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute do no such thing as “promoting democracy,” and instead are in the business of constructing a global network of neo-imperial administration termed “civil society” that interlocks with the West’s many so-called “international institutions” which in turn are completely controlled by interests in Washington, upon Wall Street, and in the cities of London and Brussels.
The very concept of the United States ”promoting democracy” is scandalous when considering it is embroiled in an invasive global surveillance scandal, guilty of persecuting one unpopular war after another around the planet against the will of its own people and based on verified lies, and brutalizing and abusing its own citizens at home with militarized police cracking down on civilians in towns like Ferguson, Missouri – making China’s police actions against “Occupy Central” protesters pale in comparison. “Promoting democracy” is clearly cover for simply expanding its hegemonic agenda far beyond its borders and at the expense of national sovereignty for all subjected to it, including Americans themselves…”

Lada’s 2 Cents: Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is trying to save the world from war. We should all help him.
New article by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Reagan’s Asst Treasury Secretary and Father of Reaganomics: Can Putin’s Diplomacy Prevail Over Washington’s Coercion?.
I have come to respect Dr. Roberts tremendously for the work he does and for his ardent desire to tell the truth. It is amazing, coming from a former Washington insider, Wall Street Journal editor, and one of the top mainstream American economists. But we all grow. I was a financial consultant on Wall Street, too; the years I spent there woke me up to the dirty underbelly of the world like nothing else.
By Paul Craig Roberts: June 24, 2014. “Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is trying to save the world from war. We should all help him.
Today Putin’s presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov reported that President Putin has asked the Russian legislature to repeal the authorization to use force that was granted in order to protect residents of former Russian territories that are currently part of Ukraine from the rabid Russophobic violence that characterizes Washington’s stooge government in Kiev.
Washington’s neoconservatives are jubilant. They regard Putin’s diplomacy as a sign of weakness and fear, and urge stronger steps that will force Russia to give back Crimea and the Black Sea naval base.
Inside Russia, Washington is encouraging its NGO fifth columns to undercut Putin’s support with propaganda that Putin is afraid to stand up for Russians and has sold out Ukraine’s Russian population. If this propaganda gains traction, Putin will be distracted by street protests. The appearance of Putin’s domestic weakness would embolden Washington. Many members of Russia’s young professional class are swayed by Washington’s propaganda. Essentially, these Russians, brainwashed by US propaganda, are aligned with Washington, not with the Kremlin.
Putin has placed his future and that of his country on a bet that Russian diplomacy can prevail over Washington’s bribes, threats, blackmail, and coercion. Putin is appealing to Western Europeans. Putin is saying, “I am not the problem. Russia is not the problem. We are reasonable. We are ignoring Washington’s provocations. We want to work things out and to find a peaceful solution.”
Washington is saying: “Russia is a threat. Putin is the new Hitler. Russia is the enemy. NATO and the US must begin a military buildup against the Russian Threat, rush troops and jet fighters to Eastern European NATO bases on Russia’s frontier. G-8 meetings must be held without Russia. Economic sanctions must be put on Russia regardless of the damage the sanctions do to Europe.” And so forth.
Putin says: “I’m here for you. Let’s work this out.”
Washington says: “Russia is the enemy.”
Putin knows that the UK is a complete vassal puppet state, that Cameron is just as bought-and-paid-for as Blair before him. Putin’s hope for diplomacy over force rests on Germany and France. Both countries face Europe’s budget and employment woes, and both countries have significant economic relations with Russia. German business interests are a counterweight to the weak Merkel government’s subservience to Washington. Washington has stupidly angered the French by trying to steal $10 billion from France’s largest bank. This theft, if successful, will destroy France’s largest bank and deliver France to Wall Street.
If desire for national sovereignty still exists in the German or French governments, one or both could give the middle finger to Washington and publicly declare that they are unwilling for their country to be drawn into conflict with Russia for the sake of Washington’s Empire and the financial hegemony of American banks.
Putin is betting on this outcome. If his bet is a bad one and Europe fails not only Russia but itself and the rest of the world by accommodating Washington’s drive for world hegemony, Russia and China will have to submit to Washington’s hegemony or be prepared for war.
As neither side can afford to lose the war, the war would be nuclear. As scientists have made clear, life on earth would cease, regardless of whether Washington’s ABM shield works.
This is why I oppose Washington’s policies and speak out against the arrogance and hubris that define Washington today. The most likely outcome of Washington’s pursuit of world hegemony is the extinction of life on earth.” PaulCraigRoberts.org
Lada’s 2 cents:
To the question: Can Putin’s Diplomacy Prevail Over Washington’s Coercion?
My answer is: YES, but it will be a long and difficult going. And, YES, I agree with Dr. Roberts – Putin and Russia need our help. Enough for Russia to always carry the burden of fighting the Western aggression alone!!! It happened too often in the past. This is for all of us and we must not sit idle! The alternative is the end of humanity, as I said in my previous article: Judgment and the Future of Humanity.
Is Putin correct in placing his future and that of his country on a bet that Russian diplomacy can prevail over Washington’s bribes, threats, blackmail, and coercion?
Putin is absolutely correct, but again, this will be a very tedious, risky and nerve-racking process. Washington’s games are disgusting and dangerous – their goal is to destroy not only Russia, but to damage as much of the world as possible. It is clear why. They know the US economy situation is dire. IF they can export at least some of their problems – something they’ve been doing successfully for decades, and if they can create crises in other countries, they can tell their own population: “See, it’s even worse somewhere else.” Besides, Europe’s predisposition to wars is well-known. So, if they succeed in starting a serious conflict in Europe, US and Canada stand to make billions upon billions, just like during WWI, WWII and the Cold War.
However, I predicted that Russia will resolve the geopolitical GROUND ZERO situation in Ukraine via “peaceful and quiet means” from the very beginning of the Ukraine crisis. See PREDICTIONS and my early Ukraine articles for more.
Yes, Putin and Russia will pull it off. But I want to stress again and again: they need everyone’s help! Everyone should share the truth with as many people as possible; tweet, FB, re-blog; write to your Congress/ Parliament (in Europe) representatives; write to newspapers and alternative media!
A word about Merkel, Hollande and EU: Merkel has completely lost my respect; most other EU leaders are useless US stooges. It was disgusting how Bulgaria’s president kissed McCain’s you-know-what during his recent visit, announcing afterwards that Bulgaria would withdraw from South Stream – the Russian gas pipeline, which can only be seen as a “lifeline” for Bulgaria. France’s Hollande isn’t much better. But US angered the French so much by their unreasonable economic demands and extortion, that Hollande can’t afford to behave openly as a “French poodle” to the US any more. If he does, he would be booted out of office in no time. The only voice of reason in France, and perhaps the only hope on the European continent, is Marine Le Pen, who won the Europarliament election, unseating Hollande’s party. By the way, I predicted this turn of events in the same 2012 article in which I predicted Sarkozy’s loss and Hollande’s win. Read here: 2012 Predictions Update: French Elections and Eurozone.
I am preparing new articles about the geopolitics of the Russian gas pipelines, and about Marine Le Pen and other politicians. Coming soon!
Announcement: People in Russia, Ukraine and all over the world are now meticulously documenting all the crimes of the Kiev junta, ukro-nazi right sector and other fascist organizations, Ukraine media, oligarchs and politicians, the military, as well as all those who are helping them. These are documented via YT videos, photos, eyewitness accounts, articles, white papers and physical evidence. Work on the future international tribunal, which will try these criminals for crimes against humanity, has already begun. I do my part by telling the truth about Ukraine and translating into English the real voice of the people. Everyone’s welcome to participate.
Timely interview with Dr. Paul Craig Roberts by Alex Jones of InfoWars.
This is one of the hoaxes actively circulated by the Western media, or as Gerald #Celente calls them, “presstitutes.” Note, I do not read or watch the Western #presstitutes. Ever since I started living in the West, I had the unfortune of hearing so much of the deliberate anti-Russian lies – and very, very little, if any TRUTH – that a long time ago I turned off my cable and unsubscribed from all US newspapers and magazines. It was really for the reasons of self-preservation. You see, I didn’t want to vomit every time I watched a presstitutes’ newscast.
I was alerted to this piece from the UK’s Telegraph by the Tales From the World blog.

“Every country deserves its government” is a quote attributed to Frederich Nietzsche. How true it is looking at today’s Ukraine.
And here is another thought: “A lot of what is currently happening is not a part of the initial script intended for Ukraine. When you play with fire, be prepared for it to get out of control.” Lada Ray

Russia’s role in Ukraine
So, the billion dollar question is: what is Russia’s role in all this? Russia has been extremely, and surprisingly to some, quiet and restrained on the Ukraine issue. Russia had stressed a few times that EU and US interference is unacceptable. Putin also remarked that joining the EU association agreement is Ukraine’s sovereign decision that has nothing to do with Russia. Compare that with constant interferences by the EU and US in internal affairs of sovereign Ukraine.
Russia also said firmly that should Ukraine sign a free trade agreement with the EU, Russia would cancel its own free trade deal with Ukraine to protect its industry. The moment it has been said, the howling that Russia is putting pressure on poor, defenceless Ukraine, from both sides of the Atlantic became so deafening as if Russia just invaded USA and EU combined. A bit of history
I have to interrupt my planned #SochiOlympics post on Lada Ray Blog, which will be posted soon, due to the fresh wave of madness enveloping #Ukraine.
I was born in Moscow to a Russian father and Ukrainian mother. In Russia and USSR, mixed marriages were absolutely normal and happened all the time. We all thought we were a part of one great Russian culture – and therefore, there was nothing to divide and nothing to fight about, there was no score to keep… Read the rest of this entry
