**Attempts to re-write history and reverse Russian victory in WWII are intensifying. These re-writing attempts are coming from all kinds of countries, including Ukraine, Poland, Romania, the Baltics, US, Germany, etc. And even some of the young people in Russia are beginning to forget the truth. Humans are funny and their memory is short. This amnesia always results in a self-fulfilling prophecy otherwise known as ‘karma.’ This is why memory is so important. After all, ‘those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it.’
So we don’t forget, and can remind others — here’s a short, but important lesson from me:
75th Anniversary of the Victory in Stalingrad
Why was Stalingrad so important, why is it studied in all military colleges around the world and why is it arguably the most famous battle ever fought?
The city formerly known as Stalingrad is now called Volgograd (which means: the City on Volga River). A major commemorative parade took place today, Feb 2, 2018, in Volgograd (Stalingrad).
On June 22, 1941, at 4am, when people slept, Hitler’s Germany and their allies attacked the USSR simultaneously on all fronts. The Great Patriotic War began. Hitler’s troops moved relentlessly and to quickly through the territories of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.
They were stopped only near Moscow and Leningrad, but at a huge cost. The German advancement meanwhile continued elsewhere, as town after town and city after city fell, despite the troops’ and population’s heroic defense. In 1942 Hitler was advancing on most fronts and Germans were reporting that they could already see Volga ahead of them. If they crossed the major water artery of Russia, the Volga River, this would mean a nearly unencumbered access to the following major prize: The industrial Russian hub of the Urals. And from the Urals, they could advance to Siberia, with its oil and natural resource riches, and that would be the end of Russia and the USSR.
That’s why Stalingrad was the last and final stand. The phrase that made it into all history books was: “There is no land for us beyond Volga.” This is what officers told their troops. There is no land for us beyond this point. Germans cannot be allowed to cross Volga at any cost. It was a fight of the magnitude never before known by the world. It was the most devastating war humanity ever experienced, and the cost to both Russian/Soviet civilians and troops was obsene and staggering. The amount of self-sacrifice and heroism was out-of-this-world. There was no choice: if Germans crossed Volga, it would be the end. They had to be stopped.
The outcome of that battle and entire WWII, the Russian/Soviet victory in it saved the entire world — and that means you, You and YOU, by the way. All at the expense of MILLIONS of RUSSIAN and SOVIET LIVES!
While General Friedrich Paulus, the commander of the 6th German Army was preparing to toast the victory of Stalingrad, Russian generals were preparing their counter-attack plan. Rumor has it that Hitler was so confident in Paulus’ success that he promoted him to field marshal just before the day Paulus surrendered together with his army to the Russian Army.
More hilarious details from Wikipedia:
Paulus surrendered in Stalingrad on 31 January 1943, the same day on which he was informed of his promotion to field marshal by Adolf Hitler. Hitler expected Paulus to commit suicide, repeating to his staff that there was no precedent of a German field marshal ever being captured alive. While in Soviet captivity during the war, Paulus became a vocal critic of the Nazi regime and joined the Soviet-sponsored National Committee for a Free Germany. He moved to East Germany in 1953.
Might this be a lesson for new aggressors?
The unexpected by both Germany/Axis allies and US/UK Allies Soviet victory in the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942-43 not only shocked the world, but it completely turned around the fates of WWII and Nazi Germany. The beginning of Hitler’s demise took place in Stalingrad. In the Great Stalingrad Cauldron, Russians surrounded and took prisoner over a hundred thousand of German troops.
But what very few people know is that the actual brilliant Soviet Stalingrad counter-attack plan was initially much grander and it included several broad fronts, down to Caucasus. If the whole plan succeeded, most German troops would have been surrounded and WWII could have ended a year or two earlier. The plan succeeded only partially, and after Stalingrad there was a number of other giant battles on the Soviet territory, plus hundreds and hundreds of smaller ones. In these battles the two titan armies clashed: one in order to conquer and enslave, and another to protect and liberate the Motherland.
The largest tank battle of WWII was the Battle of Kursk, July-August 1943, when Germans gathered all the resources they could in order to regain advantage. They failed miserably.
The Battle of Kursk, also known as the Arch of Kursk (Russian: Kurskaya Duga), had its own legendary ‘aha’ moment, when the well-oiled German war machine suddenly came to a screeching halt as thousands of state-of-the-art, awe-inspiring and menacing German tanks stopped, as if turned off by God’s invisible hand. For 20 minutes they helplessly watched as Russian tanks were quickly catching up to them in the giant battlefield, which would eventually become the Germans’ grave. This mysterious event took place in the stretch of the core central Russian steppes known as ‘the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly.’ The mystical mass sabotage of the German hardware during the Kursk Battle helped ensure another crucial victory for the USSR and another devastating defeat for Nazi Germany, from which it never recovered.
But the advancement of the German army was first stopped in Stalingrad. And with every next battle, inch by inch Russian / Soviet people liberated their land from the brown plague of the German fascism and their allies.
Stalingrad was rebuilt from the complete ruins after the war ended, and the Battle of Stalingrad memorial complex was built on Mamayev Kurgan, on the banks of Volga. It consists of a number of monuments and mass graves of those who perished defending Russia.
The main monument is the towering statue, MOTHER RUSSIA, or The Motherland Calls (Russian: Родина-мать зовёт!, tr. Rodina-mat’ zavyot!). She is the reminder of the truth that can never be forgotten. (See the image on top.)

75th Anniversary of the Stalingrad Victory Parade video, Volgograd
The Polish Sejm (Parliament) has just passed a law ordering the destruction of Soviet war memorials throughout Poland. The Soviet Army liberated Poland after years of …
Yes, of course I know about this. This is one of the most sickening things I have observed in a very long time.
There are some details in my earlier BIG article/report discussing Putin – Trump G20 meeting: G20, Putin, Trump, Ivanka, Merkel, Xi, BRICS: Lada Ray Quantum Calibrations and Predictions. That report talks, among other things, about Trump’s trip to Poland in the course of which he was terribly laudatory of Poland rewriting history, and even helped them re-write history a bit in his own speech given to the Polish audience. The unfortunate truth is that in addition to being in a custom-made ‘straitjacket,’ Trump is extremely ignorant when history, and so many other things are concerned; therefore, it’s very easy to saddle him with any speech, or seduce him to make any move that someone with ulterior motives may want him to do.
As I predicted in this report, Trump’s utter ignorance of Polish true motives, multiplied by arrogance and insensitivity to other countries ended up costing him ANY cooperation from Russia he might have hoped for after his meeting with Putin at G20. In this one silly visit to Poland he simply crossed good relations with Russia off the agenda completely. But that’s what Dark State wanted to achieve, as discussed in the same article — and they did. What do you expect of US presidents, or should we say, figureheads, who, because of their utter ignorance and arrogance are so daft that they are too easy to bend to the will of those who hide in the shadows. Just look at Trump ‘inventing’ a new country in Africa during his UN Africa speech a few days ago: ‘Nambia.’ He repeatedly, and very embarrassingly said ‘Nambia,’ and everyone just ate it up. There is no Nambia, but there is a country in Africa called Namibia. My dear American readers, just know that all those African leaders who have politely listened to how well democracy is developing in ‘Nambia,’ will come home and have a good laugh at how ignorant and arrogant Americans are. As Vladimir Putin so aptly put recently, it’s Hard to work with people who confuse Austria and Australia.
And read the big report in question: G20, Putin, Trump, Ivanka, Merkel, Xi, BRICS: Lada Ray Quantum Calibrations and Predictions! For Poland episode look for subtitle TRUMP’S FAUX PAS IN POLAND. Also in the comment section of that article you’ll find extensive exchange with some Polish trolls — the trolls have been banned, but I kept the exchange for educational purposes. In the same comment section you should also find my answers to readers’ questions about Poland.
What is happening in Poland?
Simply put, as I predicted since 2014, and for that at the time I was also attacked by Polish shills: Poland has successfully turned into a bona fide Euro-fascist state.
Starting on October 1, 2017, Poland begins the wholesale destruction of over 500 memorials to WWII Russian/Soviet liberators of Poland from the Nazi Germany in 1944! This includes graves of all those poor soldiers and officers who gave their lives for that inhospitable country! Overall, several hundred thousand Soviet soldiers died liberating Poland. I have heard the numbers between 400,000 and 600,000.
In reality, a gradual desecration and destruction of Russian memorials, monuments and soldiers’ graves all over Poland has been ongoing for a long time. They never dared to do it officially, until they got an OK from the big boss across the Big Pond. This new move by the Polish government sanctifies the wholesale demolition of memory, history, truth and common decency! Poland, just like Ukraine, is in the process of re-writing history, where black is to become white, and vice versa.
Russians have been very upset about this for months, and Russia has downgraded diplomatic relations with Poland.
To be absolutely clear, Poland was one of Hitler’s early allies, and together with Nazi Germany it occupied Czechoslovakia before WWII has even begun. Per Nikolay Starikov’s extensive historic research, greedy and ultra-nationalistic Polish government got into a fight with Hitler. The issue appears to have been that Hitler requested free passage for his troops through Poland in order to attack Russia/USSR, but Poland, it appears, wanted bigger spoils than Hitler was ready to offer. As a result Hitler simply took over Poland in 1939. This move by Hitler is officially considered the start of WWII. Poland’s government fled to Romania, where it vanished(!) without a trace, and after some time, a completely different, self-appointed ‘Polish government in exile’ suddenly emerged in London. Poland as a country seized to exist the day the government fled and the country surrendered without a fight to Hitler.
About two weeks after Poland seized to exist as a country, Stalin ordered to retake territories that were ancestral Russian lands, but that ended up in Poland’s possession after 1917 Russian Revolution. These territories, which now constitute western Belarus and western Ukraine, were judged to be Russian ancestral lands stolen from Russia. However, in this case, there was another urgent reason: when country after country succumbed without a fight to Nazi invasion, The USSR wanted to create a buffer between core Russian/Ukrainian territories and potential attacker in the face of Germany.
In the course of WWII, from the aggressor it really was, Poland smoothly morphed into a poor victim, claiming this status after the end of WWII with the blessing of the USSR, which for geopolitical reasons wanted to keep Poland in its corner. All of Poland’s true evil deeds were hushed up and the USSR turned a blind eye to what Poland really was. For that reason, the USSR for years swept under the carpet some extremely gruesome facts, such as Poland executing at least 240,000 Russian/Soviet soldiers and POWs! This is in addition to several hundred thousand Soviet liberators that perished liberating Poland in 1944! The documents concerning mass executions of Russians by Poland (that’s apart from how many Russian POWs were executed by Nazi Germany and how many of them perished in Auschwitz and other death camps!) have only recently been de-classified, and now they begin emerging. Needless to say, they have shocked Russians, who were led to believe a very different version of history, including the one where 20 thousand Polish troops were executed by NKVD. As it also emerged relatively recently, this was a lie, implanted in documents during Gorbachev’s times. Gorbachev publicly admitted Russian fault and apologized for it to Poland, which caused Poland to escalate animosity and implant hatred of everything Russian in the Polish psyche. As it is now known, it was western Ukraine Bandera ukro-nazis dressed in NKVD uniforms who executed about 16,000 Polish troops, in concert with Nazi Germans.
There are many more extremely uncomfortable facts, such as Polish extreme racism and xenophobia, which I observed first-hand during my 4 visits to Poland. They were always very nice to me, calling me ‘pentna pani’ (pretty woman) – no personal complaints whatsoever. But at the time I was in Poland it was still a part of the socialist camp and it was fashionable to like Russians and have them as friends. However, during my visit, I saw with my very eyes how a huge mob of Poles bullied and beat up one poor black guy, who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The fact is that latent Polish racism, xenophobia and natural inclination towards Nazism have never disappeared. These life-threatening low calibration phenomena just take different forms and are directed against new imaginary enemies, depending on who gives orders in Warsaw — and to Warsaw.
Today, they hate everyone, but first and foremost, Russia is enemy No. 1. Guess what, this is why their American bosses pay them big bucks: barking at Russia and escalating tension and conflict on EU’s eastern borders.
Poland is a subservient vassal of the US. The reason constant tension is necessary is to keep the EU together and united against one common enemy, which is Russia, of course. Otherwise, the EU would fall apart much faster. And another reason, connected to the first: US must keep EU subservient and dependent on US bases and weapons. If there really is no Russian threat, then US bases and US troops can go home, can’t they? Then there is no need for NATO, right? And finally, the US Military-Industrial Complex will lose lucrative European market and go bankrupt, won’t it? They can’t let any of this happen, can they? Poland loves to scream about independence and ‘gonor’ (pride). But in reality they always were a quintessential for-sale-country — to anyone who pays them most.
In addition to all the above, I recently learned about another disgusting development: there is a movement gaining traction in Poland, called ‘the good Ukrainian is a dead Ukrainian.’ Poles are called on killing migrant workers from Ukraine. As I said, Poland is essentially a camouflaged fascist state, although it likes to pretend it’s a victim.
So yes, I know very well about the destruction of over 500 monuments to Soviet soldiers, liberators of Poland. The destruction is supposed to begin on October 1, 2017. However, vandalism and destruction of Russian monuments and Russian churches has been going on in Poland for a long time.
This is such a disgusting and sickening subject that I didn’t want to bring it up on my blog again, following a brief mention in the above-referenced initial article on Putin-Trump G20 meeting. I am only doing this for clarification purposes, per reader request.
Frankly, I also am extremely disgusted about Polish shills and trolls. I really, really didn’t want to go there, but I guess I have to:
A WARNING TO POLISH TROLLS! Any POLISH OR OTHER shill/troll will be immediately outed, all of such troll’s personal info will be publicly exposed, if necessary, EU and/or corresponding country’s authorities will be contacted, and of course such shill/troll will be immediately banned — PER BLOG RULES!

Engineering Feat of the 21st Century: Crimean Bridge Brings Together Previously Unconnectable Shores
The Crimean Bridge, correctly called in Russian Krimsky Most or Kerchensky Most (the Kerch Bridge), is nearing completion, and may even be opened to traffic ahead of schedule in 2018!
The Crimean Bridge connects something that was previously considered unconnectable: The Crimean Peninsula and mainland Russia, through the Kerch Strait between Black and Azov Seas.
This construction has already been dubbed ‘The Engineering Feat of the 21st Century.’ You may ask, what is all the noise about? Why is it such a big deal and why it’s so important geopolitically, economically, and as yet another step towards full Russian sovereignty and fulfillment of Russia’s destiny as THE GREAT BALANCER, DURING THIS EARTH SHIFT.
Right near the surface there are these obvious reasons:
1. The Crimean Bridge is a symbol. Of what? First of all, of the awakening and re-consolidation of Russia – The Great Balancer. The giant, which sometimes goes to sleep to meditate on the past and recuperate from previous ills, is re-awakening.
Russia’s role as the Great Balancer is paramount for this Great Earth Shift. Russia has to be at her best and strongest. The fact that such a significant bridge is being built is a sign that Russia is getting back into shape.
It is also a symbol that reminds people where they belong and what is right and what is wrong. It’s the bridge that connects and awakens people not only in Russia, but in many other places, including Ukraine (and those sorely need an awakening!).
2. It is already considered the most impressive sea bridge in the world. The total length of the bridge is 20 km. A very long and massive bridge, this billions-worth mega-infrastructure project, is being successfully fulfilled despite all the Western anti-Russia sanctions.
This multipurpose strategic project will tremendously boost the economical auto and train traffic to and from Crimea. This, in turn, will eliminate traffic jams, boost tourism to Crimean resorts and lower prices. A win-win for Crimea and all of Russia.
3. The bridge is necessary to ensure a complete infrastructure independence of Crimea from Ukraine, which in turn takes away some blackmail and sabotage leverage from the Kiev junta, EU and US.
I previously wrote how Kiev junta, in collusion with the Crimean Tartar Mejlis and ukro-nazi battalions blew up power transformers and demolished power lines to Crimea, leaving 2.5 million people without power in December 2015, in the middle of winter and right before holidays. Together with the Western sanctions, this was designed to cripple Russia and ignite a color revolution among unhappy Crimeans. During such confusion and/or color revolution, Kiev/Mejlis and their foreign sponsors — US/CIA, and at the time also Turkey — hoped to invade Crimea.
Russia immediately responded to the challenge by beginning an urgent construction of the underwater Energy Bridge to Crimea from mainland, through the Kerch Strait.
Those who masterminded and financed this mass sabotage, knew that Crimean infrastruture depended completely on the favor of Ukraine. Moreover, they calculated that due to the USSR breakup and ’90s pirate privatization Russia had stopped producing certain equipment necessary to quickly eliminate the Crimean power deficiency, such as underwater electric cables, emergency generators and portable power stations. Shipping also was a huge problem; they counted on the fact that the only railroad and only two highways to Crimea were built through Ukraine.
Again, as I emphasized many times before, ALL infrastructure was built on the territory we today call Ukraine, by Russia. It all began with the Russian tsars and industrial entrepreneurs in the 18th-19th centuries, starting with Catherine the Great. The USSR continued the development and building up of Ukraine.
What we know today as Donbass, with all its mining and industrial activity, was created by Russia; Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk, and innumerable other towns, cities and ports were founded throughout earlier centuries by Catherine the Great or other Russian emperors, or by the Soviets in the 20th century.
Those who yell and scream about Ukraine being completely independent of Russia are simply usurious liars, who are eating through the last remnants of the formerly rich Russian/Soviet inheritance, which Ukraine was lucky to obtain as a result of the break-up of the USSR.
During the December 2015 power outage, as a result of Western sanctions, no Western company would supply electric generators so the children and the elderly of Crimea wouldn’t freeze to death. Russia found a quick solution to this: portable power generators, and even whole portable power plants, were purchased from China. Some of these were delivered to Crimea as quickly as within 2 weeks.
Russia also immediately began construction of the underwater Power Bridge through the Kerch Strait, consisting of 4 lines of power cables. The power cables were also supplied by China on an emergency basis. First two power lines were completed in record time, before the New Year 2016. The last two were built by May 2016. New power plants were urgently built in Crimea, as well. As a result, not only Crimea now has enough self-sufficient power, it actually has a surplus of it, in order to accommodate a growing number of tourists.
Along with the Power Bridge, new phone and TV cable underwater bridges from mainland were also built. As a result Crimea became almost completely independent of Ukraine’s whims.
Next, Kiev tried the ‘food blockade’ of Crimea. The same thugs, such as Mejlis and ukro-nazis (all banned terrorist organizations in Russia, by the way), stopped farming produce trucks from Kherson, Nikolaev and Odessa, and didn’t let them pass to Crimea. As a result, it wasn’t Crimea that suffered: they damaged Ukrainian agriculture and put their own farmers in dire straits. Crimea quickly replaced Ukrainian supplies with those from other countries, including Turkey.
This was an interesting twist, and here’s why: Turkish extremists, working together with Mejlis, participated in the sabotage of Crimea; Turkey had high hopes of annexing Crimea for a long time. There is credible intel that Kiev, in collusion with the US, planned to pass Crimea to Turkey in exchange for Turkey’s continued hosting of US/EU NATO bases on its territory. At least in part it was Turkish money that financed Mejlis and their various terrorist activities.
However, Putin had managed to successfully neutralize these activities and ‘aspirations’ by Turkey, in his usual brilliant chess grandmaster style. I wrote about all this in EARTH SHIFT REPORTS 7 and 13. Well worth the read!
And as I wrote in 2014, US planed to turn Crimea into its massive military/navy base since early 2000s. Preparations were underway. But then in March 2014, after the Kiev coup, Crimeans ‘suddenly’ decided to reunite with Russia — and what a surprise it was for those who know nothing of the world and other cultures, but think they can rule this world. I can tell you: in Washington, they still can’t recover from the Crimea independence shock… They really did think Crimea was theirs for the taking.
After all the above failed, Kiev junta and CIA had taken to attempting terror acts inside Crimea. Russian FSB was extremely successful and efficient in apprehending ALL would-be terrorists, along with their subversive equipment.
The plan of synchronized multiple attacks on Crimea from within was rather grand: they were preparing to blow up the Crimean Bridge, blow up power stations and poison potable water all over the peninsula, thus creating humanitarian catastrophe, shortages, mass panic and confusion. All this was supposed to happen simultaneously, in a coordinated effort. The entire, grandly designed plan collapsed when FSB began apprehending Ukraine SBU operatives involved in it. Apprehended were also some Ukrainian sleeper cells and Crimean Tartars secretly involved with Mejlis.
Therefore, all possible ways to sabotage Russia and Crimea had failed.
At this point, the West has finally understood that Crimea is a forever part of Russia. No discussion and no stipulations. The EU has been timidly talking about lessening or taking off completely anti-Russian sanctions. However, predictably, their big boss from across the ocean won’t let them.
It has to be also noted that despite the blockade and animosity by Ukraine, in 2017 alone hundreds of thousands of Ukraine citizens continued vacationing in Crimea. Similarly, hundreds of thousands also worked as seasonal migrant workers, since Crimean salaries (now that it’s a part of Russia) are presently 2-4 times more than on the other side.
In addition to the Crimean Bridge, Russia is also building a new railroad, to bypass Ukraine completely. This railroad from Moscow and central Russia goes around Ukraine and will eventually continue through Crimean (Kerch) Bridge into Crimea. This will resolve any remaining transportation issues.
But there’s so much more beneath the surface! Why is the Crimean Bridge touted ‘the Feat of the 21st Century?’
In previous centuries, there were multiple attempts to build a bridge between mainland and Crimea, through the Kerch Strait — the narrowest point between two shores. However, all of these attempts failed.
The Kerch Strait is a point of separation between The small Azov Sea in the north, and a much larger Black Sea to the south. People who had never been to those parts may think that Black Sea is a quiet internal sea, which should be pretty safe. They can’t even imagine how unsafe and turbulent Black Sea can be. The area of the Black Sea around Kerch is considered one of the most stormy and hard to navigate. Currents between Azov and Black Seas can be deadly and changeable. Winds are very powerful. This is why the eastern-most part of Crimea, the Kerch Peninsula, had never really developed as a resort. People flocked to the quiet and soothing southern parts, such as Yalta. Instead, Kerch historically served as one of the Russian fleet bases.
The first attempt to build a bridge between the narrowest part of the Kerch Strait and mainland was made during the Russian Empire, in the 19th century. Crimea was growing as a resort and vineyards, and more convenient access points were wanted. However, strong winds and currents overcame the budding bridge very quickly and the project was abandoned, although calls to restart it continued.
In the 20th century two most dramatic attempts to build a bridge took place. In the 1930s, the USSR began the construction of the bridge through the same narrow part of the Kerch Strait. The temporary bridge was built and began working. Joseph Stalin rode the bridge to Crimea, and later returned to mainland via the same bridge. The day after Stalin’s passage the bridge collapsed.
During the Great Patriotic War (WWII) Hitler decided to build a bridge to Crimea in order to invade Crimea from more than one direction. The bridge was almost completed when it collapsed and was carried away by the current, taking innumerable invaders with it.
After WWII the USSR never attempted another bridge. I do think that Khrushchev’s decision to pass Crimea under the administrative umbrella of the Ukrainian SSR was a huge geopolitical mistake. However, I’ll venture to guess that the difficulty and inconvenience of communication and transportation between the peninsula and Russian mainland was at least a contributing factor in his decision. The idea was that being under the UkrSSR administrative umbrella, Crimea would have a smoother logistics. Of course at the time, no one dreamed that Russia and Ukraine may not be together.
The construction of the new Russsian Crimean Bridge / Kerch Bridge started after the 2014 ukro-nazi coup in Kiev, and following the power-and-food blockade. By then it became abundantly clear that there was no reasoning with Ukraine’s junta.
In the 21 century the new technologies, unavailable to previous generations, are used to build this seemingly impossible to build bridge.
One of the things that was done differently: the bridge is NOT being built through the narrowest part of the strait, which is by far the shortest, but is also the most dangerous. Instead, a substantially longer, but safer area was chosen. Another technological breakthrough: the extra-long and extra-powerful pillars, which are screwed into the sea bed. The trick is, these don’t go into the sea bed straight, but at specific angles, which makes the whole structure much more stable.
Yesterday, the great news arrived: the main railway arch of the bridge was delivered and set in place. The creation and installation of this giant central arch is a feat in itself. Its length is almost 300 meters, and it weighs 6,600 tones. It was the very first time in history that such large object was pre-built on land, then delivered intact by sea and installed whole in the middle of the sea.

As I mentioned, the Crimean Bridge project is perceived as an important and meaningful symbol in Russia. At this moment, Russia’s most important music festival is taking place in Sochi. It is called The New Wave (Novaya Volna). At the New Wave, one of the best known Russian singers, Oleg Gazmanov, has presented new song ‘Krimsky Most’ (‘The Crimean Bridge’). The song is the winner of the ‘Crimean Bridge Song Competition’ and is written by a driver from Ivanovo, together with his children ~ see my additional info and video in this post’s COMMENT SECTION!
Listen up – a nice melody:
P.S. Incidentally, the New Wave festival for years took place in Yurmala, Latvia. This is a grand international annual event, bringing together new and established musical talent from many countries. At this international festival all songs are performed in Russian. After Latvia joined anti-Russian sanctions in 2014 and began denying visas to Russian singers, such as the aforementioned Oleg Gazmanov, Novaya Volna (the New Wave) was moved to Sochi. Simultaneously, a prestigious Russian comedy competition, also taking place in Yurmala, Latvia, was also moved onto Russian territory. And then, another extremely prestigious and mega-popular international summer music and humor festival, called Muzikalny Kivin (Musical Kivin) was also moved from Latvia to the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, also located on the Baltic coast.
Therefore, overnight Latvia lost multi-million Russian tourism and music festival business.
But I’m sure Latvia is doing just fine! After all, instead of the uplifting music festivals and peaceful tourists, a few hundred US soldiers moved into town as part of NATO expansion, due to ‘imminent Russian invasion threat.’ Surely, they’ll spend in local bars and (excuse me) brothels much more than hundreds of thousands of Russian music-lovers and beach-goers would! I hear US/NATO soldiers stationed in Riga tend to conveniently forget to pay for their drinks and taxi rides, so that at times local bartenders and taxi drivers have to beat it out of them. Fast karma?..

Austria’s constitutional court has overturned the result of May presidential elections that saw an independent candidate narrowly snatch victory from a right-wing party leader. The annulment is an unprecedented move by the Austrian court, based on technicality. It took place after an extremely contested and close election, when the Green Party’s Van Der Bellen, running as independent, won by a margin of 30,000 votes. The result has been successfully contested in court by the right-wing candidate Norbert Hofer.
In May 2016 the former Green Party head Van Der Bellen, who participated in elections as independent, ran against the ruling centrist party, the popular socialist party, as well as the candidate for the right-wing, euroskeptic/ anti-emigration party, Norbert Hofer.
In a stunning development both of the traditional parties – the ruling centrists and the socialists – lost in the first round. This reminds me of Marine le Pen’s win in the first round of the French local elections.
The second round saw two remaining candidates, both from formerly fringe parties, competing: Van Der Bellen and Norbert Hofer. Van Der Bellen, who trailed Hofer in the first round, won by the slightest of margins when he received the votes of others who were against the far-right agenda. In the September election rerun Hofer is very likely to win.
For those who aren’t familiar with Austrian political landscape, The Green Party is a leftist party. Both traditional centrists and socialists in fact represent the political CENTER, as it is commonly understood today. Meanwhile, as I said many times previously, what passes for the far-right in most EU countries – except Poland, Baltics and Romania – are in fact just very conservative and isolationist parties.
Europe, which is extremely afraid of the resurgence of fascism (rightly so), and of communism (that’s silly), has kept both left-wing and right-wing parties on the fringes.
LADA RAY PREDICTIONS and TRENDCAST
Since 2012 I have predicted the resurgence of the right-wing (see my predictions re. Marine Le Pen in France).
Several years of ongoing EU crises, as it always happens during such times, brought the right-wing movement out of the shadows. In this regard, there is a certain resonance with how Hitler came to power in the devastated and humiliated post WWI Germany.
To mention that which is hidden from most eyes: the rise of the right-wing, global extremism and various revolt movements are absolutely typical for PERIOD 8. You may have heard me mention this term, which I base on the secret knowledge of the esoteric master Chinese numerology and Feng Shui known to only a few masters worldwide. However I’d never expanded on how it works and what it means within my Earth Shift Theory. I will explain it eventually.
In my latest Special Predictions Video EARTH SHIFT REPORT 12: THE FUTURE OF THE EU (recorded on June 19-20, 2016) I’ve continued expanding on the rise of the right-wing political parties. I explained what role such right-wing resurgence plays in the EU revolt, and how left-wing and right-wing could (and should) work together, instead of against each other, in order to change the system in a meaningful way.
In THE FUTURE OF THE EU I also discussed my assessment and predictions regarding political movements: 1. ‘Centrists’ are universally hated in the West due to their NWO and neo-liberal/ neocon association. The vast majority of parties that have traditionally been in power in the West are tainted.
In ESR12 I also predicted that the traditional 20th century labeling of parties as ‘centrist,’ leftist,’ or ‘right-wing’ is archaic and will go away soon. Eventually, any party or movement will be judged by their attitude towards Russia, EU, a country’s sovereignty, emigration, NATO/GMO/TTIP and various associations, US hegemony and dollar. These will be the key criteria for the voters determining how to vote, not the usual party labels!
Is the new fascization of Europe possible? Is a new Hitler or Napoleon possible in the EU? Is a repeat of WWII possible in Europe? These are the fears of many.
My firm prediction: it is not possible. The contemporary right-wing parties, as I said, are not physically aggressive comparative to the aggression of Hitler and typical fascists/nazis (just compare them to Kiev ukro-nazis). They are more of intellectual right-wingers. This is a Fourth Dimension (4D) approach, which moves the conflict into the realm of the mind. (Read Lada Ray Multi-dimensional Theory: 3D-4D-5D).
Moreover, the resurgence of the right-wing is a defensive mechanism against the EU crisis and emigration. Such fast resurgence of the right is only possible during times of existential crisis, as the ultimate defence mechanism. In good and stable times, the majority votes for stability, hence voters will choose centrists. If the many current EU crises were managed better, the extreme parties wouldn’t be as popular. They will continue being popular until the West finds a new equilibrium, which will take time. This is just the beginning.
Additionally, such swift rise of Hitler was possible only because UK/US fed him loans and technologies, as well as fed his ego on an unprecedented scale in order to attack and destroy Russia with his hands. The stupidity of Hitler was that he took the bait – the rest is history. This was not the first and not the last time Anglo-Americans created a monster and then had to fight him.
My prediction on this point is three-fold: 1. US and UK are now on the defensive and have no sufficient resource to ‘subvert’ entire Europe; 2. Ukraine was possible to subvert – EU is not. Europeans are very alert nowadays and won’t let that happen; 3. What’s more, Russia won’t let that happen.
The EU right-wingers today will not be fed loans or technologies. And they have no goals of global dominance either.
The present situation is a reverse of Hitler’s Germany situation: this is a defensive reaction. It is isolationist, the opposite of expansive or aggressive, in its nature.
Final prediction and trendcast for today:
The profound polarization of the Western society, accompanied by confusion and frequent flip-flopping is the new trend. This concerns various referendums and elections, as we have already seen with BREXIT and Austrian elections.
This trend will be very visible in the US during US presidential elections 2016.
Consequently: confusion and polarization are key words, the rise of the right being a protest movement to current EU and global conditions.
If you haven’t yet, I strongly recommend you order my latest bestselling Special Predictions ESR12: THE FUTURE OF THE EU. You can watch it, or, if you prefer, just listen to the narrative.
In ESR12 I talk about centrists, right wingers and leftists in PART 2. Here is the run down of the relevant section of the report:
The inert masses, NWO, global elites and centrists (Hillary Clinton, Merkel, Cameron, Hollande, etc.)
Anti-establishment revolts and the rise of the political right
How left and right could work together
Lada Ray’s view: liberals, conservatives, leftists, centrists, right-wingers – why such classification is archaic and outdated. Why we need to judge who’s who differently. What are the main criteria for figuring out who’s really who politically?
France: Marine Le Pen, Austrian elections, UK/BREXIT: Nigel Farange/Boris Johnson
A warning for David Cameron. Why was Cameron’s father implicated in the Panama Papers leak?
A word about 2016 US elections, Trump and Clinton

(Incidentally, if you are on the fence, do hurry to order ESR12 because I don’t know at this point how long I’ll keep this report donation-based and how long it will be available to the general public)
Also read my recent article, which provides additional predictions and analytics: BREXIT Results and Massive New Global Trends
As also predicted in ESR12 and the above BREXIT article, the immediate BREXIT aftermath is taking place. I plan a separate article on this developing aftermath soon. Expect it in a week or so.

SPRING 2016 UKRAINE REPORT! Nuclear Disaster, Elenovka Tragedy, War Against Memory, What Russia Wants
May Holidays and the dangerous spring 2016
This is a cold and dangerous spring of 2016. At least in Ukraine it is. So much is going on that I’ve decided to publish this new UKRAINE report in two parts.
Part 1 addresses a number of crucial new events and important threats facing Ukraine. These are:
1 The shocking Elenovka tragedy – a clear proof of Kiev breaking Minsk-2 peace agreement.
2 Polish and Ukrainian war against Russian monuments and their own history.
3. Chernobyl-2 in the making: persistent dire warnings of possible new nuclear disaster in Ukraine!
Also in this report:
4. The whole truth about Hitler and Nazi Germany.
5. What does Russia really want in Ukraine?
6. How Putin and Lavrov, through peaceful means and reason, outplayed Merkel and Hollande and why Poroshenko won’t be able to attack DNR and LNR.
7. A concise Lada Ray guide to Ukraine’s parts (See additional maps and complete explanation in ESR6: NEW KHAZARIAN KHAGANATE.)
8. Why the pristine Kherson Oblast I once knew is being turned into a disaster zone, being invaded by ISIS militants and the ‘right sector.’ More in the future Earth Shift Report: CRIMEAN AGENDA.
9. Worrying news from Odessa! City’s bracing for possible civil war on May 2 and May 9. The world’s eyes are on Odessa! Part 2 of this report, SPRING 2016 ODESSA REPORT, will put in perspective the dangerous events expected there.
10. Plus, a pre-announcement: upcoming surprise Earth Shift Report re. big changes in EU!
We are approaching May Holidays (RUS: Maiskie prazdniki)
What is that? Maiskie prazdniki is the cumulative name for two holidays: May Day on May 1, which is celebrated as both the day of spring and nature and as the international day of worker solidarity, and May 9, or Victory Day, marking the end of WWII and the Russian victory. Both are very widely celebrated in the entire Russian World / post-Soviet space.
During this period the provocations and clashes in Ukraine are widely expected. Also expected are provocations in other post-Soviet and Eastern Europe countries.
Poland’s war against monuments to Soviet soldiers, those who died liberating Poland from fascism
Polish government is descending more and more into fascism. It has announced the dismantling of something like 500 monuments to Russian soldiers, who liberated Poland during WWII. Hundreds of thousands of Russian and other Soviet soldiers who gave their lives for Poland, had been buried on Polish land. In the past several years vandals desecrated many Russian burial sites and Polish authorities dismantled many Russian monuments. In fact, those local mayors who resist dismantling monuments experience threats from the government and Polish nationalists.
It has to be noted that some simple Poles have been writing to the Russian Foreign Ministry with apologies for the actions of the Polish vandals destroying the Russian soldiers’ graves all over the country and the Polish government destroying monuments. Some try to restore and protect them. I’ll refrain from posting the graphic images here, but you can find them online, or search for videos on YT.
In this post I wasn’t planning on invoking the obvious word: karma. But there will be consequences for such actions. I’m not talking about any ‘Russian vengeance’ here. Not at all. I am talking about divine justice.
Incidentally, I warned about Poland’s descent into madness, isolation and hatred since 2014. Back then, a Polish woman indignantly wrote to me that I had no idea what I was talking about, that Poland would never, blah, blah… And, oh, look: just a couple of years later – as predicted!
Their biggest fear is the United Eurasia: the plan to keep Europe and Russia separate
The campaign of dismantling Russian monuments and other anti-Russian hysteria in Poland is accompanied with the usual BS about ‘Russian occupation.’
This convenient mantra was slapped together by the Transatlantic handlers for their current Eastern Europe vassals back in the 1960s-1980s. At that time it was used to tear as many countries as possible away from the USSR. Today it serves the purpose of artificially keeping the people of Eastern Europe and Russia apart. By stoking a fire wall of animosity between Russia and EU’s Eastern Europe members, the puppet masters are able to keep the Iron Curtain between Western Europe and Russia alive and well.
This is all a part of the same global game of weakening and isolating Russia from the rest of Europe. The creators of this lie are the same as the creators of anti-Russian sanctions and the ‘subversion’ of Ukraine. They will do anything to keep Russia and Europe apart. The thing they fear most is the re-unification of Eurasia into one continuous cooperative and mutually beneficial space – as it historically was and as it’s supposed to be.
In ESR8: BLACK SEA GAMBIT I talk at length about Stratfor Baltic-Black Sea Plan and how Poland is being used to erect a new Iron Curtain between EU and Russia.
Please read ESR8 for a full picture, tying together the worrying events in Poland, Odessa, Pridnestrovie, Moldova, the Balkans and Caucasus. Nothing that happens in those convoluted for the Westerners parts, happens by accident!
The whole truth about Hitler and Nazi Germany
The destruction of Ukraine on all levels continues. A big part of it is the destruction of human memory, re-writing of the genetic code and own history. As Ukraine descends into fascist madness, it is simultaneously ‘decommunizing.’
Hmm… we’ve seen this before in one nice European country, called Germany. The outcome of the German Nazis’ all-consuming thirst for denial and destruction of others is well-known: it caused the near destruction of Germany itself.
It’s amazing to me how short and selective human memory is! I hear everywhere – even heard it a couple of times from my own readers – that Hitler was a good guy and that it was UK and US that made him take the slippery road to destruction. Frankly, I have very little patience with people like that, so I’ll just say it this once.
One: these are the kind of people who think they are independent thinkers because they read this in some obscure book and because they think it’s unconventional to think this way. In reality, they simply regurgitate someone’s hidden agenda.
Two: Yes, it is true that Hitler and Germany were manipulated into starting World War II. Simultaneously, they were pumped up with credits and technology by UK and US. The ultimate goal of this scheme was to unleash Hitler on Russia/USSR in order to destroy the only country that always stood, and continues standing, in the way of Anglo-American globalist expansion and the complete takeover of the world. Along the way, they wanted to destroy another rival – Germany itself.
However, the whole point of being a national leader is to be smart enough to see the pitfalls and traps prepared for you and your country. I am leaving aside Hitler’s hideous national-fascist Nazi ideology, which is partially explainable by Germany’s defeat in WWI. But only just. Again, who was forcing Germany to BEGIN WWI? Yes, they were manipulated by the same forces. But where was the wisdom and common sense?
There, obviously, was none. Incidentally, a German philosopher said: ‘Every country deserves its government.’ Germans ELECTED Hitler and watched indifferently as he prosecuted those who had a different opinion inside the country. The people of Germany also watched and participated(!) as Hitler invaded and looted country after country. Incidentally, the same was true for Japan, which invaded and brutally killed millions of Chinese, Mongols and other Asians.
IF national leadership and the people of Germany allowed themselves to succumb to outside manipulation, if they knowingly benefited from the tragedy and suffering of millions of others, if they CHOSE to purposefully and willingly participate in inflicting terrible destruction on the peaceful people all over the globe – they are responsible and there is nothing that can change that! Hitler and all those who were a part of the German/Japanese/Romanian aggression against other countries are war criminals and their crimes can never be forgotten, unless humans want a repeat of 1914, 1939 and 1941.
Some may say there was no choice. There always is a choice! Some Germans went to concentration camps or were killed because they spoke up. Others became anti-fascists and resistance partisans, or surrendered to Russian troops because they refused to participate in the massacre of Russians, Soviets and Europeans.
Three: I just have one simple number for you – 27 million lives. This is what Hitler’s and Romanian aggression (in Odessa and Moldavia) cost Russia and the entire USSR. Primary losses were in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Two members of my family died and more were wounded during the Great War of 1941-1945.
36 million Chinese were massacred by the Japanese aggressors during WWII period.
Incidentally, I have absolutely no problem with German people. Two of my best friends in school were Germans; I love Germany and German culture. Same goes for American, Polish, Japanese, or any other people anywhere on the globe.
It’s not about anyone’s culture or nationality – it’s about world view and civilizational choice. It’s also about one’s conscience.
That said, on this site we have zero tolerance for anyone who promotes Hitler or Nazis/fascists of any sort. Permanent ban will be implemented against anyone who posts such comments. See BLOG RULES on top bar.
What Russia really wants in Ukraine
Ukraine won’t be able to repeat the German fate, no matter how much Kiev ukro-nazis try, because Russia won’t let that happen. If Russia weren’t doing everything to keep Ukraine from descending into ultimate madness and complete self-destruction, if Russia played by the same devious rules as the West, by now we would see the entire territory of Ukraine in the midst of civil war. The loss of life, coupled with the destruction of most infrastructure, would be much more widespread.
As it stands, Ukraine is doing an excellent job of imploding all by itself, even when others try hard to cushion the fall.
I wrote in ESR8: BLACK SEA GAMBIT that the West has no idea how many means of secret influence, intel gathering and sabotage Russia does possess in Odessa. The same exact thing is true for all of Ukraine. The reason Russia isn’t using these means is one and only: Russia is trying to preserve the lives, infrastructure and psyche of Ukrainians.
Russia is doing everything humanly possible to gently neutralize the US plan: turning one part of the Russian people against another part of the Russian people.
The West is using Ukraine as a puppet and a disposable tool to manipulate and weaken Russia.
Meanwhile, Russia’s goal is to keep Ukraine as intact as possible in the midst of self-inflicted destructive psychosis, activated and supported by foreign entities. Feel the crucial difference!
As I predicted back in 2014: Russia continues carefully and patiently remolding the situation in Ukraine, which eventually will lead to Ukraine’s turnaround. To do that, Russia is absolutely correctly treating Ukraine with kid gloves, even when it doesn’t deserve them.
Russia is Ukraine’s only hope for survival. Russia treats Ukraine and Ukrainians with kindness and forgiveness of a mother or father, who, despite the cruelty and bad behavior of a prodigal child, knows that one day that child will learn its lesson and return home. No one else needs or wants Ukraine, with all its problems.
Despite all difficulties, this, only correct, strategy is starting to bear fruit. Look at how different some European countries’ position is today, compared to 2014! Remember my 2014 predictions? More and more people in Ukraine and West will be awakening to the understanding of what’s going on; slowly, gradually, Ukraine will be turning back towards Russia and away from the West.
But the task ahead is truly monumental. After 25+ years of Soros/US/ukro-nazi brainwashing, coupled with oligarchic infestation and socio-economic disaster, some younger Ukrainians had forgotten who they were, succumbing to anti-Russian propaganda. It will be very hard, but possible, to rehabilitate this lost generation.
As it is, Ukraine had lost its way 25 years ago and it must go through this cleansing process. When health has been neglected for so long, the cleansing never looks pretty. There is no way of going forward without getting rid of old problems first.
But on the surface, it seems the opposite to my hopeful forecast is taking place. Today’s situation in Ukraine resembles the expression ‘it’s darkest before the dawn.’
Chernobyl 2: New nuclear disaster in the making!
On the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy, the loud expert warnings sound that the remaining functioning Ukrainian nuclear stations are a disaster waiting to happen. They have begun replacing the compatible Russian nuclear fuel with American Westinghouse fuel, which proved to be incompatible. This fuel was previously rejected by other Russian-built nuclear stations, for example, in Slovakia and in Ukraine itself.
Kiev’s severing ties with Russia means that stations are not being properly maintained and Russian-made parts are not replaced on time. All four stations are getting old, approaching a point of no return. Using the incompatible Westinghouse parts may lead to a catastrophe.
The biggest worry is the reckless exploitation schedule. Due to power shortages after Ukraine refused to maintain the unified power grid with Russia, operators are forced to constantly speed up reactors to maximum capacity during peak hours. Such experiments led to Chernobyl catastrophe 30 years ago.
The Elenovka tragedy
Two days ago Kiev executed a targeted bombing against peaceful civilians. Six people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and scores wounded, in Elenovka village. These people were sitting in their cars near border control post between DNR and Ukraine, waiting in line to cross to the other side. Some of them were retirees forced to drive to Ukrainian side to get their pensions, others – on their way to visit families or tend to their fields stuck on the other side.
Because Kiev continues shutting down border crossings, more and more have to use the same crossing, resulting in long lines. People sometimes have to spend the night in their cars, waiting for their turn to cross. Just before the shelling, locals reported hearing a Ukrainian drone, and shortly after, the Minsk-agreement banned heavy Ukrainian artillery began shelling cars with sleeping people inside.
Link to video with the aftermath of the Elenovka tragedy. Warning! It’s very graphic!
In my recent post Poroshenko Prepares New War in Donbass? Why US, EU and OSCE are Blind and Deaf? I said:
“If Kiev can’t attack directly, what can Ukraine do? Instead, they are attempting to provoke DNR and LNR. To accomplish that they continuously shell peaceful citizens and villages near frontline. The idea is to anger the republics so much that they lose their cool and begin retaliating, thus breaking Minsk 2 agreement. After that Kiev, US and EU get to blame DNR/LNR and, of course, Russia in violating cease-fire. If that should happen, Kiev and US will immediately demand new sanctions against Russia and attempt to vilify Russia and Putin yet again.
This is why DNR/LNR can’t respond to obvious provocations. The especial cruelty of the situation is in the fact that innocent people and animals suffer under shellings, with no recourse.”
This new provocation falls in line with Kiev tactics of trying to provoke DNR/LNR into retaliating. Poroshenko is desperate. He is being pressured by EU, and now even by US due the election year, to start fulfilling Minsk agreement’s demands. He can’t do that because his own Rada will tear him apart. His only choice is to re-start armed conflict in Donbass to delay Minsk-2 fulfillment. This is why provocations, targeting peaceful civilians, will continue.
My prediction is that the Elenovka tragedy won’t go as planned by Kiev. The plan to provoke DNR into retaliating is needed to distract Ukraine’s public from internal problems, to re-ignite animosity against Russia, to delay the implementation of Minsk 2, to blame the republics for breaking the truce, and to instigate renewed sanctions against Russia in the wake of EU gearing up for their removal. However, all this will backfire.
Instead, the brutal killing of innocents will serve as yet another clear international proof of Kiev breaking the Minsk agreements. This event will put yet another nail in the coffin of the Kiev junta and its support by the West (many more nails still required, but it’s a start). If not, then EU, US, Canada, IMF and NATO will publicly demonstrate to all that they condone the slaughter of innocent civilians. Before some crucial referendums and elections, and in view of recent EU and US criticisms, this won’t look good.
The revolt in the EU has already begun: French parliament votes to lift anti-Russian sanctions imposed by EU. Recently, the people of the Netherlands have voted ‘NO’ in a referendum on Ukraine’s EU association. These are the first harbingers of spring, more to come soon!
Ukraine’s war on monuments – war on its history and genetic memory
Scores and scores of Lenin monuments have been destroyed all over Ukraine. Let’s recall that ‘Ukraine’ as a state-like entity was first created by Lenin as part of the USSR. Before that, there was no country called Ukraine, not even an autonomy.
The destruction of Lenin and other monuments all over Ukraine is accompanied with the wholesale looting and re-sale of parts of these monuments. The video below shows how many such monuments were destroyed and how the enterprising ukro-nazis posted ads all over the internet to sell parts of ‘Illich.’ A whole bust of Lenin, painted in blue-yellow Ukrainian colors, slightly dented: $35,000. Another internet ad about a sale of parts of what used to be a Lenin monument: ‘own a piece of history: made out of rare material, the same used to build the Red Square Mausoleum, price depends on body part.’ Disgusted yet? I am.
If Ukraine’s president, parliament, oligarchs and army can sell the entire country, why can’t these small ‘wheelers-and-dealers’ sell pieces of their history and heritage?
Video (The map of destroyed monuments reads: ’25 monuments to Lenin were destroyed, 5 – attempted to be destroyed.’ By now, I’d say there are many more):
This is the newest one, which happened yesterday: in Kiev, Ukraine, Ukrainian fascists from ‘the right sector and ‘azov’ tried to destroy Soviet monument to Chekisti – RUS: чекисты. The monument is to the first Extraordinary Commission’s servicemen circa Russian Civil War and first years of the USSR (1918-1925). The abbreviation ‘чк’ (pronounced as ‘chekah’) was used to designate the counter-intelligence investigative unit, establish by Lenin in 1918. Later it would be called NKVD and after that, KGB.
Again, let’s remember that without Lenin the entity we today call Ukraine would NOT exist. The territory was slapped together of a number of different areas of South Russia (Yuzhnaya Rossia, aka, Novorossia) and Malorossia (below see my guide to the parts of Ukraine).
VIDEO: ukro-nazis attempting to destroy the granite monument, with hardly a dent.
While not everyone agrees with the methods used by the Chekisti, it is still a part of Russian, Soviet, and therefore Ukrainian, history. Its role was often viewed as controversial, but also necessary, for as long as the country was in the deathly fight for its very survival.
The right thing to do is to accept what happened as part of the country’s history. Only by making peace with the past can one move forward. If you deny your past, your history, you deny yourself. In this regard, Russians are wisely accepting all facets of their past, good and bad. This is why Russia today is where it is, and Ukraine is where it is.
The Chekisti monument was built to last. As you see from this short clip, despite many days of efforts to destroy it, the monument was hardly dented. As one person commented: ‘The Chekisti are just looking down with disdain on these morons.’
The destruction of monuments in Poland and Ukraine are manifestations of the same darkness-induced craze that we are observing in Syria, where ISIS destroys priceless, UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as ancient Palmyra.
Normal people build. The urge to destroy what others have built is a manifestation of an overwhelming darkness experienced by the confused, undereducated and zombified minds, with violent tendencies.
Ukraine is a large country. A small minority of these thugs keeps in fear the majority. But I have to emphasize yet again that none of this would have been possible if these dregs of society were not supported and encouraged by the West! The West, especially and specifically the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Brussels, as well as their stooges in Poland and Lithuania, actively supported and nudged these crazies.
During Kiev maidan, Victoria Nuland and US ambassador Payet personally blackmailed Ukraine president Yanukovich and PM Azarov, threatening them with forced removal from power and personal harm, if the government tried to resist maidan violence and restore order. Similar pressure was put by the EU governments and politicians.
Under any normal circumstances and in any normal society such people would have been in jail, which would deter others. Instead, they were touted as heroes. The all-permissiveness always breads more violence.
The biggest criminals are those from the West who came to Ukraine with the expressed goal to generate violence, hatred and death.
Due to severe imbalance, which the world has experienced in the past 25 years since the collapse of the USSR, the weakened Russia was unable to fulfill her global balancing and stabilizing role. Large numbers of the world’s young people have succumbed to propaganda. This propaganda could be Western, emphasizing Russophobia. But it could be extremist Islamist just as well. It could also be fascist propaganda, stressing the resurgence of the popularity of Hitler and Nazi ideology of hatred and destruction. All these may have a different wrapper and flavor, but their essence is always the same: aggression, hatred, destruction and harm to others, while enriching yourself.
Putin for president and Azarov for PM of Ukraine
Since 2014, most Ukrainians lived in shock and fear. Some were zombified and confused. But the change is coming, the awakening is happening, slowly but surely.
In BLACK SEA GAMBIT I said that if a referendum to join Russia took place in Odessa today, 90% would have voted ‘YES.’ Very similar numbers would be true for the entire South and East. Even Kiev and sane parts of western Ukraine may surprise us.
Kiev just swapped the inept PM Yatsenyuk, who presided over the 2014-2015 destruction of Ukraine’s economy, for the equally inept PM Groysman, who is Poroshenko’s puppet. A poll conducted in Kiev showed that only 29% approved of Groysman as PM, while 58% wanted back Nikolay Azarov, who was PM under Yanukovich. Some now say that ‘Azarov was the best thing that happened to Ukraine in 25 years.’
An earlier poll conducted in Ukraine showed that 82% of Ukrainians wanted Putin as their president.
Renaming of streets, factories and cities – another maniacal epidemics sweeping Ukraine
As part of ‘decommunization,’ streets, factories and major enterprises are being renamed. The citizens are resisting it as much as they can. There are instances when the new name sounds suspiciously similar to the old one. Example: under pressure, a factory in Donetsk oblast (the part located on Ukraine side), was renamed from the ‘Illich Kombinat’ to… the ‘Illich Kombinat.’ Illich is Lenin’s patronymic and he was often called by this alternative name. ‘We renamed it after a worker of this factory, whose patronymic was also Illich,’ explained the locals.
They made an attempt to rename Odessa and call it ‘Kotsyubiyivsk’ (try not to break your tongue). Of course, if they succeeded, that alone would have caused Odessa to secede.
Wholesale destruction of Russian monuments
Under the guise of decommunization, ukro-nazis are destroying monuments to Russian scientists, writers, artists and also generals, who liberated Ukraine during WWII. In 2014, under the cover of the night, they removed the Odessa monument to General Chernyakhovsky, who commanded the army liberating Odessa. I bet Chernyakhovsky’s bust has already been sold to the highest bidder. Just like the ancient monuments of Syria, Ukrainian monuments, or their pieces, end up on the black market, often being sold to Western ‘collectors.’
Odessa, monument to Pushkin on Primorsky Boulevard
This greedy and senseless destruction of everything in sight is happening all over Ukraine. Recently, the famous monument to the 19th century writer Pushkin was under threat in Odessa. Ukro-nazis are continuously threatening to destroy the gorgeous monument to Katherine the Great, founder of Odessa. Obviously, aristocrat Pushkin and the Empress of Russia were ‘damn communists’ and had to be purged. Both monuments are a part of the UNESCO World Heritage site and were saved due to the widespread international indignation.
LADA’S GUIDE TO UKRAINE
End of 19th century English map of South Russia and Malorossia (Little Russia)
Ukraine was slapped together out of several parts, of which the majority was, and continues being, completely Russian-speaking, despite all the brainwashing. This was done by Lenin in 1922 for several reasons: geopolitical, internal political, psychological and ideological. I explain in detail what those reasons were in ESR2: UKRAINE and ESR3: OLIGARCH WARS.
While we all were a part of one big Soviet Union, no one was bothered by it that much. People were prepared to tolerate being a part of Ukraine even after the breakup, as long as they were able to easily commute to Russia for better jobs, sell their stuff to Russia, and be a part of the Russian culture through TV, books and concerts. But now they are unable to do any of that: Russian TV, journalists, artists, writers, cultural icons and political figures have been banned in Ukraine.
I believe I’ve mentioned this in Black Sea Gambit: Kiev is so afraid of the truth that they have banned me and my blog, FuturisTrendcast! Ukrainians can’t read my blog directly, but of course, there are many methods to bypass the ban in a roundabout way.
As soon as these bans began happening, this is when everyone suddenly began remembering that in fact they were never supposed to be a part of Ukraine, that Kiev usurped power and that they really wanted to go back to their roots.
Parts of Russia that became parts of Ukraine in 1922 and later:
Donbass (spelled out as the Donets Basin – RUS: Donetskiy Bassein) – presently Donetsk/DNR and Lugansk/LNR.
South Russia, basically consisting of the historic Tavria and Bessarabia. The Black Sea coast, including Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson. Pridnestrovie (breakaway Transnistria) and pars of Moldova are included. The famous Tavrian steppes stretch along Black Sea from Odessa to Kherson and into Crimea.
Crimea (aka, Tavrida) – now a part of Russia again.
True Russian territories, including the ancient Chernigov, Kharkov/ Slobozhanshina (the area which was part of the lands gifted by Empress to the South Russian Cossacks), Dnepropetrovsk and more – what is often referred to as ‘Eastern Ukraine.’ Dnepropetrovsk, located next to Zaporozhie, is also a part of the traditionally Cossack territory.
Original Zaporozhie Cossacks territories – presently the industrial city of Zaporozhie and Zaporozhie Oblast. I talk at length and explain everything about the amazing, colorful culture of the South Russian Cossacks in ESR6: NEW KHAZARIAN KHAGANATE.
Everything I listed above is historically referred to as Novorossia (New Russia), although of course Russians (Russo-Arian Slavs) lived on these lands for millennia.
Present capital Kiev and poor, agricultural center and north of today’s Ukraine 1000+ years ago were called Kievan Rus, and 300-100 years ago – Malorossia.
Today’s Western Ukraine is correctly called Galitskaya Rus and Podkarpatskaya Rus. These are the lands of the Galician and Carpathian Rusins (RUS: Rusini; incorrect English: Ruthenians). During medieval times there was a pretty large Galitskaya Rus state there, which was invaded at different times by Poland, Lithuania and Austria-Hungary, who eventually destroyed it.
How Putin/Lavrov Outplayed Merkel, Hollande, Obama
& Why Poroshenko Cannot Restart Donbass War
In the midst of today’s gruesome Ukrainian landscape, there is something that has, perhaps, a more positive tone.
Donetsk warns of imminent Kiev attack on DNR and LNR
Donbass braces itself for the new offensive by Kiev. Eduard Basurin from DNR ministry of defence and the head of DNR, Alexander Zakharchenko, continue to warn that Kiev is amassing troops and hardware in order to attack both republics.
However, as I said previously, I simply do not see how they may be able to pull it off (read my analysis in Poroshenko Prepares New War in Donbass? Why US, EU and OSCE are Blind and Deaf?
Additional analysis and predictions
The thing is that Poroshenko has to make certain noises to appease the radicals and ukro-nazis. But as far as real actions go, he really is tied up pretty tight. Besides, as we have determined previously, Ukraine is being slowly but surely ‘flushed down’ by the US and EU (as I predicted since 2014).
The Dutch referendum on Ukraine’s EU association sent a clear message. So did Biden’s advice to Kiev Rada to begin federalization process ASAP. So did yesterday’s French parliament’s vote to lift anti-Russian sanctions (French parliament votes to lift anti-Russian sanctions imposed by EU). And this is just the beginning!
But there is more:
The more information comes out about the atrocities and lies of the Kiev junta, the more EU citizens question the position of their governments. Europeans question more and more the propaganda that told them that Russia was bad, Kiev maidan was good and that EU did the right thing backing Kiev together with USA. The longer anti-Russian sanctions last, the more EU farmers, shippers and industrialists get impatient. Meanwhile some notice that while EU trade with Russia shrunk dangerously, US trade with Russia INCREASED! And that’s in the midst of sanctions! Slowly, US companies are taking over EU business with Russia.
More and more Europeans are realizing they were simply duped and the revolt is brewing.
Merkel, Hollande and other former advocates of anti-Russian sanctions now have no choice but to support Minsk-2 peace agreement at all cost, since the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions has been tied to its fulfillment. In a way, EU as a whole has cornered itself by imposing sanctions on Russia and tying them to Minsk-2 fulfillment.
Neither DNR/LNR nor Kiev are really planning to fulfill Minsk 2 in full. It is actually impossible to do so while this Kiev junta is in power. Poroshenko and his government can PRETEND to implement only certain points. The entire Minsk-2 in principle cannot be implemented until after the ukro-nazi Kiev junta is gone.
This signifies that:
1. What I said from the beginning of 2014: EU elites are inept and don’t understand at all what they are doing, which European citizens are finally beginning to grasp.
2. Merkel, Hollande and others will have to support Donbass truce at all cost. They are being watched by opposition and electorate. The alternative means they and/or their parties will lose the next election for sure. Recall my 2012 prediction about Hollande betraying the hopes of his electorate! As to Merkel, the recent 11% drop in her ratings will continue accelerating. All in all, her political career is finished. It’ll take time, but she’s on her way down.
3. EU supporting Poroshenko’s new offensive on DNR/LNR will give additional ammunition to eurosceptics and accelerate the breakup of the EU.
4. As I predicted in 2014, Putin and Lavrov were absolutely right not to antagonize Europe, continuing to patiently work with them throughout Ukraine crisis and despite their openly provocative, anti-Russian attitudes. This patience and lack of antagonism looks a little toothless to some. I had said that it was the only correct approach.
We’ve already been through this in 2008 with Georgia and several times during 2000s, when Ukraine shut off Russian gas to EU. They yell and scream, and stomp their feet. Then they calm down and recognize that Russia isn’t a monster and that, may be, just may be, they jumped the gun.
I know, I know. Putin, Lavrov, and Russia in general, are the only adults in the room and their patience is truly angelic. While Obama and US destabilize everything they get their hands on, Russian foreign policy is the only thing that keeps the world from plunging into a new global war.
VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Odessa’s cold spring 2016: city and oblast are bracing for blood and violence on May 2 and May 9!
This spring is especially hard for Odessa. After Crimea and DNR/LNR, Odessa is the biggest symbol of resistance against the Kiev junta. May 2, 2016 is the 2nd anniversary of the terrible tragedy, when 48, or likely more, people were burned alive on Kulikovo Polie. Kiev and ukro-nazis, together with Saakashvili, are determined to make a bloodbath out of the May 2 and May 9 in Odessa. Thousands and thousands of trained ukro-nazis from ‘azov’ battalion and western Ukraine have descended on Odessa. Provocations are expected everywhere. Tensions are the highest since 2014. Basically, people are gearing up for civil war and fear the repeat of May 2 massacre.
What is happening can be big and is also a harbinger of important changes in Ukraine and around the Russian World.
On Monday, May 2,
I’ll publish part 2 of the UKRAINE report: The ODESSA Report!
Read it in conjunction with my timely ESR8: BLACK SEA GAMBIT,
dedicated primarily to Odessa & Black Sea events and conspiracies!
Kherson Oblast is dying — and Crimean Agenda ESR
As I remember it growing up, Kherson once was a quiet sleepy hollow, complete with untouched, contemplative nature, robust agriculture and down to earth people.
Kherson is dying: it is experiencing a disastrous invasion of ukro-nazis and Islamists from ISIS, Turkey and Crimean Tatar Mejlis, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. The damage to the environment is terrible and the damage to the population is catastrophic.
Their ultimate goal is to squeeze out the native, Slavic population and replace it with Muslim transplants. It may sound crazy and bizarre, but it’s not so incredible if you look at the map and notice that Kherson Oblast borders Crimea to the south – the only land connection to the Crimean Peninsula.
Having lost Crimea, US, Turkey and Kiev have concocted a plan to destabilize it through Kherson. All this is a part of the bigger agenda to destabilize Russia by creating zones of instability all around Black and Caspian Seas. To those who plan all this, people’s lives don’t matter.
All this is the topic of the upcoming new Earth Shift Report
It’s an explosive and eye-opening Earth Shift Report, crucial for understanding the Russian and global geopolitical situation. However, due to urgent May events surrounding Odessa, Russia and EU, I’ll be postponing it till further notice. Since Crimean – Kherson situation is still in development, CRIMEAN AGENDA will come a little later. Please stay tuned!
The present focus is on hot EU developments!
New, surprise Earth Shift Report coming your way!
I received a lot of questions from readers regarding TTIP, Brexit, the possibility of the breakup of the EU, the Dutch, German and French revolts, etc. Therefore, I am preparing a surprise Earth Shift Report in which I’ll address all that, and more!
Formal announcement coming! Stay tuned!

Pro-US and Anti-Russian Japan: Eyewitness Overview and Predictions (Striking parallels between Japan and Poland)
ANALYSIS AND PREDICTIONS RE. JAPAN
Politically, I do not foresee any improvement between Russia and Japan at this time. Economically, there is a little bit of positive, mutually interested development.
The propaganda has very deeply penetrated Japanese society. The future of bilateral relations is murky and uncertain – that’s why Patricia is seeing a confusing picture: it is undecided and confusing; it’s one step forward, two steps sideways. Distrust by average Japanese towards Russia will continue, heated up by the US-supported MSM and political propaganda.
I have to say, average Russians also don’t feel so hot towards Japan. These are very old suspicions. Pity – there is so much both Russia and Japan could accomplish together and learn from each other! Attempts are being made by Russia, but all this goes nowhere. Russia and Japan still don’t have a signed peace treaty after WWII. Imagine that!
The way Japanese MSM and politicians present it, Russia is the biggest enemy, while it was actually their ‘official protector’ the US that dropped A-bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and still has bases on Japanese territory. In favor of creating the image of the arch-villain out of Russia they even forget their other eternal arch-enemy No. 1.5 – China. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad!
I am not advocating Japan becoming an enemy of the US – just the opposite. For Japan it’s crucial to make up with all neighbors, including Chinese, Vietnamese and Russians, while maintaining good relations with everyone else. The thing is, historically speaking Japan is considered the biggest bully and aggressor in Asia, where just about every country distrusts and has a grudge against them. This is why Japan doesn’t feel like an Eastern nation, preferring to side with the West. No one really accepts them in the East, and their own policies and uncompromising, arrogant attitudes towards neighbors only reinforce that alienation.
From this perspective, Japan is a perfect vibrational match to the USA. No wonder they are such good friends, despite all the latest frictions. Some of the friction is for show, while certain agreement on issues still exists. The rest is Japanese politicians playing off the populist nationalistic sentiment of their countrymen. Either way, Japanese politicians are hardly doing any favors for the long-term development of their country.
US will continue keeping Japan under tight control for at least another 5-7 years, or more (depends on economic interests and how soon Europe swings to Russian side). Russian – Japanese business will be developing a little, as it has, because it’s mutually beneficial. But nationalism will persist and authorities will continue playing anti-Russian and anti-Chinese cards to keep their power.
PM Abe is really inconsequential. It doesn’t matter who will come after him as they will act like twins. This is the time for ANY PM who is nationalistic; yells about returning the Kuril Islands (um… excuse me, ‘northern territories’) – which, by the way, will never happen; escalates military spending, while behind the scenes takes orders from bosses across the ocean, etc.
Kuril Islands and Sakhalin were Russian territories before the 20th century, and they became part of Japan after Russia lost Russo-Japanese war in 1904. As a result of WWII, Russia got the Kuril Islands and Sakhalin back as part of Japanese reparations after Japan lost on the side of Hitler.
It is important to understand one crucial thing about Japanese politicians. It is imperative for them to scream about Kuril Islands and Russia as aggressor in order to divert attention from the true problems inside the country. And these are: 1. the de-facto occupation by the US, complete with US naval bases; 2. Fukushima consequences; 3. economic situation and debt problem; 4. unresolved historic issues, including Hiroshima; 5. social dissatisfaction of a very closed-up society.
Of course Japanese MSM, like MSM almost everywhere in the world, is under the US thumb.
Former Japanese PM Hatoyama is known for his recent surprise visit to Crimea, which he accomplished despite the heat such visit drew in Japan. He is a surprisingly decent and brave guy for a Japanese politician, but he has no chance right now. Maybe in a few years. Being thought of as associated with Russia in any way (even though there is really no association) only hurts his chances of being heard. Pity, but this is the reality.
Still, what Hatoyama has done wasn’t only brave, but also was necessary to shutter the so-called “unified Western front” in relation to Crimea. Actually, his very courageous feat caused a European shift. Since then, a French parliamentary delegation has visited Crimea, and I believe a German Bundestag delegation is next.
Striking parallels between Japan and Poland you would never imagine existed!
In some ways, Japan as far as its political composition and views go, reminds me of Poland. But I think even in Poland there are more people who see the world situation with clearer eyes. This is because more Poles speak Russian and still remember the old days when Russia/USSR did absolutely everything to extend the hand of friendship to Poland, forgetting the old grudges.
You all know my view on this: perhaps the USSR and Russia have overdone the forgiveness thing. Not only the USSR liberated Poland in 1945 at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives, but Stalin also made sure Poland received a huge chunk of German territory after WWII, as part of German reparations. USSR also saw to it that Polish economy did well, investing resources and money USSR should have kept for its own after-the-war reconstruction and development.
Meanwhile before the war, Poland under its virtual dictator Pilsudski had been a pretty vicious aggressor. Using Hitler’s aggression as a distraction, Poland tried to bite off pieces of Czechoslovakia, Austria, and any country they could get their hands on. This was Polish attitude historically, including attempts to invade Russia to replace Russian tsars with usurpers. Not to mention that since 18-19th century Poland was consistently engaged in molding Malorussia, aka, Malorossia (known today as Ukraine) into anti-Russia.
The USSR, preferring to sweep the truth under the rug, caused Poland to feel they didn’t have to pay the price for past misdeeds, encouraging in turn more arrogance, playing victim, and bolder aggression, which we are observing today.
As we know, Japan did pay a dear price in the form of territories, lives and humiliation, for the WWII and pre-war aggression, as did Germany. In that, Japan and Poland are very different.
Poland and Japan are also very different in terms of culture.
Finally, Japan is a much more economically developed country, with infinitely larger economy, which once was the engine of global growth, and substantially higher standard of living than Poland. (But both countries are very similar in a sense of embracing the Western lifestyle and capitalist economic principles based on US ‘advice’ – Japan after WWII and Poland after the breakup of the USSR – and paying for their capitalist development by raking in insurmountable level of debt, which is now coming back to haunt them.)
Yet, both Poland and Japan, being so different in just about every sense, are:
- Thoroughly and willingly under the US thumb;
- Have a lot of historic distrust relative to ALL neighbors;
- This causes them to rely on alliance with the US against closest neighbors, US being the only country their selective memory forgives for any wrongdoing;
- Both countries have substantial territorial disputes with more than one neighbor;
- MSM/politicians in both are engaged in pretty vicious anti-Russian propaganda, while being supported by the US, and in fact, serving as US Trojan Horses in their respective regions;
- Additional very strong countries in their vicinity, which they regard with jealousy and extreme distrust: Germany for Poland and China for Japan;
- Both countries secretly dream about restoring their failed empires.
I can tell you with absolute confidence – this is a way to nowhere.
Economy will eventually cause both countries to reconsider and back off. But before that happens, both Japan and Poland – so easily manipulated due to their ulterior motives, such as nationalism and imperial ambitions – will cause a lot of trouble for Russia, Eurasia and for themselves.
My QUANTUM CALIBRATIONS will give you an additional layer of clarity!
Japan as a whole country presently calibrates at: 150 – anger; Chi: 180 – pride
Tokyo as a whole city calibrates at: 180 – pride; Chi 189 – pride.
Fukushima situation in reality calibrates at: 110 – fear; Chi 85 – grief — in other words, real disaster; although it’s better than a couple of years ago.
Real state of Japanese economy calibrates at: 95 – grief. See, THIS is the truth – this is what they are really trying to hide by yelling about Russia as enemy No. 1! Japanese economy isn’t doing so hot.
Real state of Japanese-Russian relations: 150 – anger
State of China-Japan relations: 85 – grief
Real state of Japanese-US relations: 198 – yearning/striving. Isn’t that interesting! What are they striving and yearning for? To be accepted by the US as equals? Or they are desperately trying to keep the front, while the deep-seated cracks start appearing?

Tomorrow is May 9th. HAPPY VICTORY DAY!
This post is part of the 70 YEARS OF THE GREAT VICTORY MARATHON
They say there was no family in the 250 million Soviet Union that didn’t experience a loss in the Great Patriotic War, usually referred to in the West as World War II. This is why the Great Victory celebrated on May 9th is called ‘a holiday with tears in our eyes.’
Leningrad, presently St. Petersburg, a city of unsurpassed beauty and treasures on the Neva River, was one of the hardest hit during that brutal war. It is one of the original four Hero Cities for the heroism and spirit displayed by its troops and citizens (later, more cities were given the Hero City title). The other three were Stalingrad, Moscow and Odessa. Each had a unique and devastating story to tell.
Among them, Leningrad stood out by the amount of tragedy, sacrifice and starvation inflicted on simple citizens through the inhumane blockade, which left the multi-million city without food for almost 900 days.
Odessa had a different story to tell. Due to the city’s location, its siege, perpetrated by Germany and Romania together, was punctuated with severe water shortage. Thirst, not hunger, was what killed people in southern steppes. During sieges of Stalingrad and Moscow the killers were bombs and bullets. But undeniably, the most devastating and tragic story of the entire WWII was the Siege and Blockade of Leningrad (Russian: блокада Ленинграда).
It is something Russians remember very well… even those of us who were born decades after, even those who had never been to Leningrad. It is imprinted in our collective psyche.
It is also something that unfortunately those who live in the US, Canada, EU, Poland or Germany probably could never understand. Perhaps that’s why they have such immature and cavalier attitude towards WWII, Russia’s role and sacrifice in it. Or perhaps they are simply afraid of the Russian spirit and ability to withstand such hardship for the idea. Perhaps, this is why they need to do anything they possibly can to diminish and malign the country that saved the world from fascism.
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia. I am usually very careful about quoting Wikipedia as much of its info is biased and inaccurate, to put it mildly. But this piece seems one of the few telling the truth. Link.
“The Siege of Leningrad, also known as the Leningrad Blockade (Russian: блокада Ленинграда, transliteration: blokada Leningrada) was a prolonged military operation undertaken by the German Army Group North against Leningrad—historically and currently known as Saint Petersburg—in the Eastern Front theatre ofWorld War II. The siege started on 8 September 1941, when the last road to the city was severed. Although the Soviets managed to open a narrow land corridor to the city on 18 January 1943, the siege was finally lifted on 27 January 1944, 872 days after it began. It was one of the longest and most destructive sieges in history and overwhelmingly the most costly in terms of casualties.
The capture of Leningrad was one of three strategic goals in the German Operation Barbarossa and the main target of Army Group North. The strategy was motivated by Leningrad‘s political status as the former capital of Russia and the symbolic capital of the Russian Revolution, its military importance as a main base of the Soviet Baltic Fleet and its industrial strength, housing numerous arms factories. By 1939 the city was responsible for 11% of all Soviet industrial output. It has been reported that Adolf Hitler was so confident of capturing Leningrad that he had the invitations to the victory celebrations to be held in the city’s Hotel Astoria already printed. Yet, although various theories have been forwarded about Nazi Germany‘s ultimate plans for Leningrad, including renaming the city Adolfsburg (as claimed by Soviet journalist Lev Bezymenski) and making it the capital of the new Ingermanland province of the Reich in Generalplan Ost, it is clear that Hitler’s intention was to utterly destroy the city and its population. According to a directive sent to Army Group North on 29 September, “After the defeat of Soviet Russia there can be no interest in the continued existence of this large urban center. […] Following the city’s encirclement, requests for surrender negotiations shall be denied, since the problem of relocating and feeding the population cannot and should not be solved by us. In this war for our very existence, we can have no interest in maintaining even a part of this very large urban population.” Hitler’s ultimate plan was to raze Leningrad to the ground and give areas north of the River Neva to the Finns.”
I visited Leningrad – St. Petersburg several times in my life. It truly is the most beautiful and impressive historic city in the world. I took the time to go to the Piskariovskoye Memorial Cemetery where the victims of the 872-day blockade found their final resting place. It’s a huge field filled with alleys, flowers, and rows and rows of granite stones listing the names of those buried underneath – 500,000 in total. The entire toll of the blockade was over 640,000.
The Piskariovskoye Cemetery museum has photographs, documents and diaries of those who perished. There was a girl’s diary that struck me most. The little girl named Tanya documented every day things like: “Auntie died today, my little brother died, mommy died.” Then her hand was getting less steady as more people around her passed. The final entry was, “Tanya all alone.” The girl Tanya was buried with others on that cemetery.
Immortal stories of the people’s spirit during the Leningrad Blockade
Leningrad is home to some of the most beautiful museums and architecture in the world, filled with treasured art, science and literature. When Germans advanced, workers of the museums and libraries tried to save their treasures, aided by locals and soldiers. A lot of priceless art from Leningrad museums was evacuated, some under severe shelling and German aviation bombings.
Leningrad is full of gorgeous bridges and statues. To attempt to save them from bombings, the starving, exhausted citizens would wrap the statues in anything protective they could find, often building protective shields around them. That way they saved for posterity many, many priceless works of art.

See my post for more great pics of the magnificent Leningrad treasures saved for posterity: Tsars, Oligarchs and Imperial Treasure: ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA.
The great Russian composer Dmitry Shostakovich survived the Leningrad Blockade and wrote some of his most striking music during that time. He refused to leave his city; during the blockade, Shostakovich along with other artists, would play for the starving people and troops. These radio concerts would be broadcast via loudspeakers placed all over the city, bringing hope and lifting the morale.
Shostakovich – Symphony No 7: The LENINGRAD SYMPHONY, 1941 (Gergiev). The symphony became a symbol of anti-fascist resistance.
One of the most famous Leningrad treasures was the Amber Room, once given to empress Katerina Velikaya (Catherine the Great) by Prussian king – a feat which, according to historic accounts, bankrupted him. The Amber Room was so unique and beautiful that it was called the Eighth Wonder of the World. The value of the Amber Room? Simply priceless. The gorgeous, but fragile, amber panels were mounted onto a room at the Catherine Palace in the town of Pushkino, on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. Additional panels and paintings were created by Russian artisans in order to complete the room. The empress could sit in it for hours, forgetting about time and space. Anyone who saw the Amber Room is purported to have been awed by its beauty and otherworldly energy.
During the 1941 German advancement, the workers of the Catherine Palace museum managed to wrap up and evacuate practically all of the treasures. But they were afraid to move the fragile Amber Room, fearing it could get damaged if they tried to dismantle the panels. Instead, the decision was made to camouflage it by painting something on top of the panels and building fake walls around it. They hoped Germans would overlook the Amber Room.
When Pushkino was taken their hopes evaporated. Germans arrived with blueprints and drawings. They brought specialists with them, ready to dismantle the treasure. They also arrived with transportation and packaging. They knew exactly where to find the Amber Room; in fact, taking the Amber Room was one of their major goals in Leningrad, orders coming directly from Hitler.
Some of you may know the story: the Amber Room was taken to Königsberg (now Kaliningrad) and stayed there until Soviet troops approached the city. Then it was loaded onto a ship, which may, or may not have, drowned. The Amber Room vanished to never be seen again. Its mystery remains unsolved.
Several years ago the Russian artists and scientists completed the painstaking duplication of the Amber Room, after many years of research and work. The Amber Room 2.0 is now open to the public.

How Vladimir Putin’s Family Survived the Siege and Blockade of Leningrad
Excerpts from Nemo’s own translation of the original story by
the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, published in Russian Pioneer 4/30/2015
Read the entire post: “Life is such a simple, yet cruel thing”
“Father worked at a military enterprise when the war started, being exempt from conscription. But he wrote an application to join the party, and then another application – that he wants to go to the front. He was dispatched to the subversive detachment of the NKVD. It was a small detachment. He said that there were 28 people in it, and they were deployed behind the enemy lines to carry out acts of sabotage, undermine bridges, railway tracks… But they were almost immediately ambushed. Someone betrayed them. They came to a village, and then went out, and when after a while they returned, the Nazis were already waiting for them there. They were chased through the woods, and father survived because he climbed into a swamp, and spent a few hours in that swamp, breathing through a reed. While sitting in the swamp and breathing through the reed, he heard how the German soldiers were passing nearby, just a few steps away from him, how the dogs were yapping…
It was the beginning of autumn, in other words – already cold… I also remember how he told me that the leader of their group was a German. A Soviet citizen, but a German.
And here’s what’s curious: a couple of years ago, the archives of the Defence Ministry handed me the case of this group. There is a copy of the case in my home, in Novo-Ogaryovo. A list of the group, names, patronymics and brief descriptions. Yes, 28 people. And at the head – a German. Everything as it was told by my father.
Of the 28 people, only 4 crossed the front line back to ours. 24 were killed.
They were re-assigned to the active army, and sent on to Nevsky Pyatachok. It was probably the hottest place during the whole of the Leningrad Blockade. Our troops held a small bridgehead. Four kilometres in width and some two kilometres in depth. It was supposed to be a springboard for the future breaking of the blockade. But it never got used for this purpose. They broke through the blockade elsewhere. Still the spot (Nevsky Pyatachok) was held, held for a long time, there was heavy fighting there. Very heavy. There are commanding heights above and all around it, it’s shot at throughout. The Germans were, of course, also aware that it’s there that a breakthrough may be attempted, and tried to simply erase the Nevsky Pyatachok off the face of the earth. There is data about how much metal there is in each square meter of the land. There’s still metal all over the place there.
Father explained how he was wounded there. The wound was heavy. All his life he lived with shrapnel in his leg: not all fragments could be taken out. The leg ached. Foot didn’t bend since then. The medics preferred not to touch the small fragments so as not to shatter the bone. And, thank God, the leg was saved. They could, after all, amputate it. He got a good doctor. He had the second group disablement. As a disabled veteran, he was eventually given an apartment. It was our first separate apartment. A small two-room apartment. (Translators remark: Before that the Putins lived in a communal apartment, where several families share the facilities, corridor and kitchen, and sleep in separate rooms.) However, before that we lived in the centre and now we had to move. True, not quite to the outskirts, but to a new-built area. And it happened, of course, not immediately after the war, but when I already worked in the KGB. I was not given an apartment then, but my father finally got his. It was a great happiness. And here’s how he was wounded. He, together with a comrade, did a little sortie into the rear of the Germans, crawling, crawling… And then it becomes both funny and sad at the same time: they got to a German bunker, and, father said, out of it comes a man, a huge guy, and looks at them… and they couldn’t get up while they were staring into the barrel of a gun. “The man – he says – looked at us very carefully, then he took out a grenade, then another, and threw those grenades at us. Well… ” Life is such a simple, yet cruel thing.
By chance, father’s neighbour from Peterhof was nearby. And that neighbour pulled him over without hesitation and managed to drag him to the hospital. The neighbour waited for him at the hospital, made sure that he was operated, and said, “All right, now you’re going to live, and I am off to die.”
My mother told me how she visited father at the hospital. They had a small child, a three-year-old. At that time there was blockade, hunger… My father would give her his hospital ration, secretly from doctors and nurses. She hid it, took it home and fed the child. When father began to faint from hunger in the hospital, doctors and nurses understood what was happening and didn’t allow her to visit any more.
And then the child was taken away from her. It was done, as she later explained, in a compulsory fashion in order to save small children from starvation. They were collected to the orphanages for further evacuation. Parents were not asked.
He fell ill there – my mother said that it was with diphtheria – and didn’t survive. They were not even told where he was buried. They have never learnt where. And then, last year, completely unfamiliar to me people worked on their own initiative through the archives and found documents about my brother. And that’s really my brother. Because I knew that they lived then, after fleeing from Peterhof from the advancing German troops, at their friends’ place – and I even knew the address. They lived, as we call it, on the Water Channel (Vodnyj Kanal). It would be better to call it a “Bypass channel” (Obvodnyj Kanal), but in Leningrad it’s called “Water Channel”. I know for sure that they had lived there. And not only the address, where he was taken from, coincided. Name, surname, patronymic, date of birth coincided as well. It was, of course, my brother. And there was stated the place of burial: Piskaryovskoye Cemetery. And even the specific area was given.
Parents were told nothing of this. Well, apparently, other things had higher priority back then.
So, everything that my parents told about the war was true. Not a single word was invented; not a single day was moved. About my brother, about the neighbour, about the German, commander of the group. Everything matches. And all this got later confirmed in an incredible way.
After her child was taken away, mother was left alone. When father was allowed to walk, he stood up on crutches and went home. And when he came to the house, he saw that the medics were carrying corpses out of the entrance. And he saw my mother. He came up, and it seemed to him that she was breathing. He told the medics: “She’s still alive!” – “She’ll pass away along the way – said the nurse. – She won’t survive.” He told that he pounced on them with crutches and forced them to lift her back into the apartment. They told him: “Well, we’ll do as you say, but know that we will not come here for another two or three or four weeks. You’ll have to sort it out yourself then.”
He nursed her back to life. She survived and lived until 1999. He died in late 1998.
After the lifting of the blockade, they moved to the homeland of their parents, in the Tver oblast, and lived there until the end of the war. Father’s family was quite large. He had, after all, six brothers, and five of them were killed in the war. This is a disaster for the family. And my mother’s relatives also died. I was a late child; she gave birth to me when she was 41.
There was not a family where someone didn’t die. So much grief, misfortune and tragedy… But they had no hatred for the enemy, that’s what’s amazing. To be honest, I still cannot fully understand this. My mother was a very gentle, kind person… She said, “Well, what kind of hatred can one have toward these soldiers? They are simple people and also died in the war.” It’s amazing. We were brought up on Soviet books, movies… and hatred. But she somehow did not have it in her. And I remember very well her words: “Well, what can you have against them? They are also hard workers, just like us. They were simply force-driven to the front.”
I never forgot those words.”
Lada’s 2 cents:
It’s a tragic and beautiful story. There is only one thing on which I would disagree with President Putin. Quote: “We were brought up on Soviet books, movies… and hatred. But she somehow did not have it in her.”
Yes, we were brought up on Soviet books and movies, but not on hatred. My family didn’t have any hatred towards Germans either, although they lost a lot – see post. Neither do I. In fact, I personally love German culture and as a student I had two close German friends. It was a common thing. There was no hatred then, and there isn’t any now.
But there is memory – memory which must be kept at all cost. When those old Soviet movies were made, they were created by those who either experienced war themselves or those who remembered it from direct participants. There are fewer and fewer such people left today. We must do everything to preserve the real truth about those events in order to avoid this kind of madness in the future. This is why attempts by some to re-write history cannot be tolerated.

(You can see all posts under category: 70 Years of Great Victory)
We are approaching the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory over German Nazism and associated invaders (also known in the Russian world as the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War), which will be celebrated in grand style on Moscow’s Red Square on May 9th, 2015. I thought it would be a terrific idea to do a few posts commemorating this date; in the future, I may do a separate piece presenting some of the most famous and amazing Russian songs and films. These reminders are especially important, considering how many out there are trying yet again to re-write history, something to which I don’t take kindly. I especially don’t appreciate the ungratefulness and arrogance of all those countries whom Russians and other peoples of the Soviet Union liberated in 1944-45 at the cost of 27 million lives, endless suffering, and destroyed country.
Sabotage by the leaders of US, UK, EU and associated countries of the celebrations in Moscow on May 9th; all manner of provocative statements by Poland, Ukraine and Baltics, together with their active re-animation of fascism – are beyond bad tone and beyond shameful.
And here is something else that should have been remembered, but was conveniently forgotten.
I noticed that some people in the West have a knee jerk reaction every time I mention anything to do with the USSR. What doesn’t occur to these people is that they have simply been pre-programmed by their propaganda machine to perceive anything to do with USSR or Russia as evil. The piece below will demonstrate how it was, and continues being, done.
Humans usually call those who submit too easily to someone’s will ‘lapdogs’ and ‘sheeple.’ Please, don’t insult the poor animals! Animals live in love and trust. Humans, on the other hand, submit out of apathy, hatred, fear, greed or other ulterior motive.
In addition, as you’ll see below, humans seem to have a goldfish memory. Let’s not insult the goldfish either – it should really be labeled ‘human memory’ since this is the only species that tends to conveniently forget. It is only humans who remember selectively when it suits them, developing sudden amnesia when it doesn’t.
Comrades Roosevelt and Gregory Peck:
When Hollywood Sent Its Scripts For Stalin’s Approval
Here is a remarkable list of films (in Russian and English) released by Hollywood during the period between 1942 and 1945:
“Дни Славы” – Days of Glory, 1944
“Миссия в Москву” – Mission To Moscow
“Северная Звезда” – The North Star (также известен под названием «Бронированная атака» aka, Armored Attack)
“Песня о России” – Song Of Russia, 1944
The story of these films is truly incredible and hard to imagine in view of today’s escalation of anti-Russian rhetoric and saber-rattling. After maligning the young Soviet Union for years since 1917, in 1941-42 Hollywood suddenly was charged with creating a positive PR campaign, in which Russia would be portrayed as a “nice country, with people just like Americans, who want to live in peace and who value their culture, music and art; who work hard and who also fight hard to defend their country.” All this was supposed to help “the war effort,” as expressed by the US President Franklin Roosevelt.
For this piece, I chose to talk about Days of Glory and Song of Russia.
Days of Glory was the debut of the Hollywood screen legend Gregory Peck (star of Roman Holiday, Cape Fear, Moby Dick; Best Actor Oscar for: To Kill the Mockingbird). In the movie, Comrade Peck plays the commander of the Soviet partisans (guerilla resistance) fighting against the Nazis. The video below presents several scenes from that film, along with the plot. The movie is pretty weak and full of clichés: partisans in the middle of a brutal war eat borscht from fine china and sit at a round dining table plucked from someone’s living room and placed in their spacious underground bunker; the man reprimanded for drinking responds with dismay that he is a stinking, dirty pig; the little girl addresses the ballerina, “You can’t cook, and you are a woman?” etc. The love story between Peck and the hungry ballerina, whose name is Nina and who just appears out of nowhere, is a little unrealistic as well.
But let’s just say… it’s the thought that counts. Despite all the weak links, the film conveys some very concrete ideas, such as: the Russian/Soviet partisans are good, humane people; they are the friends of the American people, who fight the fascists just like Americans do.
In the video below you can glean the movie scenes from Days of Glory in English between 1:10 – 6:33.
Song of Russia, a musical. In the video below, the movie scenes in English can be gleaned starting at 6:35.
Plot: a famous orchestra director John Meredith arrives to Moscow on a tour. He meets Russian girl, Nadya, and falls in love. When John takes his new Russian friend to a restaurant, he is in a state of cognitive dissonance (7:54). Strange, he says, everyone’s having such a good time. Is that wrong? asks she. No, except I thought Russians were sad, melancholy people sitting around, brooding about their souls. When conflicted Nadya flees from John to her native village, Tchaikovskoye, John follows her there. He again meets a lot of nice, joyful people who love to sing and dance. Nadya’s father talks tenderly to his tractor that leaks oil, “don’t cry ‘golubchik’ (darling), I’ll be back soon.”
At 9:25 – happy kolkhoz workers are singing, returning back from the fields. Oh, my! Watching this, I might mistake it for a Soviet movie circa 1933, glorifying Grandpa Stalin and the USSR! Just imagine this kind of Soviet ‘propaganda’ coming out of MGM!
In actuality, the song is pretty realistic, and Russians do like to sing and dance, including when working in the fields.
The main toast at John and Nadya’s Russian village wedding: “For the happiness of your great country, and for the happiness of our great country” – 11:10. In other words, friendship and global brotherhood, just like the USSR suggested to begin with!
See how easy it is to switch on and off a specific propaganda! Let’s follow this logical chain to its inevitable conclusion. In other words, if US/UK/EU propaganda didn’t work overtime to create and reinforce the image of Russia as a villain and enemy, today we all would have lived in peace and friendship!
But happiness doesn’t last – 11:22. Germany attacks Russia on June 22, 1941 and John’s manager tells him he should stop his tour and leave to the US. “Down at the consulate they say Germans will win this war in 6 weeks.” To which Nadya replies, “No, they will not win!”
The movie contains a totally incredible scene: Stalin’s real speech to the Soviet people (11:57). This famous speech began: “Comrades, Citizens, Brothers and Sisters, Soldiers and Sailors, I am addressing all of you, my friends. In this brutal war against the hateful forces of fascism we will have allies in the face of the peoples of Europe and USA.” For some strange reason, in the American translation Hollywood took out the words “brothers and sisters.”
Stalin is depicted here not as a brutal dictator, but as a world leader who manages to pull together allies and rise the morale not only in his country, but worldwide. It was noted by those who curated the film that Stalin’s calm and heartfelt speech was in stark contrast to Hitler’s hysterical screams, which made Americans feel uneasy. The conclusion was made that Americans would like Stalin’s manner. This is how Hollywood and US government were selling Stalin to the American people as a credible ally!!
When Nazis take over Tchaikovskoye, Nadya’s father and nephew are killed. John wants to join the partisans, but they charge him with going back to America together with Nadya in order to explain to the American people how hard the people of Russia have to fight. Nadya must tell Americans how her relatives and friends have died and that millions in Russia now fight for their land against fascism – 13:53. John and Nadya go back to the US, where they tell their story. Unbelievably, the entire movie is a 100% positive and sweet portrayal of Russia/USSR, perhaps a tad too sweet.
But what is especially remarkable in this whole story is what went on behind the scenes. The documents related to the creation of this and other such movies were declassified only recently.
American President Roosevelt named Lowell Mellet (15:09), a prominent journalist, to head the Office of War Information. He shaped the government PR and Hollywood propaganda during the war. Starting at 15:11, the video presents various correspondence between the Russian ambassador to the US Maxim Litvinov and the US side. It was understood that when Litvinov was asked to provide advice and vet the movie script, taking into account the severity of the war situation and the importance of the positive PR, he consulted the Kremlin and personally Stalin.
At 16:23: left to right – Soviet FM Molotov, Stalin (center), Litvinov (right).
The correspondence addresses the credibility of various scenes in the movie, including Russian names, places, what Russian trains look like, how the children are evacuated when Nazis come, how people should react to the air-raid sirens, etc. They did stop short of discussing the skirt length.
This fascinating text is in English and you can just read it in the video below. The Russian embassy replies start at 16:40.
18:10. Directions for the MGM script “Russia,” aka, “Song of Russia,” looked like this:
In the movie, we need to reiterate as often as possible that it was the Soviet Army who first destroyed the 10-year myth of the invincibility of the German Nazi army. The background should include the rich wheat fields of Ukraine, the modern city of Moscow, the DneproGes dam (LR: remember I mentioned DneproGes in Crazy Asylum Overload: Ukraine Bans Communism – Goodbye Chinese Investments as the impressive symbol of the Soviet communist industrialization!), a collective farm, a factory, Moscow Metro. All this should dispel the Americans’ impression of Russia as composed solely of bleak fields and backward villages, convincing them that Russians are solid and trustworthy allies!
There is more in the video. Check it out:
Let’s get this straight:
American and British propaganda worked hard to create a threatening and negative image of Russia in the form of the young USSR, after they first financed Lenin and the Bolshevik revolution. Then, when emergency knocked on the door in the form of the advancing Hitler armies (the monster who was also their handiwork), they began working equally hard to dispel what they had created! As soon as the war was over, MSM and Hollywood were back on track re-creating the image of Russia as USA’s worst enemy, organizing the Iron Curtain and Cold War in the process.
Next, in 1991-1998, when Yeltsin and Co. were conducting the wholesale sell-out of the country to the West, US media again worked hard to dispel the image of Russia as an enemy they carefully maintained in the previous 40 years. In the ’90s, I lived in the US and I remember the sudden and shocking turn to the positive propaganda. Yeltsin’s Russia was praised. Why not! It was, after all, the regime that surrendered to the West all the prized properties and achievements generations of Russians had worked hard to create. Meanwhile, the same propaganda machine conducted a bashing campaign against stubborn Serbia because someone still had to play the arch-enemy’s role while Russia was otherwise engaged.
In the ’90s I remember the talk, even among pro-Western and pro-oligarchy Russians, that Russia’s role was to be a ‘natural resources appendix to the West,’ sort of Nigeria of Eurasia. But Russia came back to her senses sooner than they expected. After Putin came to power, it became clear that the plan failed. At that point, with renewed vigor, they began re-establishing the image of Russia as the arch-enemy.
Ah, the schizophrenic American propaganda! But what is most amazing is how happily humans in the US and EU yo-yo wherever the wind blows.
As the old Soviet joke goes:
“Have you ever deviated from the party line?”
“Yes, together with the party.”
In conclusion, I want to mention that of all US presidents, the one I personally respect is FDR. It is suspected, and I have a good reason to believe it’s true, that Roosevelt was poisoned in 1945, to make room for Truman and his convenient russophobia. The change of wind happened after Hitler was no more and Russia turned out stronger, instead of weaker, as a result of WWII.
The master plan was that the USSR and Germany were supposed to destroy each other in the course of WWII, as explained by Churchill. Alas, that plan failed. Roosevelt was too amicable for plan B – destroying the USSR (far more than just containing USSR, as many have thought).
Referring to A-bomb, Truman announced after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, “Now we have the stick against the Russians.” Russia has recently de-classified documents confirming that after Hiroshima, USA was planning on destroying the top cities and military targets of Russia, including the capital cities of Moscow and Leningrad, Black Sea and Northern Fleets.
The delay was due to the fact that US simply used up its only two A-bombs in Japan. It took time to manufacture the new supply. Russians used this narrow window of opportunity to produce their own A-bomb, thus deterring the attack. When Americans learned about the Russian A-bomb, they had to go to plan “C,” commonly referred to as the Cold War and Iron Curtain.
Roosevelt was inconvenient because he dreamed of a peaceful ‘condominium’ between USA and Russia, according to Tarpley. And that was very dangerous for those whose life’s ambition was to execute the Full Spectrum Global Dominance doctrine they are still trying to realize today.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about Stalin, it has to be recognized that he was an even more formidable obstacle in their way. You could say he was the ultimate obstacle. As a consequence, he was poisoned in 1953. Stalin rejected the idea of the dollar as the only world-reserve currency. He also introduced the 100% gold-backed ruble, called Chervonets, used by the USSR for international settlements. After Stalin was eliminated, Khrushchev agreed to the dollar world-reserve currency status.
P.S. Incidentally, a few days ago, the Russian ‘dictator’ Putin announced a sweeping amnesty to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory. Every 6th person may be released from jail.
Compare that to the world’s biggest democracy: US jails are in fact a profitable business and the US prisoner population is by far the largest in the world. That’s not counting all those unarmed people US cops shoot almost daily all over the country.

For the past week, Western media and Social Media is all over the “news” purporting the pro-Russian Donetsk Republic in Eastern Ukraine has been circulating a letter to Jews mandating them to register. This item was pompously cited by the US Secretary of State John #Kerry in Geneva, where he tried very hard to prove to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov that Eastern Ukraine protestors were in fact “nazis.” Read the rest of this entry
