Dear women (and men too),
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!
MAY ALL YOUR SACRED DREAMS AND WISHES COME TRUE!
This holiday in Russia is often also called the Day of Spring, Love and Beauty. On this day women expect to be pampered. According to the survey, this year up to 10% of the spoiled Russian women expect to get a car for March 8. 😉
I find that many people in the West simply don’t get the meaning of this holiday.
HERE’s the real truth! The holiday did start in the beginning of the 20th century as a women’s rights and anti-war political movement. However, in the USSR it eventually evolved as a day of spring, flowers, relaxation and the honoring of the sacred feminine by men (at the bottom click on links to my previous posts to find out more and to see more cool images). And that’s how it’s now largely celebrated in Russia, all of post-Soviet Space and the world.
Vintage Soviet March 8 Posters:
‘March 8, International Women’s Day’
The important thing Westerners often don’t get is that Russian women get to be honored, treated with the respect, love and tenderness all women and mothers deserve, while at the same time they get to pursue careers and success in life equal to men. There is no BS ‘equality’ fights in Russia. Equality stays where it belongs: in the career and business world. But at the same time a man would still open a door or pull a chair for a woman. If you can imagine (I know it’s very hard if you live in the USA), a woman in that case would graciously say thank you, and she would NOT punch a man in the face or file a sexual harassment lawsuit! A woman would NOT perceive the man’s gallant gesture as a sign of her being considered weak, but she would accept this as a sign of her being honored and respected.
Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a positive world like this everywhere!
March 8 in Russia usually inspires poetry. Lots of businesses and organizations put out special ‘Happy March 8’ posters, often with poetic good wishes for their female employees and/or friends and family. And it all rhymes!
This one reads:
‘Our Lovely Women, let your spring be forever, let the brooks run, let all the world’s flowers blossom just for you. Let the last snow wind take away any troubles, let the snow melting bring only happiness. May your sacred dreams and wishes come true! HAPPY MARCH 8!’
This poster’s poem similarly wishes the end of any sorrows, and lots of love, joy, smiles and flowers. I am smiling just writing this 🙂
There are free concerts on streets and special concerts on TV, as well as major holiday programs in music halls on this day. Generally, Russians loooove their songs, concerts, and various fairs and events. When I was searching for images for this post I came across a large number of announcements for March 8 concerts in the ex-republics, such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Latvia. It remains the holiday of choice in all those, despite attempts by the Latvian and Ukrainian authorities to ban it.
Russian children get it since they are little. Cutest Russian March 8 cartoon posters:
‘March 8 – Congrats!’ – probably the most beloved Russian cartoon character, the sweet mystical animal Cheburashka, brings flowers and cake to the little squirrel girl.
Little bear boy brings a barrel of honey to his girlfriend.
And the cute March cats, of course 😉
March 8 is one of the coolest and most positive holidays, with lots of flowers and smiles. Tulips, mimosa, lily-of-the-valley, violets and lilac are the trademark flowers of this holiday. Men normally take over all the chores for the house, including cooking and cleaning, while women enjoy themselves. On this day husbands, boyfriends, fathers, sons, brothers and students honor their wives, girlfriends, sisters, daughters, mothers, grandmothers and female teachers. This is how I remember it growing up.
The cake reads ‘Happy March 8’; the boy’s tee says, ‘Love my mom’; the man’s, ‘My wife’s the best.’
March 8 is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a national holiday in Russia and some other post-Soviet/Russian World countries. It’s also widely celebrated in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
If you celebrate, here’s another well-wishing March 8 poem! ‘May your life always blossom, may your children be happy and your home prosperous! Wishing you goodness, fortune & happiness!
If you live in a country where March 8 is not celebrated (that would be the Anglo-American world and a few others)…
Dear women, go pamper yourselves this weekend, celebrate YOU and the spring! Or get the men in your life to splurge on you!
Dear men, it’s a great idea to take the loved female(s) in your life out to a nice dinner this weekend, and/or buy her some nice flowers! If she asks what’s the occasion, you can say: ‘Spring is in the air!’ Or you can just tell the truth: ‘Lada says so,’ and show her this article! 😉

Lada’s Message of Peace and Love
In the past several weeks we have seen an unheard of escalation of tensions and animosity by the West against Russia the Great Balancer. This situation has been building up for months and years, and I have written and spoken about it regularly since 2012-14.
This escalation is due to the fact that the old NWO and Western globalism are losing, and they are scared, very scared. The Dark State (deep state) has been and will continue using all methods available to vilify, attack and lie.
I regularly have to bring to light these unscrupulous methods, revealing the truth, and oftentimes it’s not pretty. Many of you know that I would highly prefer to talk only about positive things. But someone has to do it. It is so easy to implant an idea in a susceptible human mind, turning people against each other. If no one brings all this to light, the truth will die and alternate reality will take hold; humans yet again will forget their true origins, embroiling themselves in a new matrix of lies and darkness.
The truth-illumination is such an ungrateful, and oftentimes dangerous job, but it has to be done. Oftentimes I want to stop and talk only about what I truly enjoy. I have my own forward looking ideas to develop and promote, and as you know, I have plenty of those. Yet the truth still needs to be told, however harsh and unpleasant it may sometimes appear.
But today I wanted to talk about something else: the fact that we cannot afford this continuing escalation of animosity.
And I want to go further. I want to send you all the message of peace and love.
I feel sorry for those crazies in power in the West (you all know their names) who continue building up the frenzy of hatred, and who think they are invulnerable. The truth is just the opposite. They are the most scared and lowly calibrated humans out there.
They live in constant fear and confusion, and because of that they sacrifice their souls to the dark agenda. I feel much compassion for these poor, unfortunate souls. They may have an outward appearance of having power and fortune. But deep down, their souls are ailing and dying.
Dear friends, let’s not be like them. Let’s never sacrifice your beautiful souls to anger, violence, negativity and hatred. Yes, we have to expose what they are doing and why. Yes, we have to shine the light on their crimes. But never become like them.
If the negativity of the world around becomes overwhelming, step back, listen to some highly calibrated classic or spiritual music, such as those we are posting in Spiritual Spa. Spend some time in beautiful nature, with dear friends, or meditate in solitude.
Come to my PATREON site, where you can always find something positive, inspiring and highly calibrated to read or listen to. Visit LadaRay.com, where you can read up on my inspiring breakthrough theories.
More than anything in the world, my heart’s desire for you is Peace, Love and Joy.

Blessings to All!

- Ukraine Events Heating up and Accelerating
- Beautiful Russian-Soviet Song Flash Mobs Unite Russians and Ukrainians Against Kiev Junta Hatred
In Beautiful Russian-Soviet Song Flash Mobs, I showed you how people in Zaporozhie, Kharkov, Odessa and Moscow countered the vicious hatred emanating from Kiev junta, and how they said no to repressions against Russian language in Ukraine.
The new additional data coming in on the repressions against Russian language: Kiev Rada will be voting on the new law, which is supposed to limit Russian language programming on TV and radio to 5%. Already, most Russian films, all Russian-languge TV/radio stations and publications are banned in Ukraine, except the openly anti-Putin and anti-Russian ones.
There is another radical ukro-nazi proposal awaiting a vote in the Rada. It calls for the Russian speakers who always resided in Ukraine to be denied citizenship and the right to education. Ukraine is following in the footsteps of Latvia and Estonia, the euro-fascist members of the EU, where millions of Russian-speakers are denied citizenship and given a label of ‘non-citizens.’ Who needs Hitler…
This last one was proposed by an infamous deputy from Western Ukraine, Irina Farion, who during Soviet times used to be a member of the Communist Party, but when it became profitable, she promptly switched to the ukro-nazi side of the most vicious kind. She reminds me of the Lithuanian ‘president’ installed by the US, Dalia Gribauskayte, also once a Communist Party member and daughter of a KGB (NKVD) officer, who turned the moment US/EU promised her those proverbial 30 pieces of silver.
Another law being passed mandates that no signs in Russian language can appear in airports and train stations, despite the fact that 70% of Ukraine prefers to speak Russian. The mandated languages for public announcements and signs in Ukraine airports and train stations will be Ukrainian and English.
There are many more acts of repression towards Russian language and culture in Ukraine.
After all this, is it any wonder that normal people are leaving Ukraine by millions? The problem with that is: if everyone normal leaves, who will be left? Only imbeciles, sheeple and low-lives? This, unfortunately, is a very worrying ongoing trend in Ukraine. For more read: Mass Migration: What Happens if a Country Gains or Loses its Life Force? (US, EU, Russia, China, Ukraine).
Many leave, but some choose to stay and hold the fort, no matter how hard it is, until a meaningful change can occur.
To say NO to all the repressions, the new Flash mob “The Russian World” was born in Zaporozhye, Eastern Ukraine. The industrial city of Zaporozhye, located on the banks of the River Dnepr, next to Donbass and not far from Donetsk, was the seat of the Soviet 1930s industrialization. Read more about it in the articles linked at the bottom.
After the Russian-Soviet song flash mobs in Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Odessa and Moscow, Dnepropetrovsk has joined in. Dnepropetrovsk is a large city and an oblast located between Zaporozhye and Donetsk oblasts in Eastern Ukraine.
The Dnepropetrovsk Train Station flash mob sang the famous Russian song Katyusha. Here’s the first amateur video of the Katyusha flash mob:
Better quality full version of the Dnepropetrovsk Katyusha flash mob has posted on YT:
You can find some original versions of Katyusha in Legendary Soviet Music Hits.

Since 2014 Kiev junta banned Russian language during school classes. Now every teacher is mandated to speak only Ukrainian in class, and so are students. In 2014 and 2015 the historic symbolism uniting Russia and Ukraine was banned. Many historic monuments were destroyed throughout Ukraine as well. Ukro-nazi thugs from the ‘right sector’ Svoboda and various nazi battalions brutally beat up and even killed those who tried to resist. Among things banned in Ukraine have been the Victory Banner (symbol of the WWII Victory), names of cities and streets. They succeeded in renaming one of the largest cities in Ukraine from Dnepropetrovsk to Dnepr. They tried to rename Odessa to Kotsyubeevsk (if you can believe it), but met with staunch resistance from Odessans, which made them back off.
The newest thing the Kiev junta is doing is banning Russian language during school breaks. Teachers caught speaking Russian will be fired.
In the atmosphere of the oppression, the people are finding ways to resist in a beautiful and inspiring way, by performing Russian-Soviet songs at train stations.
It began on November 13 in Zaporozhye, the large industrial city in Eastern Ukraine, located next to Donbass. The city of Zaporozhye is located in the very center of the ancestral Zaporozhskie Cossack territories. Zaporozhye means basically ‘beyond the white waters.’ It is located on the banks of the river Dnepr and it is the white waters of the river that gave it its name. The city was founded by the Russian tsars; in 1930s it became the center of the Soviet industrialization. It is the sight of the famous symbol of the Soviet industrialization DneproGes (Dnepr Hydroelectric Station). It is also the home to the metallurgical giant Zaporozhstal’ (Zaporozhye Metal Plant). Europe’s largest nuclear power plant is also built here. I again want to stress that everything that has been built in Zaporozhye was built by either the Russian Empire or the USSR. During its 25 years of ‘independence’ Ukraine built nothing of significance. On the contrary, much was ruined and stolen. More here: Insane Asylum Overload: Ukraine Bans Communism – Goodbye Chinese Investments.
The first flash mob at the Zaporozhye Train Station sang the song from the hit Soviet film, The Spring on River Street, 1956. The Spring on River Street is a romantic comedy about a worker from Zaporozhstal’ and a young teacher, fresh out of college. The song is called, My Native Street. This song is sort of unofficial anthem of Zaporozhye.
I have to say that after I heard this flash mob several days ago I can’t stop humming this song, which I’ve always loved.

And this is the original from 1956, with the clip from the film The Spring on River Street. Улица родная – Весна на Заречной улице. You can find this film and this song featured on my RUSSIAN FILMS page. Incidentally, the film was made by the Odessa Movie Studio.
**SORRY IF ANY OF THE VIDEOS AREN’T SHOWING! THIS MEANS YOUTUBE REMOVED THEM FOR SOME REASON. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THAT! ENJOY WHAT YOU CAN WHEN YOU CAN!
Kharkov, the 2nd largest city in Ukraine and the former capital, was next. At the Kharkov Train Station the flash mob performed another hit from the same era, The Old Maple, from film Devchata (Girls), a romantic comedy by Mosfilm (Moscow Film Studio).
This is the original with the clip from Devchata:
Odessa Train Station flash mob was the largest and it performed the hit Russian-Soviet song Smuglyanka (Darkie, the Moldavian Girl) from the famous 1973 film Only Old Men Go into Battle. I believe this masterpiece of a film was made at the Kiev Movie Studio. It was during Soviet times, of course, before Kiev sold out and destroyed everything previous generations stood for. It is action/drama about the multi-ethnic unit of the Soviet pilots during WWII, who loved to sing. This film is also featured on my RUSSIAN FILMS page.
The choice of a song was good for Odessa, a very international city, as well as it being a close neighbor to Moldova. It also was a gutsy choice, since Soviet symbolism, including Russian WWII symbols, is banned in Ukraine.
This is the original Smuglyanka by the Red Army Choir
In response, Russians organized their own flash mob in Moscow, at the Kiev Train Station. Yep, there is a train station in Moscow that is called ‘Kiev Train Station’ where trains from Kiev terminate. It was always there, and it doesn’t occur to anyone to rename that station, unlike the war on everything Russian in Ukraine. In reality the most popular train in Ukraine is Lvov-Kiev-Moscow, despite all the bans of the Kiev junta.
The song at the Kiev Train Station is called Rozpriagaite Hloptsi Koney (Boys, Unsaddle Your Horses). It is a Cossack song, sung in Ukrainian, or more precisely, southern Russian dialect. My mom loved that song.
In the end of the clip the lead of the group Yarilov Znoy (Ra’s Heat) says that they organized the flash mob to show that, despite all the hateful rhetoric, Russians and Ukrainians are one people, sharing one history.

I think it’s very inspirational and uplifting to watch such videos as they tend to restore our tarnished faith in humanity and give us hope.
As a cat and animal lover, I almost had a heart attack watching the beginning. Security cams in the western Russian enclave of Kaliningrad recorded a video of a little kitten that somehow fell out of a passing vehicle. Then we see cars and trucks passing at high speed, trying to give kitten a wide enough berth so not to hurt him. It was indeed a miracle he has survived. Finally, one driver stops and takes the kitten into his car.

Reblogged from Lada Ray Blog:
There are lots of beautiful holidays in the world. March 8 is one of my personal favorites. To me it’s associated with spring, smiles, and the intoxicating fragrance of tulips, delicate bells of the lily of the valley and sweetness of the mimosa flowers.
On March 8 the world celebrates the International Women’s Day. This holiday started over 100 years ago in Russia as a celebration of women’s rights and anti-war movement. Years later it became popular the world over as a holiday for women of all ages, when mothers, wives and daughters can kick back and allow themselves to be treated as pampered goddesses, letting men do the chores, bring them flowers, lavish them with massages and tickets to sold-out shows.
Find out how this holiday is celebrated in Russia and beyond from my eternally popular piece on Lada Ray Blog, combining history, reflections, memories and rare images: March 8, Happy International Women’s Day! (Note, as the International Women’s Day has been maligned and misinterpreted terribly in the US and some other Western countries, I highly recommend you read the above piece. It will put lots of things in perspective. Also read comments, in which people from various countries relay their experiences.)
To me, March 8 is the contemporary way of honoring the sacred feminine. But first and foremost, this is the holiday of the awakening of spring and the celebration of beauty and peace.
I don’t know about you, but on March 8, my house will be full of my favorite tulips, despite the dreary cold and snow piles outside. Too bad lily of the valley isn’t available in North America. But who is to say we can’t have a virtual March 8 celebration right here, on my blog!
I am wishing you lots of joy and flowers, love and beauty, and happy smiles this spring and always.
More than anything, I wish you PEACE. I wish you inner peace and strength to be yourself in all that life presents to you. Shine your light, love and understanding – today, the world needs it more than ever.
I also wish peace to your home, especially, if you live in an area stricken by a gruesome war.
Dear women, please enjoy all the flowers in the world!

ProjectEarthShift 2: Universal Scale of Consciousness (life-affirming/ life-creating calibrations 200-1000)
Quantum Scale of Consciousness
(life-affirming, life-enhancing and life-creating calibrations)
Part 2 of the Quantum Scale of Consciousness
Today we will talk about the truly exciting, life-enhancing and life-creating calibrations of human consciousness. My Universal Consciousness Scale is based on the scale proposed by Dr. David Hawkins in his groundbreaking bestseller Power vs. Force. In his work, Dr. Hawkins used kinesiology test to answer simply ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and to calibrate the ‘truth’ and ‘falsehood’ of a subject or question.
I have taken this amazing system substantially further. I’ve reworked the old and added new calibration levels; also, I have modified and expanded the logic and usage of the calibration methods. When I calibrate, I first of all determine the core vibration and the chi level of a subject or object. I can also go well beyond that, as will be discussed in the upcoming Part 3: What is Chi Kinesiology.
As you watch my videos, all this will become clear to you. The incredible usefulness of these methods and this kind of knowledge should also become self-explanatory. In addition to voice explanations, the videos are accompanied by written clarifications; they include beautiful imagery, with people, animals and nature, famous quotes and other enhancements designed to facilitate comprehension. Lots of hands-on examples of calibrations are included.
This is Part 2 of the series. Part 3: What is Chi Kinesiology is to follow. Please make sure you watch this part together with Part 1 for a full picture. (Part 1 video is here; My original post about Part 1 is here.)
Here are the life-affirming calibrations we will discuss in this segment. I bolded the additions and modifications I’ve made to the original scale:
NAME – CALIBRATION VALUE
LEVELS of REASON – 200-499
Courage – 200
Neutrality – 250
Willingness/friendship/cooperation – 310
Acceptance – 350
Reason – 400
Humanity/compassion – 480
LEVELS of MASTERY & MAGIC – 500-1000
Love – 500
Joy – 540
Creation – 580
Peace – 600
Enlightenment – starts at 700 to 1000

This is a revolutionary and very important work. I am counting on your support!

You can also read my report on FuturisTrendcast: Earth Shift Special Report: Is Putin Part of NWO?
Further, many thanks to the SOTT editor, Zoya, for sending me the link to this new international open letter to Putin. I am being told that SOTT contributed to this letter.
Dear President Putin and Russian People,
Please accept our apologies for the behavior of our Governments and Media. Western Nations, led by the United States, seem determined to start a war with Russia. A sane person would recognize the terrible consequences of such a war and would do everything in their power to avoid it. In fact it appears that this is exactly what you are doing. In the face of an endless stream of lies and provocations you have managed to keep Russia from being drawn into a nuclear war.1, 2
Events surrounding the war in Ukraine are twisted to represent you as an aggressor when the facts clearly show otherwise. Neo-Nazi gangs commit atrocities against the citizens of Novorussia on a daily basis and they receive political and financial support from Western governments. The Ukrainian army has attacked Russian checkpoints and towns and regularly bombs refugees attempting to flee the country. Russia was blamed for the destruction of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, even though the evidence suggests that the flight was shot down by the Ukrainian army. You offer humanitarian aid to the people of Luhansk and you are accused of smuggling weapons into Ukraine.3
Why are you the target of these lies and provocations? The pathological criminals of the West are pushing for war with Russia because they need an external enemy. As long as the people are focused on “Russian aggression” they remain unaware of those truly responsible for the decline of the American economy and social system. In Europe, with its history of brutal wars sparked by arrogance and greed, European leaders have undergone a complete moral collapse and have naively fallen into line behind the USA’s policy of imperial aggression. The last great president of the United States, John F Kennedy, described our common enemy in 1961:
We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day.
It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations… Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.4
Since that time the government of the United States and other Western nations have been infiltrated by this “ruthless conspiracy”. While it is not necessarily unified we believe that its leaders think and act without the burden of a normal human conscience. This is why they are willing to sacrifice the lives of millions or billions of people. They supply Israel with weapons that are used for the wholesale slaughter of thousands of Palestinians. They militarize police in places like Ferguson, MO to protect and strengthen their power over the people. They lie to start wars that take the lives of millions of people to increase their political power. They are despicable.5, 6
Like JFK, you have a military background, so you are bound by a sense of duty to protect and serve the people of Russia. It appears that like him you recognized the madness of nuclear war and have turned towards peace.7 You refuse to endorse the American empire and you are working to undermine its power without engaging in direct military conflict. Instead Russia has developed closer relationships with many countries through organizations like BRICS, has forgiven old debts and worked with its partners to meet goals that serve the interests of the people. The idea of international partnerships has been called a multipolar approach and it contrasts sharply with the unipolar, imperialist policies of the US where all countries’ resources are controlled to benefit a powerful few–and at the expense of We the People.
We reject the greed, hatred and lust for power displayed by our “leaders”. We are outraged and horrified by the killing of millions of innocent people in the name of freedom and self defense. We want peace and justice for all people. We want a real and lasting peace, the kind of peace that JFK once spoke of:
What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children–not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women–not merely peace in our time but peace for all time.8
True peace and justice are impossible as long as the “ruthless conspiracy” rules the United States and other nations from the shadows. We pray that through our mutual efforts we may defeat the power-hungry and ruthless criminals who seek to enslave us all. We pray that we may instead foster a genuine peace that makes life on Earth worth living.

That’s it! I am sick and tired of all the negativity, confusion and fighting going on between people and countries in this world! I declare a CHI-RAISING POSITIVITY DAY!
This is the post that will remind those who have forgotten, and open the eyes for those who have never heard it before. Simply put, below are some Soviet songs that are beautiful and famous in their own right, performed by some of the best voices you’ll ever hear. But there is something else about these songs that catches the eye: by their very existence they UNITE people, cultures and countries. The unique culture I am proud to have been born into had succeeded in performing a miracle no one else had been able to accomplish. At least for a short while we managed to unite different cultures in friendship and cooperation, instead of hatred and war! And that, in my book, IS the highest accomplishment this entire human civilization was ever able to achieve!
Since the Russian realm is such a UNIFYING force in the world, this is exactly why the West/NWO is itching to destroy it. Don’t believe me? Read and listen below – and judge for yourself! Perhaps those of my readers who are non-English speakers will easily recognize these gems from their childhood. The reason I am also confident my many English-speaking readers won’t know the songs below is because there always was a full-scale blockade of the Russian culture in the West, also referred to as the Iron Curtain. The reason the Iron Curtain was necessary was because the Russian ideas of friendship and cooperation were always too popular for the liking of the West. If such ideas took hold and people all over the world suddenly stopped fighting, how would they divide and conquer?
Warning, this is NOT American pop – this is live, positive, highly calibrated singing! Note: designation “Song of the Year” was given in the Soviet Union to the best songs written that specific year in the entire Soviet space.
In the Soviet Union, the ugly civil war based on pathological hatred taking place today in Ukraine, or in Nagorny Kharabakh (between Azerbaijan and Armenia), or such as was the 2008 war between South Ossetia/Georgia, or the frozen conflict between Moldova and Pridnestrovie, would have never happened. And if someone tells you that Russians oppressed other nationalities in the USSR, don’t believe such complete and total BS. I was there. It was, in fact, the other way around – Russians promoted every possible and impossible national minority, well before it became politically correct to do so in the US and EU. Sometimes, Russians did it to their own disadvantage.
But don’t believe me – just listen to the songs and watch videos below. Once you do, everything will become ‘crystal clear,’ as they say in Russia.
MEGA PARADE OF POSITIVE RUSSIAN SONGS THAT HAVE THE POWER TO UNITE!
Our Parents’ Home (the beginning of all beginnings) – ‘Родительский дом, начало начал.’ This is one of the lyrical gems from the 1970s. Performed by the famed buttery voice of the Soviet/Russian stage, Lev Leshchenko, who’s, as his last name indicates, is of Ukrainian heritage.

The Best City on Earth (a song about Moscow – video with rare footage of the 1980s Moscow). Again by Azerbaijani singer Muslim Magomaev. Муслим Магомаев – Лучший город Земли
All the above songs, and some below as well, had been written by prolific Russian composer Alexandra Pakhmutova, lyrics by Russian poet Nikolay Dobronravov.
Belovezhskaya Pushcha – Song of the Year 1975 ( beautiful song about Bleovezhskaya Pushcha, or Forest – a massive nature preserve in Belarus which is famous for its unique flora and fauna and is a World Heritage site) – Performed by Belorussian band Pesnyari, famous for their high pitch, flowing voices. When I was little, the entire Soviet Union sang this song from the tiny republic of Belarus.

Music by Armenian composer born in Georgia, Mikael Tariverdiev. Original poetry by Russian poet, Anna Akhmatova.
Link to YT video (I just discovered that Mosfilm, who owns the rights, regretfully doesn’t allow the re-blogging of videos. I feel this is awfully shortsighted as all I am doing is promoting their work and the Russian culture. Too bad).
Somewhere Far Away – 1970s. Где-то далеко: Штирлиц встреча с женой. Song from the amazing series about the Russian spy in nazi Germany, 17 Moments of Spring (17 мгновений весны). Starring AMAZING Russian/Soviet actor Viacheslav Tikhonov. Written by Armenian composer born in Georgia, Mikael Tariverdiev. Song performed by Jewish/Soviet singer Iosif Kobzon.
(Also just discovered! Same goes for ‘Quiz group pro’ that appears to own the rights to this video, although I have no idea who they are. They also don’t allow blog reposting. I strongly feel these movies are the heritage of all Russian people, not of some obscure group set up in the restrictive Western way. By denying the fair use/non-profit re-posting, they don’t help anyone. I feel this is terribly shortsighted as all I am doing is promoting their work and the Russian culture). Link to YT video, if anyone’s interested.
In the future, I will have no choice other than to delete videos that have become restricted, as I have no time to repost links. This is a vivid illustration of how Russian showbiz has become way too westernized for their own good, and the good of the world. By such shortsightedness they are hurting no one but themselves. A vivid confirmation of everything I’ve been saying in my articles.
The world-famous Farewell of Slavianka (“Прощание Славянки”) subtitles in Russian/English. Wartime song, contemporary performance, 2010, by Armenian singer Zara and Russian actor Dmitry Pevtsov.

Darkey, the Moldavian Girl, or simply, Darkey. Famous song from movie Only Old Men Are Going to Battle. The movie is about a unit of military pilots during the Great War, who like to sing. The unit is very international, and its members are Russian, Georgian, Armenian, Ukrainian , Kazakh, etc.
Stadium of Our Dreams (Stadion Moei Mechti) – Very worth watching! The music that unites the world – rare footage of the Opening Ceremony of the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Performed by Azerbaizhani singer Muslim Magomayev. During the ceremony, the giant flags of all 15 Soviet republics were carried in by groups of ethnic girls dressed in respective national costumes. Check out the symbolism! Also watch the parade of the Soviet Olympic winners! USSR only started participating in the Olympics in 1952. Watch how many winners and how many medals they already had by 1980! USSR usually swept the entire Olympics, both Summer and Winter!
Do you think that MAYBE the West was jealous? Do you think that MAYBE they were afraid, and that MAYBE they wanted to weaken the Soviet Union?
Farewell, Gentle Misha – So worth watching! The legendary 1980 Moscow Olympics closing ceremony song. With rare footage of the giant mascot, Misha the Bear, shedding a tear and flying into the sky. Beautiful song with Lev Leshchenko.
And this is an episode from the amazing 2014 Sochi Olympics closing ceremony. The grandson of the 1980 Mishka and his friends, Zaika the Hare and Snow Leopard, are closing the Games. Watch Mishka blow out the flame and again shed a tear. Beautiful music score by Russian composer Eduard Artemiev, 1974 – from film: Svoi Sredi Chuzhikh, Chuzhoi Sredi Svoikh – At Home Among Strangers.
For desert, I thought it would be nice to add some foreign performances of the famous Russian songs:

Farewell of Slavianka in Chinese
Farewell of Slavianka, Hebrew version (Israel)

For comparison’s sake, this is the original Blue Carriage in Russian – Голубой вагон
