Predictions Coming True! Russia Pivots to Asia: Putin goes to Mongolia and Opens Power of Siberia Pipeline to China
I have said since February 2014 that should Russia feel even slightly inconvenienced by the US/EU sanctions or restrictive attitudes, off to the East they go. I pointed out that the immediate and sweeping result of any Western anti-Russian sanctions will be Russia’s decisive turning away from Europe and West in general, and focusing on Asia. I also warned that Europe will eventually start feeling the pinch, not to mention, the US dollar’s demise will be expedited.
And here it is!
Since May 2014, Putin already signed mega-deals with China, including the Holy Grail multi-year gas deal and various trade, transportation, and tourism deals. Eurasian Union with Belarus and Kazakhstan (Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan on the standby) was officially formed. Eurasian Union will be gradually expanding and it will be interesting to see when the stampede to join the EAU starts. I have some predictions about that, which I may share with all eventually. Add to that all the trade deals Putin signed in Latin America – another region symbolizing the ‘global South’ and the alternative to the US; the increasing drive by various coutries to ditch US dollar in bi-lateral trade and the formation of the BRICS Bank to counter IMF; Russia developing its own credit system + joining the Chinese credit system, while phasing out Visa and MC (also as predicted).
1. Putin and China’s First VP have inaugurated the largest pipeline in the world «Сила Сибири» – the POWER OF SIBERIA. This pipeline will send gas to China from Russia starting 2019. This is the largest construction project in the world. Video link. 3:23 Putin signs the pipeline.
2. Yesterday, Vladimir Putin also visited Mongolia – see the video below.
Some quotes and my thoughts: “Putin was greeted in Mongolia by the crowds gathered along the entire length of his route from the airport to the capital, Ulan-Bator. Putin and Mongolian president Elbegdorzh met as old friends – this is their third meeting this year. Discussed were: the possibility of the Power of Siberia pipeline going through Mongolia, which is the shortest distance to China.”
Therefore, Mongolia may become the Russian gas transit country! Can you imagine the volume of gas to China? The gas transit fees will really boost Mongolia’s tiny GDP!
“The visa regime between Mongolia and Russia is being cancelled. Russian Railways will be modernizing the Mongolian railroads.”
Railroads are very important in these parts and they have to stay very much “up to speed” as they constitute the best way to get around most of Asia, including Siberia, Mongolia and China.
“In addition, the Mongolian president asked Russia to remove restrictions on agricultural produce imports from Mongolia.”
These restrictions have been put in place when US attempted to make Mongolia its semi-colony. However, this trend has now been reversed, as it’s being reversed elsewhere on post-Soviet space. It appears Russia will again allow Mongolian agricultural products provided they adhere to the Russian health codes/norms.
Sure enough – exactly as I predicted in my earlier articles about Russian agricultural sanctions and re-orientation to the East and Latin America, there is a stampede to take over the food/agricultural shelf space lost by Europeans in Russian super-markets. Take a number – now interviewing candidates…
Mongolians still remember very well how the Red Army and the still young Russian commander Zhukov (future Marshall Zhukov, credited primarily with winning WWII) demolished Japanese troops in the battle of Khalkhin Ghol, thus saving the unprepared Mongolia from Japanese invasion. In 1937-45, China wasn’t this lucky.
See Ulan-Bator city footage – 2:30; monument to Marshall Zhukov considered a national hero of Mongolia/veterans/ Zhukov house memorial – 2:45. Mongolian military singing Russian song Den Pobedi (Victory Day) – 3:32.
On a more personal note: Mongolia is a country with a spacious territory and small population that for as long as I can remember had very strong and close ties with Russia. Mongolians always spoke Russian well, and they still do. When I started school, we had several Mongolian students in my class who were sent to Russia to study foreign languages. They spoke Russian practically with no accent whatsoever. One of them was very upset that she was told by her government to study Spanish, instead of her preferred English. Her Russian was awesome though. As soon as she graduated, she became her government’s interpreter from Russian, making a pretty good career. I was living in the West by then and I lost touch with my former classmates, but once in the 1990s I was watching TV news from Russia and I noticed her translating for the Mongolian president who was meeting in the Kremlin with Boris Yeltsin. Not bad for a little girl from Mongolia! I can only boast of translating in a meeting with Fidel Castro. 😉
P.S. While this is happening in Asia and Russia, France has announced that they have suspended the delivery of the first two Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia over Ukraine. Of course, who would have doubted they would be pressured by the US and EU! It will be a huge financial loss for France, although of course they will try to wait it out, hoping the tide changes and they can still fulfil the contract.
I sympathise with France and even with Hollande, although I think France deserves better. But – well – where is Charles De Gaulle, with his courage and independent policies, when you need him? The pressure is enormous, and unfortunately, it will continue, as I said in my many previous articles. Can’t give you any good news here – sorry. The pressure/threats/arm twisting/scare tactics against individual EU countries that attempt to do business and be friendly to Russia will continue until the people of Europe decide that enough is enough and muster their courage to stop being a US colony.
A new comment left by the FuturisTrendcast reader from France in PREDICTIONS: “Now unfortunately my government is a US lap dog too but fortunately my compatriots are not. I was amazed to see how many of them understand the US game and recognize its falsehoods. I really hope that the time you said Russia needs to buy, will bring us justice! Pls. let’s avoid a Worldwar III for the sake of our children and other beloved ones! By the way; the Sochi Olympics were great; everything progressed so smoothly!”
Another interesting article and another great episode from Lada Ray Live is coming shortly. Stay tuned!
Episode 2 of LadaRayLive. Europe’s Stepchildren: Pridnestrovie and Moldova – Eurasian Union vs EU
Moldova and Pridnestrovie – I call them the stepchildren of Europe. The unrecognized Pridnestrovie – PMR (aka, Transnistria or TransDniestria) seceded from Moldova in 1990-1992, following a brutal civil war, and it has been knocking on the door of the Russian Federation ever since. In February 2014 Moldova’s other area, the Gagauzia Autonomy, had a referendum in which citizens voted overwhelmingly to secede from Moldova and join Customs Union with Russia. The new party, “Moldova’s Choice – Customs Union” has been formed in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau (Kishinev), and north Moldovan farmers, who are about to be bankrupted because of sanctions, are on the march. Meanwhile, the Chisinau (Kishinev) politicians and elites continue leading the country into EU. In three months, Moldova will have parliamentary elections. The explosion is coming. Will Moldova turn into another Ukraine? Listen to the very detailed and heartfelt analysis and predictions from Lada Ray, who grew up in those parts and who knows them intimately.

This just in: Ukraine may stop Russian gas transit to EU. Kiev is considering a package of 26 sanctions against Russia, targeting just about all important industries and facets of life, including Russian gas transit, machinery, aviation, transport, military, medicine and more. See report from RT, including a map of current Russian gas pipelines through Ukraine and Belarus.
I wonder, do these geniuses in Kiev government even understand who they are really hurting? Russian medicine ban hits mostly their own citizens, who can’t afford expensive Western medicine. Ban on military/heavy machinery/aviation and other industry cooperation with Russia will create an estimated 3-4 million unemployed. Russia is (was) Ukraine’s largest trading partner. These unemployed will be qualified engineers and skilled workers. They will have 2 choices: to emigrate to the EU and become taxi drivers and janitors, OR come to Russia and work there as skilled workers and engineers on new factories Russia is building to replace the old Ukraine industrial capacities. As I said before, Russia is fast becoming what America was in the 20th century – the destination for the masses of emigrants to escape disasters at home, and to find a better life. Everyone knows how much USA benefitted throughout the 20th century from the mass inflow of immigrants. So will Russia.
Russian UN representative, Vitaly Churkin, said that presently Russia provides refuge for 820 thousand refugees from Ukraine. New RT video: #Ukraine children and elderly seek refuge in #Russia – Жители Украины вывозят стариков, детей в Россию. People say that they had to run from bombings by Kiev army, that they had to live in cellars to save their lives, no one was paying them salary, no water, no gas or food. Their cities turned into dead zones and ghost towns, as everyone left.
As to the Russian gas, I think Kiev definitely should stop Russian gas transit to Europe! I am not joking! I think it’s an excellent move! Again, the geniuses sitting in Kiev will be punishing Europe much more than Russia, and they will be punishing Ukraine as well. This may indeed be a very cold winter, which may finally wake up Europe to the facts: who they have been supporting in Kiev and who their real friends are. I am not too enthusiastic as to the voluntary good will and reason of the Europeans. Sometimes, humans need a push in a form of a real disaster in order to wake them up to reality.
There are only two possibilities why Kiev would be gearing for the Russian gas shut-off, and I suspect that both are true:
1. The Kiev “authorities” are so dumb that they simply can’t grasp what kind of disaster they are about to inflict on themselves and Europe.
2. They are fulfilling a direct order from their handlers in Washington.
Let’s recall that in addition to hurting Russia, US major goal is to also undermine Europe as its biggest economic competitor, and to subdue Europe into a forced symbiosis with the US, to Europe’s detriment. US understands that slowly but surely they are losing the world hegemony and their grip on power, as Europe pivots to the East, as BRICS become more active, and as most of the world perceives US as aggressor and super-bully.
As part of its plan to keep Europe dependent, US is trying to tear EU away from the Russian gas supply and force it into buying its expensive shale gas. As we know, #fracking as barbaric method of gas extraction, also destroys and poisons American land and groundwater.
Of course, in the end, the scheme of separating EU from Russian gas will fall through. But in the meantime, US is poised to inflict a lot of damage on the EU economy. However, this will also force Europe to expedite the construction of South Stream and filling to capacity of the Opal pipeline, bypassing Ukraine.
This can inflict some damage on the Russian economy as well; however, as I said before, Russian economy is in desperate need of a healthy restructuring in order to get rid of the hiccups and distortions of the ’90s. Russians were too comfortable to start such massive restructuring on their own. The external push, such as events in Ukraine and Western sanctions, are forcing Russia to start this very necessary process. The result can only be one: Russian economy will emerge out of it much stronger than before.
I previously predicted that this decade, and into the 2020s, is the Time of Russia. Russia is destined to come as a major winner out of everything that is happening now. And note: peacefully, without dirtying her hands with direct participation in a military conflict.
China will also be a big winner. Other winners: Latin America, all BRICS, and those countries that will join Eurasian Union.
It doesn’t mean that the US won’t do everything to prevent this from happening easily and peacefully (as is evident from current events), but they won’t succeed. The result will also be that Europe at large will get disgusted with their American partner. The movement of Europe towards cooperation with China/Asia, Russia being the glue and the bridge between the two, will intensify this decade, and next.
Of course, the sooner EU changes its own policies and rescinds anti-Russian sanctions, the harder it will be for Kiev and US to continue pushing for conflict and destruction. However, I foresee that only a very dramatic shock will make EU revise its policies. Ukraine shutting off the gas valve may become such a shock.
Another prediction is that unless US changes its policies, it may become largely isolated as a result.
Finally, in the beginning of the Ukraine crisis I made a prediction that Ukraine will become a part of the Eurasian (Customs) Union with Russia between 2016 and 2018. Some have interpreted this to mean that only eastern part of Ukraine, having seceded, will join Eurasian Union.
In fact, I believe most of today’s Ukraine will join Eurasian Union, possibly as 2 separate states, or as one loosely federalized state. The Kiev junta is so over their heads that they will have another maidan on their hands, most likely by, or before, next spring. The next maidan will be just as non-sensical as the 2014 maidan was. However, eventually, very different people will come to power in Ukraine. I also said that Ukraine may become diminished, as Novorossia secedes. Very likely, there will be two, or possibly three, different centers in Ukraine, which will become separate states. Western Ukraine separation is a question mark. Instead of separation, there may be broad autonomy, depending on how disgusted people will be with Kiev at the time. At least two of these parts – most of today’s Ukraine (possibly all of today’s Ukraine) will join Eurasian Union. Ukraine as it existed for 23 years, will never return to its past form.
Eventually, more territories and countries in Europe will join Eurasian Union in some capacity as a way to tear themselves from the US and EU.
Here you can read most of my original PREDICTIONS. Additional new predictions will be posted as time allows.

Below is the new breaking info, to supplement the comprehensive info, analysis and predictions I provided in Predictions: Russia Hits West With Return Sanctions.
Russia finalized the list of products and countries banned for import into Russia.
I warned many times that the attempts by the EU to impose sanctions on Russia will backfire on the EU, and will be a long-term positive for Russia. My predictions are playing out now.
Canada, US, Australia, UK foods/agriculture/raw material imports are banned.
There is a full ban on agricultural/food products from all EU countries and Norway. The ban includes meats, fish, milk products, fruits and vegetables – in short, just about everything. Russia is a huge market for the EU. Annual agriculture/food imports from the EU to Russia total 12bln euros. Total trade between Russia and EU is about $500bln per annum. By contrast, Russia’s trade with the US is only $26bln.
Russia banned all agricultural produce from Belgium – Belgium food exports to Russia total over 400 mln euro per year. All agriculture from Poland is banned. Romania, Italy, Greece, France, Holland, and pretty much every EU country, is affected.
This would have been funny, if it wasn’t that sad! Lithuanian government asks the EU to compensate it for losses associated with Russian sanctions and says that “EU must meet the threat together, as a unified front.” THE THREAT? Let me get this straight: Lithuania had no problem jumping on the bandwagon of the EU/US sanctions against Russia; no problem with EU/US threatening and lying about Russia. Lithuanian mercenaries are a large and integral part of the Kiev junta invasion into Donbass. They play a big role in the bombings of the peaceful population, and bear part of the responsibility for the destruction of the once florishing Lugansk and Donetsk. But when they have to pay the piper for their actions – all of sudden they remember that they are threatened?! Lithuanian agricultural exports into Russia, now banned, were a substantial part of Lithuanian economy.
Finland, another (formerly) large exporter of foods into Russia, admits that it will be very difficult to replace the lucrative Russian market. Russian market accounted for 1/4 of Finland’s entire agricultural/food export!
German Association of Wholesalers and Exporters says that it is worried that the loss of the Russian market, with its large capacity, poses a threat to German economy. This loss affects not only agricultural producers, but also the shipping industry and transportation operators.
At the same time, Russia is to dramatically increase imports from Chile – mainly meat, wine and milk/cheese products. Turkey’s supplies of fruits and vegetables are to increase dramatically as well. Belarus delegation is now in Russia discussing a substantial increase in Belarus food/agri imports. It appears, Kazakhstan is also gearing for the increase of its imports into Russia. Generally, this situation is expected to be a stellar opportunity for certain countries that have been anxious to increase their share in the Russian market, but were being squeezed out of it by the fierce competition. Lines are forming and the race is on. Interviewing candidates… 😉
Russia has also announced measures to boost domestic agricultural output, and as I said in the previous piece, the ban of the European agri products is superb news for Russian farmers and food manufacturers, who were at a huge disadvantage in their own country due to competition from the EU, as a result of the imbalanced policies and proliferation of oligarchs in the 1990s. In short, as I warned and predicted previously, and as discussed in Predictions: Russia Hits West With Return Sanctions, the anti-Russian sanctions by the West will turn into a problem for the EU, and will be a HUGE long-term positive for Russia.
The turn of events is such that these will also become a long-term positive for other countries that were at a huge competitive disadvantage compared to the EU/US producers. This is awesome news as well, as it will help restore the overall balance and justice in the world – something, as my readers know, I often love to talk about. Read more about the current global imbalance and Russia’s universal karmic role in PREDICTIONS.
The ban will be for the term of one year, with possible changes and/or extensions; new products may be added. Such long-term ban means that many of the countries that lose the large and lucrative Russian market, won’t be able to get back in as their place will be taken by someone else.
NEW PREDICTIONS: There is another huge positive for Russia: having invested properly into her own agriculture (and this is finally happening due to sanctions), Russia will eventually regain its place as the world’s bread basket. Turn of the 20th century Russian Empire was called the “bread basket of Europe.” Russian agriculture, albeit damaged after the 1990s disasters, can now rise again. Russia is capable of feeding a large part of the planet with her clean, non-GMO foods. Some of the EU agricultural products, having lost their competitive advantage, will be eventually squeezed out and replaced by Russian products. I say nothing about the US, as it isn’t in the running.
In my prior articles and predictions, I discussed the trend of Russia having to take reluctant measures in response to the US/EU behavior, with these measures morphing into a long-term boon for the country. This is the long-term trend I continue forecasting. In fact, it will intensify. EU shouldn’t have poked Russia (of which I’ve also repeatedly warned). Never a good idea and always ends the same way.
Russia’s PM, Dmitry Medvedev, announced that the government will crack down on any attempt to speculate on banned goods, or to create a black market for banned goods. He has also announced that sanctions exclude baby products.
Russia is gearing for the ban on EU and US commercial flights across Russia. See article link below for specific flight time and financial loss numbers associated with such ban. Ukraine is already banned from using Russian airspace. Dmitry Medvedev announced that Russia may change rules of foreign usage of the TransSiberian routes, including tariffs and routes. He also pointed out that closer to winter, Russia may announce additional sanctions.
This article should be read in conjunction with: Predictions: Russia Hits West With Return Sanctions.
P.S. I have to warn that the US won’t give up despite the losing position they are in (or maybe precisely because they are in this losing position). More crazy pressure on Russia and EU should be expected. Of course, in the final analysis, this will only expedite the collapse of the US empire, but they don’t seem to be too concerned about it. Follow the link above to read more about that. Also, see my other previous articles and Predictions.
