Earth Shift Report 11

THE IMPORTANCE of 2016 RUSSIAN ELECTIONS

.

is now live & available on LadaRay.com!

(MP4/MP3 Video/Audio, plus written factual summary)

Q&A

Why after ESR14, did we go back to ESR11?

If you recall, I have saved ESR10 and ESR11 for Russia-related reports. ESR10: THE CRIMEA FACTOR is coming soon. This is ESR11: THE IMPORTANCE OF 2016 RUSSIAN ELECTIONS.

Why previously ESRs were primarily written and why ESR11 is done in a radio show style?

I have been a prolific writer for years. Unfortunately, as a result of continued stress on my hands, I now have the famous condition of all painters, typists and writers, called Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The most famous Carpal Tunnel Syndrome sufferer was Michelangelo, who had to tie his arm in order to finish painting the Sistine Chapel‘s ceiling. I guess you could say I am in good company. Presently, I have to go easy on typing. I can type smaller pieces, but a huge ESR is impossible for now, until my hand gets much better.

Therefore, in order to deliver all this urgent and crucially important intel to you all, I presently must transition to speaking. When god closes one door, he opens another, which usually is a blessing in disguise. This is the Universe’s way of telling me to move on to something bigger and better. I always wanted to do more video and audio content, so this is my opportunity to expand and grow. This doesn’t mean that written ESRs or articles are going away. Not at all! But in order to continue keeping my usual output pace, I will just have to learn to balance them with more spoken pieces, reports and interviews.

I also think that more info can be delivered faster through speaking. Therefore, I believe we all have a lot to be looking forward to!

Report summary

Introduction

For Lada Ray’s new listeners and followers: what is EARTH SHIFT REPORT (ESR) and where to find it? (LADARAY.COM, aka LadaRay.info)

Throughout PART 1 & PART 2 the main focus of ESR 11: the Russian Elections of September 18, 2016

This report includes crucial info on 2016 Russian Elections, including analysis of who won, who lost, how everything was organized and all most notable parties and political forces involved. I will give you the whole spread on various pro-West and opposing patriotic movements in Russia.

This report includes the inside intel you won’t find anywhere else. What is the secret of United Russia’s success and how it upset the apple cart by introducing revolutionary methods and 60% deputy turnover. Why Communists and Fair Russia lost votes? Why Zhirinovsky’s LDPR gained? Why is there a rift within pro-Russian, patriotic parties, and why anti-Russia pro-West parties completely lost voter support.

The most transparent and technologically advanced elections ever. New Elections Chief Ella Pamfilova, Natalia Poklonskaya and a big wave of Russian women in power. Mystery revealed: Why more women are being elected and why Russians don’t do feminism.

Numbers and facts: turnout and seats distribution; how the new, more equitable electoral system works. Russian Elections by region. Far East to Crimea to Moscow and Kaliningrad. Chechnya and Ramzan Kadyrov: why the highest turnout of 84% was in Chechnya and how Kadyrov was re-elected.

What United Russia’s regained Duma constitutional majority means for Russia and the world? Will Putin be able to push through the new constitution and nationalization of the Ruble? A word about the ’90s: how US advisers, sent to Moscow by Bill Clinton as a present for Boris Yeltsin, wrote post-Soviet Russian constitution. Why this constitution needs to be changed.

Hillary vs. Trump: will Russian Duma Elections influence the outcome of US Presidential Elections 2016?

Additionally, the interconnected major events discussed in FREE PART 1

Everything in our world is interconnected and dependent upon each other. I will discuss several important global events, which are connected directly to Russian elections and will help you form a full picture. These are:

1. US bombing of the Syrian Army on September 17, one day before the elections. Russia’s retaliation: 3 Russian Calibr missiles destroying the infamous US coalition Control Room, killing 30 Israeli and Western officers, whose intelligence helped kill 62 Syrians. If you listen to the entire report (specifically ADDENDUM), you will see how these events are connected with Russian Elections and what was planned right after the elections in Russia.

2. The in-fighting within US elites: Why Kerry and Lavrov are so chummy? Why Kerry and Pentagon are at constant odds? Why the in-fighting in the US will intensify?

3. Ukraine: how ukro-nazis tried to disrupt Russian Elections in Kiev, Lvov and Odessa and how it backfired. Why there are still 80,000 Russian passport-holding citizens living in Ukraine and who they really planned to vote for?
Related: how Ukraine will survive the winter without Donbass coal and Russian gas? Is there hope for the continuation of Minsk negotiations? What do Merkel and Hollande push for and how my Ukraine predictions are coming along? Will the real change begin occurring after Merkel is gone? Will the change occur if Trump is elected? How long has Poroshenko got?

4. BREAKING NEWS from the breakaway Pridnestrovie (PMR): President Shevchuk announces PMR intent to join Russia. Results of 2006 referendum. Sheriff: the new oligarchic pro-Romania, pro-West monopoly and how it’s being dealt with. How many Russian citizens are there in Pridnestrovie? How Pridnestrovie welcomed Russian Duma Elections. Upcoming Pridnestrovie presidential elections. Can Russia actually accept Pridnestrovie, like she did Crimea?

The most explosive intel is contained in the ESR11 ADDENDUM!

We’ll talk about several crucial events that happened in the run up to Duma Elections on September 18, as well as after the date. These are:
1. Kiev junta’s attempted attack against Crimea (most intel on that will be in the upcoming ESR10: THE CRIMEA FACTOR).
2. Attempted infiltration of ukro-nazi militants into Russian territory with the stated purpose of disrupting elections and how it was prevented.
3. FSB work.
4. How US coalition bombing of Syrian army on September 17 is related to all this. Now we can connect the dots: how Russian Calibr retaliation vs. US coalition is related not only to Syria, but to Russian Elections and planned coup!
5. EXPLOSIVE INTEL! Arrest in Moscow a couple of weeks before the elections of Colonel Zakharchenko. A huge stash of cash: 1.5 tons (in weight) of US dollars in the original US FED packaging, plus 8bln rubles, found in his possession. I will give you my intel and analysis: how the stash was kept, who it belonged to and what it was supposed to be used for.
6. Assassination near Moscow of the leader of Ukrainian anti-fascist, anti-junta organisation Oplot. How this assassination is related to the attempted ukro-nazi infiltration and FSB’s spectacular prevention results.
7. Is a coup in Russia possible? What US planned after elections.

Putin’s Full Speech at 2015 UNGA: Do You Realize What Kind of Monster You’ve Created? With Xi Jinping and Lukashenko

Putin’s speech to the UN General Assembly – “Do you realize what kind of monster you have created?” Indictment of the US exceptionalism and a call to cooperation. This post includes China’s Xi Jinping, Alexandr Lukashenko of Belarus, and more.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s Full Speech at 2015 UNGA – Russian

PUTIN’S FULL SPEECH with English translation

Putin’s UNGA press-conference – English:

~~~~~~~
President of China Xi Jinping at UNGA:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

70th session of UN General Assembly: LIVE UPDATES https://www.rt.com/trends/unga70/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Putin’s interview to American TV channels CBS and PBSVladimir Putin gave an interview to American journalist Charlie Rose in the run-up to his address at the UN General Assembly’s 70th session.
Transcript:
Full text of the interview will be published on http://en.kremlin.ru September 29.
* * *
CHARLIE ROSE: You will speak to the United Nations in a much-anticipated address on Monday. It will be the first time you have been there in a number of years. What will you say to the UN, to America, to the world?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Since this interview will be aired prior to my speech, I do not think it reasonable to go into much detail about everything I am going to speak about, but, broadly, I will certainly mention some facts from the history of the United Nations. Now I can already tell you that the decision to establish the United Nations was taken in our country at the Yalta Conference. It was in the Soviet Union that this decision was made. The Soviet Union, and Russia as the successor state to the Soviet Union, is a founding member state of the United Nations and a permanent member of its Security Council.
Of course, I will have to say a few words about the present day, about the evolving international situation, about the fact that the United Nations remains the sole universal international organisation designed to maintain global peace. And in this sense it has no alternative today. It is also apparent that it should adapt to the ever-changing world, which we discuss all the time: how it should evolve and at what rate, which components should undergo qualitative changes. Of course, I will have to or rather should use this international platform to explain Russia’s vision of today’s international relations, as well as the future of this organisation and the global community.
CHARLIE ROSE: We are expecting you to speak about the threat of the Islamic State and your presence in Syria that is related to that. What is the purpose of your presence in Syria and how does that relate to the challenge of ISIS?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I believe, I am pretty certain that virtually everyone speaking from the United Nations platform is going to talk about the fight, about the need to fight terrorism, and I cannot avoid this issue, either. This is quite understandable because it is a serious common threat to all of us; it is a common challenge to all of us. Today, terrorism threatens a great number of states, a great number of people – hundreds of thousands, millions of people suffer from its criminal activity. And we all face the task of joining our efforts in the fight against this common evil.
Concerning our, as you put it, presence in Syria, as of today it has taken the form of weapons supplies to the Syrian government, personnel training and humanitarian aid to the Syrian people. We act based on the United Nations Charter, i.e. the fundamental principles of modern international law, according to which this or that type of aid, including military assistance, can and must be provided exclusively to legitimate government of one country or another, upon its consent or request, or upon the decision of the United Nations Security Council. In this particular case, we act based on the request from the Syrian government to provide military and technical assistance, which we deliver under entirely legal international contracts.
CHARLIE ROSE: The Secretary of State John Kerry said that the United States welcomed your assistance in the fight against the Islamic State. Others have taken note of the fact that these are combat planes and manpad systems that are being used against the conventional army, not extremists.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: There is only one regular army there. That is the army of Syrian President al-Assad. And he is confronted with what some of our international partners interpret as an opposition. In reality, al-Assad’s army is fighting against terrorist organisations. You should know better than me about the hearings that have just taken place in the United States Senate, where the military and Pentagon representatives, if I am not mistaken, reported to the senators about what the United States had done to train the combat part of the opposition forces. The initial aim was to train between 5,000 and 6,000 fighters, and then 12,000 more. It turns out that only 60 of these fighters have been properly trained, and as few as 4 or 5 people actually carry weapons, while the rest of them have deserted with the American weapons to join ISIS. That is the first point.
Secondly, in my opinion, provision of military support to illegal structures runs counter to the principles of modern international law and the United Nations Charter. We have been providing assistance to legitimate government entities only.
In this connection, we have proposed cooperation to the countries in the region, we are trying to establish some kind of coordination framework. I personally informed the President of Turkey, the King of Jordan, as well as the Saudi Arabia of that, we informed the United States too, and Mr Kerry, whom you have mentioned, had an in-depth conversation with our Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on this matter; besides, our military stay in touch and discuss this issue. We would welcome a common platform for collective action against the terrorists.
<…>
CHARLIE ROSE: Are you ready to join forces with the United States against ISIS and is it why you are in Syria? Others believe that it might be part of your goal, that you are trying to save President al-Assad’s administration because they have been losing ground and the war has not been going well for them, and you are there to rescue them.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: That’s right, that’s how it is. We provide assistance to legitimate Syrian authorities. Moreover, I strongly believe that by acting otherwise, acting to destroy the legitimate bodies of power we would create a situation that we are witnessing today in other countries of the region or in other regions of the world, for instance, in Libya, where all state institutions have completely disintegrated.
Unfortunately, we are witnessing a similar situation in Iraq. There is no other way to settle the Syrian conflict other than by strengthening the existing legitimate government agencies, support them in their fight against terrorism and, of course, at the same time encourage them to start a positive dialogue with the “healthy” part of the opposition and launch political transformations.
CHARLIE ROSE: As you know, some coalition partners want al-Assad to go before they can support the government.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I would like to advise or recommend them to forward this suggestion to the Syrian people. It is only up to the Syrian people living in Syria to determine who, how and based on what principles should rule their country.
CHARLIE ROSE: Do you support what President al-Assad is doing in Syria and what is happening to those Syrians, to those millions of refugees, to hundreds of thousands of people who have been killed and many – by his own force?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: And do you think that those who support the armed opposition and, mainly, terrorist organisations just in order to overthrow al-Assad without thinking of what awaits the country after the complete destruction of state institutions are doing the right thing?
Time and again, with perseverance worthy of a better cause, you are talking about the Syrian army fighting against its people. But take a look at those who control 60 percent of Syrian territory. Where is that civilised opposition? 60 percent of Syria is controlled either by ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other terrorist organisations, organisations that have been recognised as terrorist by the United States, as well as other countries and the UN.
CHARLIE ROSE: Would Russia deploy its combat troops in Syria if it is necessary to defeat ISIS?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Russia will not take part in any field operations on the territory of Syria or in other states; at least, we do not plan it for now. But we are thinking of how to intensify our work both with President al-Assad and our partners in other countries.
CHARLIE ROSE: As we come back to the problem of many people considering that al-Assad is helping ISIS, that his terrible attitude towards the Syrian people and the use of barrel bombs and other actions are helping ISIS, and if he is removed, the transition period would be better at some point for the purposes of fighting ISIS.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: In secret services’ parlance, I can say that such an assessment is a blatant act by al-Assad’s enemies. It is anti-Syrian propaganda.
CHARLIE ROSE: This wording is very broad, among other things, it can mean new efforts by Russia to take up the leadership role in the Middle East and it can mean that it represents your new strategy. Is it really a new strategy?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: No. There are more than 2,000 militants in Syria from the former Soviet Union. So instead of waiting for them to return back home we should help President al-Assad fight them there, in Syria. This is the main incentive that impels us to help President al-Assad.
In general, we want the situation in the region to stabilize.
CHARLIE ROSE: You are proud of Russia and it means that you want Russia to play a more significant role in the world. This is just one of the examples.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: This is not an end in itself. I am proud of Russia. We have much to be proud of. But we have no obsession that Russia must be a super power in the international arena.
CHARLIE ROSE: But you are a major power because of the nuclear weapons you possess. You are a force to be reckoned with.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I hope so (laughing), otherwise what are these weapons for?
The Ukrainian issue is a separate huge issue for us, I will tell you why. Ukraine is the closest country to us. We have always said that Ukraine is our sister country and it is true. It is not just a Slavic people, it is the closest people to Russia: we have similar languages, culture, common history, religion etc.
Here is what I believe is completely unacceptable for us. Addressing issues, including controversial ones, as well as domestic issues of the former Soviet Republics through the so-called coloured revolutions, through coups and unconstitutional means of toppling the current government. That is absolutely unacceptable. Our partners in the United States are not trying to hide the fact that they supported those opposed to President Yanukovych.
CHARLIE ROSE: You believe the United States had something to do with the ousting of Yanukovych, when he had to flee to Russia?
VLADIMIR PUTIN.: I know this for sure.
CHARLIE ROSE: How can you know for sure?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: It is very simple. We have thousands of contacts and thousands of connections with people who live in Ukraine. And we know who had meetings and worked with people who overthrew Viktor Yanukovych, as well as when and where they did it; we know the ways the assistance was provided, we know how much they paid them, we know which territories and countries hosted trainings and how it was done, we know who the instructors were. We know everything. Well, actually, our US partners are not keeping it a secret.
CHARLIE ROSE: Doyou respect the sovereignty of Ukraine?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Certainly. However, we would like other countries to respect the sovereignty of other states, including Ukraine, too. Respecting the sovereignty means preventing coups, unconstitutional actions and illegitimate overthrowing of the legitimate government.
CHARLIE ROSE: How does the renewal of the legitimate power take place in your judgment? How will that come about? And what role will Russia play?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: At no time in the past, now or in the future has or will Russia take any part in actions aimed at overthrowing the legitimate government.
CHARLIE ROSE: Did you have to use the military force to accomplish that objective?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Of course, no.
CHARLIE ROSE: Russia has military presence on the borders with Ukraine, and some argue that there have been Russian troops in Ukraine itself.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Do you have a military presence in Europe?
CHARLIE ROSE: Yes.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: The U.S. tactical nuclear weapons are in Europe, let us not forget this. Does it mean that the U.S. has occupied Germany or that the U.S. never stopped the occupation after World War II and only transformed the occupation troops into the NATO forces? And if we keep our troops on our territory on the border with some state, you see it is a crime?
CHARLIE ROSE: As you know, you are very much talked about in America.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Do they not have anything else to do? ( Laughs.)
CHARLIE ROSE: Or maybe they are curious people? Or maybe you are an interesting character, maybe that is what it is? They know that you were the KGB agent, who retired and got into politics. In St. Petersburg you became deputy mayor, then moved to Moscow. And the interesting thing is that they see these images of you, bare-chested man on horseback, and they say there is a man who carefully cultivates his image of strength.
You enjoy the work, you enjoy representing Russia, and I know you have been an intelligence officer. Intelligence officer knows how to read other people; that’s part of the job, right?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: It used to be my job. Now I have a different job and for quite a while already.
CHARLIE ROSE: Someone in Russia told me, “There is no such thing as a former KGB man. Once a KGB man, always a KGB man.”
VLADIMIR PUTIN: You know every stage of your life has an impact on you. Whatever we do, all the knowledge, the experience, they stay with us, we carry them on, use them in one way or another. In this sense, yes, you are right.
CHARLIE ROSE: Once, somebody from the CIA told me that the training you have is important, that you learn to be liked as well. Because you have to charm people, you have to seduce them.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Well, if the CIA told you so, then it must be true. They are experts on that. (Laughing)
CHARLIE ROSE: The popularity rating you have in Russia, I believe, makes every politician in the world envious. Why are you so popular?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: There is something that unites me and other citizens of Russia. It is love for our Motherland.
CHARLIE ROSE: It was an emotional moment at the time of the [World War II Memory], because of the sacrifices Russia had made. And you were staying with a picture of your father with tears in your eyes.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Yes, my family and my relatives as a whole suffered heavy losses during the Second World War. That is true. In my father’s family there were five brothers and four of them were killed, I believe. On my mother’s side the situation is much the same. In general, Russia suffered heavily. No doubt, we cannot forget that and we must not forget, not to accuse anyone but to ensure that nothing of the kind ever happens again.
CHARLIE ROSE: You also said that the worst thing that happened in the last century was the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the Soviet empire. There are those who look at Ukraine and Georgia and think that you do not want to recreate the Soviet empire, but you do want to recreate a sphere of influence, which, you think, Russia deserves because of the relationship that has existed. Why are you smiling?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: (Laughing) Your questions make me happy. Somebody is always suspecting Russia of having some ambitions, there are always those who are trying to misinterpret us or keep something back. I did say that I see the collapse of the Soviet Union as a great tragedy of the XX century. Do you know why? First of all, because 25 million of Russian people suddenly turned out to be outside the borders of the Russian Federation. They used to live in one state; the Soviet Union has traditionally been called Russia, the Soviet Russia, and it was the great Russia. They used to live in one country and suddenly found themselves abroad. Can you imagine how many problems came out?
First, there were everyday issues, the separation of families, the economic and social problems. The list is endless. Do you think it is normal that 25 million people, Russian people, suddenly found themselves abroad? The Russians have turned out to be the largest divided nation in the world nowadays. Is that not a problem? It is not a problem for you as it is for me.
CHARLIE ROSE: As far as we know, you are very popular, but, forgive me, there are many people who are very critical towards you in Russia. As you know, they say it is more autocratic than democratic. They say that political opponents and journalists had been killed and imprisoned in Russia. They say your power is unchallenged. And they say that power, an absolute power corrupts absolutely. What would you say to those people who worry about the climate, the atmosphere in Russia?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: There can be no democracy without observing the law and everyone must observe it – that is the most basic and important thing that we all should remember.
As for those tragic incidents as losses of lives, including those of the journalists, unfortunately, it happens in all countries around the world. But if it occurs in Russia, we take every step possible to ensure that the perpetrators are found, identified and punished. We will work on all issues in the same way.
But the most important thing is that we will continue improving our political system so that people and every citizen will feel that they can influence the life of state and society, they can influence the authorities, and so that the authorities will be aware of their responsibility before those people who gave their confidence to the representatives of the authorities in the elections.
CHARLIE ROSE: If you as the leader of this country insist that the rule of law be observed, if you insist that justice be done, if you because of your power do that, then it could go a long way eliminating that perception.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: A lot can be done, but not everyone immediately succeeds in everything. How long has it taken the democratic process to develop in the United States? Since it was founded. So, do you think that as regards democracy everything is settled now in America? If this were so, there would be no Ferguson issue, right? There would be no other issues of similar kind, there would be no police abuse.
Our goal is to see all these issues and respond to them timely and properly. The same applies to Russia. We also have a lot of problems.
CHARLIE ROSE: Are you curious about America more than simply another nation that you have to deal with?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: It is interesting for us to know what is happening in the US. America has a strong influence on the situation in the world in general.
CHARLIE ROSE: What do you like most about America?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: America’s creative approach to solving the problems the country is faced with, its openness and open-mindedness which make it possible to unleash the potential of the people. I believe that largely due to these qualities America has made such tremendous strides in its development.
CHARLIE ROSE: What do you think of President Obama? What is your evaluation of him?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I do not think I am entitled to assess the President of the United States. This is up to the American people.
CHARLIE ROSE: Do you think his activities in foreign affairs reflect a weakness?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: Why? I do not think so at all. The point is that in any country, including the United States, may be in the United States even more often than in any other country, foreign policy is used for internal political struggle. An election campaign will soon start in the United States. They always play either Russian card or any other.
CHARLIE ROSE: Let me ask you this question: Do you think he listens to you?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I think that we all listen to each other when it does not contradict our own ideas of what we should and should not do.
CHARLIE ROSE: You said Russia is not a super power. Do you think he considers Russia an equal? Considers you an equal? Which is the way you want to be treated?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: (Laughing) Ask him, he is your President! How can I know what he thinks?
CHARLIE ROSE: Are you watching the republican political debates?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: If you ask me whether I watch them on a daily basis – I would say no.
CHARLIE ROSE: Marco Rubio is running for a Republican nomination and he said you were a gangster.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: How can I be a gangster, if I worked for the KGB? It is absolutely ridiculous.
CHARLIE ROSE: Are people in Russia fearful of you?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I do not think so. I assume most people trust me, if they vote for me in elections. And it is the most important thing. It places great responsibility on me, immense responsibility. I am grateful to the people for that trust, but I surely feel great responsibility for what I do and for the result of my work.
CHARLIE ROSE: As you know, some have called you a tsar.
VLADIMIR PUTIN: So what? You know, they call me different things…
CHARLIE ROSE: Does this title fit you?
VLADIMIR PUTIN: No, it doesn’t. It is not what your supporters, friends or your political adversaries call you that matters. What is important is what you think you must do in the interests of the country, which put you in such position, such post as the Head of the Russian State.
Transcripts of Putin’s meetings in NYC, September 28, Monday:
Meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe
Meeting with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani
Meeting with President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro
Meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
Putin also did meet with Barack Obama (see Putin’s press conference for more).
For comparison’s sake, here is President of the USA Barack Hussein Obama’s Full Speech at 2015 UNGA. While Putin spoke for 23 minutes, Obama spoke for 44 minutes – almost twice as long, disregarding the allotted 15 minute limit.
Another interesting one: President of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko’s speech to the 2015 UNGA (Russian), which I’ve translated below.
(LR: The standard of living in Belarus is twice as high as in the neighboring Ukraine, especially after the US/EU-sponsored coup of 2014. The population of Belarus is still intact due to Belarus continuing to develop its industrial-agricultural base and close cooperation with Russia. This is the opposite of the catastrophic loss of the population in Ukraine, with millions of refugees and migrants to Russia, and the neighboring Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania (EU members), where half of the adult population emigrated to richer EU states and to Russia to find work. See my comprehensive article about Belarus, Lukashenko and neighboring countries: Bluff or Ukraine-2 Disaster? Why Lukashenko and Belarus Are Cozying Up to the WestBy comparison, the standard of living in Russia is 4 times that of Ukraine.)
Lukashenko has also said that the world is more imbalanced than ever; since the collapse of the USSR, the world has failed to regain the true balance and stability. If there is no stability, there is no peace and no balance of power. In any system where there is one single power left, that power will try to gain unfair advantage and increase its own prosperity at the expense of all others. The politics of the US hegemony and national egotism leads to unprecedented pressure on all other countries, sanctions and military interventions.
On the surface and for all to see, we have examples of extreme political arrogance, lies and crimes against humanity. Recent examples are how certain countries decided to democratize Iraq, using the excuse of the non-existent weapons of mass destruction. So, where are those weapons of mass destruction? Where is the Iraq democracy? Why was the president of Iraq killed? What’s left of the country once called Iraq? You’ll say they have made a mistake. Then they should have stopped. But no, they went on to destroy Libya. Maybe enough is enough? No, Syria is next on their agenda.
Same with Ukraine, said Lukashenko. If we don’t stop civil war in Europe, where brothers kill their brothers, the entire world ‘will plunge into a hot crisis, leading to a global war in the very center of the civilized and developed world’ (that’s verbatim what he said). ‘In thousands of years we still fail to understand how fragile peace and stability are. I say this to remind the rulers of this world that God sees what you are doing. You all commit crimes against humanity, while you all appear to be religious people, all attend church. But what if God gets angry enough at your actions and decides to punish your countries. Your innocent people will then have to pay for your crimes’ (again, verbatim).
Urgent! Ukraine Nazi Vandals Scheduled to Destroy UNESCO World Heritage Site in Odessa on 10/14!
Video call snapshot 78Lada’s announcements:
1. Dear readers, in the past several months I have been traveling the world. Due to life changes I’ll talk about in the future, I am now deciding where to relocate. I’ll be returning to the US for the holidays. So far, I’ve been keeping up with my posts and reader comments from the road. Going forward, I am looking forward to creating and publishing many more interesting videos, articles and Earth Shift Reports!
2. Today, I was scheduled to post Earth Shift Report 2: The Historic Roots of Russophobia in Ukraine and How to Cure It. Unfortunately, probably due to Mercury Retrograde and the eclipse, WordPress editor has become glitchy. When I was preparing my report for publication, it screwed up my formatting and the spellcheck didn’t want to cooperate. Therefore, I have to slow down and publish this report in a few days, when hopefully, the spellcheck and sanity gets restored. The upcoming Earth Shift Report 2 contains a lot of interesting, one of a kind intel, history, and juicy stuff not to be missed! It works closely together with my today’s post. Stay tuned!
Urgent! Ukraine Nazi Vandals Scheduled to Destroy UNESCO World Heritage Site in Odessa!
I have just learned that the Kiev junta government gave marching orders to the same traveling circus of violence that destroyed the monument to Lenin in Kharkov, and many such monuments around the country. You can see the video of the destruction and violence against those who wanted to reason with the crazed vandals in my post: The Ugly Mask of Fascism in Ukraine 1: Urge to Destroy. It has to be emphasized that these masked vandals are the VERY WELL PAID ONES. Who finances them? I’ll give you a hint – NOT the bankrupt Kiev junta government!
I am not the biggest Lenin fan, but he is as much a part of our history as any other leader, and I respect my history. Not to mention, it was Lenin who was the ‘father of the Ukraine nation.’ Before Lenin, there was no country called Ukraine – read all about that in the upcoming Earth Shift Report!
The Kharkov monument these nazis destroyed was the world’s largest monument to Lenin installed on Europe’s largest square. Dozens of Lenin monuments have been destroyed all over Ukraine. In the city of Zaporozhie locals ‘saved’ the Lenin monument from destruction by… dressing it in a traditional embroidered Ukrainian shirt, ‘vishivanka.’ Can you say ‘bizarre’?
However, I have just learned that the destruction is to get much worse.
Because ukro-nazis have lost in Donbass/Novorossia and are forced to make peace, and also because they are unable to extort Russian gas for free any more (and winter is coming), they are now waging a war against monuments. This senseless violence is an attempt to re-write history, to delete any links to Russia Ukraine has ever had, and to re-shape the consciousness of their young generation as enemies of Russia.
The worst thing is that Odessa isn’t, and has never been, a Ukrainian city. It was always Russian, given to Ukraine based on a stupid geopolitical mistake by Lenin. Same goes for Kharkov. Lenin’s move perhaps seemed politically expedient in 1922,during the formation of the USSR, but it is backfiring now. Lenin’s excuse is that Ukraine in the configuration we see it today was only supposed to exist as part of the Greater Russia. Stay tuned for Earth Shift Report 2, which will cover this in detail.
After the May 2 burning of people alive in Odessa and after Kharkov killings and demolitions, the ukro-nazis have intimidated the people in both Kharkov and Odessa so much that they are afraid to make a peep. Kharkov is the second largest city in Ukraine and Odessa is the cultural, sea and summer capital of Ukraine. Both of these places hold enormous importance, and they are correctly deemed to be the most dangerous for the ukro-nazi junta, as they are next in line for an insurrection after Donbass. By demolishing monuments dear to locals, the Kiev junta is attempting to erase the citizens’ memory and destroy their dignity to the point of no return.
But with Odessa, they may go too far. The two monuments they want to demolish are a part of the protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. Not only that, there are hundreds of thousands of Odessans with clout living all over the world. Odessans never stop being Odessans, whether they live in New York, Melbourne, Tel-Aviv or Berlin. If they demolish these monuments they will only expedite their demise and subsequent war crimes tribunal!
Many of my readers know that I spent my childhood in Odessa. I was born in Moscow and both of these beautiful cities are in my heart. What is happening in Odessa is important to me. Unfortunately, many people who had the smarts and initiative, who didn’t want to be a part of the Ukraine farce, left Odessa throughout the 1990s-2000s. I have no idea how many people with guts are left there. Odessa used to be a Hero City, the title it received based on its staunch resistance during the Great War. Odessans are lovers, jokers and traders, but they know how to stand up for themselves in case of an attack.
This is an all out attack on everything Odessans hold dear! Is there anyone left in Odessa to stand up to it?
Odessa:
Monument to Russian Empress Ekaterina II – Catherine the Great – founder of the Russian city of Odessa
The ukro-nazi traveling circus of chaos was given an order to destroy the remainder of what they deem the Russia-related monuments in Kharkov, and also, to destroy the historic monument to Ekaterina II, or Catherine the Great, in Odessa. According to my intel, they may also attempt to destroy the monument to Pushkin on Primorsky Bulvar. Both monuments are extremely valuable historic and artistic treasures.
Both the Catherine the Great monument and the Pushkin monument are part of the Unesco World Heritage Site, which includes the entire center of Odessa, together with Pushkinskaya and Deribasovskaya Streets, the famous Odessa Opera and Tchaikovsky Drive, Primorsky Bulvar, the Old Ratusha (mayor’s office), museums, Vorontsov Palace, the Potemkinskaya Steps, and Odessa Seaport with the unique Odesskiy Mayak (lighthouse).
Pushkin
Pushkin 2
The world-famous monument to the great Russian writer Alexander Pushkin, Odessa’s pride and joy! It faces the Primorsky Bulvar with views of the Odessa Bay, and backs to the Old Ratusha. Pushkin monument on one side and Catherine the Great monument on another, both frame the Primorsky Bulvar along the Black Sea.
You can read my posts about Odessa with many more great images:
It will be disastrous if they succeed in destroying the monument to Catherine the Great, and/or to Pushkin. Simply disastrous. Together with the burning of people alive on May 2 in the House of the Unions on historic Kulikovo Polie, this would completely ruin Odessa as a beautiful city I remember.
These monuments were built extremely well. They survived many wars and revolutions. Even German and Romanian Nazis who occupied Odessa during WWII didn’t touch them. To think that people speaking the same language and living in the same country would do such a thing… This is why those who do it hide behind masks. They are afraid of being recognized and brought to justice.
The problem is that in Kharkov the ukro-nazis beat to death a man who tried to stop them from destroying the Lenin monument. Other four people received stab wounds. People are mortally afraid to speak up. Only a very large crowd can prevent this act of vandalism from happening. But it’s well-known that ukro-nazis do their awful deeds at night, when people are asleep.
By continuing these acts of aggression, ukro-nazis are destroying what’s left of the good will on the part of Russians. I wonder, how do they intend to conduct the gas negotiations after this? A cold winter is coming.
The scariest thing is that those in the US and EU who were hoping to divide Ukraine and create the enemy state next to Russia’s borders, are partially succeeding. It is only the cool head of Putin that is still holding it together. Even I am losing patience. And if they do destroy the monuments in Odessa I had loved since I was a child, consider my patience officially lost!
I will repeat again and again: all this became possible only because the US and EU, with their bought-and-paid-for politicians, financed and instigated the Kiev maidan; because CIA/MI6, US State Dept, UK, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Brussels, etc., created and encouraged the atmosphere of lawlessness and all-permissiveness in Ukraine; because UN, OSCE, Red Cross, US, EU continue closing their eyes to the many atrocities of the Kiev junta all over Ukraine; because they IGNORE and refuse to investigate the overwhelming number of crimes against humanity, therefore encouraging more of them to take place.
I hold personally responsible for what is happening in Ukraine: Obama, Kerry, Biden, Merkel, Ashland, Soros, Western MSM, and all those EU and US political, military, economic and media clowns who financed, trained and orchestrated the violence in Ukraine, as well as those who pull the strings of the aforementioned clowns.
Karma is getting really heavy not only for Ukraine, but for all those from the above-mentioned organizations and countries who are allowing the new fascist state in Ukraine to proliferate! And karma is a bitch!
Urgent! Church Pogroms Planned! Another UNESCO World Heritage Site under attack!
This is directly related to above post! Just learned that on October 14, 2014 they are also preparing to destroy and/or capture various Russian Orthodox churches and cathedrals all around Ukraine. Crazed nazi right sector and ultra-nationalist mobs have been threatening priests in Russian churches and vandalizing the church property for months. However, this is something new. Tomorrow, they plan a streamlined action, in which they want to take control of all Russian Orthodox church property everywhere in Ukraine. Russian Orthodox is the traditional faith of the people here since about the 10th century. In fact, it was in Kiev, the Kievan Rus, where Christianity started on Russian lands.
Among other churches, tomorrow they plan to capture the Kiev-Pechorskaya Lavra in Kiev, the seat of the Russian Orthodox church in Ukraine. The beautiful Kiev-Pechorskaya Lavra is a 800-year-old massive Orthodox monastery, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Link to article.
What Brought Down Russian Satellite? Angela Merkel’s Biggest Fear? Plus Ukraine Election Prediction
This is a follow-up to my last article: Russia’s Moves: Outlawing GMO and Putin’s Holy Grail Gas Deal with China. In addition to the GMO and Russia/China gas mega-deal, I have discussed Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany. Please go to the link to see what I said.
In response to my words about #Merkel, I received this very interesting comment from a regular reader of this blog and I thought it was so telling that I decided to create a new article by responding to it. Pieter’s comments are always sharp. However, this one perhaps underlines the confusions that exist in the EU. Please forgive me that I am not mincing words. This is because we are talking very serious issues and sometimes you need to say it straight in order to get through the mud of confusion.
Pieter from Europe says:I don’t think Merkel has to fear a scandal. She’s too smart and well organized for such crap.
Merkel fears an escalation. I’m fearing that too. That internet satellite Russia launched last week was shot down. By a ufo, an unknown weapon of the US forces, I don’t know. But that satellite was brought down. Certain evolutions are confusing me. Let’s wait what the may 25 elections will bring for Ukraine.” Read the rest of this entry
Breaking! South-East Ukraine on Fire: Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk, Nikolaev Want Independence
Just a few days ago I said the following in reply to the readers’ comments: “There may be a serious revolution starting in Donbass soon. The locals have announced that if the referendum is not scheduled in a few days, they will initiate it.” “Ukrainian election in May won’t work out as they plan and hope – my prediction.” “This is only the beginning. Just wait till the end of May – June. At that point and later in the year, the whole situation will start backfiring.”
By the time I returned from a weekend trip on Sunday and turned on my computer, my predictions already started materializing. Read the rest of this entry
Why Is Canada’s PM Harper in a Rush to Visit Ukraine?
“Canada welcomes latest U.S. sanctions (against Russia – LR). While Ukraine’s interim prime minister has left his country to solicit the support of other world leaders during the crisis in his country, no G7 leader has set foot in Ukraine amid the political unrest.”  – CBS News
“Harper’s visit to #Kyiv — where he will meet with Ukraine’s Interim Prime Minister Arseniy #Yatsenyuk — will be further “expression of Canada’s principled stand on Ukraine,” said the prime minister’s director of communications, Jason MacDonald in an interview with CBC News on Thursday.
This visit has been proclaimed to be “historic.” I bet this is the first time during his entire tenure that Canada’s PM Stephen #Harper found the time to personally visit Ukraine. And it’s not just any time – it’s specifically NOW, after the coup that unseated the democratically elected Victor #Yanukovich and installed the unelected US stooge Yatsenyuk, or “Yats,” as was so well articulated by Victoria #Nuland in her leaked phone conversation. Canada’s Harper also holds the dubious distinction of being the VERY FIRST foreign leader to visit Ukraine since the Kiev coup!
To remind everyone, #Canada, a member of G7, was also the first nation to start the so-called sanctions against #Russia, consisting of telling the Russian soldiers in Canada, who were there as an exchange delegation, to clear out of the country within 24 hours.
Harper’s visit to Ukraine is orchestrated by the same US and EU forces who created the area of extremely dangerous instability in Ukraine, next to Russia’s border. It is orchestrated in the same way as the recent Kiev coup to coincide with #SochiOlympics; as the un-signable trap that was the Yanukovich’s EU association agreement; as the Western Ukraine nazis’ financing and armed takeover of Kiev. For more on that, read my analytical series on this blog: “What is Really Happening in Ukraine.”
So, why was specifically Harper chosen by the G7 to start the new “trend” of visiting the unelected governments? Very simple: Harper is a very convenient figure to do that. First, Canada has practically no trade, no borders, nor any other important or far-reaching relations with Russia. It would be difficult for any EU country to start this trend; the result for mutual trade with Russia would be pretty adverse. US president Obama already met with Yatsenyuk in Washington, but of course he considers it beneath himself to fly over to Kiev. He might send Biden instead. After all, USA is “special.” Enter Harper.
To quote my fellow blogger, Tales from the World“Once again I feel as a Canadian that I must apologize to the world for our so-called leader who is merely a minion puppet of the White House. Ask yourselves why Harper is the first foreign leader to visit the Ukraine. I tend to believe that Obama is so far behind on the popularity scale, the enormous lies are not saving the White House this time, that Harper was probably asked (told) to go and do Obama’s bidding. This Harper administration has changed the role of Canada on the world’s stage from a peaceful and liberal nation to another subsidiary of the American military complex.”
I agree, Canada used to be such nice and reasonable country – what a pity…
The above notwithstanding, in this article I will prove that this “historic” visit by Canada’s PM Harper to Ukraine goes well beyond him being a US stooge. Harper’s interest in Ukraine is more than that. Here is why:
First: Many of the old immigrants from Western Ukraine and their heirs reside in Canada. There are some of those in the US, but fewer. The immigrants from Ukraine tend to be farmers, as that is what they used to do in the old country. Canada happened to be the preferred place for Ukrainian emigration throughout the 20th century. The two main waves of the Ukrainian immigration to Canada were: 1. anti-Russian, anti-communist, ultra-nationalist Ukrainians who fled from the newly formed USSR after losing the 1918-1920 Civil War; 2. Ukrainian nazis from the Galichina SS division – the most vicious SS division of which even Hitler was afraid. After the USSR won the war against Hitler, these Ukrainian SS members fled to the USA, Argentina, but primarily to Canada.
These were the people who always hated Russia. I met some of them in the USA and I wish I didn’t. For them time stands still as they still carry their old hates and spites through all these years. For those who don’t know, SS Division Galichina, and its leader Stepan Bandera, who is considered by the Ukraine’s new government the biggest Ukrainian hero, killed and tortured to death hundreds of thousands of Russians, Ukrainians and Poles. After this, no wonder the Crimeans and Russian-speakers in Ukraine are afraid for their lives.
The descendants of these people currently form a powerful Ukrainian lobby in Canada. I am sure Canadian political insiders can put exact numbers to my words. However, from where I sit, I strongly suspect Canadian policies are influenced in no small measure by this Ukrainian diaspora. The same way as the long-standing US Cuban embargo (whether such embargo makes sense or not) continues being strongly influenced by the powerful Cuban anti-Castro lobby from Miami.
The citizens of both USA and Canada should seriously consider who, how and why is secretly pulling the strings of their countries’ political leaders behind their backs and contrary to the people’s true interests.
Secondly, here are two very interesting questions for the investigative journalists out there:
1. Does Harper himself have any Western Ukrainian roots? Considering how passionately and eagerly he is acting in this case, it seems likely.
2. Even if this isn’t so, he must show to his electorate that he’s tough. What is Harper’s electorate? Did Harper get political contributions from the Ukrainian lobby/organizations in Canada? He may be working off the money he received from his electorate, and I bet those who specialize in Canadian politics will find that a chunk of his political contributions comes from the Western Ukrainian lobby in his country.
Finally! As always, follow the money and you’ll know the truth. Both Canada and USA are actively engaged in #fracking, or hydraulic fracturing – a very harmful to Earth and nature procedure to extract natural gas. Canada’s fracking is probably even more invasive than USA’s, with huge potential consequences to the country’s nature and its future. USA/Canada are engaged in a global campaign to sell fracking as panacea for those countries that rely on natural gas exports.
To remind: Russia is the world’s largest natural gas exporter. Russia also announced that they emphatically ban fracking as the barbaric method of gas extraction.
Ukraine receives the majority of their gas from Russia. Ukraine’s debt to Russia for gas now exceeds $2bln, and it keeps growing by day, while Ukraine is broke. Actually, Ukraine’s overall debt to Russia is at least $16 bln (by some estimates $36bln), depending on whether Russia decides to press for it or not. But this is a separate story which I’ll discuss in another article.
Recently, with USA’s and Canada’s financing, technology and direct participation, Ukraine started fracking to decrease dependence on Russian gas. For Ukraine this could undermine their entire way of life. Ukrainian black soils, chernozem, are considered the richest and most productive in the world. Prized chernozem soils exist only in south-western parts of Russia and in parts of Ukraine. Fracking threatens to poison these soils and further destroy the disastrously mismanaged Ukrainian agriculture.
Citizens of New York State, where I used to live, have for years succeeded in keeping the fracking vultures out of state. Read my article here. Ohio recently announced a state-wide moratorium on fracking after the state started registering the increasing number of quakes. But look what fracking has done to Pennsylvania and Texas! It poisoned their lands and created daily tremors and earthquakes.
Profit-driven fracking companies are looking for new ways to make money as citizens in the USA start saying no. If they can’t frack freely in North America, they have to go international. This is Harper’s secret goal – securing more fracking contracts. And if they can hurt Russian financial interests in the process – they would consider that a wonderful side-effect.
Consequently, Stephen Harper’s interest in Ukraine is more than just political. He surely is there to sign more fracking deals. Meanwhile, Ukraine is being designated as their cannon fodder.
Ukraine Part 7: Russia’s Geopolitics, USA’s Bluff and EU’s Big Mistake
Announcement:
On Friday, March 7, 2014 I will be on the Time Monk Radio’s show PLANE TRUTH. We will be talking in detail about the situation in Ukraine, Russia’s role, USA/EU, geopolitics and my predictions.
The interview is here: The Road to Moscow Goes Through Kiev
Latest news: #G7 countries have announced a suspension of preparations for the #G8 meeting that was supposed to be held in #Sochi in June. #USA and #EU also announced they would be imposing sanctions on #Russia for “invading” their own naval base in #Crimea, protecting Russia’s own fleet and millions of Russians that were openly threatened by the #nazis taking over #Kiev.
Those who came here late, may read my prior posts with thorough analysis and video proofs of what is really happening in Ukraine. Particularly Part 4: Nazi coup succeeds. At the bottom of this post also find a link to: Dr. Paul Craig Roberts’ analysis of the Western media double standards and lies regarding Crimea and Ukraine. Also there is a link to the new leaked conversation between EU Foreign Minister and Estonian Foreign minister in which it is revealed that the snipers EU tries to pin on Yanukovich that shot demonstrators and police in Kiev were hired by the opposition.
The above news and their implications I want to discuss in this piece. However, before we start, I want to point out one of many obvious insanities of the US and EU, which will eventually result in a big problem for both. Note: in the Western news this was not reported at all, or it was twisted to appear that black was white and vice versa. Read the rest of this entry
Striking Geopolitical Parallels: Georgian War – Beijing2008 and Ukraine – Sochi2014
Announcement: On Friday, March 7, 2014 I will be on the Time Monk Radio’s show PLANE TRUTH. We will be talking in detail about the situation in Ukraine, Russia’s role, USA/EU, geopolitics and my predictions.
Find the interview here
The events in Ukraine are developing with such speed that I can’t write articles fast enough. Three days ago I said that I was planning a new article about the striking similarities of the situation during #Beijing2008 and #Sochi2014. As many would recall, during the Beijing Summer Games opening ceremony it became known that #Georgia in Caucasus had attacked a small breakaway republic of #SouthOssetia, killing in the process several Russian peacekeepers and shelling the sleeping city. #Russia responded and for four days there was something that Russia considered a small “peacekeeping operation” but what was dubbed dramatically in the West a “Georgia-Russian war.”
The striking similarities between the two situations were clear to me from the beginning. I started writing the article, which I intended to finish on weekend. By the time I sat down to finish it, some of the events I was planning on predicting in my article already took place.
Latest developments: 1. The Crimean Autonomous Republic declared that they didn’t take orders from Kiev. In a stunning show of direct democracy a 20 thousand strong crowd gathered on the main square and voted out the Kiev-installed president, voting in the new pro-Russian president. 2. Crimea also announced a referendum on whether to secede from Ukraine to occur on the day of the presidential elections in May. After Kiev militants tried to attack Interior Ministry building in the capital of Crimea, Simferopol, the referendum date was moved forward to March 30. As a result of this referendum, Crimea is certain to secede from Ukraine. 3. Russian Duma just voted unanimously to send troops to Crimea to ensure stability and peace in the region and to protect Russian population and Russian Fleet. 4. In response, Ukrainian authorities announced that they would blockade Crimea and do everything to prevent the vacationers of reaching Crimea during the beach season. Of course, vacation industry is the largest industry in Crimea. 5. Nazis Yarosh and another one, whose name I don’t recall, are now in charge of the security forces in Ukraine. While the nominal leader of Ukraine is US/EU stooge Yatseniuk, the real power and authority in Kiev and western Ukraine are the Kalashnikov-wielding nazis. 6. Oh, and this is especially adorable: Ukrainian nazis announced that in 6 months they plan to make Ukraine a nuclear state. Not a word from US or EU – looks like they believe it’s a good idea. After all, the Ukrainian nazis are pussy cats, unlike the aggressive Iran! Watch a nazi leader attacking and threatening prosecutor. They are wonderful, peaceful European nazis. How adorable indeed!
More news: A day or two ago, we found out that IMF and EU offered the new government of Ukraine a package of $20 bln. Washington has offered additional $1bln in “pro-reform aid.” Note: USA’s neocon Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria #Nuland admitted in December to USA spending $5.5bln on subverting Ukraine and preparing for the coup (more in Part 1). But to aid Ukraine’s stabilization after the coup they only have $1bln. Meanwhile, the new Ukraine government insists they need $35bln to avoid bankruptcy.
So, here is the spread: EU had NO money to give Yanukovich when he was supposed to sign the EU association agreement. All EU offered in exchange for Yanukovich surrendering his country’s independence and destroying its industry was an insulting $600 mln, citing economic difficulties in Europe. IF EU really wanted Yanukovich to sign that worthless EU association agreement, wouldn’t they have come up with at least a decent amount? They knew back then, as they know now, that the country was in pre-bankruptcy state and that in 2013 it asked for a $20bln loan. So, why did they offer such a laughable amount?
The answer is simple, they never intended for Yanukovich to sign the EU association agreement. If they are able to come up with $20bln + 1 right now, what has changed between now and then? If they wanted Ukraine to be a part of the EU sphere of influence as they were stating all along, then why not give Yanukovich a carrot? Why so obviously insult him? The answer is simple: so he would NOT sign the EU association agreement. That agreement was un-signable – it was never meant to be signed. Instead, it was meant to be rejected, which was supposed to lead to the coup d’etat based on “popular uprising” of “peaceful” protestors armed to their teeth with automatic weapons while Russia was preoccupied with Sochi Olympics. The protesting students, grannies and other local dupes were just a convenient decoration. Their role was to convince the world that this was indeed a public protest, while the nazi thugs were doing what they were trained and hired to do.
This is a very clear proof that I was right and that the EU association agreement was a set up. In Part 2 and Part 3 of this series I said that the signing of the EU association agreement was timed precisely before the Sochi Olympics so Russia would not be able to interfere for fear of boycott and US/UK disrupting the Olympics in which they had invested so much. The EU association agreement red herring was necessary to start the coup d’etat, while Russia’s hands were tied.
This scenario is nothing new. Similar events happened time and again since Gorbachev came to power, as well as before him, and I could recite quite a few of them. However, we don’t have to look too deep into history. Let’s just take a look at something as recent as 2008 #BeijingOlympics. When put in perspective, it becomes exceedingly clear who and why started the so-called “Georgian war” to coincide precisely with the opening ceremony of the Beijing Games. On the night of August 8, 2008, Georgian army suddenly attacked the sleeping breakaway republic of South Ossetia and the Russian peacekeepers on the border. The similarities between Sochi 2014 – Ukraine and Beijing 2008 – Georgia are apparent.
Let’s examine the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics – Georgian “war”
Shortly before Georgian president Saakashvili ordered attack on South Ossetia, Condoleezza Rice gave him a visit. By giving the green light for the Georgian attack of South Ossetia, US was pursuing several goals:
1. Take the spotlight away from the Beijing Games and try to distract Chinese organizers. Basically, your run of the mill sabotage.
2. Put a wedge between China and Russia. It was possible that the Chinese would take an insult at Russia for conducting military activity during the first and only Chinese Olympic games, in which China invested so much (the cost was the official $40bln). US tried to mess with Chinese minds here. Thankfully, both Russians and Chinese understood what games were being played and a rift US was hoping for, never occurred. Instead, Russian-Chinese relationship kept getting stronger.
3.  It was a test for the Russian armed forces. US wanted to see their readiness.
4. It was a test for Russian leadership – how decisive will they be? Particularly, it was a provocation against Dmitry Medvedev, who just recently became Russia’s president and who was seen as a very soft man.
5. If Russia got stuck in Georgia, or, if anything at all went wrong, there would be a wealth of opportunities to malign and attack Russia for ages.
6. Regardless of the outcome, it was a fabulous opportunity to start a global anti-Russian media campaign. This campaign succeeded for at least a year.
The war: it took Russia several hours to defeat the American and Israeli trained, financed and armed to the teeth Georgian army. It took Russia 4 days to conclude the “almost war” with Georgia. In that timeframe, Russian troops made a brief, incision-like excursion into Georgian territory. The result was the destruction of the AMERICAN military bases, airfields and military port in Poti, which received and stored AMERICAN tanks, planes and other equipment.
It also resulted in a huge black eye for the US who, in their perpetual arrogance, could not believe Russians would dare to destroy THEIR property. Clearly, they never learn.
Why did US maintain bases and military equipment on Georgian territory you ask? In 2008, the US was preparing the invasion of #Iran; Georgia, with its bought-and-paid-for puppet president #Saakashvili was designated as USA’s unsinkable carrier for the Iran attack. That’s why US financed so lavishly this tiny country with no economy to speak of. It was necessary to buy up the entire population of the unsinkable carrier.
If you look at the map, Georgian territory is located within strikingly small distance of Iran. It was the most convenient place you could find in all of Eurasia in order to launch an attack against Iran. Americans and Israelis renovated the port of Poti, also, they built roads, bases and infrastructure, in order to accommodate a large influx of American forces once the invasion of Iran started in earnest. Iran invasion was being prepared for later in 2008 or 2009.
What happened during Condi Rice visit to Georgia? Two scenarios are possible: One: Condi actually gave green light to Saakashvili to test Russian troops readiness to respond before going into Iran. A litmus test, so to speak. The question that needed answering was: should we, or should we not, expect any trouble from Russians when we go into Iran? Two: Condi encouraged, or somehow hinted Saakashvili that he could go and retake the breakaway South Ossetia, assuring him that US would be behind him and that Russia would not respond. Whether Condi played Saakashvili, or gave him direct order – which scenario is more true only those who were there would know.
Either way, USA and Georgia believed that Russia’s response to their provocation would be weak. Their intelligence was telling them that Russian army was unprepared, poorly organized and equipped, that in fact it never got past the destructive tendencies of the 1990s. How wrong they were!
I recall a conversation I recently had with one of my readers, who was skeptical as to what Russia could possibly do to stop the invasion of the West into east Ukraine and Crimea. Here is what I said: “One of Russia’s strengths, always underestimated by the West and all invaders, is its incredible ability to rise from the ashes. It is because of this ability that Russia gets out of crises much faster than anyone predicts. This ability is why phoenix (Russian Firebird) is considered such a powerful symbol.”
So Russia, the country that has undoubtedly one of the best intelligences in the world, knew what USA was up to on Georgian territory. After unsuccessful Georgian invasion attempt into South Ossetia, Russia took the opportunity to go in and “clean up” American military bases. They neatly destroyed the bases, infrastructure built by Americans, and the Poti military port. Saakashvili, per reports, was trembling expecting Russian tanks to roll into the capital Tbilisi any moment. At that point, having done what they came for, Russian army neatly withdrew back to South Ossetia, announcing that they have recognized South Ossetian, and by association, Abkhazian independence, and that they would station Russian troops on South Ossetian territory to prevent the possibility of future invasions by Georgia.
Western press was predictably howling for over a year, photos and reports were falsified daily depicting suffering of innocent Georgian bystanders – read hired actors, who were painted with red paint signifying blood and who were dying from non-existent wounds. Those who remember those days, may recall that Saakashvili was on CNN, NBC, Fox, BBC 24/7 giving interviews, blaming Russia for attacking poor, little, defenceless Georgia, for destroying the city of Poti and killing its population. In fact, there were no civilian casualties in Georgia proper. However, Georgians left quite a few dead bodies in South Ossetia, including those of Russian peacekeepers. Lots of staged photos were used with ONE (!) apartment building full of bullet holes. Falsified photos were submitted to the UN, World Tribunal in Hague and other organizations. Photo after photo, they showed the same actors pretending to be wounded and killed in different poses and in different places. They apparently would die, then resurrect, walk to another spot and die again. The job was so shoddy that the UN and other organizations had to throw out these bogus complaints.
Despite the fact that Russians submitted undeniable proof of the Georgian attack and it became clear who the real perpetrators were, the witch hunt against Russia in the Western press only died down after a year or two. That’s when Russia finally got fed up and organized RT – Russia Today, which in a short couple of years became the most watched news channel on YouTube, easily bypassing all the CNNs and BBCs of the world. I was sickened by the overt lies and rusophobic witch hunt in the US media. As a volunteer, I participated in the informal pilot group that did initial work on rt.com forum to help shape RT as it is today. One of my suggestions that they took to heart was that Russia finally needed to stop being reactive; it needed to stop just responding and meekly explaining things every time they were attacked by Western media. I told them that it was by far the worst place to be. Instead, they needed to become proactive in promotion of their worldview and their point of view. I am happy to say that RT has developed very nicely and that the approach I proposed played a major role in their success.
As we well know, after the 2008 Russian incursion into Georgia, US was never able to invade Iran – and it wasn’t for the lack of trying. They were given a very clear message that it wouldn’t work.
Now let’s look at the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 – Ukraine
Just like in Beijing, before and during #Sochi it was hoped Russia would do something stupid, or at least get distracted/ broadsided by #Ukraine events. The Ukraine show was also designed to overshadow and steal the spotlight from the Sochi Games.
Moreover, it has to be understood that Ukraine is not just Russia’s closest neighbor; in fact, Russians regard Ukrainians as their brothers/sisters, and many consider themselves one people. Ukrainians read the same books and watch same TV shows as Russians. Millions of Ukrainians work in Russia as guest workers because they cannot find jobs within their own country and because they get paid much more in Russia. The mutual economical and cultural penetration is very, very deep. Therefore, just like in the Georgian war of 2008, when US was hoping to put a wedge between China and Russia, the Urkaine 2014 scenario was supposed to create animosity and distrust between the two extremely close, brotherly peoples!
I can tell you that they partially succeded, aided by EU and Poland. Unfortunately, there is distrust and animosity that was artificially created in the past 20 years of anti-Russian propaganda in Ukraine, especially on the Ukrainian side. However, Russian leadership, many Russians and Ukrainians, just like in the case of China, see through the lies.
My prediction: long term this isn’t going to work because cultural/ethnic ties eventually will win over  – after all, blood is thicker than any propaganda, so to speak. In the process, the myopic US/EU are creating a future trouble for themselves. When enough people in Ukraine understand that they had been duped by Western propaganda, this will invariably give rise to the US/EU hatred and backlash. So, congrats, US/EU! As they say in Russia: don’t dig a grave for someone else – you’ll end up in it yourself. More about Ukraine and Russia ties below.
Now that the coup d’etat was accomplished on time – a day before the end of the Sochi Olympics, the question became: what will Russia do? Again, voices sounding from different corners of the Western spectrum declared that Russia wouldn’t do anything because Russia was weak. This reminds me of the walking-dead senator #McCain saying: “I guarantee Russia won’t intervene if USA invades #Syria.”
I wonder who guaranteed #Obama that Russia wouldn’t do anything in Ukraine? Must be McCain. Obviously, US, and EU as their poodle, are replaying the 2008 Georgia scenario, albeit this time, with much higher stakes. Ukraine is much closer to Russia – geographically, economically and culturally. There is a huge Russian population in Ukraine. By some estimates, up to 70% of people there consider themselves Russian, and up to 90% speak Russian on daily basis. So, the split is not 50-50 between Russian and Ukrainian parts, as is always portrayed in the Western media – the percentage of the Russian population is much higher.
Just like Georgia during Soviet times, Ukraine was an artificially slapped together entity that never existed as a successful independent state. South Ossetia and Abkhazia were “given” to Georgia over objections of its population by #Stalin – a native Georgian. East and south were given to Ukraine by #Lenin, while Crimea was “gifted” illegally to Ukraine by #Khrushchev – a native Ukrainian. Of course, none of them in their worst nightmare could imagine that the country that was united for many years would one day split up. This came as a nasty shock to all of the Russian speaking population of Ukraine as well.
So, the similarities are obvious: both Ukraine and Georgia are artificial entities that couldn’t stay intact as independent states outside of Russia;  the Olympics; Western media war on Russia; using proxies; bought-and-paid-for army (Georgia) or militants (Ukraine); falsification of documents and vilifying Russia; testing Russian leaders resolve and preparedness of its army, trying to put a wedge and/or create animosity between Russia/Georgia and Russia/China in 2008 and Russia/Ukraine and Russia/EU in 2014, and so on.
It has to be noted that the additional side-effect of the active EU/Germany participation in Ukraine’s subversion and coup resulted in a damage to the very important relations between EU, and especially #Germany, and Russia. This was done also by design, to prevent EU/Germany and Russia from getting closer. It doesn’t help that the EU and German leadership are not what I’d call intelligent. Unlike China in 2008, gullible EU/Germany took the bait and swallowed the hook in the process. This is a very important issue and I will write a separate article about that.
Another amazing similarity is that US and their allies are just as badly informed and grossly unprepared to deal with the fallout of the monster they had created. And just as short-sighted as before. They really never learn!
I have said in previous posts that Russia possesses a plethora of peaceful and QUIET means of dealing with the problem in Ukraine, and they will use them all. I also said that Russia would never allow the base of the Russian Fleet in Crimea to fall into the hands of the nazis, NATO, US and EU. Russia will also do what’s necessary to protect Russians living in Ukraine.
As we already know, the Russian Duma has voted to send “stabilization troops” to Ukraine. Their mandate starts immediately.
Incidentally, Ukrainian de-facto nazi government (because #Yatseniuk and others are stooges with no real power), called on #Chechen terrorist Doku #Umarov to start terror against Russia. Doku Umarov is the best friend of #westernUkraine #nazis. These nazis helped Doku fight against Russian troops in #Chechnya as it turns out. Umarov is Russia’s most wanted for mass murder, extortion and terrorism, who was responsible for the bombings in Russian Metro and airport. (Incidentally, in my thriller Gold Train (Accidental Spy Russia Adventure), which you can find on Amazon and BN, I write about Chechen terrorists. Action in the book includes the tragic bombing scenes and the intelligence work to prevent more of these from happening.)
Now, does  all this mean there will be a war between Russia and Ukraine? What will US do? How far will Russia go? I realize that I am at a disadvantage here as the situation is changing very quickly, and by the time I publish this post, there may be news that I don’t know yet.
However, I will try to present my opinion based on everything we know:
1. As I pointed out in my previous post, US and EU simply cannot afford a direct confrontation with Russia, period! Moreover, if US tries to send American troops to Ukraine, in my opinion, their own people and their own army will rebel. I keep hearing from various people on social media that the US army is fed up with its reckless and myopic leaders. EU has much less capability to confront Russia, and for them it would mean suicide, plain and simple. This will never happen. Of course, the howling in the Western press will go on forever and Russia will be vilified for as long as possible – again.
2. Will Ukraine try to send troops to Crimea or eastern Ukraine? It is possible. However, Ukrainian army is not very good, nor is it significant. Plus it is demoralized after recent events. Will they take orders from the nazis? Doubtful. Of course, western Ukraine nazis themselves are EXTREMELY well-trained thanks to US/EU financing and training in western Ukraine camps – similar to Al Qaeda training camps. However, they cannot leave Kiev because by the time they get back, they may be surprised by a big change there. Besides, they may be heroes against police that was given orders not to defend themselves, but they would not be able to go against Russian Army.
Crimean peninsula is almost an island and is very difficult to get into. Because of the tiny sliver of land connecting it to mainland, it is easy to defend and not that easy to cross over. Instead, they could use ships, but the Russian Fleet is right there. In any event, should there be a confrontation with Ukrainian forces of any sort, it is likely to end the same way as the Georgian conflict 2008.
As we know, the result of the Georgian conflict was that South Ossetia and Abkhazia seceded permanently from Georgia. After several years of difficult relations, Georgia and Russia are now slowly getting back to more normal and friendly relations. Saakashvili was voted out of the office and the new government, while still pro-Western, is friendlier to Russia. My prediction: eventually, Russia/Georgia relations will normalize even more, although it will be a delicate process. But Georgia will never get South Ossetia and Abkhazia back. Who won and who lost here, what do you think?
Now, let’s see what’s likely to occur in Ukraine’s case. Ukraine will permanently lose Crimea (it is already lost to them, in fact). I said previously that Russian government’s preference has been not to split up Ukraine. However, if Ukrainian government continues provoking conflict with the Russian-speaking population, Russian government will act to protect it. Ukraine may also lose Donbass, or possibly the entire eastern Ukraine.
Will it also lose southern Ukraine? Very possibly. According to the Russian-Ukrainian analyst Anatoly Vasserman (who’s from Odessa), Odessa, as the main city in the south, manages to keep nazis from Kiev out. Demonstrations pro-unification with Russia and against maidan have been actively happening there. Will they act to assert their autonomy? Odessans are lovers and traders, not fighters; however, if they feel threatened or under attack as happened during Word War II, they can rise to the occasion marvelously. I grew up in Odessa as my readers may know. For more about that, read here.  Also read my mini-series: Odessa, The Pearl of the Black Sea.
Another important wild card is this breaking news: pro-Russian governor of Kharkov, Ukraine’s second largest city, has resigned his post and announced that he’s running for Ukraine’s president in May 2014. The elections will probably be heavily rigged. However, the very fact of him running signals that Russia is still trying to keep most of Ukraine together. I’ll explain: in case of even semi-decent elections, he has a good chance of winning as all Russian-speaking population will vote for him, and that’s the majority!
So, As I said in previous posts, Russia is still buying time, while using a multi-prong strategy in Ukraine. If however, it becomes obvious that the Russian-speaking candidate has no way of winning the presidential election due to falsifications and to perhaps intimidation by nazis, then Russia will act to help the population of the east to determine its future accordingly.
I continue thinking that Russia will use a whole system of influences – both carrots and sticks, to stabilize this region that is so important to Russia. They have certain leverage with the EU, and it will be used as well.
As a result of this very delicate and very volatile situation, Russia will emerge stronger and Ukraine will lose part of its territory that didn’t belong to it in the first place.
The imbecilism of #Washington is such that they have again started a game they simply cannot win. Just like in Georgia 2008 example, or like in Syria 2013, they will again end up with an egg on their face, and it will be there for the whole world to see.
Prediction: Generally, #Putin / #Lavrov can run circles around #Obama / #Kerry, therefore, time is on Russia’s side as they will simply watch US/EU bury themselves deeper and deeper, like in #Afghanistan and #Iraq. Then, US/EU will be required to clean up the mess they had created. In the end, the chess match that Russia never asked for will end in Putin/Lavrov/Russia’s favor.
P.S. 1. Let’s hope that one day Europe’s people and politicians grasp that they are being played and that their future is with Russia, not against it. And hopefully, they will get it sooner rather than later. 2. Let us also hope that US/EU stupidity has limits and the real war can be prevented.
What is Really Happening in Ukraine? Part 5: US, EU, Civil War and Bankruptcy
I stated in Part 2 that #US and #EU had to hurry to violently remove Yanukovich from power while Russia was busy with the #SochiOlympics. They succeeded too well. And this is the result they have achieved so far:
1. Ukraine is having trouble forming transitional government after illegal overthrow of the previous government and president, as the main opposition leaders, boxer #Klitchko and Yulia #Tymoshenko, decline participation in this government.
2. To paraphrase George Bush: What does democracy have to do with any of this?
Western #Ukraine neo-nazi #RigthSector leader, #Yarosh, who wants to eliminate and deport all NON-UKRAINIANS (read: Russians and Jews) is tipped for a position of vice-Minister of Interior, in other words, in charge of police and judiciary.  He qualifies just fine: after all, he is very good at handling machine guns and for years he’d trained his militants in western Ukraine’s neo-nazi training camps. These camps were financed by the $5 bln US had spent on subverting Ukraine, and by undisclosed sums from #Brussels as well as certain EU countries individually. US interference and expenditure in Ukraine was admitted by Victoria #Nuland at Press Club in December, 2013. Also, listen to leaked Victoria Nuland conversation re. USA role in Ukraine.
