Flashback! Bush – Blair Collusion on Regime Change in Iraq One Year Before Invasion… and Thoughts
Flashback! Bush – Blair Collusion on Regime Change in Iraq One Year Before Invasion
Not that it’s a shocking bit of news for anyone who is in the know (this certainly includes my readers), but it’s still noteworthy from the following standpoint: something that you and I have known for a long time is finally making its way into the Western mainstream media.
Imagine that! They are really, really slow (not to mention corrupt) – isn’t it why so many people are turning away from Western MSM? However, the very fact that this is coming to the spotlight in the mainstream is a good sign.
The truth will continue surfacing throughout this decade and next, and deliberately distorted history will slowly but surely continue being righted. Humanity needs to go through the cleansing and karmic re-balancing. There really isn’t any way around it; this is the only way for human civilization to shed its past and move forward.
~~~~~~
These are two reports from RT, truly the only trustworthy English-speaking MSM our there. RT is a new, revolutionary wave of the MSM. It is an alternative MSM for the truth-seekers and it also has Russian, Spanish, Arabic and other language news. (I have various RT links on my RESOURCES page for your convenience).
RT: News of leaked memos indicating that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair had already agreed to work with the George W. Bush Administration on the invasion of Iraq long before it began has been less than a shock to many people. Stephen Zunes, a major critic of the Bush administration and professor of politics and international studies at the University of San Francisco, offers his view as to why public reaction has been so tepid and what the invasion was really about.
RT: Leaked memos show that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair was fully onboard with the George W. Bush administration with regard to the invasion of Iraq a full year before the war began. Manila Chan speaks with investigative journalist Russ Baker about the fallout from this leak and how policy leading to the invasion developed during the run up to the war.
~~~~~~~
So, it’s in the mainstream. The Bush – Blair Collusion on Regime Change in Iraq took place at least one year before Iraq invasion – and I would say much earlier than that!
It was done with participation and full knowledge of then US Secretary of State, Gen. Colin Powell, who afterwords tried to convince the UN that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, while parading fake proofs and equally fake maps. Colin Powell later said he was duped and mislead into thinking the proof was real, which lead him to deliver that fake UN speech. With these new revelations, it is confirmed what was long-suspected: Powell lied to everyone’s face when he said he didn’t know proofs were fake. The scandal led him eventually to resign and withdraw his presidential candidacy, costing him his highly cherished reputation and removal from public life.
I was somewhat familiar with Colin Powell – in the late ’90s I happened to work in Princeton with some of his associates. Incidentally, one of his people, who spent six months in the former Yugoslavia as a monitor during the civil war and subsequent US/EU bombing campaign, had admitted to me in a private conversation that what he saw on the ground and what US press and US government were saying had been two completely different things.
At the time, all the blame for war and atrocities in the former Yugoslavia was put 100% on Serbs. ‘The bad Serbs’ propaganda was necessary for Yugoslavia, the last remaining independent state in Europe, to be torn apart in the attempt to weaken and destroy Serbia. Even the core Serbian lands, such as Kosovo and Chernogoria (called in the West Montenegro) were taken away from them.
The reality I witnessed, had confided in me Colin Powell’s associate, was that they all had historic grudges against each other. They all were equally responsible for violence.
I knew all this very well, having grown up in Southern Europe and in the Slavic world. The long-brewing, but kept under the lid by the unified socialistic Yugoslavia, historic grudges ran deep. I knew why, how and when all those grudges came to be. For centuries Russia periodically played peacemaker in the region. It was in many ways similar to the atmosphere in Caucasus and all this was common knowledge where I came from. But convincing Americans of this was impossible in the 1990s. When I tried to write articles explaining the real situation, they were ALL rejected by any American MSM I attempted sending them to.
Alas, there was no Internet, no blogs and no websites in the 1990s. We were all held hostage to whatever agenda and lies they wanted to impose on us. In the ’90s I quickly got disenchanted with Western papers, magazines and TV and unsubscribed of all print, disconnecting cable TV by 2003.
I can’t stress enough how incredibly important it is to always keep a balanced perspective on things! Ironically, we have to be grateful primarily to the same USA for the mainstream Internet, YouTube, search engines and blogging platforms, such as WordPress. The Internet revolution became the Great Equalizer of the 21 Century, which allowed us all to read/watch/search for the truth, regardless of where we lived and what propaganda our local MSM imposed on us.
This fantastic breakthrough allowed people like myself, who had a lot of knowledge and truth to share, but who were shut up by MSM and existing prejudices, a platform to say what we wanted to say.
This is where USA, UK, as well all of the Anglo-American world, shine:
They can accomplish wonders when it’s necessary to turn something into a mainstream application, making it workable for the huge masses of people. This is a real, honest to goodness talent and contribution of the Anglo-American civilization to the human world.
If only they could learn to stick to using this god-given talent for good, instead of evil!
Actually, I think the fact that Western MSM is now losing readership/viewership daily is a well-deserved poetic justice and the long-earned karma in action.
Unless Western MSM of all breeds and colorings reinvent themselves, they will become extinct. The only way for them to reinvent themselves is to start telling the truth. But who are we kidding: those who control them can’t accept the truth… yet. One day they may be forced to, in order to survive. But it may be too late for what at this point in history we still refer to as ‘Western MSM.’
Incidentally, the truth about what really went on in Yugoslavia never came out of Colin Powell’s camp, despite their knowledge. Powell was at the time considered a war hero and a highly respected man of integrity. He had the people’s ear and he had infinitely more platform to make the truth heard than I did. It’s possible that if he shared with the world what his monitors knew about Yugoslavia, Serbian bombings wouldn’t have happened. Or at least, it would have been much more difficult to push them through without full public support.
That same ‘honorable’ Colin Powell saw it fit to spew lies to the UN later, when he became the US Secretary of State. For those who still have any illusions: this demonstrates very well who is in power in the US, no matter what party it is. It was true then and it’s true now. The same is true for the UK, with Blair in focus.
In the beginning of 2003 Colin Powell shook that fake proof at the UN and ardently tried to convince everyone that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and that Iraq harbored Al Qaeda. Living in the US, I heard a lot of talk calling ‘to fu*k those UN, Russia, China and Germany’ (does that remind you of Nuland and her “fu*k EU outburst?). As a lot of those ‘American patriots’ put it, ‘let our boys go in and do their thing.’
The truth is that the US population at large fully supported Iraq invasion, considering their country exceptional, one and only beacon of democracy, and existing to do as they pleased without any regard for others’ needs or opinions. Hitler and his version of Germany once thought the same.
I recall that time very well – it was the time I woke up completely and shed any remaining illusions as to what kind of country I was living in. US continued attempting to sell Afghanistan and Iraq invasions as ‘one bundle purchase,’ using the pretext of the 9/11 as justification.
The world swallowed the earlier Afghanistan invasion, being still in shock after 9/11. People all over the world sympathised with the US, and this normal human sympathy in the wake of what was believed to be a terrible and unjustified tragedy inflicted by outside forces on the unsuspecting America, was exploited by the US to do their dirty bidding.
But the world drew the line at Iraq. UN Security Council members Russia and China vetoed US request to authorize its strike against Iraq. US faced strong resistance from allies: Germany, France and Middle Eastern countries. US began Iraq invasion anyway, fully supported by UK, Poland, (former Soviet republic of) Georgia and the ‘coalition of the willing’ consisting of everyone else whose arm US/UK were able to twist into submission.
We soon started finding out that Powell’s ‘proofs’ were fake, that 9/11 was an inside job and that US/UK harbored a long-term plan of invading and dismembering at least seven Middle Eastern states, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Iran and Syria. We all know what happened to Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. We also know why Iran and Syria are still surviving: because Russia has protected them.
There is always a seed of defeat in every victory and a seed of victory in every defeat. US thought it got away with murder.
But the US invasion of Iraq and the lies accompanying it, marked the beginning of a new era. It is the era of the all-encompassing Earth Shift of all geopolitical, societal and economic structures. It is the era of the awakening and coming to terms with the truth. Their lies woke up those people who refused to continue accepting the official Western propaganga, who began digging for and telling the truth through alternative sources, trying to awaken others.
This era, which we are living today, is the global revolutionary time, when everything old, outmoded, and un-truthful is swept away. The old will morph into something new and different, some countries will change borders and even names. New alliances will be formed and old will die off. A new social, financial and economic system will emerge. And with that, USA will lose much of today’s clout and power.

Is Erdogan Trying to Recreate Ottoman Empire?
Could we perhaps have your take on the following quote from the last part of Assad’s interview?
President Erdogan belongs intellectually to the Muslim Brotherhood. Consequently, he believes that, if the situation changed in Syria, Egypt, and Iraq, it means the creation of a new sultanate; not an Ottoman sultanate this time, but a sultanate for the Brotherhood extending from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and ruled by Erdogan.
Lada’s Take
(see more posts in Ask Lada category)
First thing we all have to keep in mind is that Assad and Erdogan are personal enemies. They hate each other for a variety of reasons. They belong to very different branches of Islam. They represent diverging directions of the Middle Eastern tradition and thought. In everything they do they feel they get in each other’s way.
Turkey and Erdogan have behaved very un-neighborly towards Syria, and it’s understandable that Syrian leader has a grudge against Erdogan.
Turkey in fact is presently fighting a war on several fronts. That includes the internal war with the opposition fed by the West. Syria and Assad’s situation is very difficult, but Erdogan cannot be envied either.
All this is part of the huge karmic opening of old wounds and the beginning of the shift in the Middle East. There is no corner of the globe where the Earth Shift will not be felt, in some places more, in some less. It all depends on how much work the people of a specific region or country have done in the past to clean up their house. Some countries have gone in the past through some very hard, and at times, excruciating work to change their situation. Countries like that include China, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Other countries may have kept their house in relative order. Switzerland is one example. Such countries will go through the Earth Shift with relative ease.
However, the countries that failed to address their problems, simply sweeping them under the rug, will have to deal with a lot of turmoil. Such example is Ukraine. Many countries of the Middle East are also good examples.
The problems of the Middle East are magnified by the local rivalries, lack of acceptance of another’s point of view, and religious intolerance.
Therefore, while Assad himself may believe adamantly what he says, anything he says about Erdogan and Turkey has to be taken with a grain of salt.
This is not to say he is wrong.
But Assad, for one, is brewing in this soup of local rivalries, which often makes it hard, if not impossible, to see a bigger picture. And two, Assad remains a very experienced politician. Knowing his big interview with the Russian media would receive a wide international resonance, he obviously tried to stack the cards to his advantage.
Remember we had talked about targeted info dumps? This is one. More about it: Learn to Tell a Hoax from Targeted Info Dump. It’s not a hoax, but it’s a targeted and manipulated in a certain way message meant for specific audience.
Although this interview is given to the Russian media, the message isn’t necessarily meant for Russia, although I’m certain some Russian Middle East specialists are paying attention. But Russia is firmly in Assad’s corner.
It is meant mostly for the EU and some of the Middle Eastern countries, such as Egypt – the largest military power in the Middle East, which often provides the stabilizing element. Egypt powers that be also have a very serious beef with Muslim Brotherhood. The message is also possibly meant for Saudis and Israelis. Iran and Syria are likely on the same page, but it is a reminder for Iran as well. This info dump is meant to scare the recipients into making sure Turkey and Erdogan don’t gain more power. Basically, this is something that will make different powers work together on curbing Turkey’s ambitions.
Assad desperately needs Turkey to weaken. Turkey, together with US, has been training Syrian opposition militants and has been helping any force, including ISIL, that fights the Syrian government. Turkey has been sabotaging the Kurdish attempts to fight ISIL as well. The Kurds, spread around several Middle Eastern countries, want to reunite and demand their own state. They are perceived by Erdogan as a big problem. Therefore, anything Kurds do becomes automatically at odds with what Erdogan wants done.
The entire Middle Eastern scene is extremely convoluted and entangled. It’s simply brimming with controversy and confusion. Sometimes it looks like a war of all against everyone. In the geopolitical arena anyone is regarded with great distrust and suspicion and alliances change on a whim.
Erdogan is put in a very precarious position. Elections are coming. At the same time, Turkey has been housing 2 million Syrian refugees. These are the refugees that Erdogan is now delivering to the border with Greece and sending off to Europe.
Meanwhile, Turkey is trying to quell internal conflict that keeps flaring up. This conflict has its historic roots inside the country, in part because of Erdogan’s stance on Syria and Kurds. The Kurds themselves constantly remind Erdogan they want independence. But the internal conflict has outside sponsors. It flared up and spread after Erdogan and Putin agreed on Turkish Stream. The idea of these well-known outside forces is to create so much instability in Turkey that Turkish Stream would become impossible.
Turkey’s geopolitical position has always been considered super-valuable. But at this time of extreme Earth Shift, it is also a very precarious position, open to all the winds. Erdogan, both because of his policies and because of his geopolitical realities, is finding himself without allies. He gets criticised and attacked from all directions. As I said, he is fighting a war on several fronts.
For several centuries, the Ottoman Empire dominated the Middle East. People still remember that. They certainly don’t want the Turkish-based dominance back. This adds to the suspicion of Turkey. Under such circumstances Erdogan has to look for any sort of affinities and allies wherever he can find them.
There are several powers vying for the dominance in the Middle East: these are Turkey, Iran and Egypt, plus, Saudi Arabia. Saudis are the richest in the Middle East, and they still have the stigma of being USA’s ally, therefore being percieved as being supported by powerful sponsors, whether it’s true any more, or not. Saudis are good at political games, but their army, while very well equipped, isn’t good at fighting. They still have a lot of pull. Israel also has to be factored in, although it’s a different story.
Turkey and Erdogan do dream of dominating the Middle East. Does Erdogan want to increase his influence and re-create the old Ottoman empire in some form? Yes, to a degree, he does. But not necessarily the way Assad portrays it. For one I don’t know if Muslim Brotherhood is that likely to appoint Erdogan their leader, surrendering their power to him. Why would they? They exist as a set structure, with their own chain of command. The most they can do is agree on some sort of alliance.
But more than anything, Turkey wants to be a world player, be accepted on the world stage. Regardless of how Erdogan feels about Muslim Brotherhood, he is a politician first and foremost. In order to be a regional player, Turkey needs to have solid ties with EU, Russia and at least some of the key Middle Eastern countries. Erdogan is trying, but for him it’s one step forward and two backward. Erdogan, by some of his actions, has put himself in a way of confrontation and isolation. This will not create more influence for Turkey, just the opposite.
At the same time, Turkey’s geopolitical location is very important. Turkey is needed as a player, and as a factor. This is the desire of all major powers, including US, EU, Russia and China, because Turkey serves as a counterweight and a balancing factor in the region. But no one will allow Turkey to become a dominant force in the Middle East. Neither Russia, EU or US, nor the aforementioned Middle East players can afford that.
Therefore, it really is inconsequential whether Erdogan is or isn’t an intellectual ally of Muslim Brotherhood. Because of its very special geopolitical position Turkey serves as a bridge between East and West, but doesn’t control much of either.
Such situation suits all super-powers. Turkey is very valuable as a somewhat strong bridge-country, but not too strong. Turkey can do pin pricks to remind of its presence and to demand attention, such as interfering in Syria, sending refugees to the EU, delaying Turkish Stream, or pretending they won’t let US ships into the Black Sea. In the end Turkey always plays ball because that’s the extent of Turkey’s leash.
As a consequence, Turkey’s politics can only work within a certain narrow corridor. Turkish leader who doesn’t stay within this corridor, will not survive. Erdogan has tried to expand this corridor by conducting his own policies. It wasn’t very successful and he has reached the end of his leash.
There is another reason Erdogan is trying to align himself with someone – anyone. The Middle East is changing rapidly. The borders are still being held in place due to the 1945 agreements between USSR, US and UK. However, soon the borders in the Middle East and some other world regions will start crumbling as the new reality emerges.
ISIL, Muslim Brotherhood and dozens, if not hundreds, of other formations that are mushrooming in the Middle East try to grab as much land as they can. The states try to defend their borders, while at the same time attempt to grab what they can as well. Erdogan simply has to stay in the game because in that reality it’s eat or be eaten. He has to play the aggressive game of expansion, or his country will be contracting. He also has to account for contingencies.
This is beyond Erdogan and Turkey’s long-cherished imperial ambitions – it is the reality of survival. This kind of situation exists in some other regions of the world as well.
On different levels – be it social, financial, political or military – this scenario of rapid change and struggle to keep control of the situation is something facing now the majority of countries. Welcome to the Earth Shift!
Therefore, take with a grain of salt what anyone in the Middle East says. Again, this is not to say that Assad isn’t right. He says what he feels is true from his perspective. The entanglements of this region of the world are such that everyone is pulling the blanket onto themselves, touting their own agenda as the only correct one.
But the world leaders such as Putin need to be well above this regional fight; global geopolitical thinking is required. Russia is well-positioned to play a pacifying and balancing role in the Middle East. In fact, it’s the only country that can accomplish this feat.
More breaking stuff:
More news from the Middle East and Syria are coming. Things are shifting fast. The US stance on Assad, Syria and on ISIL is cracking due to Russia’s skillful diplomacy and strides to create anti-ISIL coalition. The international pressure on the US is growing. Some of the biggest pressure is coming from the EU experiencing an unheard of refugee crisis.
Vladimir Putin coming to speak at the UN General Assembly in a week is also a part of the surprise change in the US position. Generally speaking, Putin’s speech at the UNGA has become quite a phenomenon, acquiring a life of its own before it even happened. Putin hasn’t dropped that bomb on New York yet, but the aftermath of the future event is already bearing consequences. I’ll have more on all the developments this week and next. Stay tuned!
This is an interesting related bit, demonstrating just how successfully Russia has made strides in shaping up a coalition on Syria:

Earth Isn’t Enough – Now US Wants to Own the Moon!
US arrogance overload!
US companies are preparing to staking their claims on the Moon, building colonies and mining for resources. Several corporations have openly stated their intentions and are making plans, but a 1967 UN treaty governing the celestial body may complicate their endeavors.
The FAA just issued a letter to commercial enterprise Bigelow Aerospace giving them exclusive rights to territory on the moon. This partly complies with the 1967 United Nations Outer Space Treaty and partly flies in the face of it. Either way, the letter marks an important turning point for all of humanity: the space race is back on, and it’s realer than ever.
World Beware! What is Really Behind Angela Merkel’s Subservience to the US?
I have repeatedly warned last year about the strange and incongruent position of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in regards to various issues, from NSA surveilance and the return of the German gold, to sanctions against Russia. In all situations, Merkel took position that was submissive to the US and directly contrary to the interests of her own country. In the old days, that would be called treason.
The German newspapers have been circulating rumors that the reason for Merkel’s position is the fact that she aims to become the new Secretary General of the UN. In 2016 Ban Ki Moon’s term expires and the next GenSec has to be a European. However, it is very well known that the only way a UN GenSec can be elected, let alone survive in this post, is when she is approved and in good graces with the USA.
As I wrote previously, there is more to the story than meets the eye and Merkel is also pathologically anti-Russian (something she has been hiding well throughout her life), as well as utterly compromised by NSA. However, the UN GenSec position for serving as a loyal US lapdog is a great reward. US puppets always tend to be rewarded lavishly as long as they toe the line.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a prime demonstration of the unprecedented corruption of the Western system, of utter lack of democracy and complete disregard for any laws and common decency – something both US and EU so love to point out in others.
Merkel has proven that she doesn’t want to retire and that she craves more power. As you will see below, she is being quietly, but insistently, exposed and pushed out of the German power structures. But that’s okay with her as the US is offering her a bigger prize in exchange for subservience and closing her eyes to blatant US abuses in the EU, Ukraine, Russia and Germany itself.
Related report in Russian: Эксперт: Ангела Меркель может идти на поводу у США, чтобы получить пост генсека ООН
As an afterthought: UN has become a completely corrupt and irrelevant organization. The sooner it is replaced, the better. However, this will only happen after the US empire is weakened sufficiently. And of course, the headquarters had better be moved from New York, somewhere far and away.
Related: US puppet, Ukrainian PM Arseny Yatsenyuk, a few days ago went to Germany where he gave an interview to Germany’s #1 TV channel ARD. In the interview Yatsenyuk said verbatim that: “Russia attacked and invaded both Ukraine and Germany.”
Merkel’s reaction? NO COMMENT!
Эксперт: Из-за высказываний Яценюка о Второй мировой войне Меркель оказалась в неловком положенииby RT на русском52,083 views. Merkel has been put in a difficult position when Yatsenyuk announced that it was the USSR that attacked Nazi Germany. If Yatsenyuk is trying to gain support and sympathy in Germany this way, all this will achieve is the opposite effect as Germans know very well that the German Nazis attacked the USSR.
This is from The Voice of Germany I referenced previously: Germany must exit NATO and enter a union with Russia. 12/14 German author Peter Feist, interview to Quer-Denken.TV: “German government is acting contrary to German interests, including risking heat in our people’s homes during harsh winter, just to please the US. We have to regain our sovereignty, which we are losing fast. German government has made deals and is celebrating open nazis in Ukraine who are parading with swastikas around Kiev.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s Straight Talk at UNGA
Lavrov for UN Secretary General!
Maybe then UN will finally start doing its job! Unfortunately, after the collapse of the USSR, UN, just like so many countries on the planet, has become a US lapdog.
No one has monopoly on truth – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at UNGA 2014:
The US-led Western block rejects the principle of the equality of sovereign states secured by the UN Charter while advocating democracy in the international arena, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressing the UNGA. READ MORE: http://on.rt.com/qfreu4
If you have trouble hearing the translation: these things do happen as simultaneous translation is a very complicated and delicate thing – believe me, I know. If you follow the link to RT you’ll find a transcript of the main points of Lavrov’s speech, as well as other UNGA speeches.
Below, I have re-posted this transcript, along with my additional explanations and thoughts.
This is the video of full Lavrov’s speech in Russian.
Here is also additional commentary in English on RT America.
Lavrov’s full speech with simultaneous English translation. Note, this is a new version with improved sound!
Lada’s notes: since some complain about the sound, below I am also posting the abbreviated transcript from RT.com.
What the summary below doesn’t mention: Lavrov also talked about the new gruesome discovery of mass graves of the Donbass civilians left behind after the Kiev junta army’s retreat. Many of those killed and dumped in mass graves bear torture marks. Lavrov has demanded proper international investigation into the war crimes and crimes against humanity being committed in Ukraine, including bombings, kidnappings and killings in Donbass and elsewhere, the May 2 burning of people alive in Odessa, MH17 flight downing, and shootings on Kiev maidan.
It is amazing how silent US and EU MSM and politicians are about the new mass grave discovery, although it’s being investigated by OSCE!
I am preparing a brand new post about war crimes and atrocities committed in Ukraine, with inside info and predictions as to where all this is going.
Abbreviated transcript from RT
The US-led Western block rejects the principle of the equality of sovereign states secured by the UN Charter while advocating democracy in the international arena, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressing the UNGA.
“The US-led Western alliance, while acting as an advocate of democracy, rule of law and human rights in individual countries, is acting in the international arena from the opposite position, rejecting the democratic principle of the sovereign right of states enshrined in the UN Charter and trying to decide for others what is good and what is bad,” Lavrov said at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday.
The Russian foreign minister elaborated that there was an “increasingly obvious contradiction between the need for collective action by partners to produce proper responses to common challenges and some countries’ drive for dominance and revival of the archaic bloc mentality based on barrack-like discipline and flawed ‘us and them’ logic”.
Lavrov added that Russia was willing to compromise and ready to balance interests only based on mutual respect and if the dialogue is “honest, respectful and equal”.
According to the minister the “policy of ultimatums, the philosophy of superiority and domination” run counter to the needs of the 21st century, including the formation of a “polycentric and democratic world order”.
Lavrov stressed that the creation of new dividing lines is unacceptable in Europe saying that “no one has a monopoly on the truth” and no one can customize global and regional processes to “suit their needs.”
Joint efforts can only be built on the principles of mutual respect and mutual consideration of interests, as it is done in the framework of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), G20 or the UN Security Council, said Lavrov.
The results of such efforts can be seen in the positive progress of the Iranian nuclear program and the successful completion of the destruction of the Syrian chemical weapons stockpile.
According to Lavrov, the examples “to follow” are the Minsk agreements dated September 5 and 19 which presented a roadmap on the ways out of the Ukrainian crisis and set a compromise on the date of Ukraine’s EU association agreement coming into force.
He said Russia had consistently called for “harmonizing” integration projects in Europe and Eurasia.
“The agreement on political benchmarks and timelines of such a ‘convergence of integrations’ would become a real contribution to the work of the OSCE on the topic of ‘Helsinki+40’.”
“Another crucial area of this work would be to launch pragmatic discussions free of ideology on politico-military architecture in the Euro-Atlantic, so that not only NATO and CSTO members but all the countries of the region including Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia enjoy equal and indivisible security and not have to make a false choice of: ‘either with us or against us’,” Lavrov added.
READ MORE: War and Peace (& Economic Terror): 9 highlights from the 69th UNGA
The Western bloc has taken a course of “vertical structuring of humanity” according to its standards, said Lavrov describing the latter as “far from harmless”.
“Proclaiming victory in the Cold War and the onset of ‘history’s end’ the US and the EU committed to expanding their geopolitical space without balancing the legitimate interests of all the peoples of Europe.”

Vladimir Putin’s Message: Part 2
This is continuation of Post 1 – read it here.
Reposted from Lada Ray Blog:
Someone has told me that they avoid politics on their blog because it invites controversy and confrontation. Couldn’t agree more. That’s why I only post anything geopolitical when I have no choice and when I feel I MUST advise and educate people. And sure enough, the moment I mention Putin and Russia, accusations begin – no surprises.
I care profoundly about peace on our planet. This post isn’t about politics – it is about trying to keep humanity alive and well, and hopefully moving towards a more reasonable future for all. If there is World War III, believe me, no other little opinions, faults or squirmishes would matter. Everyone would be dead equally.
This post is not an invitation for an equal opportunity politician bashing either; it’s not about “Cameron of UK is bad, Obama is bad, but Putin isn’t any better” competition.
Avoiding war is the biggest priority by far on planet Earth right now until we know we have peace. The very least people could do is acknowledge and thank the country that brought peace to the world continuously, including during World War II, and who averted World War III just recently through smart diplomacy. Russia is the only country that can effectively stand up for peace against imperialistic aggression. Putin is the only leader who has the guts and intelligence to stand up to the US war machine and who can win without fighting. In this environment, Russia- and Putin-bashing because “he isn’t a saint” is counterproductive to say the least. In fact, it’s shortsighted and in bad taste. It’s akin to sawing off the tree branch you sit on.
Compare what Russia is doing with what Western governments are up to, like starting multiple wars willy-nilly, citing their “national interests” on the other side of the globe. Comparisons should be pretty clear. But no – the way it stands right now, Russians could be giving out presents to orphans at Christmas and still be made look bad!
Let’s wake up, people, and check out our own backyard!
By the way, a new round of Syria war escalation is being presently started by the US. This time, they try to enlist as many small countries via UN as possible, who are dependent on US handouts, to see if they can restart the war process via UN and via “proving” through UN inspections that Assad – not rebels – used chemical weapons.
Hint: It’s easy to manipulate the UN General Assembly as it’s located on US territory. UN Headquarters are located in New York, USA; US finances most of the UN budget with $$ it prints incessantly, while destroying it’s own currency and exporting inflation to other countries. This strategy works for the time being, but not for long! Lots of handouts and “presents,” as well as intimidation and other pressure is applied to small members, and to European countries + Japan and S. Korea, to get them to vote a specific way. I used to believe in the UN, but UN is no longer a viable international body – sadly.
Russia and Putin may have averted the disaster, but much more work is to be done as the US warmongers are trying to re-escalate the conflict.

RIP Ambassador Vitaly Churkin
Oh, no!! Vitalij Churkin, Russia’s celebrated ambassador to UN “suddenly died” in New York, the day before his 65th birthday!
Nemo1024 | February 20, 2017 at 1:41 pm It may be an emotional reaction to such an enormous loss, but I see a lot of comments on the Russian internet comment-sphere, where people express disbelief that this was a natural death, and that there’s been an uncanny increase in the death rate of Russian foreign diplomats and public figures.
