Colonial Leftover: Which three countries still use inches, pounds, gallons, miles and Fahrenheit?

Colonial leftover: only three countries still use inches, pounds, gallons, miles. Even the original colonial power itself, the United Kingdom, parted with outdated ‘Imperial’ units of measure…

Guess, which three countries didn’t? They are: Liberia, Myanmar (Burma), and the United States of America. The rest of the world is metric.

  3. For some reason, unconsciously, I also think of Britain as a non-metric country, even though I know that it uses a metric system…

Some good news from https://cont.ws/@ishchenko/560938 (Video there is in Russian)

“To accelerate human, social and cultural integration, the Integration Committee ‘Russia — Donbass’ has been founded in Crimea.

It is designed as a permanent social structure. The first meeting was attended by the heads of the Peninsula, representatives of other subjects of the Federation, heads of the DPR and LPR, as well as known experts and scientists.

The parties discussed joint projects in various fields and developed the work plan for the year. Before the end of 2017 it is expected to hold several meetings of the integration Committee both on the territory of Russia and on the self-proclaimed republics. It is planned to discuss topics of economic, social and humanitarian cooperation of the Russian Federation and Donbass.”

Another ship has finally started sailing home.

  4. Lada,

What is your take on Israel? Now, that Bibi could not gobble up more Syrian territory as he wanted by helping ISIS in order to distabalize Syria, Iraq and Iran?
