  2. Hi Lada, just want to warn your readers, there’s a new virus scam going around that affects WP blogs and Chrome Browser. Whatever you do, don’t click on the update button if you see this screen, it’s a trap to hijack ur computer and demand money – RANSOMWARE!

    Read this ASAP:

    • Thanks for the warning! There’s been altogether too many ransomwares floating around lately! The best way of defending oneself, apart from not clicking suspicious links and having a trusted anti-virus installed, is to always have an off-line up-to-date backup of all you data, preferably 2 or 3 generations of it. It’ must be off-line! If ransomware hits you, and garbles your working data, you can still shrug it off, and restore everything from the backup.

      • That’s a great option, to have a work related computer that’s totally offline. Yes it’s a bit inconvenient, but worth the trouble.
My online computer has Reboot Restore Rx 2.1 installed. A neat little program that automatically resets to your desired baseline settings after every reboot. Even if ransonware slips by, just reboot and everything resets to it’s pristine baseline state. Operates underneath windows so it’s not affected by crashed or infected OS.
Best of all it’s free, not shareware, nothing to buy:

Sandboxie, Webroot Secure Anywhere, Malwarebytes Anti-exploit are excellent tools as well.

        Highly recommended!
