  1. I have just finished the second and third segments of webinar 9. What a ride so far! As before, I have a few comments and musings.

My grandmother on the maternal line was from Altai Krai, and from her stories, I can gather that her family line lived there for at least three generations – or as far back as the end of 1700s. Thanks, Lada for pointing out the connection of Krais with Cossacks – who knows, I may have some Cossack blood in me. 🙂 There is one thing that my grandmother used to say when she could not find something, a lost or misplaced thing. She’d say that it “provalilas’ v tartarary” – literally “fell into Tartatia”. Makes one wonder…

When it comes to the Tatar-Mongol invasion hoax, I remembered reading the following article (in Russian), which in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek manner presents further proof of the hoax.

    https://cont.ws/@sevariga/534471

In short, it looks at the supposed size of the “horde”, how many horses they would need, a typical consumption of hay by a horse, the length of the Ryazan campaign during winter, and mathematically comes to the conclusion that it would have been impossible to provide for all those horses if the “horde” did indeed find place. The article also looks at the logistic of providing such a supposedly large invading force with weapons and other gear.

And another thing… You mention the devolved condition of the Mongol State now, as opposed to its might and prowess during the supposed Tatar-Mongol hoard, saying that it would be a unique occurrence in history of such a devolution. However, one other such very recent devolution comes to mind – the US Moon program! After the supposed flight to the Moon, the US could not build a heavy-lifting rocket engine, lost all blueprints and know-how, and could not even build a copy of the Russian engines after being provided with the blueprints and the production rights (on the cheap!) during the 90’s. One could say that such inexplicable sudden devolutions are indicative of hoaxes.

And finally, about the name of China vs. the Russian name “Kitai”. I immediately though of “Kitai-gorod” (would be “China-town” if translated directly) that is the central part of Moscow since the 16th century. There is no definite indication of the name’s origin, but the ones listed on Wikipedia go from being English-originated, through Turkik, to Tatar, but none indicating any connection to the “Kitai”, that in modern Russian means “China”. I suspect another linguistic nightmare here.

    • We discuss Kitay-Gorod more in ESW10. I translate it as Kitay-City (not ‘Town’) with more jaw-dropping forbidden history implications – hold your thought till you listen.
