Lada Ray #VictoryDay 2017 special. 1943 US film with exceedingly rare for the West truthful and positive portrayal of Russia. This film is now posted on Lada Ray Channel.
This film was made in 1943 on direct orders of Roosevelt, who was trying to convince USA elites to enter WWII in Europe against Fascist Germany and its allies, in response to repeated pleas by Stalin during 1941-43 era, when the help of allies was truly needed. US finally entered WWII in 1944, after Red Army liberated all or most of its territory, when the next objective became taking over Berlin and squashing fascism in its bunker, and when it became clear that the USSR could win the war all by itself.

Very interesting and informative for most people. It t was a reminder of the many films I saw during those days as a young boy, but most of those movies showed war against Germany in Africa, Western Europe, and the Atlantic Ocean and war against Japan in the Pacific. I knew many who went through those times, including the bereaved and those captured prisoner. However, it must be stated that what Russia went through was far greater than what we endured. Through it all, Russians fought for their homeland, not Stalin and not Communism. And Tchaikovsky had to be inspired long ago in composition of his fifth and sixth symphonies, especially the sixth, to meet the troubles of Russia in the last century. To join millions of others in misuse of that vegetable, the onion, let me refer to the many layers that need to be peeled back to reveal hidden causes of our troubles from t h economic present back into the past. The causes included and include today the hidden dark powers that play nation against nation and people against people, with some wars justifiable, many others not.
