There are many layers of lies in the propaganda Nancy described in her comment, which the US was spinning at the time. I bet no one ever mentioned in US history books or MSM that in fact the Japanese army and the Japanese Empire as a whole capitulated not because of the US bombing, but because Russians, not Americans, were at the time delivering a crushing defeat to Japan’s Quantung Army. This was also known as the Manchurian Strategic Operation, 9-20 of August, 1945.

Russian army is quickly and very efficiently modernizing. While the quantity of Russian fighter jets, battle ships, missiles, defence systems and tanks is well below that of the US army, the quality, as recognized by global experts far exceeds the US and NATO armaments. The quantities are growing too.
The problem is that US and NATO have been actively trying to drag Russia into the new arms race, much like the one that began during Cold War and that nearly bankrupted the USSR in 1980s, undoubtedly contributing to its ultimate demise. Part of the arms race was a ruse, concocted by the CIA — it was the so-called ‘Star Wars doctrine,’ which existed only on paper. The USSR believed this deception and had spent more money than it had to protect itself from the non-existent threat.
The contemporary Russia has learned the Soviet lessons very well and is determined not to fall for it again. The US attempts aren’t working this time. As the US under Trump keeps growing its military budget ($700 bln in 2018 vs. $600 bln last year), Russian military budget has shrunk compared to last year’s. It is presently less than 1/10th of the American.
This tells us that the efficiency and economy of the Russian military budget is very high and that Russia will not allow herself to be drawn into a new arms race.
Russia also possesses a very large and impressive reserve of secret weapons and cutting-edge new gen defence tech, some of which are being developed and many are still shelved and awaiting their time. Some of the super-advanced 4D electronic defence weapons have been shown in the visually stunning documentary I translated for you as part of ESR4: ALIENT TECH & NEW RUSSIAN WEAPONS.

Three Seconds to Win ~ When Sport Was Honest (USSR-USA Gold Basketball, 1972 Olympics)

Recently we’ve discussed what the sport has turned into in the past 20 or so years: REPORT: Dirty Geopolitics of Olympics and Globalism – Will Russia Say NO and Start Alternative Games? In that report, of December 18, 2017, I said ‘Big sport, simply put, equals the following: big money, big business and big showbiz‘. There is no fairness and no hope of justice in sport at this time in our common reality. Pretty depressing, right?
For someone who grew up with the old ideals of sport it’s hard to watch the mockery and a farce it has become. But I really wanted to have something positive and hopeful with which to #Jumpstart2018, and I found this gem.
True, there may be different vantage points and different interpretations of various events, and there has always been politics and geopolitics present in any Big sport.
You hear me often talk about multidimensional truths and the fact that we are transitioning into 4D. This means that everything that was a norm in 3D is changing. I would hope though, that things like honesty, honor and common decency will remain. It saddens me greatly that in our day and age these solid old notions have almost been rendered obsolete and useless. But let me assure you, they will always remain crucially important in any dimension and in any reality.
You may not believe it, but there was a time when the Olympic sport was honest, at least it made an effort to be so. And it was at the height of the Cold War.
1972, Munich Summer Olympics. American basketball is the best in the world. In the previous 36 years the US basketball team never lost, and at that moment in history US has won 63 straight games in Olympic competitions. And no wonder. After all, basketball is an original American sport, invented by a US college professor 150 years ago, who tied two fruit baskets in a college court and offered a new sporting competition to his students.
Unexpectedly, the young Soviet basketball team makes it to the Munich Olympic finals, after beating top contenders such as Cuba, to play against the US team. Throughout the game, both USSR and US go neck to neck, at an early point the USSR even being well ahead. After that the USA gains most points back, and again both go head to head. The match is nearly over and the USA is one point ahead, after 2 penalty throws give it 2 extra points. The score is USA 50 — USSR 49. The Soviet coach takes timeout 3 seconds before the end of game.

Blast from the past: Russia US Enemy No. 1 — THE EARTH SHIFTER predictions materializing today!
A very timely reminder — prediction made years ago is manifesting today. This article includes Chapter 13 of my novel THE EARTH SHIFTER, never before published separately (you’ll be able to read it below). When I was writing it I made a prediction… in fact, there were a number of predictions and certain earth-shifting prophecies included in the book.
In the year 2017, as we are going through a new escalation of anti-Russian hysteria and anti-Russian sanctions in the US, I am recalling what I wrote in 2008 – 2009. My novel The Earth Shifter was released on Amazon in the end of 2012, right after December 21, 2012, the day Earth aligned with the Galactic Center. According to the ‘Mayan calendar’ and many ‘gurus’ the world was supposed to end on that date. Hysteria was overwhelming and many were fully expecting the end of the world before Christmas…
On January 11, 2012 I published Year 2012 Predictions on Lada Ray Blog. This was my first official public foray into global predictions and futurist trendcast. In the article I explained my predictive methodology and also said that 12/21/12 would be a non-event. Meanwhile, I said, the monumental changes were afoot in our world, but it would be a long-term process. Please go to original article from 1/11/12 to read exactly what was said about 12/21/12, and other predictions.
Right after the ‘end of the world’ failed to materialize on 12/21/12, the new EARTH SHIFT ERA began. In the end of December 2012 I released THE EARTH SHIFTER.
It took several years to write it from start to finish. I began slowly around 2008-2009, as the book’s general idea and main characters shaped up in my head. These characters were: Siberian Shaman Tengis, The Earth Shifter Sasha and her father Maxim, both residing in Moscow, and Chinese-American twins Kei and Win, who live in New York. The writing began with several chapters, written in one breath, and these chapters were little changed since. The entire book was built around those initial chapters, which were meant to frame the key points of future novel.
The chapters I am talking about are:
CHAPTER 1: 1908 EMERGENCY GATHERING OF THE EARTH KEEPERS TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS HUMAN CIVILIZATION DESERVES TO GO ON (mystical and historic, 1908)
CHAPTER 2: MEET SASHA, SHAMAN TENGIS AND SASHA’S FATHER MAXIM ON LAKE BAIKAL, SIBERIA (our time)
CHAPTER 3: HOW SASHA’S MIND AND TIME SHIFTING ABILITIES WERE DISCOVERED (our time)
CHAPTER 5: KEI AND WIN ON CANAL STREET, NYC. THE TWIN MYSTERY BEGINS: WHICH ONE IS THE SECOND HALF OF THE EARTH SHIFTER KEY? AND WHICH ONE POSSESSES THE COVETED SPACE AND MATTER SHIFTING ABILITIES? (our time)

During 2008-2009, as I wrote THE EARTH SHIFTER I tried to join some writing groups, and even paid some good money for online writing courses. When I attempted to read or submit online some of the above chapters for critique, at best I got blank stares, at worst — mean rebuffs. No one took what I wrote seriously.
In regards to Russia, a standard response was: ‘But Russian economy is just a tiny fraction of the US economy; Russia is in shambles after it lost Cold War. How can it be possibly taken seriously by the US?’ Compare that to what the same people may be saying now: “Russia is trying to take over the USA, even the US president is a Russian agent.”
I finally realized that I was casting my precious beads in front of you know who and stopped trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.
So much happened since… It may be hard to believe, but at the time (and we are talking only 6-9 years ago!) no one anywhere in the world appeared to be able to conceive that Russia would rebuild very quickly; that Russia would again become a force to be reckoned with; that Russia would successfully re-assert herself as the only power capable of stopping US aggression and rebalancing the world.

How to reinforce anti-Russian hysteria? “Hold on, Bro” — today’s video from NYC, where on Trump Tower a projection in English and Russian has appeared, implying that Putin supports Trump in his difficult situation, offering, among other things ‘money laundering services.’ The show is complete with fake troops marching to the Russian anthem and with the Russian flag:
To me it was absolutely clear starting in early 2000s that USA would toy with the idea of China as Enemy No. 1, and with radical Islamism as Enemy No. 1. But in the end the US will realize that after all, no one else makes the cut of its archenemy but Russia – The Great Balancer!

At the time I wrote THE EARTH SHIFTER, no one knew that the Great Earth Shift would be fully underway in just a few short years…
When Chapter 13 was written the world was very different, Russia was very different and US was different, too.
This particular excerpt had never been made available free before. Let’s see how I saw it at the time, and let’s see how closely it correlates with today’s developments!
There was a time when Aloysius Drakley was an American patriot. He was young and naïve, and very eager to advance to the top of the American power structure, which at the time signified to him the very pinnacle of worldly achievement. A relentlessly hard worker, he possessed sharp intellect coupled with a confident grasp of world events, and he moved quickly up the career ladder. His specialty—fighting Communism—was always en vogue.
There was a short hiccup in the 1990s, after Communism in Russia was abolished and the once mighty USSR fell apart, like an old, poorly constructed shoe. At that point, it seemed that there was no more enemy left to fight and since it lost its significance within the American power structure, the once indispensable CIA was left to fend for itself. It seemed Russia would never recover from the breakup blow, and therefore the CIA’s role became obsolete.
In the beginning of the new millennium, a new world power started emerging—the People’s Republic of China. The old CIA wolves rejoiced; again, there was a worthy enemy to fight! But it soon became clear that the USA couldn’t afford to fight the old Cold War game with its new competitor, what with China being America’s largest creditor, holding over a trillion dollars worth of the country’s debt, as well as being the manufacturer of the majority of the goods on the US market, necessary to feed the beast of American consumerism.
No, with China they had to tread softly, as stepping on too many Chinese toes could result in killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. The USA, with its staggering debt and dwindling economy could not allow that to happen. Of course, there were low-level spy scandals and the exchange of tough words with the Chinese on various occasions, but it was nothing like during the height of the Cold War. The CIA longed for the good old days, desperate to resurrect a reliable enemy. It seemed for a brief moment that the Muslims could be molded into one, but they turned out to be disappointingly disorganized, small-minded, and too easy to squash.
It was clear to all that the USA, this greatest of countries, has become the world’s only super-power. But as everyone in the US government rested on laurels, toasting to victory over its Cold War archenemy, something was happening in Russia. The new President of Russia was elected after Yeltsin left with a televised apology to his country for all of his mistakes. The new man’s name was Vladimir Dobrov, and he quietly, but purposefully, started turning the country around. Of course, it helped tremendously that Russia was sitting on the largest deposits of mineral wealth in the world, including over thirty percent of world’s natural gas and more oil than Saudi Arabia. By the year 2010, Russia looked nothing like the wreck of a country it was in the 1990s, and based on the latest intel, they were just warming up.
That’s when it was suddenly remembered that the only worthy geopolitical opponent the USA ever had was Russia. Who cared about ideology, which was really only an excuse! Communism, or no Communism, Russia, with its nuclear arsenal, newly modernized military, booming economy, third largest cash reserves in the world (after China and Japan), practically no debt, educated population, and independent policy, was the only real geopolitical threat!
It made no difference that they were not interested in the Cold War replay. Bottom line, the CIA, NATO and the Military-Industrial Complex needed a worthy enemy to fight, otherwise what would be left of their raison d’etre? Yes, the fight against the Number One Geopolitical Enemy was alive and well, and it was in fact the fight for their organizations’ survival.
But what if the American people didn’t want to get into this fight? They could be convinced, if need be. This had been done successfully before, and it could be done again.
And so, Drakley and his CIA buddies were back in business. The CIA once again became as important and powerful as it had been previously. On the surface, the stated objective of the agency’s activity was to fight global terrorism and “rogue” nations like Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria and North Korea, because all these countries “were developing nuclear weapons.” It didn’t matter that every time North Korea tested its rockets, they plunged into the sea, never reaching its target, or that Iraq had never had any nuclear program, or that Iran had no capacity to send its rockets (even if they had any nuclear devices) to any targets with proclaimed American “interests.” This was an excellent cover, and the gullible American public continued buying everything their politicians and media dumped on them without question. But those in the know had no doubt that the real geopolitical enemy was Russia—well, and of course, China as well.
Drakley went to Yale and, as many in his class, made a choice of going into politics straight after graduation. It wasn’t as important to excel academically as it was to know the right people. Connections were everything; favors were done for each other as a matter of course, and fully expected back.
One of his classmates was then Senator Steven Potts’s son, Justin. They were friendly, and Drakley definitely had to thank this friendship for his advancement within the ranks of the CIA. Drakley was already almost at the top, almost where he was convinced he belonged. He was just named the Assistant Director of the CIA, which put him in such close proximity to his ultimate life’s ambition that he could practically smell the supple brown leather of the executive chair in the CIA Director’s office.
His boss, this old weasel, was about to retire and move to Florida, or wherever these old geezers moved to die. Drakley was confident the chair of the CIA Director was his, when something changed. Steven Potts won the U.S. Presidential Election. He had one of the first meetings as President-elect of the United States with Drakley. He complimented him on his work; he told him how much he needed his talent on his side. And just when Drakley, who was basking in the light of the compliments, expected to hear the news of his promotion, the President dropped the bomb.
He was bypassing him for promotion; he had someone else in mind, and that someone else was his son, Justin—the nobody who didn’t serve a day in the CIA, the imbecile who hardly finished school, and who only got his graduation certificate thanks to daddy’s generous infusions into Yale University’s coffers.
Drakley swallowed the insult and made himself equally indispensable to both Pottses, Senior and Junior. He handled all of the CIA’s operations, as Justin Potts played golf with his buddies. He was the one conducting the White House daily briefings and, before long, he became the President’s trusted right hand. Or rather left hand, because all this was supposed to be happening in secret. No one was supposed to know who was really calling shots within the Administration, and Drakley was fine with that because he achieved his life’s ambition: unrivaled power over his country. Potts listened to him more than he listened to his Vice President, National Security Advisor, and Secretary of State put together. Drakley had become Potts’s shadow, his gray cardinal and puppeteer.
There seemed to be no greater power than Aloysius Drakley’s within the U.S. Government. Of course, very few people knew about the true extent of his reach, but he consoled himself with the fact that all those who mattered knew, and that was the most important thing. He congratulated himself on achieving his ultimate goal of being at the top, albeit not exactly as he had initially planned. At that point, it appeared that there was nothing left for him to achieve.
But that’s when it turned out that his entire understanding of world power constructs was worthless, that he in fact was a nobody. His disappointment was quickly replaced by euphoria because it was the day when he was approached by The Society. During the secret meeting, they told him they’d been watching his progress for a long time. They also explained that the USA wasn’t what he always thought it was. It was by no means the independent and proud country he’d imagined it to be. No, it was only a tool in The Society’s global dominance game.
The Society, as it turned out, was simply a group of exceptional men and women, who by virtue of their exalted birth, wealth, and talents concentrated great power in their hands. They were above any governments and they sought Ultimate Global Dominance. Why? Because they could. Because they were smart. They were better than the rest of the human worms, and therefore, deserved to be on top.
Drakley knew right away that that’s where he belonged. The Society included kings and queens, authoritarian heads of state, billionaires; in short, the planetary crème de la crème. And now he was one of them!
The Society had a very rigorous initiation program and a series of tests to prove that you were worthy. The most important of all the tests was to bring in a valuable piece of knowledge—so valuable and important that it affected the human race as a whole, and was the one that would advance The Society’s cause of Ultimate Global Dominance.
Drakley realized immediately what he just learned from Yuun Lin fit the bill perfectly. This was his contribution to the cause, which would propel him to the very top. As soon as the meeting with Yuun Lin was over, he knew that his next step was to visit The Society’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
At this point, Drakley still was a junior member, and as such, still on probation. He wasn’t privy to what was discussed during the highly coveted Inner Circle meetings. What he wanted more than anything in his life was to become a part of that Inner Circle, but that was extremely hard. He knew he had to play his cards exactly right. The information he was about to bring to the table was so exceptional, so precious, that he could use it as a bargaining chip to advance his position in The Society.
Drakley had his car take him to the Four Seasons Hotel, then he dismissed all his people. His decision was to stay in New York incognito in order to work out his next move.
Once alone, Drakley picked up his phone, which included a secret chip. Every member of The Society had a similar chip—the latest Swiss technology—installed in their phones. When the code only he knew was entered, the chip would switch on the call-protection device, which would filter the call to select a narrow-banded wavelength, thus cutting off all other wavelengths in the process. Therefore, even if his phone was being tapped, which was highly unlikely since he was the boss, no one but the call addressee would hear anything.
“I have a very important piece of information,” pronounced Drakley into the phone, “which can impact life on our planet as we know it. I request an urgent meeting with the Inner Circle.”
“You are only a junior member, Mr. Drakley. I am afraid it’s impossible,” replied a voice with a distinct German accent.
“Trust me, the exceptionally important information I possess fully warrants such a meeting.”
“Just like everyone else, you must describe all that in writing and the Circle will consider it at the next gathering.”
“I am afraid,” responded Drakley dryly, “what I have to offer cannot wait and cannot be put in writing. It is simply too valuable and too dangerous. I must insist on an urgent meeting. “Please wait,” responded the voice after a pause. “I’ll be right with you.”
There was a lengthy silence, which made Drakley nervously pace his hotel room, and then the voice said, “The Inner Circle has scheduled you for 9 p.m. Swiss time tomorrow. Don’t be late.”
Drakley caught the first flight to Geneva, and at 9 p.m. sharp, he was walking into a magnificent room located at The Society’s Swiss Headquarters.
He surveyed the place, noting a circle of mahogany armchairs with burgundy velvet cushions, which at the moment were filling in with the who’s who of the elite world. He took a deep breath, savoring his moment of triumph. His most impossible dreams were coming true as he was about to rub shoulders with the world’s secret movers and shakers, those who really made the world go round. These were the true power players and everyone else were mere pawns in their hands.
Drakley cleared his throat. “Ladies and Gentlemen,” he started importantly. “I am here today to tell you what I’ve just learned myself. This is truly and without exaggeration earth-shattering news!”
He told the Inner Circle assembly what he learned from Yuun Lin, adding that as the CIA Assistant Director, he alone was in a unique position to get close to the young man who would become The Society’s key to fulfilling the Ultimate Global Dominance doctrine. He explained his master plan: courting the young man in question, nurturing his talents and stroking his ego, until, as had happened to so many before, the young man would be so corrupted with perks and attention that he would forget right from wrong. And when the other half of the Key made contact, the same scenario would be applied again, until the Key was theirs in body, mind, and spirit. Then, they could use the formidable powers of the Key to advance their purposes, thus making the dream of Ultimate Global Dominance a reality.
He could tell that the assembly was duly impressed with his master plan, as after his report he was treated very differently. During a break, they shook his hand with big smiles on their normally dour faces, and it was clear as day that they were accepting him as their own.
After the first part of the assembly was over, Drakley prepared to leave, since his report was finished, his plan approved, and he wasn’t invited to the second part. But as he was about to exit the room, a tall man whose erect posture resembled a long, unyielding stick and whom CIA Assistant Director had never seen before, approached him with a request to stay. Drakley had a professional memory and he would’ve remembered these thin lips and a long, pedigreed nose.
The man, who was dressed in a gray three-piece suit, took an old-fashioned gold watch out of his vest pocket. “Part two of our meeting is about to start, Mr. Drakley. I believe you will find it rather beneficial to participate,” he said with an accent that screamed Eton and Cambridge.
Drakley nodded, hardly containing his excitement. “Of course,” he said calmly, as if he received such invitations every day.
“You may have heard about the man who shall be making his appearance in a couple of minutes,” the man in a gray suit went on. “His name is Boris Konukovsky, he is the CEO of NORUS, Russia’s largest oil company, and he is the second half of our two-prong Ultimate Global Dominance strategy. I believe it’s about time the two of you met.”

Here’s the thing, so you know how it works: percentage-wise Amazon pays pretty well for ebooks, but the pay is lousy for paperbacks. If you think I make more on paperback version than on ebook because it costs more, think again. Depending on the country of sale and the distributor through which the sale has occurred, I may get anywhere between $1.25 and $2.5 per each paperback sold. For ebooks it’s much better, considering the price of ebooks is also lower. The majority of my readers actually have been buying paperbacks. But if it’s all the same to you, I’d rather you purchased ebook versions of my novels for regular reading. Granted, it’s impossible to get rich off writing, or even make any sort of living, unless you are JK Rowling, Dan Brown or a Clinton. But still, it would be nice to get at least something.

In this regard, I am planning on switching to another publisher, which should, hopefully, pay more for paperbacks. There will be new second editions of each novel. I plan new covers, new sizing and formatting. But this takes a lot of work, and it probably will happen in the autumn into winter 2017-18. I’m planning on retiring Edition 1 for THE EARTH SHIFTER and my other books GOLD TRAIN and STEPFORD USA. As I do, I may be able to offer for sale signed collectors’ first edition paperbacks of all three novels to my FuturisTrendcast readers. The signed author paperback copies will be offered exclusively through me and they won’t be available anywhere else. I am hoping to be able to send signed first edition paperbacks to those interested around the world, but I’ll need to check into shipping charges.

At the same time, the Carlsen – Karjakin 2016 World Chess Championship is taking place in NYC. Already dubbed ‘the Chess Cold War,’ it has more geopolitical stories to tell than appears on the surface. By the way, I have a prediction regarding the outcome of this record-setting match.

Now They Are Just Showing Off! Russian Su-24 Jets Buzz USS Donald Cook Again in Baltic Sea
The infamous, long-suffering USS #DonaldCook got buzzed again – this time in Baltic Sea! Donald Cook has been snooping around 70 nautical miles off the coast of Kaliningrad, not too far from a Russian Baltic Navy base. On April 13, 2016 two unarmed Russian jets said hello by making 20 passes at an extremely low altitude, almost touching the water. They flew repeatedly right over and around the ill-famed American destroyer.
One notable thing: not by accident, this happened practically on the second anniversary of the first incident. On April 12, 2014 USS Donald Cook got buzzed 12 times by a single Russian Su-24, which didn’t carry any arms, except a mysterious device dubbed Khibiny. The electronic jamming device disabled ‘USS Donald Duck’s’ advanced AEGIS systems, causing panic on board and resulting in 27 sailors resigning commission.

4/13/16 Russian Su-24 jets buzz USS Donald Cook. The planes made 20 passes of the US Navy ship, according to US officials, passing within 1,000 yards at an altitude of just 100ft. The American ship had just left the Polish port of Gdynia and was in the Baltic Sea about 70 nautical miles off Kaliningrad.
This time there was no Khibiny involved. It was just a gentle reminder not to get too close to the Russian base. But the hysterics in NATO and Washington are deafening.
I have to point out why April 12 is significant. On April 12, 2016 we celebrated the 55th anniversary of the first man is Space. On April 12, 1961 Russian cosmonaut Yury Gagarin flew around earth’s orbit for 108 minutes, opening an era of human Space exploration. Buzzing ‘Donald Duck’ 12 times on April 12, 2014 in Black Sea near Crimea was a reminder of who was there first… and who was there for real. 😉
It appears this time the closest they could match that date was to say ‘hello’ on April 13 – one day after the 55th anniversary of Yury Gagarin’s virgin flight.
But the humor of the situation is lost on Washington and NATO. In response, they are calling for bigger military budgets for US and EU and for a bigger and better (you mean better than USS Donald Duck?!) US fleet in the EU.
New arms race, new cold war: the US-EU military-industrial complex is licking its lips and warmongers in Washington and Brussels can’t wait for their wet dream to come true. One might think US/NATO were just waiting for any excuse to expand their military budgets at taxpayers’ expense!

Putin’s New Ally: Pope Francis
Pope Francis: Catholic Church’s Pope, an ancient title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, in which capacity he is Sovereign ad vitam of the Vatican City State. Born: December 17, 1936 (age 78), Flores, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Full name: Pope Francis. Nationality: Argentine. Parents: Mario Jose Bergoglio, Regina Maria Sivori.
During his visit to Italy two days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Pope Francis at the Vatican. It has to be noted that, while the Pope is obviously not fooled about what’s happening in the world – undoubtedly, his Argentine roots play a role in his clear vision – Italy as a state also is trying to find a way to quietly mend relations with Russia outside of the EU. It’s interesting that Putin’s visit took place directly after the G7 bash in Germany, during which Merkel and Obama sang a lot of anti-Russian songs in-between of sips of banana-flavored beer (not kidding) and vowed more anti-Russian sanctions.
It is also happening against the backdrop of the US trying to sneak its mid-range nuclear missiles into the EU, targeting Russia, and many other ugly things that signal the fresh push for World War IV (WWIV because, in all truth, we should really consider the Cold War as WWIII). But more about that in another piece.
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s third meeting with Putin in the past year is a signal that Italy is attempting to distance itself from Germany and the US. Italy is obviously trying to wiggle its way out the crippling anti-Russian, and return Russian, sanctions. Italians have told me that Italian agriculture is hard hit by the quid pro quo sanctions.
At the same time, Italy is trying to revive its lucrative energy cooperation with Russia, which the US and its vassals in the EU are actively sabotaging. Italian energy companies have been working on deals with Russia since Berlusconi. The most important component of these deals was the direct supply of the Russian gas to Italy via the southern route, which was supposed to be accomplished via South Stream. The northern route – Nord Stream – was successfully and very quickly pushed through by Germany, utilizing the German clout in international affairs.
Italian clout isn’t nearly as substantial. Moreover (I wrote about that in the past), Berlusconi’s reputation with women notwithstanding, he was undoubtedly pushed out of his post because of his close relationship with Putin and ‘excessive’ friendliness towards Russia.
The Italian energy companies, first of all Eni, took a blow after US managed to sabotage South Stream and the project was closed. The new Turkish Stream project is needed like fresh air by many countries, but it is already running into significant difficulties due to sabotage from the same source. Pope Francis is another thing all together. Catholic church and the Vatican continue to hold a very substantial sway over worldly affairs, even if this soft power is invisible to most.
Francis’ interest in meeting with President Putin isn’t so much economics, although this issue concerns anyone who lives in Italy; while the Vatican is a separate state, it is, after all, geographically a part of Rome. Additionally, much of the Pope’s flock resides in Italy and surely, his people are well-aware of those farmers and shippers who are going bankrupt because of sanctions; they know of losses Italian energy and industrial companies are suffering.
Still the Pope’s main interest at this point is geopolitics and the diplomacy of peace. And that’s where it gets interesting.
During Putin and Pope’s behind-the-closed-doors visit, which lasted 50 minutes – longer than prescribed – Pope Francis gave Putin the “Angel of Peace” medal. This medal is said to have the ability to create peace and protection, as well as the solidarity among peoples. The choice of words is very interesting: a symbol – ‘talisman,’ ‘wish’ – of protection and peace is being given to Putin by the head of the Catholic church. ‘Solidarity’ is the word feared terribly in the US, but used broadly in socialist and left-leaning societies, including South America and Pope’s native Argentina. Pope Francis has also mentioned that the Bible addresses not just spiritual matters, but also geopolitics as one of the important aspects of human co-habitation. The above language of symbols and hints, typical for the Vatican, thus reflects an important message.
The US pressured (and by pressure I mean blackmailed, coerced and attacked in the media) Francis to take a tough line on Putin and condemn Russia. Meanwhile, the head of the so-called Greek-Catholic church of Ukraine archbishop Shevchuk criticised the Pope for meeting with Putin and urged him to shorten or cancel the meeting.
The Greek-Catholic church of Ukraine is something that was created in the 18-19th centuries, during a forceful Catholic conversion of the western Ukraine population – at the time under Catholic Poland and Austria-Hungary. It is in fact Catholicism disguised with a thin layer of Greek flavor (the words ‘Russian Orthodox’ were banished).
Since the 2014 Kiev maidan coup, Ukraine’s Greek-Catholics took a very violent posture against Russian Orthodox churches and priests, traditional for most of Ukraine. Many Orthodox churches in Donbass were destroyed by bombings or burned down and looted. Many priests and church-goers continue being threatened and humiliated. A large number of Orthodox churches all over Ukraine were forcibly taken away from the rightful owners and converted into Greek-Catholic ones.
Someone asked me last year, when all this was going on, whether Pope Francis was becoming a hidden ally of Russia. My reply was that the only thing Francis could do as far as Ukraine was to offer an olive branch and try to distance himself from what was happening in Ukraine. This is what he did.
The extreme violence and rage of the primarily Greek-Catholic element from western Ukraine isn’t something he can control. But after the violence finally calms down and the right people come to power in what is now Ukraine (recall my timeline: 2016 -2018), all the churches wrongly taken away from the Russian Orthodox church will be returned to the rightful owners. Let’s consider this one of my little predictions. Putin and Francis spoke behind the closed doors and the topics of their conversation were not disclosed. But knowing Putin, I am sure that he got a promise from the Pope that he would use his power to return the churches.
The Vatican continues being a powerful and deep-reaching conglomeration of various interests, from spiritual to financial and geopolitical. This is one of those entities that can subtly influence world opinion and serve as part of the diplomatic solution, when used for good. There are one billion Catholics in the world today. The power of the Catholic church stretches through Europe and Latin America, as well as many countries of Asia and Africa. Catholic influence in the US is not as significant and it is doubtful that Pope Francis would be able to talk any sense into the US ‘leadership.’ On the contrary, US has the audacity to admonish the Pope and read him lectures on how he should conduct his affairs. What else is new?
But it is out there for all to see that this Pope is different. Pope Francis clearly disagrees with the West and the US and he clearly prefers Putin. In fact, there is a talk of an unlikely alliance. Call it a soft-power diplomatic-spiritual alliance. Francis likes the fact that Putin has positioned himself as defender of Christians, who are under attack in Syria, Libya and elsewhere in the Middle East. Francis also took a pro-Assad and pro-Syrian government position against the US.
Pope Francis and all heads of the Catholic Church – as leaders of most other main religions – prefer Putin to Obama, or other Western leaders. The reason lies in Putin’s straightforward conservative values combined with his active stance in promoting religious tolerance, equality, friendship and cooperation between various religions. I hear the same from prominent leaders of Jewish and Muslim religions. Since most people on the planet are religious, this is something that endears Putin to many.
Pope Francis is undoubtedly anti-US hegemony, anti-Western imperialism and militarism. He has to be as diplomatic and possible, but the fact remains: this is certainly his Argentine roots talking. Based on the above, Putin and Francis hit it off pretty well.
But it goes deeper than that. I believe that it’s well beyond Pope Francis and his personal preferences, although it helps to have the right man at the helm.
The Vatican elites aren’t blind. They see where the wind is blowing – and it’s away from the US and West, towards the East. Call it abandoning the sinking ship of the West OR steering the Vatican ship into more promising waters…
The Vatican is re-orienting towards the East, Russia and China.
And the Vatican isn’t the only one. Israel is doing the same, and not just Israel.
But what about Putin? Oh, he plays his master chess as usual. I wrote in 2014 that Putin, with his out-of-this-world tireless productivity, circled the world and managed to glue together a network of various allies all over the globe. Sure, the US has the biggest and scariest army in the world; it also controls the world media and financial system. It can intimidate, bribe, blackmail or attack anyone. That’s why countries are afraid to speak up. But the future is behind the alliance that is forming quietly, and often secretly, behind the scenes.
Putin continues looking for new allies, quietly weaving together the new world, where the US won’t be hegemon. And now the Vatican is slowly but surely shifting towards this alliance.
Italy is the friendliest towards Russia out of all significant Western economies. The Vatican, located in the middle of Italy, is positioning itself for the future. The Pope’s friendly position towards Putin and Russia also reflects the opinion of the majority of Catholics in Italy, Spain, Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and all of Latin America, as well as Asia and Africa. And it’s not what Washington has hoped for.
An interesting confirmation of what I said from an unlikely source, CNN!
I really don’t read or watch CNN. But as I was looking for the Pope and Putin’s image online, this popped up: ‘Why only Putin could turn up late for meeting with the Pope’ – Link to article. Moscow (CNN):
“There aren’t many world leaders prepared to keep the Pope hanging around for a meeting. Russia’s President is perhaps the only one.
Pope Francis discovered this on Wednesday as he waited, patiently, for more than an hour at the Vatican for his guest to finally arrive. There aren’t many world leaders either who could annex one part of a neighboring country while backing a bloody rebellion in another part, and still avoid strong criticism from, arguably, the world’s most influential religious figure. Vladimir Putin appears to fall into that narrow category too.
The issue of Ukraine was raised, we’re told, during their brief, closed-door meeting. According to a Vatican statement, “The Holy Father affirmed that it is necessary to make a sincere and great effort to forge peace,” in the war-ravaged country. Pope Francis and Putin also agreed to “restore a climate of dialogue.”
But the exchange was not the condemnation called for by many, including members of the Greek Catholic congregation, who number millions in Ukraine, and who have expressed frustration at the Pope’s failure to criticize Russia’s role in the Ukraine conflict. Nor are the words likely to satisfy the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, Kenneth Hackett, who urged the Vatican, ahead of the Putin meeting, to “say more about concerns on territorial integrity” in Ukraine.
To be fair, the Vatican is not following the same diplomatic agenda as Western governments regarding Russia.
Hale goes on to suggest that Francis may play a diplomatic role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine too. But if Wednesday’s meeting was anything to go on, in which the Pontiff and the President exchanged gifts, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
No, that meeting was more about Putin than the Pope. Just a day after being publicly scolded by the world’s industrial powers, the G7 — including a particularly strong rebuke from U.S. President Barack Obama — Putin was shoulder to shoulder with the spiritual leader of 1 billion Roman Catholics worldwide.
Russia may not be quite so isolated after all.”

We are approaching the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory over German Nazism and associated invaders (also known in the Russian world as the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War), which will be celebrated in grand style on Moscow’s Red Square on May 9th, 2015. I thought it would be a terrific idea to do a few posts commemorating this date; in the future, I may do a separate piece presenting some of the most famous and amazing Russian songs and films. These reminders are especially important, considering how many out there are trying yet again to re-write history, something to which I don’t take kindly. I especially don’t appreciate the ungratefulness and arrogance of all those countries whom Russians and other peoples of the Soviet Union liberated in 1944-45 at the cost of 27 million lives, endless suffering, and destroyed country.
Sabotage by the leaders of US, UK, EU and associated countries of the celebrations in Moscow on May 9th; all manner of provocative statements by Poland, Ukraine and Baltics, together with their active re-animation of fascism – are beyond bad tone and beyond shameful.
And here is something else that should have been remembered, but was conveniently forgotten.
I noticed that some people in the West have a knee jerk reaction every time I mention anything to do with the USSR. What doesn’t occur to these people is that they have simply been pre-programmed by their propaganda machine to perceive anything to do with USSR or Russia as evil. The piece below will demonstrate how it was, and continues being, done.
Humans usually call those who submit too easily to someone’s will ‘lapdogs’ and ‘sheeple.’ Please, don’t insult the poor animals! Animals live in love and trust. Humans, on the other hand, submit out of apathy, hatred, fear, greed or other ulterior motive.
In addition, as you’ll see below, humans seem to have a goldfish memory. Let’s not insult the goldfish either – it should really be labeled ‘human memory’ since this is the only species that tends to conveniently forget. It is only humans who remember selectively when it suits them, developing sudden amnesia when it doesn’t.

When Hollywood Sent Its Scripts For Stalin’s Approval
Here is a remarkable list of films (in Russian and English) released by Hollywood during the period between 1942 and 1945:
“Дни Славы” – Days of Glory, 1944
“Миссия в Москву” – Mission To Moscow
“Северная Звезда” – The North Star (также известен под названием «Бронированная атака» aka, Armored Attack)
“Песня о России” – Song Of Russia, 1944
The story of these films is truly incredible and hard to imagine in view of today’s escalation of anti-Russian rhetoric and saber-rattling. After maligning the young Soviet Union for years since 1917, in 1941-42 Hollywood suddenly was charged with creating a positive PR campaign, in which Russia would be portrayed as a “nice country, with people just like Americans, who want to live in peace and who value their culture, music and art; who work hard and who also fight hard to defend their country.” All this was supposed to help “the war effort,” as expressed by the US President Franklin Roosevelt.
For this piece, I chose to talk about Days of Glory and Song of Russia.
Days of Glory was the debut of the Hollywood screen legend Gregory Peck (star of Roman Holiday, Cape Fear, Moby Dick; Best Actor Oscar for: To Kill the Mockingbird). In the movie, Comrade Peck plays the commander of the Soviet partisans (guerilla resistance) fighting against the Nazis. The video below presents several scenes from that film, along with the plot. The movie is pretty weak and full of clichés: partisans in the middle of a brutal war eat borscht from fine china and sit at a round dining table plucked from someone’s living room and placed in their spacious underground bunker; the man reprimanded for drinking responds with dismay that he is a stinking, dirty pig; the little girl addresses the ballerina, “You can’t cook, and you are a woman?” etc. The love story between Peck and the hungry ballerina, whose name is Nina and who just appears out of nowhere, is a little unrealistic as well.
But let’s just say… it’s the thought that counts. Despite all the weak links, the film conveys some very concrete ideas, such as: the Russian/Soviet partisans are good, humane people; they are the friends of the American people, who fight the fascists just like Americans do.

Plot: a famous orchestra director John Meredith arrives to Moscow on a tour. He meets Russian girl, Nadya, and falls in love. When John takes his new Russian friend to a restaurant, he is in a state of cognitive dissonance (7:54). Strange, he says, everyone’s having such a good time. Is that wrong? asks she. No, except I thought Russians were sad, melancholy people sitting around, brooding about their souls. When conflicted Nadya flees from John to her native village, Tchaikovskoye, John follows her there. He again meets a lot of nice, joyful people who love to sing and dance. Nadya’s father talks tenderly to his tractor that leaks oil, “don’t cry ‘golubchik’ (darling), I’ll be back soon.”
At 9:25 – happy kolkhoz workers are singing, returning back from the fields. Oh, my! Watching this, I might mistake it for a Soviet movie circa 1933, glorifying Grandpa Stalin and the USSR! Just imagine this kind of Soviet ‘propaganda’ coming out of MGM!
In actuality, the song is pretty realistic, and Russians do like to sing and dance, including when working in the fields.
The main toast at John and Nadya’s Russian village wedding: “For the happiness of your great country, and for the happiness of our great country” – 11:10. In other words, friendship and global brotherhood, just like the USSR suggested to begin with!
See how easy it is to switch on and off a specific propaganda! Let’s follow this logical chain to its inevitable conclusion. In other words, if US/UK/EU propaganda didn’t work overtime to create and reinforce the image of Russia as a villain and enemy, today we all would have lived in peace and friendship!
But happiness doesn’t last – 11:22. Germany attacks Russia on June 22, 1941 and John’s manager tells him he should stop his tour and leave to the US. “Down at the consulate they say Germans will win this war in 6 weeks.” To which Nadya replies, “No, they will not win!”
The movie contains a totally incredible scene: Stalin’s real speech to the Soviet people (11:57). This famous speech began: “Comrades, Citizens, Brothers and Sisters, Soldiers and Sailors, I am addressing all of you, my friends. In this brutal war against the hateful forces of fascism we will have allies in the face of the peoples of Europe and USA.” For some strange reason, in the American translation Hollywood took out the words “brothers and sisters.”
Stalin is depicted here not as a brutal dictator, but as a world leader who manages to pull together allies and rise the morale not only in his country, but worldwide. It was noted by those who curated the film that Stalin’s calm and heartfelt speech was in stark contrast to Hitler’s hysterical screams, which made Americans feel uneasy. The conclusion was made that Americans would like Stalin’s manner. This is how Hollywood and US government were selling Stalin to the American people as a credible ally!!
When Nazis take over Tchaikovskoye, Nadya’s father and nephew are killed. John wants to join the partisans, but they charge him with going back to America together with Nadya in order to explain to the American people how hard the people of Russia have to fight. Nadya must tell Americans how her relatives and friends have died and that millions in Russia now fight for their land against fascism – 13:53. John and Nadya go back to the US, where they tell their story. Unbelievably, the entire movie is a 100% positive and sweet portrayal of Russia/USSR, perhaps a tad too sweet.
But what is especially remarkable in this whole story is what went on behind the scenes. The documents related to the creation of this and other such movies were declassified only recently.
American President Roosevelt named Lowell Mellet (15:09), a prominent journalist, to head the Office of War Information. He shaped the government PR and Hollywood propaganda during the war. Starting at 15:11, the video presents various correspondence between the Russian ambassador to the US Maxim Litvinov and the US side. It was understood that when Litvinov was asked to provide advice and vet the movie script, taking into account the severity of the war situation and the importance of the positive PR, he consulted the Kremlin and personally Stalin.

The correspondence addresses the credibility of various scenes in the movie, including Russian names, places, what Russian trains look like, how the children are evacuated when Nazis come, how people should react to the air-raid sirens, etc. They did stop short of discussing the skirt length.

18:10. Directions for the MGM script “Russia,” aka, “Song of Russia,” looked like this:
In the movie, we need to reiterate as often as possible that it was the Soviet Army who first destroyed the 10-year myth of the invincibility of the German Nazi army. The background should include the rich wheat fields of Ukraine, the modern city of Moscow, the DneproGes dam (LR: remember I mentioned DneproGes in Crazy Asylum Overload: Ukraine Bans Communism – Goodbye Chinese Investments as the impressive symbol of the Soviet communist industrialization!), a collective farm, a factory, Moscow Metro. All this should dispel the Americans’ impression of Russia as composed solely of bleak fields and backward villages, convincing them that Russians are solid and trustworthy allies!

Let’s get this straight:
American and British propaganda worked hard to create a threatening and negative image of Russia in the form of the young USSR, after they first financed Lenin and the Bolshevik revolution. Then, when emergency knocked on the door in the form of the advancing Hitler armies (the monster who was also their handiwork), they began working equally hard to dispel what they had created! As soon as the war was over, MSM and Hollywood were back on track re-creating the image of Russia as USA’s worst enemy, organizing the Iron Curtain and Cold War in the process.
Next, in 1991-1998, when Yeltsin and Co. were conducting the wholesale sell-out of the country to the West, US media again worked hard to dispel the image of Russia as an enemy they carefully maintained in the previous 40 years. In the ’90s, I lived in the US and I remember the sudden and shocking turn to the positive propaganda. Yeltsin’s Russia was praised. Why not! It was, after all, the regime that surrendered to the West all the prized properties and achievements generations of Russians had worked hard to create. Meanwhile, the same propaganda machine conducted a bashing campaign against stubborn Serbia because someone still had to play the arch-enemy’s role while Russia was otherwise engaged.
In the ’90s I remember the talk, even among pro-Western and pro-oligarchy Russians, that Russia’s role was to be a ‘natural resources appendix to the West,’ sort of Nigeria of Eurasia. But Russia came back to her senses sooner than they expected. After Putin came to power, it became clear that the plan failed. At that point, with renewed vigor, they began re-establishing the image of Russia as the arch-enemy.
Ah, the schizophrenic American propaganda! But what is most amazing is how happily humans in the US and EU yo-yo wherever the wind blows.
As the old Soviet joke goes:
“Have you ever deviated from the party line?”
“Yes, together with the party.”
In conclusion, I want to mention that of all US presidents, the one I personally respect is FDR. It is suspected, and I have a good reason to believe it’s true, that Roosevelt was poisoned in 1945, to make room for Truman and his convenient russophobia. The change of wind happened after Hitler was no more and Russia turned out stronger, instead of weaker, as a result of WWII.
The master plan was that the USSR and Germany were supposed to destroy each other in the course of WWII, as explained by Churchill. Alas, that plan failed. Roosevelt was too amicable for plan B – destroying the USSR (far more than just containing USSR, as many have thought).
Referring to A-bomb, Truman announced after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, “Now we have the stick against the Russians.” Russia has recently de-classified documents confirming that after Hiroshima, USA was planning on destroying the top cities and military targets of Russia, including the capital cities of Moscow and Leningrad, Black Sea and Northern Fleets.
The delay was due to the fact that US simply used up its only two A-bombs in Japan. It took time to manufacture the new supply. Russians used this narrow window of opportunity to produce their own A-bomb, thus deterring the attack. When Americans learned about the Russian A-bomb, they had to go to plan “C,” commonly referred to as the Cold War and Iron Curtain.
Roosevelt was inconvenient because he dreamed of a peaceful ‘condominium’ between USA and Russia, according to Tarpley. And that was very dangerous for those whose life’s ambition was to execute the Full Spectrum Global Dominance doctrine they are still trying to realize today.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about Stalin, it has to be recognized that he was an even more formidable obstacle in their way. You could say he was the ultimate obstacle. As a consequence, he was poisoned in 1953. Stalin rejected the idea of the dollar as the only world-reserve currency. He also introduced the 100% gold-backed ruble, called Chervonets, used by the USSR for international settlements. After Stalin was eliminated, Khrushchev agreed to the dollar world-reserve currency status.
P.S. Incidentally, a few days ago, the Russian ‘dictator’ Putin announced a sweeping amnesty to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory. Every 6th person may be released from jail.
Compare that to the world’s biggest democracy: US jails are in fact a profitable business and the US prisoner population is by far the largest in the world. That’s not counting all those unarmed people US cops shoot almost daily all over the country.

Declaration of Cold War: What Chain of Events is US Provoking With New Hostile Move?
War drums are beating. The US is trying AGAIN to tip the world into the war mode.
The US House of Representatives voted almost unanimously (411 for, 10 against, 13 abstained) to condemn Russia for ‘aggression in Ukraine(?), Moldova(?) and Georgia(?).’ It also voted to create a more aggressive propaganda machine in Russian and Ukrainian, and to SEND AMERICAN WEAPONS TO UKRAINE. In addition, the resolution calls for the reinforcement of NATO and for the sale of US GAS TO EUROPE TO REPLACE RUSSIAN GAS. Link to RT video report.
I wonder who and when will finally vote to condemn the REAL aggressions of the USA against Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Serbia, present US aggression and financing of the illegal coup in Ukraine, and so many other aggressions all over the world? Who will condemn USA for spying on the entire world? What about the continued US and NATO aggression and intimidation campaign against Russia? What about color revolutions US sponsors all over the world?
Do you feel a sense of deja vu by any chance? I do. Remember how many times I warned of exactly these things. I said that these are the main purposes for the US ‘subversion of Ukraine’ (the fact that US invested only officially $5bln into ‘subverting Ukraine’ was publicly admitted by the US State Dept’s Victoria Nuland in December 2013).
I said this at various times:
1. Conflict in Ukraine is used to weaken Russia and EU at the same time.
2. Ukraine conflict is used to drive a wedge between Russia and EU, and at the same time, between Russia and Ukraine.
3. Ukraine to Anglo-American elites is loose change and cannon fodder to be thrown out as a used-up lemon. For Russia, Ukraine is their brothers and part of the Russian world to be respected and lived in peace with.
4. The continuing escalation of a conflict is necessary to paint Russia and Putin as aggressors, when the actual aggressor is US, with the kind help of Brussels, Germany, Poland and Lithuania. This is the same methodology used to perfection by the UK/US/France in the past to escalate Hitler’s aggression and to pit Germany and Russia (in the 20th Century, the two biggest rivals of the Anglo-American empire) in two past World Wars. Using proxies to fight their wars is the best Anglo-American achievement from hell.
5. US is itching to sell its own, more expensive gas to Europe, taking this market away from Russia.
For that purpose, McCain went to Bulgaria and other EU countries. THE VERY NEXT DAY after McCain’s and two other senators’ visit, Bulgaria announced that it was withdrawing from South Stream. Annual losses from such withdrawal for Bulgaria constitute $400-600 million + $150 million in losses from the switch of the Russian gas transit to Turkey to the new Black Sea pipeline. Altogether, up to $750 million per year in losses. What makes leaders of a country do something that is clearly bad for the country’s economy? Only arm-twisting can do that, and/or a bribe.
McCain’s arm-twisting worked well on the sold-out neocon-infested Bulgarian government. It didn’t work on Hungary (which because of that is now threatened with a color revolution), nor Austria. Austria’s President reportedly retorted that he didn’t tell US what to do, so he would appreciate it if US didn’t tell him who to conduct business with.
Still, subverting Bulgaria was enough – South Steam has ground to a screaching halt.
Notice that the US Congress cold war resurrection resolution (sounds like The Lord of the Rings – the dark powers on the rise) appeared right after the noteworthy events I described in my previous article: German Vice Chancellor: No Ukraine in NATO; Russia, Let’s Make Up!
Below is a brief summary of the events I described in the above piece, plus analysis of the underlying geopolitical games and return moves by the US.
1. Europe has started looking for ways to make up with Russia and get EU-Russia relations back to normal. Additionally, Germany let it be known that they would not approve Ukraine in NATO, which is what US has been pushing for.
All the above is a big problem for the US hegemony. US needs to prevent this from happening. The only way of influencing the EU in these circumstances is to escalate the stand-off between Russia and the West, so Eu has no choice but to take anti-Russian position.
Last time they used the Malaysia Boeing downing in Ukraine to push reluctant EU towards a new round of anti-Russian sanctions. How about provoking Russia via arms supply to the Kiev junta this time, making Russia act to protect Donbass?
2. Russia announced the closure of the South Stream project.
No doubt US has rejoiced. US was the driving force behind the sabotage of the South Stream, projected to deliver gas directly to southern and central Europe. This route would bypass the unstable Ukraine, making the supply more secure and cheaper for many countries. The winners of this scenario would have been: Austria, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Russia – and the entire EU economy. Losers from South Stream would have been: Ukraine and US. Now do your math: WHO BENEFITS AND WHO LOSES FROM THE CLOSURE OF SOUTH STREAM!
The US had been long pushing to sell their own shale gas to the EU, however expensive and inconvenient this may be.
Note, the US shale gas issue is a big problem in the US itself. It has been proven that this barbaric method of extraction causes untold damage to the environment, causing irreversible water damage, making potable water and soils unusable, and creating tremors and quakes. I have lived in Upstate NY, which is sitting on large shale gas deposits, and it is an ongoing struggle for the residents there to keep the shale gas vultures out of their state. Recently, the birthplace of shale gas in Texas has moved to ban this harmful practice.
Shale gas industry was touted in the US as a way out of the systemic crisis of the US economy. However, it’s not working so well. Due to low gas prices, most shale gas wells had to be capped as high cost of production made them unprofitable. To make shale gas worthwhile, US desperately needs a huge new market such as EU. To gain the EU market, US first needs to squeeze Russia out of it.
Now, isn’t it clear that US needs to do the following things:
1. Weaken EU, break EU’s will, subdue European countries – and make them buy more expensive gas contrary to EU’s interests.
2. Weaken Russian economy, vilify and discredit Putin, isolate and vilify Russia, so Russia can’t continue working with the EU, so consequently EU would be forced to buy expensive US gas, forsaking a much better deal it has with Russia presently.
3. Destabilize and destroy Ukraine, making it into a massive festering wound for both Russia and EU to deal with. Destabilization of Ukraine sabotages Russian gas supplies to the EU. In addition, the spinning of Ukraine as victim of the big, bad Russia also serves to create divisions and alienation on European continent. This is a complete repeat of the Georgia 2008 scenario. All the above US needs to do in order to make its grand plan of getting out of the crisis happen.
What is very important to understand is this: by making EU buy US shale gas, US not only solves its economic problems, but it also binds EU to itself irreversibly.
Once Russia has reoriented towards other markets, it will be hard to impossible to convince her to turn back. Russia is the historic and karmic global balancer. Hence, Russia’s re-orientations usually are precursors to big global changes to come. It is entirely in the interests of the EU to get closer to Russia, and that includes UK as well, although UK can serve as a bridge between US and new Europe. But it is entirely against the interests of the present-day US empire for any of that to happen. Living in peace and cooperation with the rest of the world is certainly in the best interests of the population of the USA.
Ideally, the US and those who still want to execute the US ‘full spectrum dominance’ global hegemony plans, want to convert the entire world into its vassals. I can tell you this will never happen, and perhaps those who formulate the insane US policies already get it on some level. At this time it appears the US is trying to inflict as much damage as possible on as many countries as possible as its plan B. And you know what, they are partially succeeding!
What we are observing is a war between the wounded, but very dangerous beast and the rest of the world.
Unfortunately, too many try to pretend this war doesn’t concern them. Some think they can remain on the beast’s side until tide changes and they can switch to the other side safely. It’s so much easier to have someone else fight your battles, incur hardship and losses, while you just arrive in the end and collect the trophies. This sounds like Romania, which first entered WWII on the side of the fascist Germany, occupying my city of Odessa, which was promised to Romania by Germany as one of the spoils of war. But when Germany started losing, Romania switched to the other side. And it sounds like US, who during the same WWII let the USSR bleed and fight until it became clear in 1944 that the USSR was winning, and that’s when US finally entered the war to collect their trophies.
Russian Vityaz’ – bogatyr’ (bogatyr’ means knight, protector; vityaz’ was a highly evolved master protector, whose powers were borderline mystical)
Yes, there are very few heroes. But Russia has no choice. Whether Russians want it or not, they are destined to always fight that dangerous beast that threatens to devour all. Russia’s is the hardest place to be. It is the hardest role to preserve balance in this crazy, unbalanced world. Allies are hard to come by, as usual. Few want to risk their lives and well-being to confront the beast; fewer still, have wisdom and foresight to do so successfully. Hiding out seems so much safer.
I mentioned Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings for a reason. Tolkien, like Edgar Cayce before him, like other visionaries, such as Anastasia of Siberia (The Ringing Cedars) and Bulgarian Baba Vanga – and like yours truly – have been hinting at the same thing. The White City in The Lord of the Rings is written after Moscow (known historically as the White Stone City) and the ancient city of Great Novgorod. Putin’s Move and Profitable Russia-Turkey Alliance
Instead of the cancelled South Stream, Russia and Turkey announced the construction of the new arm of the Blue Stream. Turkey is to become the Russian gas distribution hub for further sales to Europe, or to any other market. Russia is also to build a new energy system for Turkey. The new system will allow for a more flexible gas distribution by sea or pipeline, depending on demand.
It’s interesting how secret the Putin/Erdogan agreements were kept until the last moment.
It has to be noted that the new agreement between Putin and Erdogan was only possible after Putin created a new paradigm with the Caspian Sea powers, including Iran, and notably, Azerbaijan. This is also connected with SCO advancements and Eurasian Union (EAU). Turkey is very interested in being admitted into SCO and EAU. I can predict that at least the SCO announcement will come out soon. These events happened very quietly and went unnoticed in the West; and actually, Russia likes that. The quieter, the better. In reality, these events are very important. I spoke about them briefly before, and I will discuss them in more detail in one of my upcoming interviews next year.
Azerbaijan is an interesting factor here, as well as Syria, Iran and Gagauzia (autonomy within Moldova). All these are connected with Russia and each other via invisible but meaningful links.

After everything that happened, it would be naive to think US wouldn’t make return moves. It is more difficult to understand why so many seemingly intelligent people in the EU and US allow themselves to be duped and manipulated time after time by thugs in the US Congress, Pentagon, White House, and by the shadow puppet masters.
The problem for Russia is this: the moment US starts making any threatening moves, all EU’s good intentions evaporate and they dutifully fall in line. They forget their own good and profit, their own reasoning as to how important the relations with Russia are, and start again playing a role of the US lap dog – or US vicious pit bull.
This is the chain of events the US is trying to provoke with this new hostile move:
US sends its weapons to the Ukraine junta. Kiev uses these more advanced and deadly weapons against civilians in Donbass. Russia has no choice but to match that to protect Donbass from complete annihilation. US and EU start yelling that Russia interferes in Ukraine.
Then US pressures EU into adopting a new round of sanctions, contrary to EU’s own interests. These sanctions will be equally damaging to both Russia and EU. The winner is US.
Next, relations between Russia and EU hit a new low as Russia has no choice but to reciprocate. US gets to twist the arm of the weakened EU even more efficiently. US can now sell its shale gas to the EU and no one makes a peep.
EU becomes fully dependent and therefore, subservient to the US. Will US continue escalating, while Russia has no choice but to adopt further protective measures? The trust between Russia and EU is gone. After EU business is forced to leave Russia having been squeezed out by the US/EU sanctions, there will be even less opposition to the US policy in the EU and fewer forces left to protest against it.
Repeat of WWI and WWII. The next step is, yet again, to pit Central and Western Europe against Russia.
Now, people, ask yourselves – how many of you want this kind of outcome? I can tell you that it would be the last war. This human civilization will not get another chance. I wrote about that in my mystical thriller THE EARTH SHIFTER.

Ten facts about Cold War, Bretton Woods, US dollar, NATO and Pentagon everyone should know!
1. As soon as WWII was over, the new Cold War was initiated by US and UK against Russia/Soviet Union following the nuclear ‘stick’ demo (as Truman called it) via the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, and the Fulton speech by Churchill.
2. That’s on the surface. The truth beneath it: Cold War was started by US/UK because USSR refused to ratify the Bretton Woods Accord. Bretton Woods sanctified the future global dollar dominance and established IMF, thus creating current US-dollar-based neo-colonial system.
3. Warsaw Pact (Treaty for Friendship, Co-operation, and Mutual Assistance), created by the USSR in response to NATO and Cold War, was disbanded BEFORE the USSR fell apart. NATO not only didn’t disband after Cold War was over, but kept expanding to Russia’s borders.
4. USSR was instrumental in reuniting Germany. Russian troops LEFT East Germany in 1989 – again, well before the collapse of the USSR! AMERICAN troops occupy ALL of Germany to this day!
5. Two solemn promises were made by Bush Sr. and his cronies to Gorbachev and Russia: 1. NATO will never expand into Eastern Europe; 2. Unified Germany will not be a part of NATO. BOTH PROMISES WERE PROMPTLY BROKEN AND CONTINUE BEING BROKEN EVERY DAY!
6. US is, and always was (together with UK), the driving force behind NATO. Many Western European countries complain about the pressure US applies to elicit their participation in military conflicts around the world. That’s not to say EU countries don’t have their own ulterior motives, but the driving force, the glue keeping this aggressive alliance together is undeniably Washington.
7. Since WWII, US bombed over 30 countries. Here is an incomplete list. The country missing is Iraq in 2003-present (including the current ISIS-related bombings). Syria is under constant threat of being bombed by US and NATO. US regularly conducts several wars at once in different parts of the globe.
8. Presently, US troops are stationed in 150 countries and cover 75% of the planet. Video by RT.
9. US military budget is MORE than military budgets of all other countries on planet Earth combined.
10. The US-dollar-based neo-colonialism is maintained by three forces whose illegal activities aren’t even concealed any more: 1) US army and the threat of US force; 2) Economic sabotage and blackmail of those countries that dare to conduct independent policy; 3) Clandestine operations, including: NSA surveillance gathering dirt on world’s politicians to later blackmail them, false flags, color revolutions, and CIA black ops.
CONCLUSIONS
At this time, NATO, and its driving force, USA, has the ambition of absorbing the former Soviet republics such as Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, thus attempting to surround Russia with NATO bases located in Russia’s backyard. It is universally known that NATO bases so near Russia’s borders destroy the balance of power in Europe, threatening Russia directly.
Conflicts in Ukraine, and earlier in 2008 in Georgia, were instigated and supported by the US/EU specifically to try to tilt the balance of power further in their favor. In their clandestine attempts to weaken and destroy Russia, they use local ultra-nationalist/fascist forces with grudges against Russia.
It is well-known that US never won a war since WWII, and even that one was won practically single-handedly by the USSR, while US mostly tagged along. On the other hand, Russia practically never lost a war – the exception is the financial Cold War, in which Russia was simply swindled.
The conclusions here are very important! From the above we can conclude that US/UK are very good at swindling and at using others as cannon fodder. Consequently: NATO expansion is dangerous primarily for the gullible countries of Europe, Ukraine and Georgia. Europeans should have already learned their lessons from past experiences. Will they ever?
P.S. Interesting bit: former US-installed president of Georgia Saakashvili, infamous for attacking South Ossetia, which resulted in South Ossetia together with Abkhazia seceding, has been sentenced in his country in absentia for treason, embezzlement and exceeding authority. International warrant has been issued for his arrest. Saakashvili is presently residing in Brooklyn and US refuses to give him up. However, they do keep him on a short leash as his application for permanent residency has been so far denied. It certainly would have been too obvious if they did approve his permanent residency.
On a separate note, Saakashvili is ‘plotting his triumphant return’ to Georgia not from just anywhere, but from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Any New Yorker would have a good laugh at this, I am sure. Williamsburg is not what I’d call a sexy place to be. It’s a very traditional Hasidic Jewish neighborhood, with bizarre outfits and 10 kids per family… Does that mean his US handlers aren’t paying him enough for a decent place, or is it easier to be invisible? I can certainly think of a number of reasons why he would be hiding there.
Present rulers of Ukraine may want to take good notice of the above.

Multipolar World and Deja Vu

Humans reinvent themselves much more often than most think, and history gets changed or distorted much more often than anyone imagines.
The world is quickly changing again as we are facing a global consciousness revolution of unheard of proportions. In the middle of the 20th century humanity went through the most devastating war in the recognized human history. As a result of the two meetings of Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt in Teheran, Iran and Yalta, Crimea, Russia, the 20th century world architecture that is crumbling around us today, was devised by these three leaders and their respective global powers. The victory in the Great War (WWII) was primarily possible because of the immense sacrifice and suffering of the people of Russia and entire Soviet Union, who managed to defeat the German Nazism. In doing so, Russia/USSR were fulfilling their karmic and historic role of the ultimate global balancer.
The world plunged into the Cold War almost immediately after WWII was over. The beginning of the Cold War was provoked and orchestrated via two events:
1. The US Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombing, a horrific ‘showcase’ of the new American nuclear toy of which Truman famously said: “now we have a stick against the Russians.” Of course, it didn’t take long before USSR developed its own nuclear stick in RESPONSE. Could it have been any other way?
Incidentally, having looked back in history, I’ve become convinced that the fast Russian development of their own nuclear bomb, the talented Russian physicists notwithstanding, was due in part to the fact that at least one (possibly more) of the scientists involved in the creation of the American a-bomb had passed vital information to Russians after Hiroshima made him understand what kind of a monster he helped create in the USA.
2. The Fulton Speech by Churchill, promising the “Iron Curtain” against the USSR. It was Churchill’s Fulton speech that officially marked the beginning of the Cold War and the “Iron Curtain.” Make no mistake – it was the aggression and provocations of the West that started and perpetuated the Cold War. USSR was a very reluctant and purely defensive participant at all times. It’s just that the overly aggressive, distortedly yang West has always, in known human history, initiated the aggression.
We are now at a breaking point: the West must become significantly more yin for its own good, and in order to restore balance on the planet.
The undeniable proof of what a reluctant warrior Russia had always been is how peacefully, on a handshake, the USSR split up, including (stupidly, I might add) sacrificing such core Russian territories as Crimea, eastern and southern Ukraine (Novorossia).
In defence of the ’90s Russian leadership, and in defence of the people of Ukraine at the time, it has been shown that they were simply duped. Dr. Natalia Vitrenko, long-term head of the Ukrainian Progressive Socialist Party and Rada deputy, who also occupied high-powered positions in the ’80s and ’90s, has confirmed that when people voted in a national referendum for independence and Soviet Union dissolution in 1990-91, they were told that a new commonwealth or new union would be formed instead, minus the Communist Party (Vitrenko’s podcast in Russian here).
Indeed, attempts to create a new union existed in the ’90s. To this day, there is a disfuntional structure called CIS (SNG in Russian), uniting most of the post-Soviet states. However, within 6-10 years, the initial plans were scrapped as each of the ‘leaders’ of the former republics started feeling like a big feudal boss, as oligarchs sucked the money out of their respective countries, and as Soros/NGOs/MSM and Western fifth column made each former republic more and more anti-Russian. (Present day situation is a little different: the process of awakening has started and the tide is changing both in the West and in the post-Soviet republics.)
This is why to this day so many people all over the former Soviet Union feel confused and betrayed. Sure, the fault is partially that of Russia’s elites, and especially oligarchs. But it’s even a bigger fault of those ‘leaders’ of specific former republics who became power and money hungry at the expense of their own population. Even before the Russian authorities pulled out of the former republics, Western propagandists and economic hitmen were already present there, softening up the local elites and creating the MSM fifth column. The predisposition and willingness were amply available after the disappointments of the Soviet collapse. The void left by Russia’s withdrawal created an extremely fertile ground for the mushrooming rusophobia.
Do you know what the snake in the garden of Eden really looks like? That’s right – exactly like the Western economic and geopolitical hitmen! I wonder if the Biblical story of the snake in the Garden of Eden was written specifically to warn of snakes such as these. In those days they may have been called ‘money changers,’ today they may be called banksters, MSM and NGOs. It is the lust for power, greed, fear and ignorance that always get humans in trouble by creating divisions, wherever they may live.
US economic (and geopolitical) hitmen, so brilliantly described by John Perkins in his awesome book, have been gladly capitalizing on these qualities of the human race. People all over the world should heed this warning and stop fighting between themselves. It’s time to start disappointing the hitmen.
Back to the Cold War: the short-term WWII allies reverted back to being long-term enemies. However, despite the obvious animosity and rivalry, after WWII the two worlds managed to achieve parity, which kept the world spinning without massive global armed conflicts – until now. The former USSR and today’s Russia played, and continue playing, the role of the global balancer, despite either irresponsible, or openly malicious aggressiveness of the West.
Despite obvious differences with today’s events, some things in the video below sound and look like a deja vu. Quoting the same grandpa Churchill, those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I’ve translated the key pieces:
0.01: Stalin speaking on November 6, 1941, when Hitler’s army was standing near Moscow (as we know, Moscow was successfully defended in 1941 and Hitler failed to take it. This became the first Russian victory in that brutal 4-year war). This speech was delivered deep underground, at Metro Station Komsomolskaya, as Moscow was being bombed by Germans: “Comrades, Russians must see clearly who their enemy is. These people (Nazis – LR) have the audacity to call for the destruction of the Great Russian culture, the culture of Tolstoy and Chekhov, the culture of Suvorov and Kutuzov (generals who defeated Osmanic empire and Napoleon- LR). They came to us with war we didn’t want, and war shall they receive.”

Lada’s notes: Few know that as the world leaders were arriving to Teheran, Russian intelligence uncovered a plot to assassinate the three of them. As a result, Churchill and Roosevelt stayed with Stalin on the territory of the Soviet embassy compound in Iran – the only safe place in Teheran. There is a great Russian movie about that assassination plot and the work of the Russian intelligence, called ‘Teheran 43.’

Lada’s notes: After the Teheran near fiasco, this time the trio met in the safety of the Russian territory specifically because it was the only safe place during WWII. Food for thought, don’t you think?

There is one mission left for our army – to complete together with our allies the destruction of fascism and to place our Victory Banner over Berlin.”

It is worth noting that Stalin was originally from Georgia, where he is still considered a national hero by many. He never lost his Georgian accent. When I was in Tbilisi, Georgia around 1990, I saw Stalin’s portraits displayed even in the driver cabs of the city trolleybuses. At the same time in Russia and Ukraine Stalin’s portraits and statues were all but banished as he was considered a tyrant and dictator, according to my Soviet era school history books.
Interestingly enough, Stalin wrote in his bio: “Russian of Georgian descent.” Like many in the Greater Russian World, he in fact considered himself Russian.
Presently, there is a large movement in Russia and former Soviet republics that is re-evaluating the actual role and contribution of Stalin and other Soviet leaders, as well as the Soviet Union itself. Many are coming to a realization that in the Soviet Union they lost something that was unique and great. The baby was definitely thrown out with the bath water. Now many are scrambling to catch the baby, or what’s left of her, and place her safely back where she belonged. It has been determined that much of the Soviet history, including Stalin’s period, was twisted by Khrushchev who had a personal grudge against Stalin and by Gorbachev and his team, who were trying to get on the West’s good side by admitting mistakes that perhaps never happened or weren’t mistakes at all. Some may have been Stalin’s great geopolitical victories turned on their head to please the West. Of course the West was pleased: they wanted to see Soviet Union – the only global balancer capable of zeroing out their aggression – destroyed. It’s open for debate whether it was naiveté, ego or treason by Khrushchev and Gorbachev that led them to such actions.
Just like Roosevelt and Churchill, Stalin was a great geopolitical mind and a formiddable world leader. His methods and certain actions are certainly open for debate. I used to be clear about Stalin as a tyrant. For me, the jury is still out and it has to be noted that others acted just as badly, or much worse, in different or similar circumstances. To be fair, many documents are surfacing lately that tell a different story than the official version we all know.
That said, you can’t turn back the clock. For better or for worse, humanity must evolve past the limiting bi-polar global architecture set up by the WWII winners: USSR, USA and UK. The UK empire ceased to exist when its colonial system collapsed and India claimed independence. The USSR, right or wrong, collapsed in 1991. USA is next.
We are moving towards a more equitable, more balanced and more inclusive world. This new world structure will be multipolar. The new structure of the world is being decided now, and as it happens during the times of great change, the geopolitical power struggle, mass confusion, anger and even psychosis (born of confusion and fear of change), as well as depression, grow exponentially.
Shedding the light on things to help people understand what is happening and where all this is going is especially important now. This is why I do my work, which is to explain, uncover the truth, set the record straight, enlighten, and predict.
