Putin, Erdogan, Merkel & Macron Agree on Peace Plan for Syria, But Guess Who’s Conspicuously Missing?
The summit in Turkey between four powers convened following Putin’s Peace Plan for Syria and based on Erdogan’s invitation to hold the talks in Turkey.
Take a very wild guess: who’s missing in these talks, which are supposed to help transition Syria to peace? Give you a hint: NO ONE who speaks a particular language, on whichever side of the big pond they may be located… Another hint: NOT those who planned and executed chemical false flags and bombings of Syria; not those who financed ISIS and White Helmets.
On videos below: Putin, Erdogan, Merkel and Macron at Syria Summit in Turkey. Note the positions of leaders: Putin and Erdogan in the center, Macron and Merkel on both sides. The organizer is Turkey, and the symbolic diplomatic language Erdogan is conveying is quite clear: it’s us, Russia and Turkey who are central to Syria crisis resolution. Merkel and Macron are sideshows.
NOTE: Turkey’s role is very ambiguous in Syria, as is that of Germany and France. But Putin’s genius is such that he managed to unite such different, and even confrontational to each other leaders, in one room. Erdogan and Merkel have been at loggerheads for years, yet she is there.
But notice something else! Macron and Merkel, by showing up at this summit, despite USA’s objections, are also giving a clear signal to the US and Trump. It happened previously with Ukraine, when Germany and France tried to bypass US in resolving the Ukraine crisis through Minsk 1 and 2.
Let me be clear: USA does matter, and many things in the world still cannot move along and be resolved without US participation. But USA’s power is waning, and fast.
USA, due to Trump’s behavior, is also losing its former allies left and right. There is a slow but clearly defined decoupling of the US allies worldwide, which is a normal occurrence during the Inverted Collapse and the Earth Shift.
Think about it! Just a few years ago Germany called itself USA’s staunchest ally in Europe. France’s Macron tried to appease Trump just a few months ago, and Trump made Macron/France an offer to replace Germany as the America’s No.1 in Europe.
What about Turkey and Erdogan? During Cold War Turkey was the No.1 strategic NATO asset against Russia, as well as within the Middle East. Turkish Army remains NATO’s top army apart from the US. And we all know who’s calling shots in NATO.
And here are USA’s formerly three key allies in Turkey, agreeing on the future road plan for Syrian peace, a plan first proposed by Russia and Putin, and then agreed upon between Erdogan and Putin. But Trump isn’t invited… As we see, UK/Theresa May aren’t invited either.
Very telling, and a very big signal, I would say… Much food for thought.
Putin and Russia have pulled the same impossible number of bringing the opposing people and countries together and made them agree on important things more than once in the past. Examples include rivals such Iran and Turkey, or China and India, and mortal enemies like the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Earth Shift is underway and the old structures are crumbling, while new are emerging. Visible cracks are showing in the US, EU and NATO, as Erdogan, the key NATO ally in the region, continues leaning towards Russia, and away from the US/EU. I had predicted and spoken about it on many occasions since 2014, including in ESR5, ESR7, and of course in ESR13!
You’ll remember my detailed description of the sequence of events in EARTH SHIFT REPORT 13: ERDOGAN’S WAR. It was Putin who saved Erdogan from Gaddafi’s fate during the coup organized by the CIA. Erdogan has big scores to settle with the US and EU.
Again, read my lips and just watch what happens in the next several years!
And one more thing: I wrote and wrote about the Turkish shift. As I see, the West has completely missed the whole thing! Just like they will miss the EARTH SHIFT!
Inidentally, I have also hinted and written many times about Israel’s shift — but no one seems to hear my predictions, the only CORRECT and AHEAD OF THE TIMES PREDICTIONS out there. People prefer loud sensationalism, even if it turns out wrong. That’s why so many people are victims — they don’t see, don’t hear, even when something stares them in the face. They don’t notice when someone is trying to tell them something valuable. And how many such predictions I’d made in the past!

Putin Makes Surprise Visit to Syria in the Company of Su-30 Jets to Declare Victory and the End of Op
Russian President Vladimir Putin paid surprise visit to Khmeimim Airbase in Syria’s Latakia province on Monday, December 11. As he prepared to land, he was met by an escort of Su-30SM fighter jets.
During this unannounced visit Putin met with Syrian president Assad and made an important announcement regarding partial withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria following the defeat of ISIS. Putin added that if terrorists reappeared in Syria, Russian troops would be back.
Russia’s Enormous Victory & End of ISIS
Russian Syria op is one of the most successful military ops of all time. As a result of Russian BKC (Russian joint military-space forces) involvement along with Syrian ground troops, ISIS has been squeezed out of all cities in Syria, leaving only some straggling groups in the country, with which Syrian army is still dealing on the ground. Syrian government today controls most of the country’s territory. When Russia got involved in Syria 2 years ago, Assad and Syrian army controlled 14% of the country’s territory, rebels were located as close as 8 kilometers from Assad’s palace, Syrian army was on its last legs with deserters leaving in droves. It was expected that any day Assad would lose power and Syria would be torn to pieces by warring factions and foreign powers.
The task the Russian Army had in Syria seemed insurmountable and extremely complex. Not only it was of a military nature, but it was diplomatic, moderating and peacemaking as well.
During the past 2 years of Syrian involvement, in military operations Russia hasn’t lost a single jet, except the Turkish provocation with the downing of the Russian Su. One single flying regiment took part in operations; overall Russian troops in Syria numbered no more than 4-5 thousand. This relatively small number of troops managed to make 30,000 flights and destroy most of the ISIS top commanders, and most of the Islamic State terrorists’ infrastructure, including arms depots, training camps, factories, oil transports and money laundering rings. Estimated combined ISIS losses are 32,000 troops. Russian instructors re-trained and turned around the demoralized Syrian army in such a way that it began winning. The most important Syrian army operations were developed and executed under the command of Russian higher officers. The result of such operations was the liberation of all major Syrian cities, securing of oil fields and the majority of the country’s territory.
The political, diplomatic and peacemaking results have been equally impressive. Only Russia managed to sit down at one table the seemingly irreconcilable enemies, including Iran, Turkey, Syrian government and opposition/ rebels/ various factions. Political process is taking place and elections are coming, which was unimaginable just recently. Syria today is day and night compared to what it was just two years ago.
All this is especially impressive if you compare it to the staggering fiasco of the US/EU/NATO’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as Syria. Incidentally, it has been brought to my attention that following Russia’s astounding victory in Syria, US and France are trying to steal this victory, declaring it theirs and ignoring the reality. This is also nothing new — remember WWI and WWII and the re-writing of history!

Of course, this is far from being the end. The new strategy for securing the rest of the country, maintaining peace and squeezing US out of Syria has to be implemented, political changes have to take place. But the active military phase is over.
After the surprise Syria stop-over, where he thanked the troops, met with Assad and declared the end of Syria op, Putin in the same day visited Egypt and Turkey.
This whole 1-day, 3-country Middle East turbo-tour is the continuation of Putin’s restructuring and rebalancing of the Middle East, as discussed in my recent interview A New Tsar Arrived. But the timing is also such that this Middle East tour serves as Putin and Russia’s response to Trump’s decision to consider Jerusalem the capital of Israel and to move the US embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem.
Why did Trump make such announcement right before Holidays? It has already met with much condemnation around the world and generated a new wave of violence and anti-US hatred. There are calls for the 3rd Intifada (Palestinian resistance war against Israel). This announcement is also likely to create new waves of terror attacks in US, Israel and other countries. Just yesterday we had terror attack attempt at the Bus Terminal in Manhattan, and more are expected during Christmas/New Year. Politicians and lay people alike have dubbed Trump’s decision ‘irresponsible and short-sighted.’
The reason Trump saw fit to make such an announcement is very simple and in line with my original predictions from the Trump ESR16 and ESW1: WILL TRUMP SURVIVE HIS FIRST TERM. Trump is in a ‘straitjacket’ and in a fight for survival, being criticized and threatened by various forces. This is by no means a justification of his actions, but merely a reminder that I predicted this since 2016, before the US election outcome was even known.
Trump is trying to avoid impeachment with all his might. In this survival mode he, in a typical American fashion, doesn’t care how his words or actions will impact the world. He is simply thinking about himself. If he were a private citizen, that might be at least understandable, if not forgivable. But it doesn’t work at all if one calls himself a US president.
The Israeli/ Jewish lobby in the US is one of the most powerful. Therefore, for Trump it is crucial to have it in his corner. It is as crucial as having Pentagon and US army in his corner, or at least neutral so they wouldn’t support his impeachment. To appease Pentagon/US army Trump does constant saber-rattling against N. Korea, threatening to begin a nuclear war. If it’s not N. Korea, it is Iran, Syria, or whatever enemy is next in line.
And to appease the Jewish/Israel lobby Trump recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. All very logical actions from his standpoint — and the hell with the rest of the world. This yet again demonstrates how unfit the USA, this ‘exceptional nation’ and ‘sole super-power,’ is for the role of the global leader.
This is where Russia the Great Balancer comes in. Putin’s announcement of Russian troops withdrawal from Syria stands in stark contrast to Trump/USA’s bullying position.
By contrast with Trump, Putin announced during meetings with Egypt’s el-Sisi and Turkey’s Erdogan that only the joint negotiations between Israel and Palestine should decide the status of Jerusalem. This measured and reasonable position yet again shows who the true world leader really is; who brings peace to the Middle East, and who provokes wars.
Putin is confirming what I often talk about: Russia is the unifying, balancing and pacifying force in the Middle East and globally. This role of Russia the Great Balancer will continue intensifying during the ongoing EARTH SHIFT.

Erdogan struggles to stay awake during presser with Ukraine’s Poroshenko
I just couldn’t resist posting this hilarious video of Erdogan repeatedly falling asleep during Ukraine’s Poroshenko’s talk. Frankly, I’ve never seen anything like it during talks between leaders of 2 countries.
Not only Erdogan isn’t taking this puppet seriously. Poroshenko’s hanging by the thread inside Ukraine, performing a balancing act to stay alive. For a fake photo-op with Trump, Poroshenko has to pay Washington lobbyists the millions Ukraine doesn’t have. Most importantly, there is trouble brewing in the EU for Ukraine — stay tuned for my new intel!
For now everyone’s keeping Poroshenko around as a useful and predictable idiot. But only for now…
Ukraine, ruled by the Kiev junta and ukro-nazis, has hit its final dead end, and signs are many. There is a global eerie pause in regards to Ukraine… Do you feel it? The West doesn’t know what else to do with it, and Russia is waiting until the West does decide that enough is enough, and drops this suitcase without a handle. EARTH SHIFT REPORT 2 UKRAINE: TRUTH, LIES & FUTURE HOPE
Vladimir Putin Schools Merkel on Geopolitics and Democracy (+ Russian Gas Update)
On May 2 Putin had a phone conversation with Donald Trump, during which the two agreed to meet soon, probably during the approaching German G20 Summit. On May 3, 2017 Putin has met with Turkish president Erdogan. Clearly these two events are tied with Merkel’s visit. Trump and Putin meeting in Germany means the host needs to check in with both. In addition to the EU and German needs, Merkel seems to have assumed the temporary role of a liaison between Russia and US. Meanwhile Erdogan’s visit has a clear Russian gas pipeline / Turkish Stream underpinning, which is also tied to Syria. Erdogan’s message is (as I long predicted): Turkey’s direction is to distance itself from the US and EU and get closer to Russia.
On May 2, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has visited Sochi to meet with Vladimir Putin. The date was agreed upon two months prior, after Merkel’s persistent requests. Curiously, Putin found no day in his busy schedule other than May 2…
Merkel came to Moscow with several goals:
1. To compare notes on Ukraine and Minsk-2 negotiations, which – predictably – came to a standstill due to Kiev junta’s violations.
2. To make sure the construction of the crucial Nord Stream 2 was on track and to check with Putin how it could be pushed through before it’s too late.
Incidentally, Nord Stream 2 is a competing project with Turkish Stream. Both Germany and Turkey are in a competition who will get to build the pipe faster and who will get to transport more Russian gas.
3. To try scoring some political points before German elections, by showing German MSM present at the Putin-Merkel presser how tough she is on ‘bad’ Russia.
THE CURIOUS CHOICE OF THE DATE
It’s safe to say that Putin deliberately chose May 2. What’s so special about this particular date? Two things:
1. On May 2, 1945 Soviet troops took over Berlin, installing that famous Red Victory Banner over the defeated Reichstag, and officially ending WWII. It would take a few more days to draft the capitulation agreement, which would be signed on May 8 German time and on May 9 Russian time.
2. On May 2, 2014 ukro-nazi fascists, supported by Germany, US and EU, burned dozens (by some accounts, hundreds) of people alive on Odessa’s Kulikovo Polie. The only crime of these peaceful protesters was that they disagreed with the ukro-nazi Kiev regime and wanted to speak their native Russian language.
(Putin chose the joint Sochi presser to remind Merkel and German MSM present, that Odessa massacre went entirely unnoticed by the ‘democratic free world,’ no investigation took place and culprits walked free: PUTIN about Odessa Video – notice Merkel looking down.)
For the most part, negotiations were conducted behind closed doors. But the public part is very telling indeed.
I
As to Minsk-2, there was a surprising unity between Putin and Merkel, to a huge disappointment of Kiev. Minsk-2 has to be observed. There won’t be re-negotiation of the original terms, and contrary to Kiev’s continued hopes, there won’t be a new agreement.
II
Nord Stream 2 is another sticky point. Kiev junta, as well as its ‘friends’ – most notably Poland and the Baltics – keep hoping that Nord Stream 2 won’t be built. The construction of the second branch of the Russian gas pipeline to Germany will render obsolete the old Soviet pipeline through Ukraine.
The Ukraine pipeline is presently used for the transit of a significant amount of Russian gas to Europe, although the amount of transit diminishes every year as more gas gets rerouted. To this day, Russian gas transit is the biggest foreign revenue source for Ukraine.
Gazprom has long announced that after the current gas transit agreement expires in 2019, Russia won’t renew it. This effectively means the following:
- Russia plans to discontinue using Ukraine as the lead gas transiter to Europe – and nothing can change that. The only destinations to which Russian gas will still be delivered through Ukraine after 2018 will be Moldova and Pridnestrovie.
- As of the end of 2018 Ukraine will lose its leverage over both Russia and EU. In turn, US will lose leverage over Russia and EU by the means of Ukraine. And of course, USA’s and EU’s leverage over Russia and Ukraine will greatly diminish as well. This inevitably will change the geopolitical landscape. As I predicted all along, as it loses its importance as a pressure point against Russia, the US and EU will have no choice but to withdraw from Ukraine.
- Consequently, if Europe wants to receive Russian gas after 2018, it has to hassle.
Hence the German effort to ensure Nord Stream 2 is on track. German parliament has recently approved Nord Stream 2 speedy construction. The new 6.6 bln euros in loans have been allocated to the project.
During Sochi visit Merkel confirmed that Germany is fully on board regarding Nord Stream 2 by hinting that EU regulations would slow down the construction and that they should not apply to this pipeline.

Based on the above, you’d think that Putin and Merkel were the best of pals. Putin confirmed that Germany was Russia’s leading trade partner No. 2, after China. Putin also said that the trade volume between Russia and Germany grew by 43% since last year.
Merkel piped in by saying that there are differences, but dialogue is the only way to understand each other’s position.
Where did all the talk about punishing and isolating Russia go? Where are those anti-Russian sanctions? As I predicted since 2014, ‘They’ll huff and puff for a couple of years, and then everything will get back to normal – just like it happened after 2008 Georgia – S.Ossetia war.’ I also said that the appearance of the sanctions will stay, while in reality business and trade will go on, bypassing them.
Predictions on track: 2 years after 2014, Russian trade with Germany is suddenly up by 43%. Let’s also recall that Saakashvili of Georgia was out of his presidency 2 years after he attacked S.Ossetia, and that Abkhazia and S.Ossetia would never return to Georgia. Ukraine is following closely in Georgia’s tracks.

VIDEO: Putin – Merkel joint presser, Sochi, May 2, 2017 (ENG translation)
The political part of the meeting had an entirely different tone. Merkel dragged (excuse me, brought) with her to Sochi an entire entourage of ‘journalists’ representing German MSM. The questions they asked during joint presser can only be characterised as aggressive in their ignorance and dumbness – just confirming a sorry state of the Western MSM. Listen to the questions and Putin and Merkel answers on video above.
Question from a German journalist, ‘Why did Russia interfere in US elections and is Merkel afraid of Russian interference in German election?’
Putin’s exceedingly patient and diplomatic reply: Russia never interfered in other countries’ internal affairs. The opposite is true for the West: it constantly interferes in Russian affairs. Further, Putin explained that allegations of Russian interference in the US elections have never been confirmed; it was just a rumor spread for USA’s internal political reasons; therefore, the German journalist’s assumption of Russia’s interference in German elections is based on a rumor.
Another German MSM representative called the Donbass people ‘separatists,’ to which Putin replied that the civil war and Donbass catastrophe are consequences of an illegal coup and illegal power garb in Kiev. It was Kiev that attacked the people of Donbass, forcing them to defend themselves. Putin also expressed his hope that German MSM would not twist his words and that it will have anough common dicency to publish his answer.
Merkel replied that Germany considers the Kiev authorities to be ‘legal and democratically elected.’
Merkel has made more embarrassing remarks. She implored Putin to ‘look into the reported violations of the rights of minorities,’ namely, gays in Chechnya and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Then she decided to lecture Putin on human rights. Per Frau Merkel, Russian authorities were not as gentle and nice to protesters as they should’ve been.
Putin did the absolutely correct thing by diplomatically reminding Merkel that the Russian law enforcement are gentlemen of the highest caliber compared to their Western counterparts. PUTIN: “In Europe they have no qualms about indiscriminate use of tear gas, water cannons and batons to disperse demonstrators.”

P.S. There is one more important reason May 2 was chosen for Merkel’s visit. On May 2 people in Odessa and all over the world commemorated the 3rd anniversary of the Odessa tragedy. Per reports, ahead of May 2 Poroshenko was in a frantic state, admonishing his law enforcement to make absolutely sure no ukro-nazis attack citizens attending the commemorative events. Such attacks are a regular occurrence in today’s Ukraine.
Let me reveal to you what went on behind the scenes: Poroshenko and Kiev were warned by Germany to make sure nothing happens that could look bad for Merkel during her Russian visit. Any violence against peacefully mourning citizens would confirm that Kiev junta is a terrorist regime. If any provocation took place in Odessa, Putin would have a terrific opportunity to rub Merkel’s nose in it.
Therefore, by choosing May 2, Putin allowed the people of Odessa to mourn and commemorate their friends and family in peace.

Nancy, you answered your own question. Nothing to add really.
But let’s broaden our perspective. The reasons for this move are as follows:
1. This is a general knee jerk reaction to the fact that they know they are losing and they have to show their teeth. There is no Russian aggression. If anything, just the opposite. But this is a cornered beast’s reaction to something they can’t control any more. This is the spoiled global bully’s reaction who always managed to terrorize others without recourse and suddenly it gets told that this won’t happen any more.
2. Erdogan’s threat to boot out US/NATO from Incirlik Base is relevant to this knee jerk reaction.
3. In addition, this is the continuation of the same anti-Trump time bomb installation, in order to make relations with Russia as difficult to normalize as possible.
4. This is also done to reassure NATO that it won’t be abandoned by the US – something NATO fears greatly. NATO is in panic: they may lose many of their fat gigs and much of their self-importance if Trump pulls financing.
5. Finally, this is done to reassure Merkel, Poland, Baltics, Romania and Brussels – in short, all the E. Europe and generally EU puppet states, who were installed by US/West in the 1990s to keep the Iron Curtain alive and well. These are the governments and politicians who sold out to the shadow forces and who now fear being abandoned by Trump. They have so many skeletons on their closets that now they are afraid to be left without US tanks.
7. IMPORTANT! However, it’s not Russia they are afraid of. Russia continues underscoring with all her behavior that there will be no Russian intervention either in Ukraine or any other place in E. Europe, despite the pleas of many people in Ukraine and beyond.
What these sold-out E. Europe/EU politicians are afraid of is the wrath of their own people. This will happen the moment US tanks and US advisors leave.
Therefore, the fear of the ‘potential’ Russian aggression is just a cover to dupe their electorate and to distract the people from internal problems. In reality, all these politicians, military, intelligence and MSM are afraid of their own people and of the ‘potential’ and ‘probable’ crimes tribunal.
8. ALSO IMPORTANT!
I have to underscore again that Angela Merkel is very important in this new development. She will stand for re-election in 2017, while her ratings have plunged lately, as I predicted they would, back in 2014. This is due to her disastrous domestic and international policies, most importantly: 1. due to her immigrant policies; 2. her support of the Kiev junta and illegal coup against Yanukovich; 3. her support of anti-Russian sanctions.
Merkel bet all her money on Obama and on being a US puppet, as well as the puppet of the global banking cartel. Her job has been to keep EU under control of these forces.
She also bet her entire career on the NWO and neo-liberal agenda. And this is what will bury her career. She feels threatened due to alternative parties gaining on her. Both left and right hate her; same is true for people in her own party.
She needs US tanks to keep her safe and to stop any possible uprising.
9. In general, all these NWO/US puppet EU politicians now feel under threat. Trump announced he would be against globalism, and that he would curb the US financing of NATO. Trump is also gearing to undo much of Obama’s ‘legacy.’
NATO and Obama have to show that they are still relevant. In fact, all this is a death throes hysterics.
Notice also this: masks are entirely off!
Remember all this talk about ‘AAMDS in Europe’ – one of the cornerstones of Bush-Obama policies for EU and NATO? Russians for years have been saying that the AAMDS installed in Romania and agreed to be installed in Poland, was directed against Russia. NATO/US have been adamantly insisting it was directed against potential Iran aggression against EU. In reality no one ever believed that.
Now, having been cornered, having lost their former control over global, Middle Eastern and European events, they don’t pretend any more. Fake Iran threat doesn’t cut it any more. They need a much bigger enemy. To distract their own populations from their real problems and to redirect their anger and fears towards fake external threats, they need now to point the finger at Russia. Russia had been used as a scapegoat to scare the populations in the West into submission and maligned this way since forever. I’ve seen it all my life; generations before me have witnessed the same.
Meanwhile, the only thing the populations of Europe, and of the US as well, have to fear are their own sold-out governments and media.
Unfortunately, we are dealing with some very aggressive beasts here, who won’t give up without trying to drag everyone into the abyss with them. They won’t succeed long-term, but short-term they’ll try to do whatever damage they can.
P.S. Incidentally, much of the same is happening now in Ukraine. Kiev junta is behaving both violently and bizarrely, indicating the worsening death throes.
Amid all this ugliness, there is a big and beautiful silver lining. It seems darkest before the dawn, but don’t let that fool you. Both in the US/EU and in E. Europe/Ukraine/Moldova big changes are afoot.
I know last year I promised a major Ukraine, Moldova and Pridnestrovie update. I want to share with you all some hugely positive breakthrough news from the latter two and also a lot of news from the former. The Earth Shift is underway, and Ukraine/Moldova are shifting right on schedule, per my 2014-15 predictions!

The video below is self-explanatory and it echoes what we’ve discussed in Lada Ray Reveals Putin’s Secret! Putin’s very subtle and smart strategy of working with Erdogan, despite attempts by the US coalition to put a rift between Russia and Turkey, is bearing fruit.
Of course, Turkey is now playing a game with the US, and it may short-term agree to certain bribes in exchange for the prolonged US/NATO stay at Incirlik Air Base. This is also a way for Erdogan to try and get some additional bargains from the incoming Trump administration.
But the issue runs much deeper. It is part of an existential crisis within NATO and within the entire Western model of international relations. In other words, it is part of the ongoing EARTH SHIFT.
LADA RAY LONG-TERM PREDICTION ON US & NATO AT INCIRLIK:
Turkey will eventually boot US/NATO out of Incirlik Air Base. This will serve as one of the decisive nails in the NATO coffin. This will take a few years (2-3, most likely) but it’ll happen.
Similar revolts against NATO and certain other Western-imposed institutions, such as EU and Western-based banking system, will soon begin in other countries of Europe and beyond.
VANGA’S PROPHECY – WHAT I SEE

1. Erdogan is difficult and hard to trust, but he has many buttons to push. He also isn’t stupid. US and allies made a lot of mistakes with him and he knows he can’t trust them. On the other hand, he knows he can trust Russia and Putin – see ESR13: ERDOGAN’S WAR for the full spread. They literally tried to make him into Gaddafi 2.0. Putin saw it and played it just right.
2. Erdogan also sees the writing on the wall for where the wind blows in the future, which is away from the US and towards Russia.
3. Vanga is awesome – love her dearly – but she wasn’t always right. Plus Bulgarians always had an emotional hatred towards the Turks due to the Ottoman invasion. Also, the problem with long-term prophecies is that there are too many variables and the timeline changes. Spreads are very large.
4. War may have been cosmically ‘intended’ through all past provocations and Turkey-Russia rift attempts of which I wrote in ESRs and FT articles. Vanga may have seen that timeline, where US/Saudi provocations do succeed and Russia reacts differently. But as we see, Putin has dealt with the situation and turned it around. I expected no less of him and Russia.

- ABSOLUTELY NO WAR BETWEEN TURKEY & RUSSIA. THIS WON’T HAPPEN.
- THERE MAY BE SOME MINOR FRACTURING OF TURKEY IN THE NEXT 5-10 YEARS, BUT NOT TOO MUCH.
- RUSSIA ISN’T INTERESTED IN THE BREAKUP OF TURKEY AND WILL DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP TURKEY AS INTACT AS POSSIBLE – THIS WAS FIRST PREDICTED IN ESR7.
- PERHAPS TURKEY WON’T REMAIN 100% INTACT AS WE KNOW IT TODAY, BUT NOT FULLY FRACTURED EITHER. AGAIN, DON’T UNDERESTIMATE ERDOGAN AND THE POPULATION’S SUPPORT FOR HIM! SOME LESS VALUABLE INLAND TERRITORIES MAY POSSIBLY SECEDE AND BECOME KURDISH – BUT NOT MUCH (and this isn’t a guarantee either). HOWEVER, THE MOST VALUABLE COASTAL LANDS WILL REMAIN UNDER TURKISH FLAG DURING THE NEXT 10-20 YEARS AT LEAST.

RAKETA NEWS: Russia in Syria, Turkey Accuses US of Aiding ISIL, Obama vs. Trump
On December 18-19 I sent to many of you the email in which I wrote:
LADA RAY’S MINI-PROGNOSIS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON 2016-2017 & BEYOND
This promises to be an unusually tumultuous and uncertain Holiday Season. In the US the accusations and attempts to overturn the election results will continue. In the following 2017 and 2018 the divisions and fights of global elites and within various countries promise to escalate, becoming more complex and confusing. Please hold on to your chair as the ongoing GREAT EARTH SHIFT gains its momentum during the rest of this decade.
These are the times when we all need a special infusion of light, peace and higher energy, as well as a reminder of our true mission on this planet.
Not sooner I wrote this that the situation on various fronts of this complex global 4D hybrid war began branching out with new and more bizarre twists. ‘Hold on to your chair’ is exactly the right term to use. It is with great sorrow (and not intending any puns whatsoever), I can say that it will be very rocky.
The assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, followed by a surreal incident in Siberia, where over 70 people died of fake alcohol poisoning. And now, the Tu-154 Black Sea catastrophe, where there are only questions – and seemingly, no answers. As I promised, I will have a separate analytical piece on the Tu-154.
After that, I would like to spend the New Year’s with something joyful and positive, despite all the disturbing events happening in the world at this time. We all need a break from all this madness. Unfortunately, those who plan these ugly and destructive events do not rest. They know that people are more relaxed during holidays and they try to strike at the time when everyone’s not paying attention and when, therefore, we are more vulnerable.
So, my advice to you during this holiday season: be alert and pay attention. If you need to travel somewhere, do so carefully! Stay safe and stay warm!
I’ll be taking a couple of days off for the New Year’s. But I’ll be online and I’ll try to post something positive. I hope nothing truly crazy happens during the next week or so and we can celebrate in peace. I hope you join me for the virtual celebration here on FT and Lada Ray YT channel. There is an avalanche of Ukraine developments as well. Many, many interesting and explosive developments. The situation, per above mini-forecast, is becoming more and more confusing. But for those who understand the logic of the events, it is going exactly as I predicted in 2014. The end of the junta is nearing, the people are awakening and US is preparing to drop Ukraine. Trump is already positioning himself to make it happen in 2017. Savchenko is in the news again. There are so many Ukraine news and events that I’ll have a separate, big piece on that. Expect it around Jan. 1 or 2.

My intel: last ditch effort by Obama admin and Congress to spoil relations with Russia. US tries to adopt new anti-Russian sanctions, Russia promises to respond in like, should that happen. As predicted: Obama acts like a brat that he is, but it goes much deeper than that. He and his handlers go out of their way to make future Trump administration’s life as hard as possible.
Losing the war and showing their true colors, US/EU supported ‘moderate opposition’ poisoned Damascus water supply.
And this is something positive from Syria. The Russian song flash mob has taken over the world and it shows no signs of abating. It travels from Russia and Ukraine, to Moldova, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Greece, Switzerland, Germany and Canada. Obama/USA’s many failures in the Middle East and beyond
TURKEY
Erdogan: ‘Confirmed evidence’ US-led coalition supports ISIL & other terrorists in Syria.
This accusation comes shortly after FMs of Russia, Iran and Turkey met and agreed to join forces to fight terrorism. This alliance, absolutely impossible to imagine just a few short months ago due to rivalry and animosity between Iran and Turkey, sent a clear signal that the previously indispensable US and EU have been given a cold shoulder and sidetracked in the Middle East.
But that’s not all.
ISRAEL REBELLION – recall that I predicted this in ESR6!
Israel claims it has clear proof Obama pushed UN settlement vote. Netanyahu accuses US in ‘betraying Israel’ and promises to bring this up with Trump’s administration. Israelis have been generally complaining about US abandoning them in the past 5 years.
I know Israel in itself and the true nature of Israel-US relations are confusing to many. There are lots of hoaxes floating around on that. But hang on to your chair. It’s about to get even more confusing and interesting. Trump will likely try to get relations with Israel back on track. But one can’t step twice into the same river. We are entering very different times.
USA
US media acting as a mouthpiece for Al-Qaeda (Hard to believe – not! After all, it is the terrorist organization they once created against Russia.)
In closing: Obama has said something to the effect that if he ran against Trump, he would have won. Trump tweeted back something like ‘in your dreams.’ Well, I couldn’t agree more.

Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov Assassinated in Ankara! Cui Bono?
The Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, was fatally wounded after a gunman stormed into a building where the opening ceremony of a Russian photo exhibition was being held. Karlov, a career diplomat of 40 years, who previously was Russian ambassador to N. Korea, died shortly after. Andrey Karlov was instrumental in mending Russia-Turkey relations in the past year. following the shooting down of the Russian Su24 jet in 2015 . He was also a key negotiator in the cessation of hostilities and evacuation of ISIS militants from Aleppo.
Three other people were reported injured as a result of the shooting.
Russian Foreign Minsitry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova: this is a tragic day for Russian diplomacy. It is a terrorist act.
The embassy row in Ankara, Turkey, is located near the government buildings, with the Russian embassy located very close to the US embassy. It is supposedly a heavily guarded, high security area; therefore, ambassadors themselves don’t carry much security.
This happens just one day before Turkish FM is scheduled to go to Moscow. This also happens as Russia attempts to enlist Turkey and Erdogan as mediators to help resolve the Syria and Aleppo crisis and to help convince some of the militants Turkey influences to lay down arms and/or withdraw from the area.
It is clear that the attack is designed to sabotage Russia-Turkey negotiations, rekindle distrust and animosity, and put a stop to the renewed Turkish Stream project.
CUI BONO?
First, who doesn’t benefit? Turkey and Erdogan, who just got the relations with Russia going again. After the downing of the Russian Su24 jet and killing of the Russian pilot, the relations soured, Russian tourism, imports and economic cooperation were withdrawn, creating massive crisis in Turkish economy. Russia also withdrew the Turkish Stream and Akkuyu nuclear plant projects.
After Putin helped Erdogan avert the CIA-organized military coup and Erdogan apologized for the Su24 incident, relations began to mend. The re-opening of the Russian tourism was announced and the Turkish Stream and Akkuyu nuclear plant projects are again a go.
At the same time, Turkey’s ambivalent role and contradictory actions in Syria have continued. Part of it is due to Erdogan’s war on Kurds, and part, the ‘protection of the so-called ‘Turkoman’ contingent, many of whom are part of the terrorist groups in Syria.
By inviting Turkey to play a mediator role and including Erdogan in the peace process in Syria, Russia attempts to change the game and shift the direction of Erdogan’s ambitions in the Middle East.
Ambassador Andrey Karlov was at the epicenter of these negotiations. It is clear that the forces who want to prevent the shift from happening are behind his killing. These same forces managed to derail cooperation and trust between Turkey and Russia by downing Su24 in 2015. Having succeeded then, they want to again try the same number.
The target is: sabotaging negotiations and reviving distrust. They hope that after the killing of the ambassador, Russia again withdraws from negotiations with Turkey on Syria. The game is even more insidious: those who organized this assassination also want Russia to withdraw YET AGAIN from the Turkish Stream.
Who benefits? This is the question we always have to answer in cases like this. Obviously, those who don’t want resolution of the Syria crisis, and those who don’t want Turkish Stream to go through.
These are ISIS and other extremist and militant Islamist groups in the Middle East. But it would be naive to think that such groups could easily infiltrate the high security government and embassy area. Someone who has easy access must help out.
What embassy is located next to the Russian ebassy? That of the USA. Who recently said that Trump is Putin’s agent; who has sour grapes after Russian wins in Syria, loss of their operatives and trained militans; who announced that Russians hacked into DNC and who is trying to push Hillary into the White House? The White House, Hillary/Soros/democrats, and the CIA: all those who are very well positioned to help out a willing terrorist, and who’ve been known to do so on many occasions.
There are also the following entities: Qatar, Saudi Arabia and, of course, the sold-out EU elites. Some, or all, of these are behind Karlov’s assassination.
There is also the issue of retaliation against Russia for the following:
1. Russian retaliation against the Aleppo Operations Room, executed after the US coalition attack on the Syrian army. Russian missile strike killed 30 Western, Israeli, Saudi, Qatari and Turkish officers, who were illegally directing the terrorist strikes against Syrian army.

2. As a result of the Syrian army liberating Aleppo, with Russian assistance, a number of Western coalition ISIS instructors and special troops were captured. Some of them were shown, with names announced – but not all. I got a word from the Russian side that some valuable US/Western assets have been kept behind the scenes as future bargaining chips. I would be amiss not to mention that the Kiev junta of Ukraine also benefits. After the Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 2 are finished, Ukraine will lose its Russian gas transiter status. This is also the reason the EU elites want to sabotage both Nord Stream and Turkish Stream.

Afterthought. Affordable winter holiday spots near warm sea are very important for many Russians. Due to cold Russian winters, Russians need to recuperate and get a nice infusion of the sun during cold season. After the Western-engineered collapse of the ruble, European Mediterranean became unaffordable for many.
Turkey and Egypt provide such well-organized budget destinations. Many resorts in Turkey and Egypt have been almost exclusively geared towards Russian tourism. This is another reason Russians have been targeted in both of these countries (remember the bombing of the Russian passenger plane in Egypt, with 224 people on board dead?). The target is, among other things, the well-being and health of the Russian population.
This is a part of the hybrid war. It is truly sick and could only be born inside sick minds of those who routinely mastermind global disasters. We know who these entities are: apart from the Islamist terrorists, who are just pawns, these are CIA and other Western organizations, Saudis and Qatar.

BREAKING NEWS! Iraq announced that it has opened free passage through its airspace for strategic Russian bombers flying to bomb Daesh terrorists in Syria. I’ve just heard this and decided to share a few of my initial thoughts.
Just a day prior, Iran announced that it now hosts Russian troops at Hamadan Base.

While Russia has bases in Syria, the airfields there aren’t equipped to host Russian heavy strategic bombers. Up till now, these bombers had to fly from Russian territory. Iraq has been angling to ask Russia for meaningful help with fighting ISIS on its territory since Russia’s first successes in Syria, but Iraq was forbidden to seek Russia’s help by the US. The reason Iraq is suddenly so audacious, is the one I outlined in ESR13: the US elections distraction.
As I also explained in ESR13 and in my latest piece Explosive Consequences of Putin-Erdogan St.Petersburg Meeting and Earth Shifting Changes it Foretells!, Erdogan has been insistently offering its flagship Incirlik Air Base, presently occupied by US/NATO, to Russia.

Putin never does anything just for the sake of just sending one message, even a message as important as the one of new alliance with the Iran-Azerbaijan axis. The deal with Iran was a secret part of multi-directional practical negotiations Putin conducted with Iranian president on 8/8/16 in Baku, Azerbaijan: for complete details and my analysis read ESR13: ERDOGAN’S WAR. As it so often happens lately, US again has been embarrassingly caught, excuse the apt American expression, with its pants down. They simply had no idea both Iran and Iraq could pull this off, just like previously US completely missed Russia’s Syria move.
The inability to analyze and anticipate the moves by USA’s main ‘threat’ and No. 1 ‘enemy’ – their words, not mine – is yet another sign of the slowly rotting death of the failing US Empire.
The side benefit of mega-proportions Iran gets from hosting Russian base is that now Iran is 100% protected from any possible aggression by US and/or Israel. Obviously such Russian operation on its territory requires Russia’s cutting-edge full-scale surveillance and protections in place.
Now, Iraq next door is drooling over this. Their biggest dream is to somehow boot out the entrenched US military and host Russians on their territory instead – not much of a ‘thank you for liberating us from Saddam’ is going around those parts. Incidentally, Afghanistan government and military, as was hinted on many times, is dreaming of same.
We are going through a monumental Earth Shift. Get ready for a lot more changes you’ve never dreamed were possible!
P.S. China announced that it’s sending its troops to help Syrian government and Russians/Iranians in Syria. A true coalition is forming in front of out very eyes, and a true cooperation is afoot – something US has refused to do for years. The latest announcements by Iran, Iraq, China and Turkey are yet another loss of face for US and yet another sign of how weak and useless NATO is.

EXPLOSIVE CONSEQUENCES OF THE 8/9/16 PUTIN-ERDOGAN MEETING IN ST. PETERSBURG
& THE EARTH SHIFTING CHANGES IT FORETELLS!
Putin and Erdogan met in St. Petersburg on August 9, 2016. The meeting followed the failed Turkish coup and an equally failed double attack by Ukraine on Crimea, which occurred between 5 and 7 of August. Erdogan made sure he emphasized that Russia was the first country he visited after surviving the coup. This is diplomatic speak to underline the special importance of said country.
Just prior to the meeting, Erdogan threatened to boot out US military from Turkish NATO bases and instead, let the Russians use them. A turnaround especially stunning, considering Turkey’s long-standing NATO membership and the 2015 story with Turkey shooting down the Russian Su24 and killing the Russian pilot.
Throughout ESR13, you have read all about these developments, complete with my secret intel, theories and revelations. When I released ESR13 on August 8 just before the Putin-Erdogan meeting, I also explained the staggeringly important role this meeting and Turkey-Russia negotiations would play in the ongoing Earth Shift (also see TRENDS & PREDICTIONS). Changes of great magnitude are afoot, and Erdogan-Putin meeting is one of the harbingers.
In this addendum I will tell you what really happened during the Erdogan-Putin meeting.
Erdogan repeatedly called Putin ‘esteemed Vladimir’ or ‘esteemed Russian President Putin,’ which is a very Middle Eastern way of offering an olive branch and underscoring how important the counterpart is to you. Putin, as far as I could tell, echoed that just once with ‘esteemed President Erdogan.’ No first name basis here.
In the report I predicted that Russia would be cautious with Turkey after the Su24 incident. The signal on the Turkish side was very clear: ‘we very much want to make up and be in good graces again.’ On the Russian side: ‘sure, we are all for it, and here are our immediate signs of good will, but other than that, we’ll see how you behave going forward, shall we?’
Before departing to Russia for the meeting, Erdogan made an announcement that much time was lost and that Turkey was eager to get back on track with two extremely important projects: Turkish Stream and Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.

The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (Turkish: Akkuyu Nükleer Enerji Santrali) is a nuclear power plant under construction at Akkuyu, in Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. It will be the country’s first nuclear power plant. In May 2010, Russia and Turkey signed an agreement that a subsidiary of Rosatom — Akkuyu NGS Elektrik Uretim Corp. (APC: Akkuyu Project Company) — would build, own, and operate a power plant at Akkuyu comprising four 1,200 MW VVER units. Engineering and survey work started at the site in 2011. The construction of the first unit was to begin in 2016, with the four units put into service in 2022–25. In 2013, Russian nuclear construction company Atomstroyexport (ASE) and Turkish construction company Ozdogu signed the site preparation contract. The official launch ceremony took place in April 2015.

In ESR13 we discussed the mis-adventures of South Stream and Turkish Stream, along with reasons why it was so important for the US and Germany to sabotage them.
Akkuyu is a somewhat different story. Russians gave Turkey an amazing deal as part of the pre-2015 push to get Turkey on the Russian side and away from US influence. Part of the deal was that Russia would finance and build the power plant, with profits for its exploitation deferred for a number of years. The deal was an absolute windfall for Turkey, which would greatly reduce, or eliminate all-together the long-standing energy shortage basically for free. Then Turkish treacherous actions took place, including ISIS/Daesh help and the shooting down of Su24. Throughout the meeting, Erdogan kept referring to it as ‘the unfortunate event.’
Erdogan and other Turkish officials/businesspeople arriving to Russia all confirmed how eager they were to restart both Akkuyu, whose construction was supposed to begin in 2016, and Turkish Stream. Too much time has been lost, Erdogan kept repeating like a mantra.
In other words, they acted exactly as I predicted. Meanwhile, Russia also acted as I predicted: willingly, but cautiously.
Russians agreed to restart the Akkuyu project. A large part of the negotiations was behind the closed doors, to avoid various sabotage attempts from the same parties that organized Su24 downing and the Turkish coup. I am sure many details of various deals will never be announced before the deals actually materialize into reality. However, the general intel I have received is that Russians have renegotiated the earlier deals in a more beneficial way, since Turkey came back in a greatly weakened position.
Turkey is equally eager to get back on track with Turkish Stream. “We lost a lot of time” was repeated over and over in a somewhat contrite (amazing for a Muslim country) manner. Turkey underscored how much they wanted to get back to the lucrative international project Russians practically gifted to them in 2015.
However, that’s when a bucket of cold water was dumped on Turkey. Putin has re-affirmed that Russia remained committed to Turkish Stream, but only if and when Turkey obtains written legal guarantees from the EU that Europe wants Russian gas arriving via Turkish Stream and that EU cooperation is forthcoming.
Russia has also confirmed that they will restart Turkish Stream where it concerns Turkish internal gas supply only. In other words, for now the project is scaled down to the bilateral Russia-Turkey pipeline. Turkey, as I pointed out in previous ESRs, is suffering from energy shortages and high consumer energy prices. This includes electric power, as well as fuel for heating and cooking – many still use wood-burning and very polluting old-fashioned stoves, even in big centers such as Istanbul and Ankara. Therefore, it’s a necessary project, but not of the scale and scope that was initially intended. However, the same surveys and foundation used for Turkish pipe can be used later to expand it to continue to Europe, when the landscape changes. And it will change.
Additionally, it’s actually good to advertize officially the scaled down version of the project – this may, at least in part, discourage future attacks by the US. It’s a hybrid war and rule number 1 is: don’t advertize your moves to the enemy.
As I explained in ESR13 above, the sabotage of South Stream, and later of Turkish Stream, were necessary to delay the breakup of the predatory US Empire. South Stream – Turkish Stream would give a lot more sovereignty to Southern and Central Europe, leading to the weakening of the EU with subsequent breakup, and in turn, weakening US positions.
And another breaking news! As Turkey was proclaiming how eager they were to restart Turkish Stream, Bulgaria suddenly announced that they have again changed their minds and were now ready to host South Stream (read the entire story of Bulgaria’s flip-flop and South Stream sabotage in ESR13 and in ESR7: The battle for Eurasia! TURKISH CONUNDRUM). In other words, suddenly there is eager competition between countries to host Russian pipelines. Add to that Germany and Nord Stream 2. The healthy competition is very good, and it will push one of these projects through that much faster. I already told you in ESR13 which project it will be…
Here are two important questions for you to consider, which, once answered, will reveal the true meaning of this big geopolitical game. They’ll explain why ukro-nazi coup in Ukraine had to be executed, why Su24 had to be shot down and why Turkey, EU and Russia had to be kept as enemies:
1. Why is suddenly Bulgaria so brave and wants back into the Russian gas game, after having chickened out the moment Uncle Sam said ‘No’?
2. What will happen to Ukraine after all these projects go through and its old Soviet pipeline becomes obsolete?
Answers:
1. Make no mistake: Bulgaria really wanted to host the very lucrative South Stream and its refusal to do so is due only to its absolute lack of any sovereignty. Bulgaria is suddenly so brave because this is election time in the US. At this time, US is distracted with the elections and the sell-out Bulgarian government thinks they could sneak in South Stream unnoticed. But just think how puppet and spineless it really is if a simple visit by John McCain had previously put a stop to South Stream. I think South Stream is still preferred, and I can see that Russians may be thinking along the same lines. But its continuation may only be possible when this puppet government is replaced with a very different, sovereignty-minded type of government. Due to the nature of Bulgaria as an extremely apathetic and inertia-ridden state, this will take a while.
2. After pipelines bypassing Ukraine are built, Ukraine will stop having as much value to the US and they’ll drop it as a hot potato, which in turn will cause the bandit regime of ukro-nazi Kiev junta and its pro-US oligarchic clan to implode. This will free up the genuine forces of liberation and Ukraine will make a swift turnaround towards its historic, political and economic ties with Russia. The problem with the territory we presently refer to as Ukraine is that it is an intrinsic part of the Russian World that was successfully infected with a virus of hatred towards everything Russian. Ukraine was targeted specifically because Russians never concealed how important Ukraine was to Russia. The US/West’s logic: If Ukraine is that important, then it is necessary to tear it away. This was why the 2014 Kiev coup was necessary from USA’s standpoint.
One of the major difficulties of dealing with Ukraine’s situation for Russia right now is the fact that the all-Russian/Soviet infrastructure was built as one system, spanning all ex-republics. Therefore, Russian gas pipeline to the EU ran through Ukraine, delivering at its height up to 70% of Russian gas to Europe. Now it’s down to 25% or so. This was a major pressure point against Russia throughout 2000s. You may remember the sudden gas stoppages as a result of Ukraine’s sabotage and stealing of European gas. The manipulation of Russia by the US and various anti-Russian interests through the Ukraine pipe reached staggering proportions, culminating in the 2014 coup.
Therefore, getting the pipe away from Ukraine is a blessing for all: Russia, EU and Ukraine, as well. Ukraine, or what’s left of it, will finally be left alone and allowed to rebuild itself (probably as several separate states and territories associated with Russia).
Therefore, one way or another, more pipelines bypassing Ukraine will be built no matter what. The only question is which countries will end up benefiting from the pipeline going through their territory. This will be determined by how quick on their feet and cooperative these countries are, plus, how smart and sovereign they are. As I said, I know which pipeline will be built first – and it’s all in the report!
In addition to all the above, Turkey continued asking for Russia to remove bans on tourism, air traffic, Turkish agricultural produce imports and Turkish construction companies working in Russia. Turkey made a killing in these areas and Russian money really supported Turkish economy, until Russia put the bans in place following the downing of the Su24.
Russians promised that they would be removing bans little by little. Read: depending on how you behave, we’ll see what we can do. For the time being the tourism ban has been removed and charter flights to Turkey may be resumed soon. However, the terrorist warning for Turkey is still in place and only the most brave dare to go there. Russians aren’t in a hurry to let construction and produce imports back in: they’ll give more time for domestic companies to strengthen and take bigger share of the market.
Unthinkable just recently: Turkey-Russia cooperation in Syria!
After the meeting with ‘esteemed Vladimir’ Erdogan announced that Turkey is inviting Russia to fight jointly against ISIS/Daesh in Syria. This is yet another move by Turkey to spite US and NATO, following earlier threats to boot US troops out of Turkish bases, and after a clash with Germany.
This is a staggering, unthinkable just recently announcement! After all, Turkey just recently helped ISIS/Al-Nusra/Muslim Brotherhood terrorists and Syria/Assad has been Erdogan/Turkey’s mortal enemy. Read all about that in ESR7: TURKISH CONUNDRUM.
We may soon hear announcements about certain Russia-Turkey joint missions. In my view, Russia will continue being cautious with involving Turkish militarily, until they are sure they can trust them. However, getting Turkey on Russia’s side in Syria and Black Sea vicinity – and on these new, more favorable to Russia conditions – is a huge, huge, HUGE win.
It’s also a HUGE humiliation and loss of face for the US. It has already, and it will continue leading to the weakening of the US and NATO.
We should expect Turkey cooperating with Russia in shutting down its border to Syrian terrorist supplies, oil, money and weapon smuggling. We can also expect better cooperation in securing Black Sea, such as not allowing certain US military ships through and cooperating in allowing faster passage for Russian ships through the straits. All these are still stop-gap measures. As I explained in the report, the issue of Black Sea and Straits has to be resolved in principle: all outsider military ships (read: US military ships, since no other outside country does that) have to be banned from entering. Only the military ships of countries bordering Black Sea should be allowed in Black Sea.
The extreme value of Black Sea, and therefore, the frantic activity around it, is due to one factor only: it is the soft and vulnerable underbelly of Russia. Therefore, surrounding Russia with unfriendly regimes has been US/UK strategy for hundreds of years. I explained how it all works in ESR8: BLACK SEA GAMBIT.
The value and relative vulnerability of Crimea is derived directly from the same. The recent attack by Ukraine on Crimea is correlated with the rest of the events we’ve talked about. I am preparing a new Earth Shift Report, which will address the recent attacks on Crimea, why they happened and why now, who benefits, how it will impact Ukraine’s future, how US elections may be impacted, and whether Russia will sever diplomatic ties with Ukraine. We’ll also discuss the future of Crimea. Expect the new ESR: THE CRIMEA FACTOR in August 2016.
Keeping up with pretenses, the US State Dept announced that they were not bothered by Turkish cooperation with Russia at all, and that ‘US strategy in Syria didn’t change.’ However, that is not because US feels just fine about Turkish move. If it were up to them, Erdogan would be dead right this moment and pro-US Turkish generals would be in power. It’s simply because they are out of options. This is a serious defeat for the US Empire.
That said, US won’t leave Turkey alone. It will attempt more coups, terror acts, etc. Same goes for Russia. And remember, Russian elections are coming. Moreover, US elections have a direct bearing on all these events as well. How? Stay tuned for new Earth Shift Reports, in which all this will be revealed!
Why Putin chose to meet with Erdogan not in Moscow but in St. Petersburg
Perhaps very subtly, this is also a message. St. Petersburg was once founded by Peter the Great as then landlocked Russian Empire’s first serious international port in the Baltic Sea, designed for the new Western-prevalence era of 17th -20th centuries (in prior millennium, the ancient Rus peoples, with their multiple centers of influence, of course, had various ports on different continents). Peter called the St. Pete port: ‘a window to Europe.’
The new strategy of the US/West has been to shut and bolt down this window to Western Europe, creating a New Iron Curtain from Baltic to Black Sea via a cordon of unfriendly to Russia regimes. It was a partial success, with Romania, 3 ex-Soviet Baltic mini-states and Poland joining the cordon. A snag happened in the middle of the Baltic-Black Sea Iron Curtain, when Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary wisely decided to stay neutral to kind-of-friendly to Russia. It also turned out that converting Belarus into anti-Russia didn’t work no matter what. But Ukraine became the clincher. After 2004 color revolution, only a partial success was achieved. In 2014 the success was complete with a total Ukraine subversion. Turkey and Bulgaria were also supposed to be part of the Iron Curtain. Bulgaria turned reluctantly, only with a partial success, while Turkey refused to be easy.
The grand total of this entire scheme is that the Iron Curtain isn’t working as well as the Transatlantic masters want it to work. Moreover, it is so shaky it may just topple any moment at one’s slight touch. The most important factor in the unreliability of this flimsy Iron Curtain is that Russia/Putin refused to play by West’s rules and began creating their own rules, thus changing the reality around them and beginning to fulfill Russia’s true destiny as the Great Global Balancer and Stabilizer.
Therefore, we see a signal, which, it appears, few have understood: Turkish president Erdogan, who was supposed to be responsible for locking down the Black Sea end of the Iron Curtain, meets Putin in his native city of St. Petersburg, the place where Russia’s biggest Baltic Sea ports are, often called ‘Russia’s window to Europe.’ In the more modern terms: Nord Stream 2 is to be laid through the bottom of Baltic Sea; Turkish Stream – through Black Sea.
Consequently, the recipient is known and the message is: ‘The New Iron Curtain has failed.’
P.S. Why following Erdogan’s visit Putin met with Armenian president
On August 10, one day after the breakthrough meeting with Erdogan, Vladimir Putin received president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. As I also said in the above report, on August 8, one day before Erdogan, Putin met in Azerbaijan with Iranian and Azeri presidents.
As usual, nothing happens by accident in the global chess game. Armenia and Turkey are mortal enemies. So are Iran and Turkey. Azerbaijan and Armenia, unfortunately, are also enemies, with continuing armed conflicts. All these mutual animosities are used by outside forces to manipulate various countries against each other and to destabilize the region. By contrast, Russia’s goal as the Global Balancer, is to stabilize and harmonize the region and the whole planet.
By meeting with Armenian leader right after all others, the relative closeness of the EAEU member Armenia to Russia is underscored. A signal is sent that Russia’s deals with Turkey or Azerbaijan do not mean Russia has forgotten her ally Armenia. At the same time, by meeting neck to neck with leaders of all these rival countries, Putin sends a signal of cooperation and unification to all of them.
‘It’s much better to cooperate and get along’ is Russia’s message. Enough with the archaic ‘divide and conquer,’ used by the US Empire. A better way, based on cooperation and mutually beneficial, peaceful relations, is shown by Russia. The world is tired of wars and people aren’t blind. They can see that Russia is the only country that can unite – as opposed to divide – various countries.

These ESRs just get better and better. Thirteen is definitely a smart bomb, as in bombshell report. This is really good intel and presented in a cogent and highly interesting manner. I trust Erdogan as far as I can throw him but I’m confident that Putin will handle him just fine.
Now we wait for the next set of dirty tricks from the West. I bet the coding on those nukes at Incirlic is changing every 24 hours now. So… I want to know more about Syria… especially the presidente and his beautiful wife. Are they bad guys or are they doing good for Syria like Qaddafi was doing for Libya? US nukes in Turkey
Yes, it is becoming dangerous to keep US nukes in Turkey, that’s why Erdogan has so much leverage over US & NATO, which I expect him to use. He’ll be playing double game, as I explained in ESR13. Basically, US/NATO are his hostages and this will eventually end badly. Definitely expect more events in Turkey, such as terror acts, Kurds’ uprisings, etc. But Erdogan isn’t a dummy. If provoked, he’ll retaliate vs. US/NATO, as he demonstrated already. Eventually this will lead to breakup. For now, it’ll continue weakening and eroding NATO.
Who is Assad; is he good or evil?
Every country deserves its president. Not everything had been smooth in the past, and the word ‘tyrant’ sounded now and then in regards to Assad’s father, Hafez al-Assad. There were accusations of supposed chemical attacks, ‘autocratic rule’ and ‘slaughter of the innocents’ against Hafez, and more recently, Bashar al-Assad, by ‘Syrian opposition.’ However, knowing who finances said ‘opposition,’ we should take anything they say with a giant rock of salt.
There may have been tyrannical tendencies by Assad Sr. But Bashar al-Assad isn’t like his father; he is a pretty mild-mannered man, a physician by trade, who didn’t want to be at the helm of the country. Sounding strange for a Western or Russian ear, in the Middle East the term ‘president’ is in fact psychologically equated with a hereditary sultan. In such circumstances, shall we say, destiny called him to duty.
I can tell you confidently that he was meant to be where he is. Assad is just what his country needs right now; he’s the only person capable of uniting Syria and its multi-national, multi-confessional population. He clearly enjoys a large majority support.
The so-called opposition can only be this aggressive and this demanding that he should step down because US supports and encourages it. Take away US support and financing and the opposition won’t have nearly as much pull. That said, a certain amount of opposition and healthy criticism is good for any country, and should be present to keep powers that be in line.
However, what’s happening in Syria is clearly foreign-induced, by entities whose interests are contrary to the interests of the people of Syria. Assad has some vicious Middle East neighbors, specifically Saudis and Qatar, who try to use weaknesses to arm those who oppose him; and of course there’s the US factor, bent on regional destabilization at all cost. Assad’s biggest crime is that he didn’t succumb to US/Qatar/Saudis pressure and maintained his sovereign, friendly to Russia and Iran, stance. For this he is being punished.
If we knew nothing else about Assad, if we just knew that he didn’t succumb to threats or bribes of the US and Saudis/Qatar – that alone would be enough, in my opinion, to form a positive opinion of him.
Considering he didn’t even want to be at the helm of the country, his steadfastness, presence of mind and quiet courage are phenomenal. And yes, his wife, Asma al-Assad, is very lovely; she is definitely the queen material – and I mean not by birth, but by her aura and poise. I believe she is the right person to stand by him, and from the energy I perceive, she is, in big part, the one who gives him courage to withstand the enormous pressure. They both have demonstrated that they are made of a lot sturdier and quality material than many anticipated.
I had previously compared Assad to Qaddafi. The problem with Qaddafi is that he naively and short-sightedly believed he could bargain with the US/West. Assad never did. Another problem: Qaddafi failed to make friends and that was what in the end got him killed. Assad made sure he had some very serious friends, as Syrian events have shown. Much of Qaddafi’s problems apply to Saddam, who didn’t believe till last moment the West could begin a full-scale war against him. Incidentally, Russians warned Saddam, but he brushed these warnings aside! He also bet on the wrong horse. This is the crucial difference between Assad and the other two.
Till recently, Turkey was among those who attacked Assad and demanded his resignation. But soon after August 9 Putin’s meeting with Erdogan, we’ll see a drastic turnaround in Turkey’s attitude towards Syria.

Btw, could you please substitute the term “ISIS” (it’s better to say Isil, IS, Daesh). “Isis” is an old Egyptian and Greece goddess. She was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. Words matter …

I can certainly understand the indignation at the usage of ISIS, which sounds just like Isis. It reminds me how Hitler usurped Swastika, the beautiful ancient symbol of our sun/galaxy, as well as the word Arian, turning both evil. There are other similar cases in history.
I sympathize with the emotional response of those who follow the Isis worship. It seems doubly unfair that a word symbolizing the sacred feminine is seemingly usurped by an extremist anti-women’s rights, Islamist sect. Like others, I also emotionally dislike that such nice words have been tarnished by darkness.
However, in my geopolitical and multi-dimensional analysis I invite you to get beyond emotions and to the very core of the truth.
Words are just tools, much like a hammer is a tool; they are neutral. Hammer can be used to build a lovely home, or it can be misused to inflict bodily harm. Same with words.
Alas, dark entities and deeds may turn words evil that have been neutral, or formerly carried a positive meaning. Look how evil entities managed to turn the formerly lovely Ukraine into a terrorist state, making the word ‘Ukraine’ highly undesirable, and even hated. The very words ‘evil’ and ‘darkness’ did not originally carry any negative connotation. It were humans who assigned them such connotation to fill the gap within the third-dimensional reality of duality and contrast.
Therefore, rising above third-dimensional duality, ISIS is an abbreviation, not a word, and it is the most accurate term. It’s unfortunate that it coincides with the name of goddess Isis. ISIS means Islamic State of Iraq & Syria.
IS – Islamic State – is not accurate since it may be confused with any random legitimate Islamic state on the planet, and I can see many objecting to that. Besides, it’s also what ISIS calls itself: why would you want to indulge the terrorists and call them their preferred name?
ISIL is equally inaccurate: it means Islamic State of Iraq & Levant. Levant is an outdated British colonial term, referring to the large territory, including Syria, Libya, Lebanon and Egypt. Hence, it refers to Western colonialism, plus, it implies the enlarged territory of ISIS. Instead of shrinking it, which should be everyone’s goal, ISIL assigns it more territory, in concurrence with USA’s goal in the Middle East. Therefore, ISIL is a subtle mind-manipulation, and so is IS.
You may have noticed that I usually qualify it by calling it ISIS/Daesh/Al Nusra, therefore there can be no mistake that I am NOT referring to the ancient goddess, but to the Islamist terrorism phenomenon.
Hope my comprehensive explanation is sufficient to put this issue to rest.
Afterthoughts + Announcements
The world continues going through a tectonic Earth Shift, and everything around us is accelerating. I can’t believe that it’s been barely three days since I published ESR13: ERDOGAN’S WAR! So much has happened since, and continues happening!
On August 9 Putin hosted Erdogan and scores of Turkish military, politicians & business people, who were eager to get back on track and begin making deals. Huge turnarounds in various spheres are already happening, big announcements are being made (at least by Turkish and Bulgarian sides) in regards to Turkish Stream/South Stream, NATO bases and US precarious position in Turkey, plus the new page in Russia-Turkey-Syria relations. As you’ve read in ESR13, just before Erdogan, Putin met with leaders of Azerbaijan and Iran. The next day after Erdogan, Putin received the president of Armenia. All these events, following each other in close proximity, are interconnected. New, just recently unimaginable, alliances are starting to materialize. As predicted in ESR13, all this is a huge win for Russia and a huge loss for the US.
I’ve promised you all an update on Erdogan – Putin St. Petersburg meeting, the surrounding events and their Earth Shifting consequences. Those who have purchased ESR13: ERDOGAN’S WAR will be able to read the update first: it’ll be posted as ADDENDUM at the bottom of the report this Saturday. Later, the update will appear as free article on FT.
As Erdogan and Putin were preparing to meet, Ukraine attempted to attack Crimea twice in 2-3 days. Fire was exchanged, Russian Federal Security officer and a serviceman were killed, and a number of trained Ukrainian terrorists, complete with explosives and terror equipment, were taken prisoner by FSB.
You may not be surprised to learn that this attack is connected to Erdogan’s visit. But connections are much wider than that. This attack has direct bearing on US presidential elections and Russian Duma elections in September. It also comes after Russian government has announced that Crimea would become part of a larger Federal District.
The implications of the attack are far-reaching. Minsk and Normandy negotiations formats are affected; LDNR (DPR/LPR) status may change in a very positive way – I’ll discuss that in the forthcoming report; and the near future of Ukraine may become even more unstable. Who is behind this desperate attack, which could have never succeeded, who benefits from it and who gave the order?
Meanwhile, a coup to unseat Poroshenko is brewing in Kiev. Will he survive it, and what happens if he doesn’t? Lots of questions and they demand answers. I’ve been planning a new ESR: CRIMEAN AGENDA, but it has been on back burner. This may be just the time to release it! Stay tuned for more info!
Last but not least! UK PM Theresa May and Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation, in which they agreed to a personal meeting. This is good news. The events following Brexit vote have been developing just as I predicted in ESR12: THE FUTURE OF THE EU. I’ve been meaning to release a follow-up, with a broader outreach. ESR13 summary and description
On August 9, 2016 Turkish President Erdogan arrives to St. Petersburg, Russia, to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time since Turkish Airforce shot down Russian Su24 jet in late fall 2015. Russia retaliated with massive economic sanctions and across the board Turkish bans. But recently, Erdogan sent a surprise letter of apology to Putin. Following that, Russia warned Erdogan of the planned Turkish military coup, thus saving his presidency and his life.
Amid continuing war in Syria spearheaded by Russian Airforce, Turkey had served as safe haven and training grounds for ISIS terrorists. Turkey has benefited greatly from the black market ISIS oil sales, drug, human and artifact trafficking through its territory. At the same time, Turkish NATO bases had for decades been one of the strongest concentrations of US military power stationed abroad, and directed primarily against Russia, as well as helping to control the Middle East.
The EU refugee crisis, orchestated by the US and Turkey weakened the EU and made the population and politicians alike question the validity of open borders and neoliberal policies. Angela Merkel lost much of her former clout by welcoming a million plus refugees without any necessary checks of their legitimacy and association with ISIS. After it became clear that neither Germany nor EU were prepared to cope with such influx, she offered Turkey a 6 bln euro bribe to keep refugees away from EU shores. To bribe Erdogan, Merkel also allowed the prosecution of a comedian who wrote a mocking poem about Turkish leader, thus going against the core European principle of freedom of speech. Merkel’s actions turned into a complete fiasco. In protest, German Bundestag finally decided to recognize Turkish slaughter of millions of Armenians in early 20th century as genocide (something many other countries, including Russia, have done years ago).
In response, Erdogan banned German MPs from visiting German troops at a Turkish NATO base, therefore creating a rift within NATO. Simultaneously, Erdogan threatened to expel US troops from its bases, while allowing Russians to use them. A serious conflict began between Turkey and US. No matter how much US tries to downplay it, Turkey’s growing rift with US and NATO is apparent.

New Armenia Color Revolution Attempt Begins!
This happened on Sunday, July 17, 2016:
One person was killed when armed men stormed a police station in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on Sunday. Police have surrounded the building and are negotiating with the group, who took several hostages. The Yerevan’s and country’s deputy chiefs of police were taken hostage, among others. The internet in the country is also currently down.

Ruptly is LIVE from Yerevan on the fourth day of a hostage siege on Wednesday, July 20, after an armed group stormed a police station in the Armenian capital and took control of the building on Sunday, July 17. One person was killed and several injured during Sunday’s attack. Soldiers have been dispatched to surround the building and police have continued negotiating with the group.
Armenia’s Deputy Police Chief General Major Vardan Egiazaryan and Yerevan’s Deputy Chief of Police Valeri Osipyan are believed to be among the hostages. Two hostages were reportedly freed on Tuesday, July 19, with seven or eight believed to remain inside. Local media are reporting that the group, which calls itself the ‘Daredevils of Sassoun,’ is demanding the release of jailed opposition leader Jirayr Sefilyan, who was arrested in June for illegal arms trafficking, as well as the release of other political prisoners, including Gevorg Safaryan, Valodia Avedisyan, and Shant Haroutynyan.

This post should be read in conjunction with my previous Deadly Extremist Attack in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The situation in Armenia and Kazakhstan – previously two of the most stable members of Eurasian Union – is escalating. The events in these two former Soviet republics, one located between Central Asia and Siberia and another in Caucasus, mirror each other and are connected. The real target in both cases is the weakening of Eurasian Union, and consequently, weakening of Russia.
The events in Armenia are retaliation for Armenia joining Eurasian Union, coupled with the goal of destabilization of Caucasus and punishment of Russia for successes in Syria, Turkey and the Middle East. Kazakhstan is being punished for being a founding member of EAEU, plus Nazarbayev’s key role in bringing to fruition the reconciliation of Russia and Turkey.

Russia’s Accomplishments and Withdrawal Reasons Revealed!
Putin is the most unpredictable politician in the world: he always tells the truth.
As many times before, Putin openly pre-announced Russian objectives in Syria and said that once they have been achieved, Russia will withdraw. It appears the West was under a complete impression Putin was lying. No wonder: that’s how they themselves behave, and they expect the same behavior from others. Their feeble minds can’t fathom that there are few out there who actually tell the truth.
What were Russia’s main objectives? Let’s hear it directly from the horse’s mouth.
This special talk show Evening with Vladimir Soloviev of March 15, 2016, dedicated to Russian withdrawal from Syria (Вечер с Владимиром Соловьевым. Спецвыпуск от 15.03.16), includes an excerpt from the televised October 2015 interview with President Putin. Incidentally, Evening with Vladimir Soloviev is my top recommended Russian political talk show.

S: What are our real goals in Syria and what are the criteria of our success?
P: First, let me re-confirm what is already a well-known fact: we have advised in advance our American and many other partners, as well as the countries in the region, of our plans and intentions. Some say we did it too late, but let me remind everyone that no one ever advises us of their plans or actions in operations of this kind. Yet, we did it.
S: Show of good will?
P: Yes, out of good will, together with common sense. But also to show that we are open to cooperation.
S: Syrian army began advancing. What are their chances of success?
P: This primarily depends on the Syrian army and Syrian leadership. We can’t assume any excessive responsibility upon ourselves, and we never did. I said from the start that the active phase of our Syrian operation will be limited in time by the term of the advancement of this same Syrian army. To return to your first question: our goal is specifically to stabilize the legitimate power in Syria and to create the conditions for the political dialogue and compromise.
That was said in October 2015. The whole Russian plan, timeframe and intentions were laid out clearly, for all world to hear.

LR: To add to the above, Putin and Russian Army command announced from the start that Syrian op would last 5-6 months. There were tons of doom-and-gloomers everywhere, including Russian opposition from Zhirinovsky’s LDPR to pro-West anti-Putin liberals. These predicted that Russia would get stuck in Syria, like US did in Iraq and Afghanistan, that it will be Afghanistan 2.0 for Russia, that casualties would mount…
The active phase of Russian Syrian op actually ended in 5 months! There were only two operation-related military casualties, due to Turkey’s downing of the Russian jet and rescue helicopter. Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties: terrorist act against Russian plane over Sinai, Egypt, with 224 people dead.
On March 14-15, 2016 Putin Announced Russian Troops Withdrawal from Syria. The West is in shock. They are so used to their own lies, as well as the world around them based solely on lies, that they can’t fathom how Putin can actually promise something and keep his word. As we know, the White House, Pentagon, US State Dept and NATO were completely unprepared and didn’t know what to say or how to react to the news.

Main reasons for Russian troops withdrawal from Syria revealed!
I didn’t call Earth Shift Report 5 SYRIA GAME CHANGER by accident. What Russia did in Syria in the mere five months truly was a total game changer and a complete turnaround.
Below is a long list of objectives of the Russian Syria campaign that have been achieved in five months. (I challenge you to compare this list of things promised and delivered to what the multi-year US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq have done to those countries; what NATO bombings have done to Libya; what the US/EU 2-year+ interference in Ukraine has turned the country into!)
Important things to remember:
Let’s recall that Russia announced from the start that there will be no ground operation. It was clear that Russia doesn’t want to repeat Soviet and US mistakes in the Middle East.
Also, let’s remember that this withdrawal is partial. This is a gesture designed to send a specific message to all parties involved, and to the global community in general. What this message is – we’ll discuss below.
Russia merely announced the end to the active phase of Syria operations. There are two bases and sufficient number of troops/crews left. Russia still controls the Syrian sky. S-400 systems remain there, which means that any flights over Syria have to be coordinated with Russia.
Additionally, it has been hinted that Russian jets, troops and ships can be returned back within hours, should necessity arise. In fact, Vladimir Putin announced that starting March 22 Russia may re-start operations against those who attempt to break the truce. This remark had a fabulous response. Those groups who thought they could begin fighting with Assad troops again once Russia left, got back to negotiations table.
Russia spent on Syrian operation $450 million. That’s all. This constitutes less than 1 percent of the Russian defence budget.
I don’t have handy the Pentagon or NATO budget numbers, but isn’t it something like their weekly allowance? Incidentally, let’s compare this to how much US spent in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Russian accomplishments in Syria and associated withdrawal reasons:
1. ISIS oil infrastructure – destroyed or weakened; ISIS military and terrorist infrastructure – destroyed or weakened. Multi-billion investments of ISIS/Al Nusra/ Muslim Brotherhood’s sponsors Qatar, Saudis and Turkey – destroyed. ISIS, Turkey, Saudi and Qatar oil – synthetic drug – slave – artifact smuggling ring broken, which means that the financing of terrorist activities has been dealt a major blow.
2. What really goes on in Syria has been exposed for the whole world to see. Before, the Western propaganda had a monopoly on Syria stories, presenting its usual false narrative. Now, with Russian direct footage and access given for the Western press to Russian bases and battle ships patrolling Mediterranean much of the false narrative changed dramatically. Having seen the truth, US and EU became unable to accuse Russia or Assad of various actions they didn’t commit. The Western propaganda ring has been broken and the tide has been reversed.
3. Some of the potential new recruits have been scared away from joining ISIS-Daesh and other terrorist organizations by Russian Syria campaign. The idea that they would be bombed by Russian jets, should they join, stopped many. Therefore, the lives of some of the young, lost people residing on the territory of the Russian Federation, EU and various Muslim counties, have been saved.
Per Russian statistics, about 5,000 Russian citizens joined ISIS, mostly Muslims from Caucasus, Siberia, Volga Tatars and Crimean Tatars. Also thousands joined from Muslim ex-Soviet Central Asia and Azerbaijan. These were recruited through mosques and infiltrated propagandists. The flow of ‘fresh cannon fodder’ has been at least slowed down, if not stopped.
One of pre-announced Russian goals was to prevent the already trained ISIS militants from being able to return back home, which they could do with their Russian passports. The official Russian statistics is that out of 5,000 ISIS militants with Russian passports 2,000 have been killed as a result of Russian raids.
4. Another Russian goal was to keep Syria secular and inclusive of other religions, in other words, prevent Syria from turning into another Muslim fundamentalist state. There are many Christians (both Orthodox and Catholics) that lived in Syria in peace for millennia; Assad government was always respectful of other religions. These Christians and their cities received one of the biggest blows during the invasion by ISIS. Result of Russian campaign: secular Syrian state re-affirmed, made stronger and more consolidated. Assad has been re-affirmed as national leader, at least in the interim.
5. Syrian army was able to advance and take back a number of territories, which they were unable to re-take on their own. Now the Syrian government controls about 1/2 of Syria. Just six months ago it was only about 20% of Syrian territory.
7. The trend of Syrian opposition (dubbed by US ‘moderate’) fighting Assad government troops has been decidedly reversed. Truce achieved and holding; moderate opposition has been taken out of the fight mode with Assad and is now working with Assad against ISIS. Moreover, the number of groups and bands in truce with the government continues growing daily. Altogether, there are thousands of such groups and they are all trying to secure a place for themselves in the future of Syria. All this, thanks to the skilled combined effort of the Russian military and diplomacy.
Russia opened a Center for the Syrian dialogue in Moscow, where different Syrian opposition groups can register and speak up.
Russia also put together a list of those opposition groups that want to be taken out of harms ways. If you are on the list, then you agree to the truce and to stop fighting against Assad troops. Everyone on the list agrees to fight only against ISIS. In exchange, they are guaranteed not to be bombed by Russian jets and to be included in Syrian political process.
All the above has been achieved within five months. It’s in stark contrast to the destruction and chaos US/EU and their ME allies achieved through years of inciting wars, hatred and violence.
In fact, Russia reversed the trend of US and allies encouraging ISIS and other terrorist organizations to grow like a tumor. Certainly, it’s too early to talk about ISIS/Al Nusra/Muslim Brotherhood being dealt a deathly blow. We are still very far from a true resolution of the Middle East problems and crises. If you recall, my prediction last year was that the Middle East would suffer from violence and various conflicts for a long time due to many millennial issues that have remained unresolved. Resolution will take a very long time.
But what Russia has shown in Syria is that resolution is possible; that a very discerning and targeted surgical intervention, aiming at stabilizing the country, while isolating and taking out of the equation the destructive forces, can lead to hope of a better future. The smart leaders and countries will heed this and follow the example.
8. In the eyes of various groups in Syria, and in the eyes of the entire Middle East, Russia is now the main peacemaker and the go-to country for all grievances and deals.
A pilgrimage of various Syria opposition groups to Moscow doesn’t cease. Similarly, every week and month there are leaders of various Middle Eastern countries visiting Moscow for negotiations. Russia received leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan UAE, and everyone in between, including those, like Qatar, who just recently tried to undermine Russia, and who were implicated in the Russian passenger plane downing over Sinai, Egypt. Not that Qatar or SA would stop their undermining activities, but at least for now they have to negotiate.
Leaders of the Kurds from Syria, Iraq and Turkey have been visiting Moscow and meeting with Russians. Kurdistan’s first representative office has opened in Moscow.
Incidentally, as described in SYRIA GAME CHANGER, Israeli PM Netanyahu was one of the first to visit Moscow before the start of the Russian Syria incursion in 2015. Back then I said that Israel, with the usual Jewish shrewdness, knew who to ‘call.’ Let’s say that Israel knew ‘the right phone number’ and understood how to position itself before Syria events. This is why Israel was first to sign a Syria cooperation and intel sharing deal with Russia. I said back then that Israel knows where the wind is blowing and is re-orienting itself towards Russia, Eurasia and SCO. For those who want to hear me out: I said many times before that we are going through a massive Earth Shift in all areas of life on the planet. I am your guide in this tectonic Earth Shift. 8. As a result of years of USA’s failures, especially compared to Russia’s success, US influence in the Middle East is waning fast. Russian influence is growing just as fast.
Non-ISIS/non-Al Nusra opposition is now much less likely to look to the US and much more likely to go to Russia for advice and direction.
US clout in the Middle East is extremely low, even in the countries fully dependent in them. Saudis consider themselves betrayed by the US and continue giving signals to Russia that they want closer cooperation (frankly, I wouldn’t trust them for a moment, but a situational alliance might be useful). Iraq and Afghanistan continue attempting to ask Russia for assistance in fighting ISIS on their territory, while US continues blocking these requests. Russians signaled they would help Afghanistan and Iraq, if asked formally by their governments. One of the big reasons to help is that terrorists and smugglers from those two could potentially infiltrate Central Asia and south Caucasus, from where they can get into Russia proper through porous ex-Soviet republics’ borders.
The latest on that: Russian military signaled that they have secured the Central Asian borders in Tajikistan through the newly expanded base and that infiltration isn’t possible any more.
9. Russia achieved its goal of securing bases in Syria / on the Mediterranean coast. Russia now has two bases, which will continue being maintained. All this will be secured by diplomatic documents that will hold under international scrutiny regardless of what government comes after Assad.
10. Russia got US to take off the table its demand that ‘Assad must go’ – a MAJOR win for Russia and a major show of US weakness.
11. Syria elections – another achievement. This means that Assad has been legitimized in the eyes of the West and Syrian opposition. They all now have to work with Assad, whether they want it or not.
If Assad is reconfirmed as the national leader by elections, they will have no choice but to recognize him. If he isn’t reconfirmed, then there will be new government, which, unlike Libya, destroyed by the US and EU interference, will have to be secular and inclusive, under Russian and international supervision.
12. I wrote about this in SYRIA GAME CHANGER. Federalization of Syria and the Kurds is possible. I consider this a good outcome, if done correctly. Kurds announced they are forming a federation (aka, autonomy) within Syria. At the very minimum, this means they are not trying to secede, further destabilizing the region. This announcement, so far not recognized by Assad or internationally, puts a lot of pressure on Erdogan and Turkey, who are bombing and killing Kurds on their own territory. For the Turkish Kurds now there is an inspiring example in Syria. This weakens Erdogan. I have talked at length in ESR5 and ESR7 about Erdogan, Davutoglu, ans the issue of the Kurds.
In ESR5 I said that Syria needs to move to federalization. Russia, the world’s largest federation, can help Syria like no other.
Assad is afraid to recognize Kurdish autonomy as well, fearing this will lead to further destabilization of the country. He is partially right: US/West/Saudi/Qatar/Turkey’s interference in the affairs of decentralized, autonomous regions will be that much easier. But Assad may have no choice. In the end it all depends on how skilled his diplomats and politicians are. Russia will lend a hand in negotiations.
As a matter of fact, it has been recognized by various opposition and pro-government forces that Russia is the one and only power to talk to. As one Assad’s opponent said, ‘now Russia is again seen as the only peacemaker in the region by all forces in Syria.’
13. Withdrawing at the time when Kerry and Lavrov have decided on the framework on Syria negotiations and when the main list of Syrian ‘moderate’ opposition’ groups has been compiled underscores Russia’s commitment to peaceful, diplomatic solution of Syrian conflict.
Since Geneva negotiations between government and opposition began, the withdrawal and cessation of Russian bombings sent all the right kinds of signals to the parties involved: Russian Army has done its job. Now it’s time for Russian diplomacy to do theirs.
Putin reconfirmed this signal when he met on March 14th with both Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu. The message was very strong and unmistakable: the army has done what was needed to stabilize Syria, now let’s pass the baton to our diplomats, who will deepen and solidify this success.

14. Last, but not least, by announcing partial withdrawal, Russia sent a message to Assad. The message is that Assad shouldn’t rest on laurels; that he can’t think that Russia was there to support him personally.
Russia sent a message, understood fully by all political and military groups in Syria and beyond: we won’t always be in Syria to bail out Assad. He needs to find his own stride for reconciliation. We are here to establish pre-conditions for political process by stabilizing the country and allowing the fair and equal voice to the people. What does this kind of message do? It puts the fire under Assad, making him agree to elections and national dialogue. It also restrains honest opposition from further armed clashes with government forces, making them see the light in the end of the tunnel – the light of possible peaceful resolution and political change in the interests of the country.
The Russian Syria withdrawal timing is genius:
All in all, Russia took away from the West and their Middle East vassals the possibility of escalation of anti-Assad rhetoric and, therefore, escalation of Syria conflict, leading to further destabilization of the country and region.
1. UK is now in a difficult position. Its attempt to build a new army and invade Syria through Libya now makes it look like a bully and invader in the eyes of own citizens.
2. Turkey was preparing its own invasion of Syria. Russian withdrawal announcement was a cold shower to Erdogan. Now US/NATO are forced to restrain Turkey from rash actions. In fact, the entire Russian op put a huge harness on Turkey’s ambitions to chop off a chunk of Syria, promised to him by US/Qatar and Saudis in late 2000s. It also dampened Erdogan’s ambition to resurrect Ottoman Khalifate. Read all about that in ESR7: TURKISH CONUNDRUM.
3. This move by Russia also restrains US actions in Syria, together with those of Saudis and Qatar. Now their hands are tied and they can’t continue trying to unseat Assad, otherwise they look like bullies. Of course, to make this happen Lavrov and Russia first made US admit that negotiations were the way to go, remove from the agenda ‘Assad must go’ mantra and compose a list of opposition forces ready to negotiate. Being tied into the negotiations framework makes it impossible for US to start invading Syria willy-nilly.
4. Besides that, Russia ingeniously timed Syria op, negotiations and withdrawal to the US presidential elections year. Obama and democrats desperately need to show some kind of international successes. This is why they suddenly began playing nice with Cuba, sat down with Iran last year and this is why they are ready to negotiate in Syria.
5. Another reason Russia announced partial withdrawal: sand storm season has begun, which makes flights difficult to impossible for a couple of months. Again – good timing.
6. US has recently gone into Syria, while Russia is already out. This again demonstrates that US continues scrambling to catch up to Russia. Read: Why Is Obama Scrambling to Catch Up to Putin? In ESR5 I said that Syria 2015-16 reminds me of WWII and 1944. It was in 1944 that US/UK suddenly saw the light and opened second front against Hitler, but only after they realized that USSR could take Berlin and liberate Europe all by themselves.
As I said, Putin is always several steps ahead. This is especially true after the devious US game in Ukraine.
Let me tell you something: the fact that Russia was not playing devious games in Ukraine was perceived by US and EU as a weakness and an opening to go in. As usual, they are unable to conceive that there are some who don’t play devious games not because they can’t, but because they are above it.
It’s not dangerous, but actually good – not for the US, but for Russia and the rest of the world – that US is stuck on the ground in yet another conflict in the Middle East. US troops are on the ground in Syria – Russian are not; US has already given a commitment they will fight ISIS, after they were shamed by Russia into doing so (as explained in ESR5). Good, let them finally live up to their promises and do something useful for a change!
Meanwhile, Russian reputation and clout in the Middle East is growing, while US is waning. US is playing a humiliating catch-up, while Russia continues leading.
In fact, I think that in part this Russian withdrawal has been timed so to demonstrate how slow and ill-equipped US and EU are for the modern strategic operations. Sort of: ‘see, we’ve accomplished everything we said we would, and are already out, while these dinosaurs are only getting in.’ The world isn’t blind and can see what’s going on.
When US showed to the whole world that it was absolutely unwilling to respect Russian interests, Russia and Putin began showing that in fact they are very capable of playing games, and much better than the West – if they want to.
Finally, here are two other good reasons for the timing of this withdrawal:
7. March 15th was one day before the 2nd anniversary of the Crimean referendum, which returned Crimea to Russia. This was part of the holiday present for March 16-19, the dates when Crimea and Sevastopol were officially accepted as two new subjects of the Russian Federation. Russia is clean and out of any conflicts on foreign soil – was the loud and clear message.
8. Now, being out of Syria, Russia can deal without any distractions with Ukraine and other problems close to home, such as Central Asia and Caucasus. This also includes Turkey and all of Black Sea.

Money Trail: Who Organized the Flood of Middle East Refugees to Europe?
“Incidentally, in all this, do you notice another party that has almost the same interests as Turkey? Putting a wedge between Russia and EU to prevent them from getting closer economically and politically; preserving its own empire by dividing and conquering; attempting to pit EU and Russia against each other while being safe on the other side of the Atlantic, so both EU and Russia look the other way, while enriching itself and executing a crawling invasion of Asia and Europe… Who might that be?
That would be the US.
In turmoils that are shaking up Europe, Ukraine, Russia and the Middle East, USA and Turkey happen to be two very twisted allies. It doesn’t have to be this way as US should be aligning with Europe. But unfortunately, US has taken the course on weakening the EU in order to shove down its throat TTIP and in order to prevent the formation of the Eurasian Partnership, which would unite Europe, Russia, China and Asia.
Event No. 2 is tied directly to the above. It is the situation with Middle Eastern refugees streaming into Europe from Turkey. There are presently over 2 million refugees from Syria in Turkey, at least according to Turkish government. Some of them are in fact from Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, as well as Pakistan and Africa. About one million or more of these refugees have already crossed into Europe.
What struck investigative journalists following the European refugee crisis was the incredibly high level of organization of the entire exodus. By no means it was a spontaneous and sudden move of the masses across the Mediterranean. Initially, Turkey loaded ships full of refugees and sent them to Greek shores, where they were unloaded. This feat alone is very expensive and logistically difficult.
Let’s recall that we are talking people completely unfamiliar with Europe, its way of life and terrain, and speaking no local languages. How did they magically organize themselves into large groups, how did they know exactly which border crossing to go to and what to do there? It turned out that text messages were sent to them telling them where to gather. Each person was assigned a specific group. Tips on how and where to cross, where to stay, where to find taxi and trains were sent daily.
The interesting thing that struck everyone was that the majority of the refugees staunchly wanted to reach Germany. Not only that, but they were given the exact route to take: through Greece or Bulgaria, on to Macedonia, Serbia and into Hungary. Then through Austria to Germany. When Hungary closed its borders, the whole crowd quickly reoriented itself by turning towards Croatia and then onward through Slovenia.
Then there is a very sticky issue – that of money. How and from where did all these people get the money to cross most of Europe? You have to feed yourself and your family, you have to find a place to stay and buy at least basic necessities. Transportation is very expensive. Many of these refugees used taxis to get to Serbian-Hungarian border. I listened to an interview with Serb taxi drivers and they said that a trip from Serb capital Belgrade to the border with Hungary cost 200 euro per person. That’s a tiny fraction of the entire journey. How many such little segments did the refugees have to cover? Where did the money come from?
I recall the footage where Hungarian police was trying to give some bottled water to ‘refugees’ that took over the Budapest train station. Several athletic-looking young refugee men took the crates full of bottled water placed by the police on pavement and threw these crates with disdain onto train tracks. While at it, their whole attitude indicated that they didn’t need anything from the ‘infidels.’ Besides this being a pollution and hazard for passing trains, someone had to go later onto those tracks and clean up the mess.
Can you imagine refugees behaving this way? Being this ungrateful and contemptuous towards the hosts who are trying to give them water? Not being afraid of getting arrested or deported on the spot? The impression from the footage was that they came to Hungary as conquerors, not as refugees.
The biggest problem that I see here is the fact that refugees in dire straits should need every help they can get, since they would have very little money, having spent a lot while on the road and needing more to settle down. These had so much money they could afford to throw perfectly good bottled water away?
I want to stress that among these people there were legitimate refugees from Syria, with families, who really needed protection and shelter. But it has been established that only 25% were in fact Syrians. The majority either bought fake Syrian passports or was from elsewhere. Incidentally, it has been leaked that a fake Syrian passport costs anywhere between $250 and 350.
It has also been noted that 80% or more were young and strong men traveling alone.
After a public outcry and criticism that mostly young and strong men were among the refugees, who tended to push away women and children in order to get themselves a better spot, miraculously, more families with women and children began appearing in the footage shown on TV. It was as if an invisible hand painted into the picture additional families to allay suspicions.
So, we are back to the issue of money. Where did all these masses of people (over one million in total!) get the money to the degree that they would throw away the drink or food offered to them? Credit cards? But didn’t they run away from a war in Syria or Iraq? Credit cards aren’t commonplace in these countries, especially if these people came from the refugee camps.
Cash? How much cash can one carry across several borders when only limited amounts are allowed? And what about robberies? How can one carry a lot of cash while having to sleep in tents and on the road in unknown countries? If it’s cash, then you would carry certain limited amounts, which need to be periodically replenished. So, how does one do it?
A German journalist did his own investigation, attempting to retrace the steps of refugees. It turned out that six months prior to the wave of refugees, a whole slew of Western Union offices suddenly sprang up in Bulgaria, on the border with Turkey. How did Western Union know to open a bunch offices in that specific location just prior to the refugee wave hitting Bulgarian shores? It’s probably a safe bet to assume that all these Western Union offices will close down again once the wave of refugees subsides.
Therefore, Turkey, Saudis and Qatar organized and financed exodus of refugees to Europe. And we all know who is behind Western Union, as well as most financial flows around the world.“

“Ships began unloading U.S. tanks, self-propelled howitzers and hundreds of other fighting vehicles Friday in the northern German port of Bremerhaven, to be moved into Eastern Europe to bolster NATO’s deterrence against possible Russian aggression.” The story goes on the say Britain is sending “fighter jets” into Black Sea area & other countries are pitching in men & armaments to “protect Eastern Europe”.
The story reads like US/NATO is reacting to some sort of provocation and yet the name suggests your assessment that NATO is facing an “existential threat” is spot on. Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced Operation Atlantic Resolve last year & this new phase is called “Enhanced Forward Presence”. “Resolve” & “Presence” is a loser’s bully language.
The AP article also underscores the shocking state of American journalism. There’s no attempt to give any sort of back story. If you take out the one word “possible” or even use “probable” or “expected” Russian aggression, you’ve got a totally different “news” item.
